This completed duology is a tale about prophesy, fated love, and a vengeance filled war that is set to tear kingdoms and a family apart. Political battles and the tangled webs of fate and justice collide in this finale. The twisted family dynamics alone make this duology worth reading!

Some loves are written in the stars… and some duologies deserve so much more hype. Prophecy and Power is the second book in Amy Yorke’s completed duology, following Alchemy and Ashes, which was easily one of my favorite books of 2025 and, in my opinion, completely slept on. This series deserves to be on way more fantasy romance readers’ radar. This book brings the tension, the stakes, and the emotional payoff. War has come to Selara, Sylvie and Ronan are in high stakes quests and everything feels heavier, darker, and more desperate. I loved how the story expanded beyond just the romance and leaned into rebellion, power, captivity, prophecy, and the cost of trying to save the people you love. One of my favorite parts was the dual POV. Getting both Sylvie and Ronan’s perspectives made the story and plot twists hit so much harder because you feel what each of them is fighting for, what they’re afraid of losing, and how much they’ve changed since book one. Ronan’s chapters especially had that aching, “how far will he go for her?” energy, while Sylvie continued to prove she is not some fragile captive waiting to be rescued. She is clever, determined, and willing to use every bit of power she has. The side characters were also so exciting in this book. They added so much life, tension, and heart to the story, and I loved how the world felt fuller because of them. And that plot twist toward the end? I did not see it coming, and it made the final stretch so hard to put down. This duology has love, war, magic, prophecy, rebellion, emotional stakes, and that delicious feeling of watching characters be pushed to their limits. It’s romantic, tense, and full of heart. If you love completed fantasy romance duologies with dual POV, high stakes, strong side characters, prophecy, power, and a romance that feels like it could burn the whole world down… please pick this one up. I received an advanced reader copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Overall, I really enjoyed this duology so much 🥹
Sylvie and Ronan were everything. I loved how their relationship deepened in this book and their magic progression was insane.
I loved the found family in this book. I found myself loving characters I hated at first and rooting for all of the underdogs. Everyone fighting to get through the war, from all the sad and heavy moments, to the joys and celebration, I felt like I lived it with them 🥹
I really appreciate that the battle scenes and the war descriptions in general were written very clearly and realistically, the back and forth of things going good and then going so wrong had me on the edge of my seat. Overall, really love the magic system of this world and the different creatures as well. The prophecy was wild, but also so good.

Did you ever NOT want a story to end. Ronan and Sylvie's story just had me in a choke hold from book 1. And book 2 was no less. You have them picking up the fight, trying to unite their kingdom, all the while being thrust into a prophecy they didnt know existed. The angst, passion and banter still go on, but you also get the dynamics with the side characters that make it even better. AND that twist I cannot even. I need more and definitely didnt want this to end.

Nothing I love more than having a satisfying end to a duology. We pick up right where we left off and we discover theories, prophecies, new places, new people. The middle of the book was a bit long for my taste, but it's to be expected when a book is over 500 pages long. And also to be expected in a fantasy book, the last 20% is an absolute rollercoaster. Some twists, revelations and lots of action. I'm very happy I was part of the journey !

Thank you to the author for this advanced copy. I loved being back with Ronan and Sylvie. This book picked right back up where book 1 left off and was so action packed. Ronan and Sylvie were even more devoted to each other than ever before and I loved seeing their strengthening connection. The stakes were higher in this book and there were some surprising twists. The side characters were so good and they injected some much needed humor into this otherwise heavy plot. Seth was the star of the book for me (what a little diva) and Taran and Quinn were just as lovable as they were in book 1. This book had everything I wanted - action, twists, romance, humor, amazing characters, heartbreaking moments, prophecy fulfillment, magic and magical creature, and some very satisfying moments to wrap up this amazing Duology.

