“Fake” marriage

This was… short… which is good and bad

Good because it goes by fast

Bad because it goes by way too fast 😐 and I wanted to see more- more of a buildup, more of a connection, more tension, more of them in their HEA…

Jenna’s boss makes a Naughty or Nice list every year and she never makes the Nice list- so she doesn’t get a bonus and doesn’t see her family 😒

This year though… her boss Nicholas (10 years older) needs a wife before Christmas in order to get his inheritance… and he knows just the perfect woman for him 😅.

Even though Jenna tries to hire someone for him to get a “wife” they’re all not what he wants.

If only he can show her that they’re meant to be…

I liked: POSSIBLE SPOILERS
—that it was short
—that she could be feisty
—her family
—her mom had more than one man 😮‍💨
—the 🔥. First kiss happens at almost 50% and full 🔥75%. We get some FTB scenes as well
—the epilogue 🥹❤️
—the OMD 😈. Love that the Nicholas has some competition👏🏻

What I didn’t like/wanted more of:
—more tension 😐. It felt like that kiss came out of nowhere
—ummm. The car 🔥 scene… come on 🤦🏻‍♀️. It’s so unrealistic 🤷🏻‍♀️. There’s no way it’s possible
—whatever happened to his mom? Her lovers?
—and her family?
—the other man?
—too much unresolved info to make me feel satisfied

Overall, this was a fast read

This was a fun, flirty holiday romance that hit all the right notes for me. I loved the banter, the easy chemistry, and the festive vibe mixed with this author’s signature heat. It is quick, playful, and perfect for when you want something light, smexy, and comforting with a guaranteed swoony payoff.

Nicholas needs his inheritance, but to get it, he has to get married quickly. Jenna tries to find him the perfect wife, but it doesn't work, so he offers her the job. She finally accepts, even though she hates him, even though he's ungrateful and puts her on his naughty list every Christmas when no one works harder than she does.
Many tropes work very well: enemies to lovers, boss employee, office romance, holiday romance, fake fiancée... It has all the elements that make Whitney G's novellas so successful, including the witty banter, the humor, and the strong characters. Despite this, it's not my favorite novella by the author. There are a few things that bothered me. For example, Jenna's mother. Dead or alive? I confess I didn't quite understand the situation. I initially thought it was just me, but I read other reviews and it seems other readers had the same issue. Some scenes or details aren't very realistic. In fact, even though the story and characters are enjoyable, I get the impression that this text was written quickly or wasn't proofread enough.
In any case, it was a quick and very enjoyable read.

What better way to start off my new year than reading Whitney’s new holiday office romance book?!

Nicholas and Jenna have been working together for about 3 years. Nicholas needs his inheritance and the only way he can get it is if he’s married. Now it’s time to find himself a fake wife. Jenna perhaps? She wants nothing to do with it but eventually gives in with a few terms of her own. Now it’s time to meet the families & convince everyone that this engagement is real.

Once again, I just love reading office romances. I like the emails between boss and assistant. I enjoy the fun banter. I love when the heroine stands up and speaks her mind & doesn’t care that the boss is a millionaire who could fire her at any minute. Whitney’s books have all this! She does office romance like no other.

Jenna was so smart, funny, sharp & witty. Her comebacks were just so funny to me. Nicholas, a bit cocky but really sweet. He paid attention to Jenna a lot. Even though they were just co-workers, he knew her really well & vise versa. It was so cute & sweet.

I really love the way Whitney can describe scenes. I can literally see everything play out like a movie in my head & her descriptions of items, decorations and offices are so good. I can picture it all so clearly. This story did give a bit of a Four Christmases vibe with them going to visit families!

Another story that had me laughing out loud so many times. I really don’t know what else to say besides you’re missing out if you don’t pick up this book. It really is great!

Another steamy office novella from Whitney G. I have come to expect certain things from my Whitney G. novels, and a hero that is obsessed before the heroine knows what hits her is always one of those things. That always hits with me.

This has a few funny tid bits but it felt rushed. We go from them being at odds with each other to him admitting he has feelings very quickly but honestly he never really says it. He just says he wants to stay married which I guess is the same thing but I don’t know I just didn’t feel it. It was cute for what it is but not my favorite of Whitney’s.

Favorite lines:

He’s a man who deserves to be dragged under Santa’s sleigh for the rest of his life—

“You logged into my account to make me look evil to your family.” “First of all, you are evil,” she said. “Second of all, I did no such thing.”

