Ajax just made a name for himself on the international stage by winning the under fifty tournament, now he will continue his trip outside the borders of Gryndor as he goes to delve into the Dungeons of Sylvanthal and Deepwood.
How will he get along with his former competition? How will the foreign nobles react to his presence? What about his friends all of whom are children of high ranking nobles.
Ajax will keep pushing himself to fight in dungeons more than twice his own level in his quest for power.
Personaly think it is the lowpoint of the series so far. But a decent read over all. Quite heavy on the dungeon diving.
A decent chunk of the book felt a bit repetetive, with them going into dungeon after dungeon. It gave me a feeling of it being filler, simply there because the author set up the delves as the next step in the story without realy putting together a decent story to tell with the delves. The later parts of the book become more interesting as it sets the stage for the next books, setting up the international political implications of everything so far. I personaly hoped that the book would end on a bit more of the "day to day" life of Ajax and his family setting up his duchy to contrast with the endless repeated delves. But alas that seems to be pushed to the next book
This is one of my favorite series, I'm always looking to see when the next boo will drop! Great characters and world building, an OP but still reasonable MC... Overall just doesn't get better.
Only thing I wish is that the author included a synopsis at the start. The series has definitely reached the point that I need something to help me remember who was who. It's a GOOD problem to have!
Another good addition to the story. This one however was not as engaging as the others. This one was just a bunch of dungeon crawls with some politics sprinkled in. The dungeon crawls were written OK, but the repetitive nature of them made the book a little tough to stay interested in. The ending was done well. While not a cliff hanger, it certainly set the next book up. I hope we don't have to wait too long.
Keleros really knows how to keep a steady pace in the litrpg genre. Went from book 1 -> 5, and up through patreon in a couple of weeks and still hooked. The story follows the route of a thoughtful, methodical protagonist who gets a bit of a leg up, and otherwise climbs step by step through dedication. The world is built with thoughtful power scales so that each jump feels meaningful.
Nothing exceptional to note, it just does the genre well.
First four books in the series were really fantastic there was a good mix of of growth and action and politicking just a little bit of romance. It was well rounded. This is just literally a book of dungeon dives. I mean a few other things happen that are significant but All at all Not a winner. Maybe it was needed to set up the next book I guess we'll see?. It was still an enjoyable read It was just not as good as the previous ones.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the latest installment. The story gets better and better. Can’t wait for the next installment to come out. Will definitely visit the author’s Patreon page. Hoping to find out what the MC does next and whether he will find a powerful bond.
This is a really good book. The errors were fewer but there is still room for improvement. The only thing that bugged me was the last little revelation by the mc which I thought the reaction to was way overblown. I don’t think it really matters. The writing quality is ascending for sure.
The title is not misleading at all here. The whole book is non stop dungeon delving. There are some other events, but like 90% of the book is delving. So there's a crap ton of growth in stats, some new skills, and a few other things. Not a bad read, but combat heavy for sure.
Five books in and every book is still better than the last. One of the best in this genre with a well developed world and still plenty of mysteries to discover. Engaging and very well written story, combined with outstanding character work, makes this entire series worth picking me up. Can’t wait for more.
Still in wanting the next book. But changing Fluffy from a female to a male and his gloves to a gauntlet (for purposes unknown yet) is lame. Especially if it’s just cause you can’t be bothered to remember. Just proofreading it once would be nice as well. I feel like you’re just speaking into your phones mic and not reading it afterwards
I must commend Keleros for his ability to weave multiple possible story Lines in a five volume sequence. Thankfully he doesn’t continues showing ridiculous upgrades for the main character every other page. The main person is a multifaceted player which increases the storyline. Looking forward to new additions.
Great story with many interesting characters and a down to earth MC that continues to reach for the stars. Only 5 spelling/word errors in the entire book! (threes instead of trees, etc.)
Just like the previous books this was another great read. Character development is good, the book doesn't feel rushed, has you on the edge of your seat. Hopefully the next book comes out soon.
Definitely all about the dungeons, Ajax's growth and political environment. A good story along the way to the Wild lands hopefully. Can't wait to see Ajac get a bond with the ascended races?
This one was definitely a bit heavy on dungeon running but still very fun. I still really enjoy this series. Looking forward to the next installment and all the threads that are still ongoing!!
For book 5 it seemed like a placeholder. Still a great book and series but not what I was expecting. Lots of third person storytelling with little direct narrative from the main character. It does seem to be set up well for book six though.
This actually from birth with earth memories story was fantastic. In this and half of the previous book was our boy doing dungeons and evolving. Can’t wait to see what he bonds with next book.
While I'm still enjoying it, I really felt that a few themes that would enhance the story were glossed over. For all the couples we now have none of them seem really invested in each other.
I am also ready to pick up the next book in this series. The friendships and family dynamics of the characters keep growing throughout the series. Ajax lives up to the weak to strong hero and constantly up to something interesting.
The incredible growth of Ajax and his friends as well as the intrigues and conspiracies make for a very engrossing read. I love this saga and its characters, can't wait for the next book.
