Love Grey’s writing and this series but girl …. you waited 95% to free that man ? 🤣🤣🤣 I actually enjoyed these characters and where the plot was going but you lost me giving me all that yearning and jail talk just to leave their relationship and the future up for imagination. Especially not for Range who expressed feeling loneliness we should have seen her experience it all with Josiah.
Well this story felt incomplete.... Not because the ending left me wanting more of the love story, but because I didn't get enough of it in the first place. Then there were a few things that were just left in a lull to me that lacked closure...Why was there NEVER a real conversation between Josiah and his sister on page? although I really liked her loyalty towards him, what we got was not enough. We didn't even get a real interaction with his niece either.
They were in St. Catana but THIS is the time Chemistry minded his business? Like not one interaction with him or the family?
We couldn't get one scene where he attended a check up, listened to the heartbeats, saw an ultrasound?? He got out and all we got was sex 🥴🫠 and I am here for that, but we needed a chance for them to interact in life. To show the love in action beyond sex and the words. We got nothing 😔
I liked the characters..Josiah was dominant, a protector, loving, wealthy, and fine. Range was beautiful, smart, fierce and I loved her uniqueness. I felt like that could have been handled better as well. Yes they had sexual chemistry, but their love connection was lacking.
Overall. I was underwhelmed with the story and the love.
As always!!!! Grey gone do it over and over again!!! I love me Some Josiah!! This love was so beautiful!! I love a good twin pregnancy!!! I’m in dire need of the hangover cause I need to know what these babies are!!!! I’m so happy for Range.
I enjoyed the connection Range and Josiah had. He was a really sweet man. I also loved the relationship between all the sisters. However, this wasn’t a favorite read for me.
I needed to collect my thoughts first... 😫 This one was very deep. Range had so much going on, and then the instant connection with Josiah was kind of scary good. I did not recall that Range was on the spectrum. That did not change my views about her abilities. It did, in fact, enhance my understanding regarding her special skills. I was not afraid of Josiah knowing what he did for his niece. Grey had me in my feelings a lot with this one. I guess we are nearing the end for this very special family. I hope we can bring Chemistry, Egypt, and the kids back to the States before the saga ends for the Childers. 4.75 stars.
Girl, Slow Down!!! I love Grey Huffington and I love The Grey List series, but this one left me wanting more... and not necessarily in a good way. The emotions were there. The chemistry was there. Josiah was absolutely my type of book man protective, patient, emotionally available, and all about his woman once he made up his mind. Range was unique, intelligent, and easy to root for.
My issue wasn't the characters. My issue was the pacing. I felt like we spent so much time yearning, talking, and building toward a future that when we finally got there, the book was practically over. Josiah got out of jail at what felt like the very end, and then everything started moving at lightning speed. I wanted more of them actually living life together. More conversations. More family interactions. More closure with Kason. More of Josiah with his family. More of Range navigating pregnancy. More of the everyday moments that make me believe in a couple outside of attraction and chemistry.
This book felt like it was written in a series of flashbacks and emotional snapshots. The feelings were there, but some of the depth was missing for me. That being said, I was still invested. I still cared about the characters. I still enjoyed the story. I just think this could have benefited from another 75-100 pages to let the relationships and important moments breathe. Real G's mess up sometimes, and while this wasn't my favorite Gray List installment, I'm still seated and ready for whatever comes next.

I hate saying this because I genuinely love Grey Huffington’s work, but Range was a miss for me.
What initially pulled me in was the attorney client dynamic. It felt like there was so much potential there for tension, chemistry, and emotional depth. Unfortunately, I never felt like the relationship development delivered on that promise.
My biggest issue was that I wanted more. More conversations. More emotional connection. More moments that showed me why these two people were drawn to each other beyond attraction. Instead, the relationship felt underdeveloped, and I found myself struggling to become invested in them as a couple. I kept waiting for that moment where everything would click and I’d be rooting for them, but it never fully happened for me.
Josiah didn’t really come alive until the end of the book, and by then I felt like I was already too disconnected from the story. The pacing also didn’t help. Whether it was the writing style, the tempo, or both, I never felt fully immersed.
