If my son wasn’t sick while I was reading this I absolutely would have read this book in one sitting! So good!! This is part of a series that can be read as a standalone, I need to go and read the rest I’m so invested in this world. I loved how protective Maverick is of this family. If you’re into a second chance forbidden romance give this a read! I hope to hear more about Mav and Tavi future books whether it’s either a sequel or in other interconnected stories

I genuinely didn’t know how to put this review into words when I finished—this book left me completely speechless in the best possible way. From start to finish, it was an emotional rollercoaster, and the intensity of every feeling was so vivid it felt like I was living it right alongside the characters. Maverick is book 2 in the Shackled Sons MC: Sydney series but it can be read as a standalone. This is second chance forbidden romance.
Maverick and Tavi had a night of flirting that ended with just that. She ended up with the wrong man that night, ended up getting pregnant, having his child and married to him. But he is not a nice or good man. He abuses Tavi to the point of hospitalization. When Maverick sees Tavi and what she's going through, he wants to help her get out and away from her husband.
Maverick is an amazing man. He has kids of his own, but he knows what life in the club entails and to keep them safe, he split with their mother. He does try to see them when he can though. Now that he has Tavi though, the chemistry they shared all those nights ago reignites. He knows one thing though. He can't keep her. Because of the danger it would pose. He does try to keep a distance from her, but he can't help it. He's drawn to her like a moth to a flame. But then he learns some things about her, about her family, and the club her family is affiliated with, which is a rival to his. It puts everything in jeopardy.
I loved Tavi and Maverick. The way it's always been her for him, even after all the years that went by. How he tattooed an image resembling her on his body after just that one night. I love how big Mavericks heart is and how much he loves his kids, Tavi, but also Tavi's son too. This was a great story. Well written and captivating. It kept me hooked to the plot and I read this in one sitting!

This book had me in a chokehold from start to finish….and I’d do it all again
I’ve spent far to long working out how I was going to word this and decided just to go in for a good old fashioned ramble 😅
I have read my fair share of Kate’s book, and I’ve not disliked a single one - but this, this book will go down as one of my absolute tops from her!
From start to finish you are in your feels, in every single way! She has you happy, sad, laughing, crying🫣 and she will break you! BUT she will put you back together I promise!
Tavi needs help, she goes to the only place she think she can get the help, but at what cost?
Maverick let her go once, and he’s regretted it since, she has what he wanted, and he’s not letting her go again without a fight!
These 2 hold a piece of my soul, their connection, their ups and downs and the way they handle them is something to be admired! You feel like you are right there with them! Kate has a way with words that has you holding on for dear life, in the best and worst ways.
Once you start this you will want to devour it continuously! Even now it’s easy to forget this was just a fictional Story! She has handled every part with finesse and this is why I keep coming back to her! She will forever be my fave!

Maverick was a brilliant follow-up to Reaper, the first novel in the Shackled Sons series by Kate Bonham. Kate pulls you into this world with her incredible storytelling and quite frankly refuses to let you go. This is MC romance done right. I absolutely loved this book and already cannot wait for Shadow’s story.
Maverick was such a heartbreakingly strong character. His loyalty, resilience, and unwavering love for his family and brothers shone through in every chapter. Watching him carry the weight of his past and torture himself for years in an attempt to keep those he loves safe made him impossible not to connect with.
Tavi was equally compelling. After such a traumatic and powerless beginning to life, seeing her slowly find her strength and reclaim herself was incredibly satisfying. She’s the kind of FMC you can’t help but root for and fall in love with along the way.
This book delivered everything I want from an MC romance — emotion, tension, heartbreak, healing, and characters that stay with you long after the final page.

Maverick is tasked with keeping Tavi safe as her ex is looking for her. You are going to love the relationship that Maverick has with his ex and while I didn't agree with what he did I understood it and my heart broke for him.
Tavi is a stong FMC doing what she needs to do to keep her child safe. When these two enter each others orbits the sparks start to fly and there is no denying the chemistry they have.
This book is well rounded as are the characters. With Club Drama, enemies to spare an characters that you are going to love there really is no reason not to read this wonderful novel.

Maverick is the VP Of the Shacked Sons, and he and Tavi almost had a moment 5-years previously, before she disappeared. Now 5-years later, Tavi is back, she is a single mom to her son, and is on the run from an abusive husband, who is a member of her brother’s MC. Maverick will do whatever he must to keep Tavi safe and protected.
This is a well written gritty, intense, and action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, tension, angst, loyalty, secrets, sacrifices, making choices, enemies / lovers, second chances, revelations, survival, palpable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, unpredictable, and heartfelt, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I was not expecting to connect with our main characters, Tavi and Maverick to the level in which I did. They were both fantastic in their own rights but as a couple...they were downright extraordinary.
There is nothing I can fault about this story - it was perfection.

I was confident that I knew what to expect from a Kate Bonham rollercoaster.
Clearly, I was mistaken.
The highs were high, the lows were....forcing me to send messages to the author simply asking "What is wrong with you"
I was assured that the journey and the destruction of my soul on a Wednesday afternoon was entirely worth it and that I should "Trust the process"
In an attempt to show who was boss, I put the book in the naughty corner for a while. Then found myself picking up my kindle in the middle of the night cause I just had to know how it ended.
Every bit of the heartache I was subjected to throughout this book was absolutely necessary and absolutely worth it!