“A fucking wife.” He narrowed his eyes. “Someone who is married to me.” I blinked. “Willingly?”

“Are you done yet?” “I have three more things to say.” “I’ll listen to one.” “Then I’ll go in reverse.”

“You have to let your heart and your pussy breathe.”

“Okay, well—” She hugged him closely. “She has to love you back to be able to put up with you for longer than a week, because the millions wouldn’t be enough for me.”

“I’m tired of muffling your screams while you say my name.”

Was this written by AI?

I’m honestly confused by all the 5 star reviews. They have to be paid reviews because this book was awful. And not in a “you’re entitled to your opinion” type of awful but truly made no sense at all.

The H is a horrible person/boss and yet the h continues to work for him for YEARS with no explanation as to why she would subject herself to that giving that she actually hates him and has no problem telling him that. If I was the ONLY person not receiving a bonus year after year I would not only file a complaint with HR, I would quit. Yes I know this is Fiction but this is just delusional writing.

Secondly the H tells the h find him a fiancée for his inheritance and he calls each of them his wife at different times then switches back to fiancée. None of them worked out for different reasons. So he bribes the h into being his fiancée.

Visiting their families was just odd. No backstory about his mom just straight up introduced as weird as heck. And we’re supposed to believe that her family automatically loved him knowing how he treated her all these years? Give me a break 🙄.

The h says her and her mother used to work in the garden when she (her mother) was alive and then we find out she has a step mom and then suddenly she’s calling her mom and asking why she never stopped her from calling her that and says “I’m not 8 and I also still have my real mom” and the step mom says she knows her real mom doesn’t care if she calls her mom. Why are there so many inconsistencies?

Toward the end of the book the h is just being whiny and hears the H talking to his CFO who is also whining about his bonus and mentions they have to get the annulment when they get back. St what point in the trip to her family’s house did the engagement turn into an actual marriage? Oh right, it didn’t.

This was poorly written and honestly a complete waste of time and money. So many authors are pumping out “books” so quickly and not stopping to think if it’s even decently written. (Spoiler alert it’s NOT) I know this review sounds harsh but it had to be said considering the rest of the reviews were fake. There’s no way anyone is reading this and thinking it was that amazing.

’Querida Jenna Dawson:

Not on His Wish List de Whitney G

Argumento:

Not on His Naughty List by Whitney G is a fun, fast-paced holiday romance packed with banter, chemistry, and all the tropes I love. Jenna absolutely despises her boss, Nicholas. Despite working tirelessly, she somehow always ends up on his “naughty list” at the end of the year. But when Nicholas suddenly needs to get married fast in order to secure his inheritance, the power dynamic begins to shift. Jenna initially sets out to find him the perfect wife, but every potential match falls short for one reason or another, and as the failed candidates pile up, Nicholas decides to offer her the job instead. Jenna is understandably reluctant, especially given his ungrateful attitude. Still, she eventually agrees, and it becomes increasingly clear that no one else will ever make the cut. Only Jenna fits.
As Nicholas begins to reveal his softer side, the chemistry between them ignites. The attraction simmers, the passion builds, and the banter remains sharp, witty, and laugh-out-loud funny. Watching their enemies-to-lovers journey unfold is both entertaining and satisfying.
If you’re looking for a quick, comical, feel-good read featuring boss-and-employee tension, fake marriage, and undeniable chemistry, this novella delivers. Not on His Naughty List has all the hallmarks of a successful Whitney G story, is full of witty dialogue, strong characters, great humor, and just the right amount of heat. A perfect choice for a festive romance with plenty of sass. Be warned, the story is short and it moves fast.

This was another quick, easy and satisfying seasonal romance from Whitney G. It had a sweet male lead (made out to be the Antichrist), a sassy FMC with a backbone and heaps of great banter and dialogue between the two. It's set in the lead up to the Christmas holidays. Nicholas is a rich CEO and Jenna his PA. Every year he makes a naughty and nice list and accordingly gives or denies his employees a Christmas bonus. Jenna is put on the naughty list because of her attitude and general dislike of her boss, which of course further kindles the fire of her hatred. Fast forward to Nicholas needing a fake bride to inherit a cool 200 million. The only candidate he's interested in for a bride is Jenna. Dangling a nice incentive her way so she agrees, they're stuck together for the holidays and meeting one another's family so they can fool the company's trust adviser that the engagement is legitimate. It have me vibes of the movie The Proposal and was heaps of fun. I love this author's Christmas reads. They're like a big cup of hot chocolate in the lead up to Christmas and the novella size length meant it was doable during the busy season. As per usual with this author, the male lead was divine and the female lead was bratty but entertaining. There wasn't a lot of angst and while parts were a tad over the top, it had a happy ending and left me smiling.