This one honestly makes me sad because Grey Huffington is an author I usually enjoy. I’ll definitely keep picking up her books, but Range just didn’t give me the emotional payoff or relationship development I was hoping for .
Mhmmmm, wasn’t really as exciting as the other books, I felt like the characters felt the same as all the other books, doing the same stuff, saying the same things. e.g ‘It was expected’. 60 times. There wasn’t really much range to the story, the stakes didn’t feel that high. It didn’t even feel like she did much of her job as a lawyer after that one case at the start. Every one of their encounters in that lawyer/client room was about how they were so drawn and connected to each other, it felt very flat. And also she spent half the book playing with Kason’s time. At the start of the book she said she loved everything about him and loved him. But then she started saying she was only with him because she was lonely and knew he wasn’t the right person for her. So why waste his time like that? And then also why did she have to single-handedly go and clean the murder scene at Josiah’s home? I thought he’d tied up all ends and there was nothing for them to find? So wouldn’t the first place you tie up be the bloody murder scene? Anyways, I was really looking forward to this one but it didn’t meet my expectations then again expectation is planned disappointment.

June Read: Range by Grey Huffington (The Grey List Book 7) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Range is the lawyer and the cleaner. She has spent years yearning for love and believing she had found it with Kason, until Josiah enters her life. At its core, this is a prison bae story, but it also explores the experiences of a woman with autism navigating life and relationships in her 30s. That aspect of the story was the part I wanted more of. I would have loved for the author to spend more time exploring Range's autism and how it shaped her daily life, relationships, and decision-making. There was a lot of potential there that felt only partially developed. The ending leaves readers anticipating how Grey Huffington plans to wrap up the series. The story kept my attention, and her writing remains engaging, but it didn't hit me the way some of the earlier books in the series did. While the plot moved at a steady pace, a few moments that should have carried more emotional weight felt rushed or underdeveloped.
This was a good and interesting one. I understood and connected with how Range felt when it came to wanting to be seen and loved for who you are completely. Craving closeness, companionship and just wanted to feel wanted is real. I understood how she like Kason but then realized he was only there for a season in her life, not forever. Josiah Josiah Josiah! That man is thee man. His immediate dominance and leadership towards Range was immediate and sexy. When he told her to take that ring off……had me clutching my invisible pearls. He did and showed her so much attention and car all while be locked up still. Ladies always remember, if he wanted to he would. I loved to see the care and connection that Josiah had with his family, I wish we could have more time with them because I felt like there was so much more to unpack there. I can’t want to read more in the hangover because I just needed more of the story!
Classic GH delivering all the heat, angst and tension
Loved the forbidden romance trope used for Range & Josiah. He’s an inmate and she’s his attorney. But like all GH MMCs, he’s filthy rich so it doesn’t feel icky lol
⚠️SPOILER⚠️
Which means we got to read spicy scenes in the attorney/client conference room 😈 where conveniently, there were no cameras lol Sidebar: Josiah’s swimmers are strong, GAHDAMN!!! 😂 Anyways, loved the tension and chemistry (no pun intended) I just didn’t like Josiah being in jail the entire book. If he can pay people off to have an outside conjugal visit with Range for 24 hours or however long it was, surely he could’ve been released 60% of the way through the book so we could’ve seen the two together on the outside more. Because he wasn’t out until the last chapter, we got 2 love scenes in the epilogue, (not complaining, but it felt rushed).
Anyways, I’m always gon come back for a GH read. Definitely enjoyed.
📢📢📢📢📢 One should never aspire to have a prison bae unless that individual has the same qualities of Josiah Blackwood.📢📢📢📢📢
📢📢📢📢📢 Let me repeat for those in the back!! Do not even consider entertaining a prison bae unless he is the carbon copy of Josiah Blackwood.📢📢📢📢📢
This book hit so differently from all the others in the grey list as it is a reeeeeaaaaad on black women on how much and how often we settle.
Range is not just a tale of romance; it's a rallying cry for empowerment and self-worth (and having a man who fully recognizes the importance of this). Readers are left with a clear takeaway: it is essential to have the courage to pursue what you truly deserve, rather than settling for relationships that don’t ignite your spirit.
