I laughed, I cried, I fell in love all over again—with these amazing characters. If my family were magically inclined/supernatural, this would be us. Quirky, bickering, lovable, messy, beautiful chaos. Deliciously dark where it needs to be. Funny in all the right places. Hitting the softest places of my heart like it has them mapped out. This is a ‘Can’t Miss’ read.

If Christmas had fangs, sarcasm, and a deeply questionable guest list, it would look exactly like A Very Supernatural Christmas. This book is not just festive—it’s feral, chaotic, and so outrageously funny it should probably come with a warning label and a glass of something strong.

Let’s be clear: if you love the Unnatural Brethren, this one feels like coming home for the holidays… only to realize your family includes vampires, witches, and beings who should never, ever be trusted with holiday planning. Silvana G. Sánchez once again does what she does best: turns dysfunction into an art form and wraps it in tinsel dipped in dark humor.

Ivan, our beloved vampire and eternal narrator of poor life choices, steals the show—as expected. His voice is sharp, sarcastic, and perfectly unimpressed by the madness unfolding around him. Watching this entire Christmas catastrophe through his eyes is half the joy. The other half is seeing how spectacularly wrong a “simple” holiday gathering can go when supernatural beings and unresolved chaos are involved. Spoiler: disaster is not just possible, it’s scheduled.

Despite the mayhem (or rather, because of it), the book is fast-paced, action-packed, and laugh-out-loud funny in that deliciously dark way that makes you feel slightly unhinged for enjoying it so much. Every scene lands, every joke hits, and not a single word feels out of place. Editing? Timing? Execution? Impeccable. This is one of those rare reads where you wouldn’t dare touch a sentence—because perfection, darling, should be left alone.

As a holiday book, it’s unconventional. As a supernatural romp, it’s elite. As a year-ender? Absolutely flawless. The perfect brooch to close the year with blood, chaos, and festive insanity.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be patiently (read: not patiently at all) waiting for the next generation of vampire-witches to arrive. I’ll be there on day one, popcorn in hand, tea in the other, cheering like it’s a front-row seat to the most unhinged family saga ever written.

One morning, Silvana G. Sanchez woke up and realized her series of supernatural chaos, dark broody shapeshifters, and witches simply needed a Christmas episode. Naturally, she wrote it—and absolutely nailed it.

Silvana G. Sanchez masterfully transforms a supernatural family of shapeshifters and witches into something wonderfully familiar, capturing the warmth and chaos of an everyday human family at Christmas.

From the very first page, the story grips you and never lets go. The sharp, quick-witted sarcasm had me laughing out loud, only to be followed moments later by an unexpected emotional gut punch that left me teary-eyed. It’s a heartfelt, funny, and deeply moving read that balances humor and emotion with remarkable skill.

This may be a quick-witted novella she has added to her arsenal of novels, but it alone has made me eager to dive headfirst into the Unnatural Brethren series.

I look forward to reading more from this amazing author in the future

。˚. ❄️I was kindly sent an ARC Copy ❄️ 。˚.

I really enjoyed this short read, Christmas in May was a great idea and I really liked the meaning and motivation behind it all. I went into this without having read the actually series but I have to say these characters have caught my interest and i definitely will be going back to read the first books. I loved the humour and simple conversations, they had me smiling especially Ivan and his sarcasm.

I would recommend reading the books before this one to really get all the context for what was going on, however, I still very much enjoyed this read so it all worked out for me!

Also Katya was a cutie and who wouldn’t want it to snow indoors and ruin the carpets. Overall this was a really nice short read, while I didn’t know the context for these characters actions I felt that it didn’t matter that I hadn’t read the first few books as things were explained perfectly so I got the idea pretty quickly and it’s peaked my interest!