I started it last night and could not put it down. I needed to know how this story ended.
Don’t get me wrong, it was definitely a spicy read 👀… but I wasn’t expecting it to hit me emotionally the way it did. With the kids involved, some parts really got to me, and I didn’t see that coming at all.
Maverick being so protective over Tavi? I loved that so much. From the very beginning, he just knew she was his, and that kind of love always pulls me in. And everything Tavi had to go through… it made me so mad at times. I literally had to remind myself “this is just a book” because I was getting way too invested 😂

I was gripped from the absolute first chapter and couldn't put it down.
Please make sure you read the trigger warnings for this one, horrendous torture is endured by Tavi but it builds incredible respect for her character.

I was gripped from the absolute first chapter and couldn't put it down.
Please make sure you read the trigger warnings for this one, horrendous torture is endured by Tavi but it builds incredible respect for her character.

I genuinely didn’t know how to put this review into words when I finished Maverick: A Forbidden Second Chance Romance, this book left me completely speechless in the best possible there were scenes that didn’t just break me... they completely shattered just the powerful dynamic between Maverick and Tavi was electricfying

Then Tavi, and her son, enters his life again after 5 years, fleeing from an abusive husband. She is his second chance to have a happy family life but again, he is uncertain that she will be safe because of his MC life. She happens to be the reason he is able to not only connect with his kids and ex-wife Mari but also have a chance at an HEA with Tavi.
A very heartwarming story of family life along with found family, and enduring love. A great edition to this series.

This happens to be book two of the Shackled Sons Mc Sydney Chapter and the story of Tavi & Maverick this was a second chance romance, and they had met five years before at the club because she came to the club and was supposed to be with Maverick that night, but he had to leave to go out on club business. She ends up with the man she thought was a boyfriend, but they are married and he is super abusive she ends up going to club garage to try to get help her son see Maverick and was calling him dad. Wel after that Maverick finds out hubby is hurting her because she is brought to ER when he was there and was upset about her son.

I loved this story. Tavi married the wrong one but had a wonderfully sweet son, Van. Violence had her contacting Maverick for assistance. They had a quick meeting in the past, and she felt he would help.
It was so cute how Maverick, who had his own children-related issues, fell for Van. Secrets and surprise connections pushed this relationship apart, but the chemistry drew them together. There were so many people to support and protect them. Tavi and Maverick's doubts about their true feelings made them very relatable. At times, tears fell, lips smiled, and fingers crossed. I look forward to the next instalment.

This is book 2 in the Shackled Sons Mc Sydney and is about the VP Maverick. Maverick made a choice a long time ago that has kept him separated from those he loves. Watching them from the distance, it is a bit of a second chance romance. He met his woman a few years before but nothing happened. Tavi instead ends up with a man who she believed was just a boyfriend. Only to learn they are so much more to each other. She is living with an abusive man and takes a chance in seeing Maverick again. When alarm bells go off and signs show Mave she is being hurt. He steps in and does what he can while maintaining distance at first. Yet when he decides he's all in, well he's all in.

This book is a 10/10. Kate writing is getting better with each book she writes. If she's not making us cry she is making us scream and want to throw things and scream at her.
As much as my heart was torn apart reading Maverick, it was also put back together in more ways then one. The roller coaster of emotions did not stop until the end.

Fantastic, such an enjoyable read. I absolutely loved Maverick and Tavi’s story ❤️❤️❤️ A man who wanted to keep his family safe, falling in love again and wanting to keep her safe, poor Maverick broke my heart at how he realises he’s failed at that but he will prevail, he will fix what’s broken. It’s a heartfelt story that grabs at your imagination and keeps hold until the end. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤

Maverick is the Vic-President of the Shackled Sons (Sydney Chapter) MC. Tavi is the sister of the new Ironeborne Crew MC President and a single mom. This is a formula for a smooth road to their HEA, right? A nice, clean story?? No. It isn't. He is in an MC and she knows how club brothers think. It is a page-turner for sure! There is found family, strong characters, second chances, scene stealing children and of course bad guys who need to be taken care of. I highly recommend this book and this series!

Shackled Sons MC book 2 is VP Maverick and Tavi's story and let me tell ya, you feel EVERYTHING in this one. This book is so emotional, every emotion. I was happy, sad, angry, hysterical, you name it, it was felt. This is a very well written story that completely consumed me from the start and held tight all the way through. It's a second chance, single Dad/Mom enemies to lovers of sorts journey with chemistry so hot between these characters it's palpable. Definitely a great addition to this series and a journey you don’t want to miss.

Tavi and Maverick had issues each but together they overcame them, they brought out the better of each and healed some hurts, soothed over the harder stuff.
They both pined for years over a brief interaction but Maverick took it to a level of obsession but in a good way.
Enjoyed it just as i did with Reaper and look forward to the rest of the series.

I read this one in about a day!
There were okay things I liked about this book that are different than most in this genre.
1. Mavericks sacrifice to do anything for his family even stay out of their lives.
2. The way Maverick and ex-wife get along. That was unbelievably refreshing
3. The emotional ups and downs of Tavis experience and how when it’s meant to be life finds a way

This story is messy, complicated, and will take you on a rollercoaster ride that will leave you speechless with all the healing, and family growth that will leave you speechless. Maverick and Tavi have a connection that will be tested with family, growth, healing, ups and downs and more. The intensity of everything makes it feel like you are there the whole time watching and supporting Mav and Tavi.