JENNA FIGHTS TO GET OFF GRUFF CEO'S NAUGHTY LIST!

Jenna works so hard for Nicholas and is always on his Naughty List. He's the CEO and has her doing fifty things at once and she always come through! Yet at Christmas in order to get a Bonus, you must be on his Nice List. Nicholas is incredibly attracted to her and yet because of their office policy, he cannot act on his attraction. He doesn't want to lose her because she is so good but he cannot stand to be around her each day and not touch her. He is so conflicted and therefore always gruff around her.

When he is to get his inheritance on his 40th birthday, Nicholas is blindsided by a clause that he has to be married. His arrogance has ignored all the times that he was attempted to be told. After unsuccessfully attempting to find a suitable bride for him, the only suitable woman is Jenna. She knows him and his quirks backward and forward. Her dislike of him can only be tempered with a large enough bonus to assuage her hurt from the past.

Spending time alone at Christmas away from the office allows Nicholas to let his feelings for Jenna show. Meeting her family, and her meeting his brought some surprises and laugh out loud moments! This delightful book is a balm to the soul and an enjoyable way to cozy up and escape for a few hours. Whitney Grace never disappoints!

It's not officially Christmas until we get to read one of these festive novellas. The comedy is unhinged which is exactly what I need to forget about the hectic pace of the season.

I started laughing early on as this boss and employee banter and hate each other with their clever dialogues and their chemistry disguised as office war. From a nice or naughty list to a plan of fake engagement, the surreal scenarios multiply enough to keep you entertained without noticing time. I had fun with how negative their relationship seems but is really steeped in familiarity, hot stares and even hotter kisses. It couldn't get any crazier when some characters add their brand of quirkiness to the plot. Nicholas and Jenna's families deserve some kind of prize for Mad Hatter vibes. You just have to love them for their honest craziness.

Jenna is secretly in love with her boss so she suffers his passion with gusto but dreading the end to the charade. Thank goodness Christmas ends with a bang and a forever. Though that Nice or Naughty list still puts up a fight. So funny!

Not On His Wishlist is a fun, spicy holiday novella that delivers exactly what you want from an enemies‑to‑lovers, boss/employee setup—petty grudges, sharp banter, and enough tension to melt a snowbank. Jenna can’t stand her grumpy boss, Nicholas, and their annual showdown over his ridiculous naughty‑and‑nice list is practically a workplace sport. She’s always “naughty.” Shocking.

But when Nicholas suddenly needs a wife to secure his inheritance, he strikes a deal with the one woman guaranteed to challenge him at every turn. And let’s just say… being on the “nice” list has never looked so tempting.

The chemistry between these two is instant and combustible. Their snarky back‑and‑forth is delicious, and watching Nicholas’ gruff exterior crack to reveal all those buried, inconvenient feelings? Swoon city. Once he finally lets himself fall, he falls.

This novella is quick, spicy, and full of holiday charm—a perfect little treat that leaves your heart warm and your cheeks a bit flushed.

What a fun, light story this novella is! I loved the tussle between the lead characters, Jenna Dawson and her boss, Nicholas Saint, is terrific. The banter is hilarious and gets Jenna on her boss’s naughty list over and over.

The tension between Jenna and Nicholas is so thick you could almost cut it with a knife. However, each refuses to explore the possibility of a relationship with the other—I’m not sure Jenna even realises she is so attracted to her boss. 🤣 The old—There’s a thin line between love and hate—is so true in this story.

I loved this story! The relationship between these too was hilarious, so much banter.

Jenna is Nicholas' assistant and is excellent at her job, but no matter what she does, she ends up on his 'naughty' list and misses out on a Xmas bonus.

They really do act like they can't stand each other, but their chemistry is clear to see on every page.

The best part of the book is definitely the banter between Jenna and Nicholas. Neither one of them is afraid to say exactly what they are feeling or call the other person out. And because they are so honest and blunt with each other, the sexual tension between them becomes incredibly obvious to everyone around them.