A Very Supernatural Christmas by Silvana G. Sánchez was such a fun, chaotic, and surprisingly wholesome holiday read. It’s not your typical cozy Christmas story , it’s got supernatural drama, messy emotions, and that “everything is going wrong but it’s still kind of perfect” vibe.
What I loved most was the found family feel. The characters are all kinds of supernatural chaos, but their bond and the way they show up for each other makes the story really heartwarming. There’s also a nice romantic touch in between all the madness, and the banter with interactions kept me entertained the whole time.
It’s a short novella, so it doesn’t go super deep, but it’s perfect if you want something quick, festive, and different, like a paranormal Christmas special with humor, heart, and mayhem.

This book is amazing! Starting with that wonderful picture at the beginning, which should be a poster or a 1,000 piece puzzle, just gorgeous! Then we have the intro from Ivan and Cassandra's planning, decorating and praparations. The book get sweetly sincere in the Secret Santa chapters, heartstrings tugged. In true Silvana fashion, things get dark and Nik is at the center of it all. But, don't forget Katya's powers. Hopefully, this story comtinues, we are too invested in these characters to have a long wait!.

Part of The Unnatural Brethren world.
'A Very Supernatural Christmas is a gothic holiday tale of found family, second chances, and the beautiful disaster that happens when vampires, shifters, and witches gather under one roof.'

The characters were as always dark, stoic, intense and fun?! Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend this series.

Cassandra had a horrible Christmas in December so she is having one in May. Her husband could not get to her, becasue she was held captive, even though she was pregnant. She broke free and now she wants to have a Christmas with a secret Santa drawing. She invites them all: Ivan, Dristan, Gavriil, Juliet, Sam, Nik, Vlad, Anya, Katya, Luciana, Clarrissa and Kaisner and will not tolerate any hateful things happening n this new family.

I loved this story of supernatural's getting together for Christmas in May. This story just showed that like all families, you have fights, crying and a good time. The longer I read the story the more I fell in the love with the characters. This is definitely a story to read, and I cannot wait to go back and find the other books in the series to read what happened before this one.

Well nothing can go wrong with a Christmas celebration in May with a house full of stubborn, imperfect supernatural beings that have chosen to be a family. RIGHT!
Read this wonderfully written story and find out how chaotic this Christmas gathering went.
This story is absolutely divine. Through everything chosen family means something. Yes indeed.
Silvana has created a very wonderful, magical Christmas story. That is a must read.
Enjoy everyone.

“A Very Supernatural Christmas” by Silvana G. Sanchez

-A gothic, chaotic holiday story full of found family, second chances, and supernatural mayhem. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Darkly funny and unexpectedly emotional, with Secret Santa moments that tug at the heart. The cast is intense, stoic, and wildly entertaining, with strong world-building and steady pacing.

A feral, festive addition to the series that leaves the reader wanting more.

I have completely enjoyed this series that she has written. This is playful, heartfelt, emotional, and unstable. We all know what it’s like to get everybody in your family together at one time no. You just don’t know if it’s going to be combustible, or just simmer. I did find a lot of repetition, which wasn’t terrible, but to me wasn’t necessary. But I love everything about her as an author.

Christmas chaos .. well it could have been worse. But through all the chaos there is also love.

The characters are done very well and the world building is wonderful. All of our main characters coming together for the Christmas in May surprisingly made for an event worth having.

Fun Filled Holiday

Since Christmas did not go as planned Cassandra decides to celebrate in May, secret Santa and all. This story was exciting as all supernatural species come together for the holiday. I could not get enough of this intriguing read. It was full of humor, romance and craziness that make the enjoyment of this story more than delightful.

Cassandra wants to make new memories, and has a Christmas party in May. Each of the couples in this story have quite the histories and together they make one big family, even if some of them don’t like each other very much. A truly great story- loved it!

Isn’t this how every family event is? LOL I loved this. If there isn’t bickering and disgruntled people, then you’ve done something wrong. This was such a fun novella. I laughed and let myself enjoy the holiday banter with them. Absolutely too cute.

Christmas in May. A time to heal and move forward from the past. The challenge is met with heartfelt feeling and hurts that run deep. It’s raw and not uplifting but nothing is more beautiful than forgiveness.

In someways this reminded me of my family at Christmas with the chaos, minus the supernatural part. There was so much going on in the book but in a good way. I liked seeing it through Ivan’s eyes.