📢📢📢📢TLDR: Unless he is Josiah Blackwood that prison bae ain’t for you!!📢📢📢📢📢
Range is different from her siblings (of course). Reading this made me feel so whole and seen. As Grey says, "To the girls who are starved for love, but understand that settling is never (and never will be) the resolution to loneliness, boredom, or yearning. To the ones who are not flattered by being chosen, but value the idea of being chosen by the right one. To the ones who aren’t afraid to leave. Leave people. Leave places. Leave positions. Leave possibilities right where they are. Lastly, to the ones who understand that a change of a last name or dull diamond doesn’t suffice in life. You need tenderness, consideration, and care. You need understanding and partnership. Not singlehood within holy matrimony." I can't wait to find out what's next.
Because sometime the love for you is not what you imagined…
Range is a novel for the mature woman who refuses to accept a love or a type of love just for the sake of having someone, something, some semblance of love. As always Grey did her thing in drawing you in and painting the world with the thoughts and words of Range and Josiah. But this book is a bit different than the others. It feels like a love letter of sorts to the woman who has been told she is unrealistic in her endeavors to first love self and then partner with the love crafted for her. It is both beautiful and heart-wrenching. May we all know this wait and may we all know to wait for the love crafted for us.
I did enjoy the characters but I wish we got wayyyy more of range and Josiah together while he was free. I felt like the split of the story wasn’t nicely done (in my opinion) but I do understand it kinda. The characters bond were my saving grace. It took too long for range to leave kaseon or whatever his name is completely and I needed more deepness in range and Josiah. I didn’t like how he was in jail for like 330/348 pages. And I actually wish we got to see them as a family in the epilogue with their twins and stuff. Overall it felt surface level and had amazing potential with the writing style and development of characters, I just wish the plot progressed more (and our girl janeese found out the truth).
Josiah and Range had an insta love connection. She was the attorney “cleaner” for his case, as he was in jail for attempted murder against his brother in law. Siah, a successful pharmacist and businessman learned his sister’s husband Anthony was on the dark web exploiting his stepdaughter Aubrey, also Siah’s niece whom he loved dearly. While there was speculation, there was no actual proof, nor had Anthony’s body been found by police yet. Chemistry had been a mentor to Josiah for a while and sought out Range to help him walk free. She had a situationship with Kason, but he was not her forever. Siah came strong at 1st sight and continued to apply the pressure. A nice sweet story.
I have enjoyed The Grey List series, but this was my least favorite installment thus far. Josiah brought the big big energy we love to see, but his being incarcerated made it hard to see him interacting with Range and her family in different settings—and the world building and storylines are such a fun part of the series! Their separation also meant there wasn’t action that helped the characters grow by working through together.
I was more interested in the glimpses and updates from the other characters. Rome had some interesting developments and Roulette added joy and levity as only she can! Maybe after so many boss-level sisters, the characters and settings are starting to blur together. I hope there is some unique energy and character growth in Roaman!
Grey said this one is for the girls who are starved for love, but understand that settling is never and option. And that is exactly what Range story gave us. I love when a woman yearns for love and she finds a man who’s going to provide that without her, having to tell him exactly what she needs! Josiah was a man in all forms. We get us a prison bae in this story and you know I eat that up every time. we also get to see a woman who has autism and how she lives with that in her 30s. This was part of where I wanted the story to expand upon and go into more details. The ending definitely left me one needing more.
I love the book it felt the same as the others when it came to the emotions & I loved seeing her in court but no disrespect I just feel a little cheated. We usually get substantially reading time seeing the couples actually together. The dragging of the obstacle really bothered me & made the book feel shorter than it was. I love this series & I’m so sad it’s almost over. I was just hoping for me since this is the second to last of this series. It was still beautifully written & evoke a lot of emotions for me, love, loneliness, yearning etc I just wish we could’ve gotten an actual ending instead of having to wait until the 28th to get an extra 3-5 chapters.
Range & Josiah’s love story was cute. Josiah was a big steppa for sure. He took care of all Range needs from his cell & wanted to see her at peace. Him being released at the end of the book was interesting. I love that Range found her person. I hate that Range entertained Kason knowing it was never going any further than dating.
Josiah sister just seemed clueless about a lot. Your husband disappeared for more than a week & you just don’t question anything. I also wanted Josiah to tell her why he killed her husband. She’s an adult.