Prophecy and Power is the conclusion to Amy Yorke's Shadowbound Duet, following Alchemy and Ashes, which was easily one of my favorite reads of 2025 and genuinely one of the most slept on books of the year. If you haven't picked this duology up yet I don't know what you are waiting for.
This book picks up right where book one left off and wastes absolutely no time. The stakes are higher, the twists actually got me, and Ronan and Sylvie are more devoted to each other than ever — which honestly should be illegal because I was not emotionally prepared. Their separation wrecked me in the best possible way. The longing, the unwavering faith they hold for each other even when everything is actively falling apart around them. Ronan's devotion had me in my feelings and Sylvie's resilience had me wanting to stand up and applaud. Together they carry this story with a love that feels genuinely epic without ever losing that quiet emotional intimacy that made me fall for them in book one. Their growth as partners gave me serious Rhys and Feyre ACOTAR vibes — not because they are the same, but because that feeling of two people truly choosing each other through impossible odds hit exactly the same way.
The multiple POVs were handled so well here — every perspective added something real, whether it was heartbreak, levity or a plot twist I did not see coming. The side characters brought some much needed humor into what was otherwise a beautifully heavy story and I loved every single one of them. The emotional payoff at the end hit hard because I was attached to all of them and had no business caring this much. Here we are though.

Arc Review Prophecy & Power
There's always a little bit of nervous excitement when picking up the conclusion to a duet you've fallen in love with. Will it live up to to everything the first book promised? In the case of Prophecy & Power, my answer is an emphatic yes.
After the cliffhanger that ended Alchemy & Ashes, Amy Yorke wastes no time pulling readers right back into the heart of Selara. The stakes are higher, the battles bigger, and every choice carries the weight of an entire kingdom.
One passage in particular stopped me in my tracks. It speaks to how we aren't defined by the choices we make when life is easy, but by the choices we make when everything is hard. While it's in the middle of a fantasy war, it's one of those rare moments that reach beyond the page. It's a reminder that's just as true in our own lives.
Sylvie continues to be one of my favorite heroines. She refuses to be defined by her circumstances, meeting every challenge with intelligence, resilience, and quiet determination. Watching her growth from Book One come full circle was incredibly satisfying.
And then there's Ronan.
If Alchemy & Ashes made me fall in love with him, Prophecy & Power only deepened my admiration. Faced with impossible choices, he constantly wrestles between the man he wants to be and the warrior the world demands. His unwavering devotion to Sylvie is both fierce and deeply tender, culminating in one of the most beautiful declarations of love I've read in a long time. It doesn't simply feel romantic. It feels inevitable, as though destiny had been quietly weaving their story together from the very beginning. In my review of Alchemy & Ashes, I wrote, "His heart is so good." After finishing Prophecy & Power, I stand by that even more. Ronan's strength isn't just found on the battlefield. It's found in every choice he makes to hold onto his humanity when it would be so much easier to let it go. For me, that's what makes him such an unforgettable character.
One of my favorite surprises was watching several side characters evolve in ways I never expected. Amy Yorke reminds us that people are rarely as simple as they first appear, and one particular redemption arc became one of my favorite parts of the entire duet. I also appreciated how naturally the story embraces the idea that love isn't confined to a single mold. It never feels forced, only true to the characters and the world they inhabit.
Amy Yorke once again delivers rich character development and emotional storytelling, weaving together war, prophecy, sacrifice, family, and love into a finale that feels both epic and deeply personal. The best stories don't end when you close the book. They linger in your thoughts, make you revisit favorite passages, and leave you missing characters who never really existed. Prophecy & Power had me in a full-blown chokehold from start to finish. Every time I thought, “Okay, I need to go adult…” two minutes later I was right back at it because this book was ridiculously addictive.
The pacing was relentless in the best possible way. There’s always something happening, another secret unfolding, another impossible choice waiting around the corner, but it flowed effortlessly. The world felt bigger, richer, and more immersive than ever, and I loved getting deeper into both the returning cast and the new characters (*cough* Seth *cough*) IYKYK.

