The "Washington Pos"t and "USA Today" Bestseller
""I might be Cinderella today, but I dread who they'll think I am tomorrow. I guess it depends on what I do next.""
American Rebecca Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister, Lacey, has always been the romantic who fantasized about glamour and royalty, fame and fortune. Yet it's Bex who seeks adventure at Oxford and finds herself living down the hall from Prince Nicholas, Great Britain's future king. And when Bex can't resist falling for Nick, the person behind the prince, it propels her into a world she did not expect to inhabit, under a spotlight she is not prepared to face.
Dating Nick immerses Bex in ritzy society, dazzling ski trips, and dinners at Kensington Palace with him and his charming, troublesome brother, Freddie. But the relationship also comes with unimaginable hysterical tabloids, Nick's sparkling and far more suitable ex-girlfriends, and a royal family whose private life is much thornier and more tragic than anyone on the outside knows. The pressures are almost too much to bear, as Bex struggles to reconcile the man she loves with the monarch he's fated to become.
Which is how she gets into trouble.
Now, on the eve of the wedding of the century, Bex is faced with whether everything she's sacrificed for love-her career, her home, her family, maybe even herself-will have been for nothing.

Not a deep read, and wildly unlikely (UK readers will be irritated) but it races along like a roller skate down the slope of a roof. An easy and quick romance and great fun.

4.5 ⭐️ I loved it. I couldn’t put it down. It is a great love story with well-developed characters, including the side characters.

My only complaint is the end felt a bit rushed.

Bex really loves Nick, her love is disinterested, she is genuinely devoted to him as he means everything to her.
She is honest and direct, high-minded and courageous in her life choices.
Unfortunately her personal qualities appear to be in conflict with the court etiquette to which Nick belongs.
Nick and Bex love each other but their feelings, their emotions, their true colours need their right channels to flow in.
Both of them will have to face difficulties and to experience pain and unhappiness on their own until they become toughened up and ready for ...

I am a huge lover of monarchies and their incredible histories and characters so when I stumbled upon this book I knew I had to read it. This book, which is very clearly inspired by Prince William and Kate Middleton and their Cinderella-esque romance, was truly adorable; once I started I could NOT put it down. I got through the first few chapters so quickly I almost had to stop myself from re-reading them. I look forward to reading the rest of the novel and seeing what becomes of Bex and Nick.

This book was great! However it did seem a bit boring at some points. I believe that there could have been multiple books made from this and don't get me wrong, im glad that it was just one book but it felt drawn out at times.

I really enjoyed this book; the story is delightful, and despite the fairy tale aspects of this novel, the words, characters, and actions all ring true.