It’s really fun to watch them navigate their "fake" relationship while dealing with those very real feelings. The back-and-forth between them is sharp and entertaining, while still being a very steamy romance.

Whitney G.’s Not on His Wish List is another delightful, fast-paced read perfect for the holiday season. The book packs in a tremendous amount of tension, spice, and laughs in a somewhat small space. Not only is Whitney a master of dialogue, making her books play out in your mind more like a sitcom/romcom but she really knows how to write characters and scenes that make you feel like you are experiencing the moment yourself! I got butterflies, shed tears, and laughed out loud!
I recommend this book to everyone that enjoys quick reads with somewhat grumpy and always snarky heroines that fall for secretly sweet, sexy (rich) men that border on being psychic. And of course, there is plenty of steamy sex scenes.

Jenna is tired of her jerk of a boss. She is the assistant to the CEO and they argue constantly. But she is very good at her job but feels under appreciated. But she has a crush on her boss so everyday is a complication. She wants to quit and just as she gets the nerve to do so, her boss, Nicholas, needs her help.

So Nicholas is set to receive his inheritance at the end of the week. While sitting with the lawyers, as he signs all the papers, they blindside him with the fact, he needs to be married. Nicholas tells Jenna to find him a wife, but when that falls through, Nicholas names Jenna as his soon to be wife.

Fun, easy to read novella. With all shorts, it’s a little difficult to get in a lot of details, but overall, it’s entertaining and fun to read.

The story was captivating, entertaining and crazy good. Jenna is feeling really unappreciated by her boss but is amazing at her job. She is sassy, beautiful, and funny. She is trying to get off her boss naughty list so she is task with a big challenge to get it. Jenna have the hots for her boss. Nicholas is the boss that is serious about his employees on the nice list or naughty list which thrilled him. He is handsome, rich, and demanding. He is bosshole sometimes but he loves it. Nicholas doesn't know if he wants fired Jenna or throw her on the desk to have his way..lol. I was hooked from the first page. The writing was amazing done and flows throughout the book flawlessly.

Jenna but may have to work for her boss but that doesn’t mean she has to have like him. She opposes him at every turn which is why she always manages to find herself on his naughty list which means no Christmas bonus. She now needs to find him a pretend wife however she never wanted it to be her.

Nicholas needs a wife not for forever just long enough to claim his inheritance. When he hits a wall with every woman that might be a viable option he decides the best person for the job is Jenna if they can manage to pull it off without driving each other around the bend.

The banter between them is humorous and once they give in to the feelings between them the heat is intense as they take us on a ride that is both fun and festive.

This novella was pure festive fun wrapped in razor-sharp dialogue and sizzling chemistry. "Not on His Wish List" leans fully into what Whitney does best - an irresistible boss/employee dynamic, enemies-to-lovers tension and banter so good it feels like foreplay. Jenna is witty, unapologetic, and impossible not to root for, while Nicholas is the kind of arrogant, controlled hero who unravels in the most satisfying way. The holiday setting adds charm without slowing the pace, making this a perfect quick read when you want something light, spicy, and entertaining. It is over-the-top in the best way, laugh-out-loud funny, and delivers exactly what it promises: escapism, heat, and a feel-good romantic payoff. A cozy, addictive treat that proves short romances can still pack a punch.

This was my first time reading anything by this author and I honestly had a great time. I flew through this in one sitting. It’s a novella, so it’s short, sweet, steamy and super easy to binge.

The banter between Nicholas and Jenna was the highlight for me. It was entertaining, witty, and actually made me smile while reading. I really liked both of them as characters, which always makes a huge difference.

The plot itself was super cute, very holiday coded, and the nice & naughty lists were such a fun touch. Nothing too heavy, just a cozy, enjoyable read that knew exactly what it wanted to be.
Overall, I really loved this one and it was the perfect quick romance fix.

"I'm honestly tired of pretending I don't want you."

This story is short, so everything happens fast. I loved the banter between Nicholas and Jenna. It was the best part of the book. While it was obvious to me Nicholas was crazy for Jenna, she was harder to read, probably because she was very good at hiding her feelings from everyone, including herself. Jenna's family was a blast. I didn't really like his mom. I did get a little confused over their habit of talking like they were already married but eventually I caught on and realized it was just part of the humor. This story is made for laughter and nothing is to be taken seriously. It's strictly lots of holiday fun!
