Oh and can’t forget the constant miscommunication because getting someone to translate (so you don’t accidentally offend the entire planet) is just too hard.

Another banger alien romance from A.G Wilde. I swear I have no idea how she stays so creative with all of her worlds and stories but I will never skip one. Kol and Erika were a perfect match. While I wish this one expanded out into the sands a bit more, what we got was really fun. The yearning is intense and when it hits the spice was spicy!

Love this series but book four felt off. Pacing was erratic, our main leads acted out of character at times, and there was more telling than showing when it came to the tension between them.
This far into being stuck on an alien planet, knowing the mated women are thriving while the unmated are slowly dying, it’s hard to understand the resistance of the women to not shack up for pure survival. It sounds like feelings have to been involved and it cannot be forced, but there is a whole lot more the unmated women could do to try and form connections while the other choice is literally waste away.
Hope the next in the series comes with more common sense and less ignorance and sticking one’s head in the sand - so to speak.

I picked up Kol’s Honor after really enjoying the concept and world in Book 1, then finding Books 2 and 3 pretty boring. I only continued because I saw several good reviews for this one, and overall, it was definitely an improvement.
The larger world and external plot actually moved in this book, which helped a lot. I was interested in what was happening beyond the romance, and both main characters were extremely competent. I genuinely liked them individually and together. They had real chemistry, and they did not immediately jump into the relationship or complete the mating bond.
The FMC was probably the strongest part of the book for me. She did not become a leader because she was Kol’s mate. She was already a leader of the human women before the relationship developed, and she made that distinction clear. She understood her people, advocated for them, and was willing to challenge Kol directly when his decisions would harm them.
For example, when Kol imposed stricter water rationing, she pushed back because the sick human women would not survive on that amount. He changed course—not because he was attracted to her, obsessed with her, or indulging his mate, but because she was right. She earned his respect through competence, judgment, and leadership.
That was fucking great and honestly rare.
Too many romances pair the heroine with the leader and then treat proximity to male power as if it automatically makes her important. Here, she already had authority and responsibility. She acted as a representative of her people, and her eventual position beside Kol felt credible because she had demonstrated that she could lead independently of him. She was not simply the leader’s mate. She was a leader in her own right.
Unfortunately, the romance also became my biggest frustration.
The conflict preventing them from completing the mating bond and transformation was dragged out for increasingly stupid reasons. The FMC kept insisting that her body knew she wanted him while her mind had not caught up yet. Kol resisted because of the external threat and because he believed he needed to prioritize being a leader, which at least made some sense given the circumstances. But both of them were still being so obstinate and obtuse when it was completely obvious they were right for each other.
More importantly, so much of the book was focused on how intensely physically attracted they were. It felt like barely a page could pass without one of them thinking about the other’s body, how large Kol was, how small she was, how they could not focus on anything else when the other person entered the room, or how desperately they wanted each other.
At one point, Kol is consumed by sexual attraction while also acknowledging that he does not even have the necessary physical anatomy yet. That should probably have been funny, but instead it highlighted how excessive the physical fixation had become.
I believed their chemistry. That was not the problem. The problem was that the book repeatedly treated physical obsession as if it were emotional attachment. They were constantly thinking about each other, but most of those thoughts were about attraction, bodies, mating, and sex. It felt intense without necessarily feeling deep.
I am increasingly tired of romances where attraction takes up all the space that could have been used for emotional intimacy. I wanted more conversations, vulnerability, partnership, caretaking, and moments showing why these two people loved and understood each other beyond the mating bond. Both characters were compelling and competent enough to support that kind of relationship development, which made the missed opportunity even more frustrating.
Once they finally came together, it became even more sex-focused. Their tribe was in a genuinely terrible situation, but they kept having sex and thinking or talking about having sex. The external plot and community stakes were some of the strongest parts of the book, so watching those elements repeatedly get pushed aside for more physical obsession became exhausting.
Still, I remained engaged. The world was interesting again, the plot moved, and I liked both protagonists. Most importantly, the FMC was allowed to be a real leader whose authority came from her own actions, not from being chosen by the male leader.
This was much better than Books 2 and 3 for me. I just wish the author had trusted the characters and plot enough to build a deeper emotional relationship instead of constantly reminding me how attracted they were to each ot

