When the forest remembers what you've forgotten, survival means learning magic you never knew ran in your blood.
Michael Harrington thought moving to Hollow Pines meant safety—a fresh start in a town wrapped in mountain mist and old superstitions. But when his son Nate dies and comes back different, Michael's careful world unravels. The werewolf pack isn't just legend. The Alpha's grey eyes see too much. And the forest has been waiting for the Harrington bloodline to come home.
Daniel Callahan has carried his pack through wars and grief, buried too many he loved, and locked his heart behind Alpha authority that never bends. Until Michael—stubborn, human, impossible Michael—walks into his territory and makes Daniel want things he swore he'd never risk again. But wanting isn't safe in Hollow Pines. Someone is poisoning the ancient wards from the inside. Corrupted wolves hunt under a wrong-colored moon. And when Michael's latent magic awakens in blood and moonlight, he becomes the key to a ritual that could unleash something worse than death.
As betrayal carves wounds deeper than claws and a dark witch's hunger spreads like rot through the forest, Michael and Daniel must protect what they love or survive what's coming.
In Hollow Pines, the moon marks its chosen. The forest keeps its dead. And some magic demands a price paid in heartbeats.
Moonrise is a stunning sequel that balances profound grief with the quiet, aching emergence of hope. More than a paranormal romance, it’s a deeply emotional story about survival after loss, the courage it takes to love again, and the slow, deliberate creation of something resembling home.
Michael and Daniel are shaped by sorrow in different ways—one carrying a wound that’s fresh and bleeding, the other bearing scars that never truly fade. Their bond grows from this shared understanding, and it’s handled with remarkable sensitivity. Neither man is asked to forget what he’s lost; instead, their connection forms as a gentle, tentative step forward. The transition from guarded companionship to something deeper feels organic, earned, and beautifully restrained.
Hollow Pines itself becomes even more vivid in this installment. The ancient forest pulses with quiet menace and magic, serving as both sanctuary and threat. Beneath the beauty lies danger—pack politics, dark forces, and an unseen enemy steadily tightening its grip. The tension is constant, but the story’s true power comes from its emotional stakes: the guilt of moving on, the fear of vulnerability, and the instinctive need to protect what little remains.
Seeing familiar characters grow was a joy—particularly Nate and Evan, whose relationship brings warmth and emotional grounding amid the chaos. Still, it’s the evolving dynamic between Michael and Daniel that anchors the story, drawing you in with its honesty and depth.
This book doesn’t just tug at your heart—it settles in and refuses to let go. Be ready to feel everything.

Book 2 of Wild Moon comes after tragedy, near death experiences, striking realizations and threats that continue to loom. If you have not caught up on Book 1 then I highly suggest that you do because it is critical to this story. This story focuses on the Dads. Daniel and Michael became important figures in Book 1 and have always been important to their sons. Daniel is the Alpha of the pack and definitely carries himself as such. Every decision he makes is important to the survival of the pack and can have repercussions for years to come. Michael is a simple man, who has recently experienced loss, which he has in common with Daniel. Both men have lost the great love of their life and don't think it is possible to love that way again. But the more time they spend together, the more time they learn each other's idiosyncrasies, the more they just sit with one another the more it is harder to deny there is something there that is strong. There is a simmer rising to a boil but both men fear this connection and all that may come with it. On top of all of that, there is a lone wolf who has made his way to their territory, and it is hard to tell if he is a friend or foe. I wavered so much about his existence and how he could fit into the pack. The threats they've experienced now come often and are swift. They have a new life within them and it makes it so very dangerous. Everyone will be touched and affected by the things that linger in the dark. Daniel and Michael are willing to take the leap and while their life together seems to be quite easy, everything else around them is rapidly changing. Book 3 is going to be absolutely insane thanks to the final page of this one.

Moonrise is a breathtaking sequel that masterfully intertwines heart-wrenching grief with the slow, tender bloom of new love. This is not just a paranormal romance; it's a beautiful exploration of healing, finding strength after devastating loss, and the quiet magic of building a family.
Having loved and lost before, both Michael and Daniel are characters carved from pain and resilience. Watching them navigate their shared understanding of grief, one fresh and raw, the other a familiar, lingering ache, was deeply moving. Their connection doesn't erase the past but builds a fragile, hopeful bridge over it, and their journey from cautious allies to something more is written with exquisite patience and care.
The world of Hollow Pines expands beautifully here. The ancient, sentient forest and the lurking magical threats provide a tense, atmospheric backdrop that is both beautiful and terrifying. The plot is gripping, full of pack politics, dark magic, and a looming enemy that forces our characters to their limits. While the external conflict is compelling, the true heart of the story lies in the internal battles: the guilt of moving on, the fear of new love, and the fierce need to protect what remains.
I loved seeing beloved characters evolve, especially Nate and Evan, whose relationship adds a sweet, stabilizing warmth. The new dynamics and the subtle, growing bond between Michael and Daniel are the emotional core that will have you utterly invested.
Moonrise is the second book in the wild moon series. This series is truly magical reading this I felt myself being drawn into this amazing world even more, if I could be part of a pack I would choose this one. Daniel and Michael are perfect for each other! I don’t really want to say anything that could ruin the story, but it really is a must read for anyone who loves wolfs and witches. cal and mason definitely bring some humour into the books their banter is everything. Rafe i kind of expected what was going on and i was just as disappointed as Daniel! I cried, I laughed and got totally immersed in the story. Can’t wait for the next book what a cliffhanger!!
If you didn't ready boo#1 - Pause and go read that first. It has so much in the setting that you need to know rolling into this book.
I always know to expect a roller coaster when it comes to Ken Sanchez. I really enjoyed Michael and Daniel - they are such good characters. There is a lot to keep up with and a lot of continued world building so make sure you are clocked in! I did enjoy this book, some points were a bit confusing, so I found myself going back and re-read a bit but again, good story!
Where to begin other that WTF? Are you serious? Wow.
Sometimes trauma connects people and in this case the author does it beautifully. Although the couple are both established gentleman and had their lives before each other it suits the story and I immediately fell in love with both of them.
Now, I feel empty and want to know more about the pack and the Evernight forest. Hopefully it will be soon. 😍❤️
I'm even more speechless than I was after reading the first book. Wow, I love everything about this, the world building is insane, the magic and everything is just so good. And if it didn't have any spice it would still be so good but with the spice it had it just elevated everything. Michael and Daniel are meant for each other even after everything they've been through. The betrayal and the ending, wow. I can't wait for more!
This was an excellent follow up to the first book! It was packed with so much emotion and action I was flipping through these pages one moment emotional the next my jaw was on the floor. High recommended you read the first one you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to see what Ken comes up with next!.

Amazing story of Michael and Daniel, and in this case I will add Hollow Pines as a character as well. Couldn't stop reading, and found myself thinking about this book while doing other things. Can't recommend enough!!
