Jane Miller teaches art history at the local community college and sits on the school board in Lake Forest. She's refined, respected, the kind of woman who organizes fundraisers and knows the right wine for every occasion. Her husband Steve thinks he knows everything about her.
Then he finds the photo.
It falls out of an old book while he's organizing his office—Jane at twenty-three, front row at a dive bar concert, wearing an Iron Wake t-shirt and screaming with reckless abandon. She looks like someone he's never met. When Steve googles the band, he discovers a song called "Raising Jane" with lyrics explicit enough to leave no his wife spent the summer of 2004 following a regional metal band around Wisconsin, and the song about the woman who "took all five" is about her.
His reaction surprises them both. He's not angry. He's not hurt. He's turned on.
When Jane admits the truth—embarrassed, defensive, certain he'll judge her—Steve asks the question she never "Do you miss it?" He wants to know that version of his wife. He wants to see her reclaim the woman she used to be. And he's willing to watch whatever it takes to make that happen.
What happens when you want all of your wife—including the version she left behind?

Jane is superb. Things she worked to hide for so long weren't needed. Steve loves her for who she is, and now he is richly driven by this new info. Appreciating the proof and loving her more.
Plenty of intrigue and a nice pace. Also a few fun twists along the way as with most of Raven's books I would recommend. This one really created an urge to turn the page. Suspense was playful and meaningful.
What happens when the husband of a typical suburban soccer mom finds a phtogtraph of his wife, Jane, looking like he’s never seen her. It turns out that Jane had quite the wild side before they met and Steve, her husband, is determined to fill in this part of her story. Thus, the stage is set for a few road trips down memory lane, a journey that will reveal things he never suspected and it will be up to him to decide how it will affect their future. Old friends will be resurrected, old songs will be sung, and a new normal will be set.
In this the 14th book of the Shared Wives series, Ms. Merlot gives us just what we want, plenty of scorching hot sex, believable scenarios, exceptional dialogue, and, oh, did I mention the sex?
Once again Raven shows she has the writing chops to maintain her well-deserved place at the top of this genre. Isn’t she awesome?.

Discovering something unsettling about someone you thought you knew so well can bring about the death of what has been. It can also be the birth of something new. Something more.
I continue to be fascinated by all the different paths by which couples find their way into hotwifing. Each path is as unique as the couple who takes it.
Don’t know if it was the question—“Who were you before you became who you're supposed to be?” or the characters of Steve and Janie, but this story really connected with me. Absolutely loved it.