The real heart of this book was Sylvie and Ronan.
Their journey absolutely wrecked me—the separation, the longing, the unwavering faith they have in one another. Even when the world was actively trying to tear them apart, neither of them ever stopped believing in the other. Ronan’s devotion was heartbreaking. And Sylvie’s resilience was awe-inspiring. Together they carried this story with a love that felt epic without ever losing its emotional intimacy.

What I loved most was watching their relationship evolve. The growth between them felt very reminiscent of Rhys and Feyre in ACOTAR. Not because they’re the similar characters, but because they learn to become true partners. They challenge each other, trust each other, support each other through impossible circumstances, and ultimately make each other stronger. Their banter, their understanding, and the way they balance each other had me completely invested.

What I loved most about this sequel was the way the bond between Sylvie and Ronan grew even more intense. Their connection is emotional, magical, and consuming in a way that makes every reunion, every separation, and every sacrifice feel heavy. Ronan’s fear for Sylvie and his willingness to embrace every dangerous part of himself for her gave this book so much tension and heart.
The shadowbound prophecy added a really interesting layer to the story. I loved seeing the pieces slowly come together and watching Sylvie and Ronan realize the true weight of what binds them. The balance between light and shadow, fate and choice, destruction and redemption made the magic feel bigger than just the two of them while still keeping their relationship at the center.
There was also so much happening with the side characters. Taran, Kira, Seth, and Adria all added tension, conflict, and emotional weight to the journey. Seth especially became such an interesting part of the story, and I liked how his knowledge helped uncover more about the prophecy and the history behind their powers.
The second half was intense. Between the rescue, the revelations, the marriage, the poisoned blades, the prophecy, the family betrayals, and the final choice Sylvie and Ronan had to make, the story really leaned into the chaos of war and destiny. I loved that the prophecy was not just about power, but about whether that power would be used to destroy or save.
Sylvie and Ronan’s ending felt earned. Their powers becoming forever inseparable, the golden thread of fate between them, and Sylvie stepping into her place beside Ronan as his wife and future God Queen gave the story a satisfying and emotional close.
Overall, Prophecy and Power was a strong sequel filled with war, prophecy, sacrifice, betrayal, and a love powerful enough to reshape the world. I really enjoyed the magic, the emotional stakes, and the way Sylvie and Ronan’s bond carried the story.

What a FINALE! 5⭐️!!!
Alchemy and Ashes was one of my top reads in January, and book #2 just not disappoint.
One thing that I can promise with this duet is that the twists and turns never stop!
The story picks up right we were left off in book #1. And even though I was worried that that situation will be dragged, as I have experienced it with many book series, it did just not happen.
Our FMC and MMC were true to their character traits, and all developed naturally. Even if the development pissed me off sometimes 😄. I wanted to judge them, I really did, but it makes sense. Savior complex is a real thing.
- World building - even stronger than in A&A. Traveling outside of Selara, meeting new landscapes that make sense and adding to the plot.
- Magic system - expanded, even though I did not think it would be possible.
- Plot - unexpected. There were times I thought that I knew what would happen, and I was just wrong.
Apart from constant plot twists and action chapters, what I liked the most, as I am sure many will is Sylvie's brother Seth. His character became so interesting as the story progressed. It's impossible to comment on anything about him without literally spoiling the book, but he really added the energy to the story without taking the spotlight from Sylvie and Ronan.
The spice was around 3🌶️, and it somehow became important for the plot, even though the story is heavy on fantasy elements. That was a serious surprise.
Now, if you are an experienced romantasy/fantasy romance reader, you already know if everyone is happy and lovey dovey and you still didn't hit the 80% mark, SOMETHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN - that anxiety kept me up all night reading, as again - unexpected twists! Really did not see that coming. Didn't cry, but it was a close call.
Having survived that, the ending was perfect!
We got what we were promised!
I wholeheartedly recommend this series to romantasy and fantasy romance readers who like stories packed with good world building, lore, ominous prophecy, and of course FOUND FAMILY.