Humanity exists in a time where aliens are known and walk among us, so when the Xyma start recruiting for a human adaptability research position, 20 intrepid women sign up for the job only to be taken off planet and dumped on a desert planet called Xiraxis. It's impossible to know if the Xyma dropped them accidently or by design, but rescue doesn't seem to be coming so they have no choice to but turn to the locals for help.
Xiraxis is a punishing place to live, one of the women die and another is horribly mutilated and all of them are falling sick like the planet has a will of its own and is actually rejecting them. It's a theory that's bandied about a few times, that the planet is a living breathing thing and changes them, but only once they've paired up with one of the local Drakav. The pair bond changes the Drakav even more so, literally restructuring them to the be the perfect mate, including getting bespoke reproductive equipment. I can see that point being the highlight of this series for many people, it's certainly a standout feature, but there's so much else going on for our intrepid survivors than that. There's the mystery of the world, tainted water, and the threat of war among rival clans in a world where everyone just wants to survive.
My favorite book is probably the first one in the series, Rok's Captive. It's the longest and sets everything up so we have more time with Justine. After that the quality starts to fall off although it's no less interesting and I'll continue to read subsequent installments, the first book was just very strong on its own.
The Drakav are very interesting with a mysterious history. They are birthed from stone fully formed and actualized and they've been crafted this way by their makers, the Daughters of Ain, whish is who they think the humans are, their makers returned. And maybe there's something to that since being around these women bring about an undeniable physical change in them.
I'm excited to see what else this series has in store for us. Especially since each book seems to end in a cliffhanger for the whole clan.

This has to be my favorite book in the series so far! Beyond the romance (which I will get to in a minute), I loved how much the Dust was expended upon! Between the sneaky hints about their origin (I NEED to see the spaceship!) to the action-packed battle where one of the females was taken, I loved how much the worldbuilding was expanded upon in this book! Beyond the worldbuilding, it was also cool to get an inside look at everything Kol has to deal with as the leader and just how much everything weighs down on him.
This sets things up perfectly for Erika to help him shoulder the burden. I loved the slow burn buildup and tension between them through the first half of the book. It was honestly like a battle of wills at first. But as things heat up, that delicious tension snaps in the best way possible. Kol was hawt in this book!🥵 I mean, physically he was running warm from finding his mate, but also from how broody, strong, masculine and dominant he was. Not to mention that he undergoes his transformation, he finds out that he's packing double.😏 The chemistry between Erika and Kol is perfection as is their connection. I just absolutely loved getting to witness their sweet, swoon worthy romance!
Overall, this series has been so much fun! I can't wait to read Lucek and Alex's story!

3/5 stars. This one was a little bit forgettable for me just because I don’t think it spent too much time building the connection between Kol and Erika and relied really heavily on past books to explain how they worked around each other. And there is a lot more drama of the other clan and battle scene, so not much time is spent on building a strong relationship since they are literally trying to survive through most of the book along with a super poorly timed change for Kol.
I just love how Kol is written to be absolutely obsessed with Erika. This usually works more for me as a trope when the main characters also have time devoted to personal connection, but that just didn’t happen for me. I mean Kol gets advice that humans need conversation, and then they never really talk and mostly communicate by grabbing each other and looking across the room at one another.
This is unfortunate because I do love this series and was so excited for Kol & Erika’s story. But now I’m pretty excited for Sorn and Alex potentially. Just like the others in this series, I quite enjoyed this book.A bit less because I felt like there could’ve been more, it just felt too short to me. Like more could’ve happened in their bond but I loved the bond between Kol and Erika.
I thought they both fit each other well especially as they’re both leaders of their own people and how they respect those aspects of one another.
Although I wonder if they’ll be more books in this series because I feel like quite a bit was left unsaid especially with one of the girls being kidnapped by the rival clan when they invaded and attacked them all. Plus, what’s going to happen to the girls if they don’t mate because apparently that’s what keeps them alive. And I do wonder too if the aliens that dropped them off will actually come back or not.