This was a good love story. Hopefully in Josiah’s book we get to see their connection strengthen even more now that he’s a free man.

Oh how I been waiting on this book! I have truly feel in love with all the characters you have created. My darling Range… I don’t wanna spoil the book but baby ima need for u to stop making me believe in love this beautiful lol. Got me on this plane bout to cry cuz I truly think that you this is how a woman is supposed to be loved and by no means do I mean the monetary… I mean the soul affirming way you have Josiah loving my favorite neurodivergent. Bravo darling
We were provided a more personal view into Range and what makes her special. Beautiful, brilliant yet continuously searching for more while holding many at arms length. Enter Josiah. A man confined physically but his reach extends beyond those four walls. He sees truly Range and all of her many facets. Kason might have had her physically but her heart belonged to Josiah from that first interaction. I love how Range opened up to the possibility of wanting and having more once she realized Josiah was a safe place to fall. I can't wait to read his hangover.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I really enjoyed how this story flowed! Range naturally let the MMC lead because he made her feel safe, relaxed, and respected. I also enjoyed how the MMC picked up on all of Range cues without her telling him. He was so in tuned with her emotions and feelings. Also this spice was great!
Overall I know I am going to be sad when this series end this year with next book but I can’t wait for Roaman’s story.
Definitely recommend because this was so good and Grey Huffington don’t miss! 💖
range and josiah weren’t my favorites but they were still interesting to read about! she wasn’t a sister i truly had an attachment to but i still love her all the more.
josiah the man that you are! the plot of him killing his brother in law was crazy but it was crazier when it was revealed what that man did and honestly… josiah ain’t do him how he wanted to and that’s okay!
always good to see my family and me chemistry ugh 😩 love of my life fr, one more book to go and then i’ll be in shambles knowing my family is done
I knew Chemistry was working behind the sceness…Who needs a dating app when you have the “ultimate matchmaker” in your brother.
Josiah…Siah…freaking Blackwood. OMG I loved him. I loved him for Range. This was so beautiful . It’s nothing like when you meet your person and they know you better than yourself and only wanting to help you live the life you deserve. Now my guy wasn’t soft.all the time. He’s a BIG DOG. You just gonna come get me off this mans rented yacht to be put on you MEGA YACHT all while you are behind bars. Yeah…I like your get down Sir.
Grey girlllllll I love you down. This book wasn’t it. I wanted more relationship building. At this point 7 stories in, the world is built. We know the family morals and rules. We want relationship building. Love letters, him sneaking out to take her on lavish dates in the home, her saying eff him it’s too much holding him down and him doing grand gestures to get her back, phone sex, falling asleep on the phone, his family inviting her to dinner and then processing the relationship shifting from lawyer to future wifey. This felt rushed and incomplete.
This was so worth the wait. Josiah & his Sunshine were everything. In true Grey fashion, she delivered a love story so soothing, peaceful, safe, calm, protected, and vivid. I can always count on Grey to make me feel something. I loved learning about Range. Just like the rest of her sisters, she was a bad ass. I loved that she didn’t settle. Not with life and not with love. This one spoke volumes to me. Thank you Grey!
It’s hard to pick a favorite and because I’m old and my memory is trash I find it difficult to say which sister or their partner I love most. However, Josiah is bae for me. I can’t wait for the hangover. I need more of this couple with him outside the walls. I did, however, love how beautifully Grey told their story within Josiah’s circumstances. Another amazing read. I’m sad this series is almost complete.
I fell in love with Grey’s writing since Luca and she hasn’t disappointed me yet! I could read more of each character any day. Siah and Sunshine’s story was so beautiful and real. I wanted More😩. Range was so relatable, these sisters have me in a chokehold! Each one so unique but they all represent women who love themselves enough to not settle for anything mediocre, Teddy wouldn’t stand for it anyway lol! Long story short, get the book! You won’t regret it.❤️
Intentional is a word I would use to describe all the books in the Grey List series, but especially Range. Range was the Cleaner. She was the lawyer. She did what needed to be done to keep her world spinning. However, she didn’t expect a “cleaning” job from her brother to turn into something more. Something she needed. Someone she needed. Josiah was that someone. I enjoyed this book so much and can’t wait to read more!