This STUNNING conclusion to the Soundbound Duet was phenomenal!! I cannot express how much I enjoyed this book! I mean all the emotions were there, crying, laughing, throwing of things, sighing, scowling, the fear, the throwing of things, holding your breath... All the emotions needed to be completely unwell by the end!
I would love to see more of this world! All the characters were amazing! It would be really fun to see more of it! But the is a side note, wishful thinking on my end.
This moved along really well, there was barely a moments rest but it flowed really well. I was enthralled with all of the characters not just the main ones, who I know and love. BUT the new ones, the ones you didn't think you would like. Laughing at them because some of them are so outlandish. (Seth...😉)
This book was hard to set down, the deeper and deeper you get into the book. Sometimes I would set it down, only two seconds later to pick it up again because I just couldn't help myself.
Sylvie and Ronan take you on the best ride. You get to know them so much better than int he first book, you get deeper into their relationship and feelings. Their banter, their love for each other other it just takes you on the best ride. I loved seeing them grow as a couple and dealing with everything that was springing up around them.
This book is multiple POV between the FMC and the MMC. The more I read this book the more attached and addicted I got. All the side characters that you get introduced to in the first book, most are in the second and you get new ones! I love that they only add to the flow of the book and not take away. It just added more of depth to this book giving it so much more!
I really have so much to say but I don't want to ruin it for anyone. If I do give something away, I would never forgive myself.
But I do leave this with you, this book was so well written and I loved every single part of it! I am so sad that this is a duet. I cannot wait to see what Amy Yorke creates next!

It was a journey to get to the end of this story. A very winding and twisty journey, but one that was absolutely worth it.
Just like in Alchemy and Ashes, Amy Yorke's writing is descriptive and engaging without ever becoming overwhelming. The transitions between POVs are seamless, keeping the story moving forward without unnecessary overlap or rehashing of events. Every perspective adds something to the story.
This book picks up right where Alchemy and Ashes leaves off, which I always appreciate. After that crushing cliffhanger at the end of book one, I was more than ready to jump back into Sylvie and Ronan's story.
While book one left me reeling, this book delivered plenty of slightly heartbreaking moments of its own, along with more than a few "what were you thinking?" moments. But honestly, if a story can make me feel that strongly about the characters and their choices, it is doing something right.
The world-building was largely established in book one, which allows this book to focus almost entirely on the story and the plot. The questions are simple enough: Who will win the war? Will everyone survive? The path Amy Yorke takes to answer those questions is anything but simple. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way, with action balanced by quieter character moments that never allow the story to lose momentum.
The banter between Sylvie and Ronan is just as good as it was in the first book. And Ronan's dad jokes? Definitely eye-roll worthy. Sylvie certainly seems to think so, and honestly, I was right there with her.
One of my favorite parts of this book was getting to know Sylvie's brother, Seth, better. I know he is not going to be everyone's favorite character, but there was something about the way he interacted with the rest of the cast that I found incredibly entertaining. Every time he appeared on the page, I wanted to see what he was going to do or say next.
I am sad to see the Shadowbound Duet come to an end, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. If you loved Alchemy and Ashes, I think you will be more than satisfied with how this story concludes.