Another exciting installment! FINALLY Kol’s story!
This was a fast-paced and exciting read. Seems like I’ve been waiting for Kol’s story for forever. Ms. Wilde did not disappoint!
These books seem to read faster than some of her others, but I’m strangely okay with that as it feels like I’m watching a really good TV show and these are “episodes” lol :).
I’d like to note that Kol is as yummy as we all wanted him to be and his romance with Erika will make you melt! 😍🥵🫠

Kol is fierce, lethal, deeply honorable, and incredibly protective. Not just of his clan and the female under his care, but especially for Erika. His possessive "touch her and dies" energy and his respect for her are swoonworthy, and his desire to shield her, cherish her, and help her heal is endearing. Their story is beautiful and emotional, and I loved seeing the big, fierce alien warrior fall hard for his mate!

Cute little alien romance. One where the men a perfectly “crafted” to suit their woman’s tastes. Very interesting little mechanic there. I like this series it’s fun little blush inducing smut. Well written and well plotted. Which is a lot for a short read like this one. This also did not give me ANY ick SO YAY! Anyways this is a good one pick it up and read it!

I am transported into the Wilde
This is the kind of story I wish I could read over and over again for the first time. Wilde is a master at tapping into the human psyche while also keeping the aliens so weirdly alien…yet so lovable.

The writing is so good
The authors’ descriptions are rich and lush. She breathes life not only into her characters but the dust and the rock of the desert too. I can’t wait for the next book.

Erika knows Kol is interested in her but she is not giving in. Kol does not know exactly what this is all about but Erika certainly has his attention. There is a war coming but when? One is taken! Now the war is really on! Enjoy

Still loving this series and we finally get Kol's book.
Kol is leader of his clan of Dra-dam and takes his role very seriously which means hes hard to get to know. Erika is a sort of unofficial leader of the human women and she has no trouble going toe to toe with Kol including making sure the women are in the know about whats happening and have a say.

Loved their relationship and also the main plot moved along quite a bit more in this book which was really good.

This book felt a lot more meandering than the previous ones. It was even kind of slow at times. I still really liked Kol, but Erika's character was harder to pin down for me. Excited to see where the next story goes!

I had been waiting quite a while to get to Kol and Erika’s story, especially after reading about Rok, Tharn, and Sarven and seeing the gradual build-up of curiosity and attraction between them in earlier books.
So going in, my expectations were definitely high.
The story started off a bit slow for me, similar to how Rok’s book felt in the beginning. It took some time to really settle into the plot and emotional dynamic between Kol and Erika. However, things picked up significantly in the middle, especially once the foreign clan attack came into play. That shift brought in the urgency and tension I had been hoping for and made the story more engaging.
That said, while I did enjoy finally getting Kol and Erika’s journey, the book overall didn’t fully live up to the expectations built by the previous installments. I kept waiting for a stronger emotional or plot payoff that never quite hit as deeply as I’d hoped.
Still, I appreciated the sense of closure this book brought to their arc and to parts of the larger series.
As for continuing with Lucek and Alex’s story — I’m a bit unsure at this point.
Overall, a decent addition to the series, with a slow start, a stronger middle, and a satisfying (if not standout) conclusion.

I loved this book. I was so excited for this next book. I had it on my spreadsheet of anticipated releases. Once again, A.G. Wilde knocked it out of the park.
I love the worldbuilding of this desolate universe, and I hate to say I am getting worried for the unmated women. Come on, A.G.! I need to know who's next and how this all fits into the bigger picture because my girls don't look so good.
Anyways, back to Erika, Erika, Erika, the girl we all need to get us motivated. I love that she stands up for the women and is willing to stand up to Kol. Even when they were officially mated, she didn't cower or just accept whatever he says.
I really enjoyed the book and love the creative "evolution" the guys go through each time.