This is why I love duets/duologies! You stay on track and keep right to the point without all the fluff of a drawn out series, and this is a great example of that!
I LOVED book 1, Alchemy & Ashes and could not wait for book 2! And we pick up right where we left off at book one and don’t let off the gas from there.
Sylvie was kidnapped (again…she seems to have bad luck 😂) by an unknown assailant. And with turning against her family for the man she loves and the betterment of the kingdom, she has many people lining up to take their revenge on her. Just when Sylvie thinks she’ll be battling her family on her own, an unexpected ally emerges from the last place she expects. She knows she has to get back to Ronan and will do anything she can to do so. And Ronan…he’ll burn the world down to get her back.
A prophecy is lingering between them, but one no one seems to know about or truly understand. And even once clarity comes to light, are they destined to save their world…or destroy it?
We have so many different things happening in this story. Plans go awry, battles are fought, and magic is tested. And while both Sylvie and Ronan would sacrifice themselves for the other, are they willing to sacrifice each other for the world? And they face trials curved to test them (in an almost Indiana Jones-esque I’m calling it style trials. I loved it! 😂)
Ronan is one of my favorite MMC’s I’ve read this year. The devotion and love that man has for Sylvie 😍 also, we get a relationship from some side characters develop that even though it’s not directly their POVs, we still see it unfold and it had me kicking my feet as well 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I kind of need a novella for them, just saying 🤣
We have multiple scenes of spice 🌶️ one may involve doing very naughty things on a very holy space 🥵🥵
Overall, a great duology to read with a unique magic system and characters you come to love and hate, and some twists and turns you do not see coming!

Having read the ARC for Book 1 of the Shadowbound Duet (Alchemy & Ashes), giving it 5⭐ I had high hopes when I received the ARC from @amy.e.yorke for book 2 and let me tell you... Prophecy & Power did not disappoint. The progression from A&A to P&P was seamless, building from where we left off with Sylvie and Ronan, but also building the use of their magic, the depth of their world and what I feel this story hinged mostly on... the strength of their relationships. And I don't mean just each other. The found family in this was fantastic! What I took away from reading Prophecy & Power was the growth of relations --- personal; Intimate; and those with family and friends. The growth of their magic, was symbolic in the growth of their relationship. And Sylvie and Ronan's relationship was a representation of what working toward a healthy relationship looks like. This book offered healing for these characters, and I don't just mean the FMC and MMC, the found family were wonderful, and the parts they played were magnificent (I just adore Seth). They learned how to communicate, to give space when it was needed, even though it was difficult, to step up when one is down, and becoming a different person, a better person by taking on the better qualities of the person that they love. This duology was a study in forgiveness and growth and changing for the better.
Don't get me wrong, the moving pieces in this story, had me on the edge of my seat. I flew through this book, not wanting to put it down. The elements at play had me guessing, and even had me saying "Wow... did not see that coming!"
If you are looking for a book that has great characters, a moving plot that's gripping and intriguing, then I'm telling you, you want to read Alchemy & Ashes & Prophecy & Power.

Prophecy & Power by Amy Yorke is a breathtaking fantasy romance that earned every single star for me. This is the conclusion of the Shadowbound Duet, and reading it as the final chapter made the emotional payoff hit harder than I could have imagined. War has come to Selara, Sylvie is gone, ripped from God-King Ronan just as the city falls under siege, and the loss awakens a part of him he's spent years burying—the part that knows how to win a war at any cost.
Ronan must decide whether the man Sylvie loved is strong enough to save her, or whether the warrior he once was is the only one who can bring her home. Behind enemy lines, Sylvie has already chosen her side. Her captors believe her love for Ronan makes her easy to break, but they've underestimated the woman they stole. She'll wield every power she has—magic, charm, or deception—to win her freedom and gather allies for the war to come.
What made this a five-star read for me was how the story balances war, prophecy, and the bond between Sylvie and Ronan. The whispers of a long-buried prophecy begin to resurface, one tied to the bond they've never been able to explain. If it's true, it may be the key to saving the realm—or it might just be the spark that sets it ablaze.
Yorke writes with a sharp, dark voice that doesn't shy away from the darkness these characters bring with them. Prophecy & Power was an incredible conclusion to this duet. Amy Yorke crafted an adventure that kept me invested from beginning to end, and one of my favorite parts was how relatable the characters felt. Their struggles, doubts, and triumphs made it easy to become emotionally invested in their journey.
Sylvie's character development was my favorite part of the book. She truly grew into her own, becoming stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically. Watching her deepen her understanding of both her magic and the prophecy was so satisfying. I also appreciated that her relationship with Ronan wasn't perfect. Their faith in each other was tested, but seeing that trust rebuilt made their relationship feel genuine and earned.
I loved the contrast between how Sylvie and Ronan viewed the prophecy. While they each experienced it differently, Ronan never lost hope, even when everything seemed to be working against him. Sometimes distance has a way of bringing clarity, and I loved watching Sylvie discover what truly mattered. The way everything ultimately came together was beautiful and far more satisfying than I expected.

Sylvie is an FMC that is also good and works hard to do the right thing. Shes tough and smart and makes the hard choices, even when it hurts he to do so. When choosing Ronan means leaving behind the vengeance she has sought for most of her life, she is forced to dea with the fallout from her family and the forces that are working to keep them apart.
I truly enjoyed their journey and how they came together in this story. Not only did they have to fight to be together and find their happiness, but along with that they are fighting to save the world from the destructive path it is on. The spicy pull between the two MCs is hot and keeps things interesting throught the book.
This is an absolute must read if you enjoy romantasy books with multiple romances, battles and intrigue, and two characters that are truly good at heart and have to fight hard to do what is right.

Meanwhile, Sylvie immediately begins working to undermine her captors, uncovering secrets tied to an ancient prophecy and the bond she shares with Ronan. As the conflict escalates, both must decide how much they are willing to sacrifice to save not only each other, but their kingdom. Or if one can even be saved without losing the other.
The characters are easily the strongest part of this finale. Several surprised me in ways I wasn't expecting, and I always enjoy when a story allows its cast to grow beyond the roles they initially seem destined to play. Seth was a particular standout. He's delightfully... not a good person, but in a way that made him consistently entertaining to read. Ronan and Sylvie also remain a compelling central couple. Rather than manufacturing (unnecessary) relationship drama, the story lets them stay unapologetically in love while the conflict comes from the world around them, which I appreciated.
The pacing is a little uneven, with a great deal happening at both the beginning and end while the middle slows considerably. There is also one twist that felt a bit more familiar than I was hoping for, though I'll avoid specifics for spoiler reasons. Even so, the major story and character arcs are wrapped up in a satisfying way, and the expanding scope of the conflict feels earned. ❤️ World Building: The world building was mostly covered in the first book, but there were new places to explore in this book, and those were well described and invoked imagery while reading it.
❤️ The Characters: I loved the characters of this duet. In this book we got to know more about Seth and who he is as a brother, a strategist, and as a lover. He’s just a fascinating character and I really enjoyed learning more about him in this book. Sylvara & Ronan were still an adorable couple even when everything seems dead set on keeping them from each other! The other characters also really stood out in this book!
❤️ The Story: The story was fabulous! There were so many different little plots within the main story that really helped move the story along. There was redemption for several characters, ones I wasn’t even expecting, but made the story all the more moving.
❤️🔥Overall: This is a stunning duet! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes romantasy with prophecies and Indiana Jones style relic hunting.

After loving Alchemy and Ashes, I was incredibly excited to dive into Prophecy and Power. While this sequel took the story in a different direction than I expected, I still found a lot to enjoy.
The characters continue to be the heart of this series. Sylvie and Ronan’s devotion to one another is unwavering, and I especially loved seeing Seth step into a much larger role. He was easily one of my favorite surprises of the book—a wonderfully theatrical, morally complicated character whose dry humor added some much-needed levity without taking away from the emotional stakes.
I also appreciated how the story continued exploring family, loyalty, and the choices we make when the people we love find themselves on opposite sides of a war. Some of the emotional moments genuinely landed, particularly those surrounding loss and sacrifice.
Going in, I expected to spend more time exploring the gods, the prophecy, the political tensions, and the broader world that fascinated me in book one. And while it did explore those themes, the story leaned more heavily into the central romance and the prophecy itself. While I enjoyed both, I found myself wishing some of the larger questions and storylines had been explored in greater depth before introducing new ones.
I appreciated the ambition of the story, the emotional beats, and the satisfying conclusion for these characters. As an ARC reader, I also recognize that some elements may evolve before publication.
Overall, this was a solid conclusion to the duology. It may not have captured me in quite the same way as Alchemy and Ashes, but I still enjoyed spending time with these characters and will absolutely be keeping an eye on what Amy Yorke writes next.

Prophecy & Power is the second and final book in The Shadowbound Duet, and I thought it was a very satisfying conclusion to the series. If you enjoyed the first book, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this one as well.
Sylvie and Ronan’s reunion is worth the wait, and the chemistry between them is as strong as ever. I loved the devotion and loyalty they show each other throughout the story, even when others around them question their relationship or try to influence their choices.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was the pacing. While I liked the first book, I felt that Prophecy & Power flowed much better overall. The story moved at a steady pace, keeping me engaged from beginning to end without feeling rushed. The plot developments felt natural, and the transitions between scenes and storylines were smooth, making it an easy and enjoyable read.
The writing was strong, the character development was well handled, and there was a consistent sense of tension throughout the novel that kept me invested in the outcome. I also enjoyed seeing the characters grow and face the challenges put before them as the story built towards its conclusion.
Overall, I had a great time reading this book and found it to be a fitting end to the duet. Absolutely incredible! But honestly, that’s exactly what I was expecting.
Prophecy & Power picks up right where the first book lets off, and let me tell you, it pulls you through an emotional roller coaster. Like Ronan feels emotions, I was feeling all the emotions while reading this.
There’s something so magical about falling into a world so effortlessly that you never want to leave. That’s exactly how I felt about this one. I’m so terribly sad to no longer have these characters as part of my life. I grew so attached to each and every one of them through this journey. Weirdly enough, especially Seth! He was so dramatic and entertaining through this whole book.
Ronan of course is my favorite, with Sylvie not too far behind. Talk about a magical couple (literally!!).
If you loved the first book in this series, you’ll absolutely love this one. It takes the stakes and world and ups them to a whole other level. I had such a blast with this one. It feels so epic and amazing.

Prophecy & Power, Book 2 of the Shadowbound Duet, picks up right where Alchemy & Ashes left off. Sylvie has been taken and Ronan is on the hunt to find her. The separation doesn’t last incredibly long , though, thank goodness. But along the way, we meet a few more characters, including Sylvie’s brother, Seth. He is unhinged, a bit insane, and hilarious!
The battle with Adria over Faros continues while Ronan’s and Sylvie’s powers continue to grow. Visions of the prophecy, too, become more frequent prompting them to find what it could mean for the war with Adria and the kingdom.
There isn’t the level of tension of an enemies to lovers tale with this book, but there is some tension for other plot twisty reasons. The found family, however, is really strong. The secondary characters are so easy to love. And Sylvie and Ronan’s love is stronger than ever!
I absolutely recommend reading the Shadowbound Duet. And Prophecy & Power is a fantastic finale to the story!

Alchemy & Ashes was one of my top reads last year, and somehow Prophecy & Power topped even that. I was on the edge of my seat for 99% of this book and definitely cried more than once. There were also a few twists that I didn't expect (especially THAT one)
The worldbuilding was immersive, and I loved feeling like I was right there alongside with Ronan and Sylvie every step of the way. They have my whole heart, and I absolutely love them together. They understand and balance each other so well. It was also so good to be back with Kira (I love her so much), Taran, Larus and Quinn while getting to know some new people. Seth had me laughing the entire time, and I absolutely need a novella about him and you know who. He is such a diva.
I'm sad this story is over, but I'm also so happy with how everything turned out. This is a duology I'll be recommending for the rest of my life. Absolute god-tier.
