John, why did you make me cry so much ? I cried from despair, from hope and from happiness. I'm a big girl you know, you shouldn't make me look like a weeping old maid... but you did it. Thank for this book. I just hope it wasn't the last, please don't let it be the last !

Justin is put through a lot this time.

People, reading this series is worth it please, do it !

I stopped writing reviews for the majority of this series because there honestly wasn't a tremendous amount of variation, so this is going to be a review about the series as a whole rather than the individual volume.

Doing it here makes sense because this book also marks the end of a major story arc, though there are a few loose ends that would provide ample avenues for later volumes.

The largest "problem" with this series is one I alluded to in the beginning; after book four or five there isn't a lot of character development in most of the main cast. It turns into a series of hoops that known characters have to jump through, and there isn't even much variation in the type of hoop involved, so the responses become fairly predictable. In my opinion that only becomes an actual problem two ways; if you didn't like the characters, or if you need a lot of variation and development to hold your interest.

The series had a lot that could have been expanded upon as well, but I put that down to this being a YA title. Most of the "traditional" elements of an epic fantasy conflict show up at some point, but a lot of the deep character conflicts and political complications are either absent or glossed over. Also, secondary problems that would stretch across multiple books in adult series tend to get wrapped up quickly here.

This was a fun series to read, but after the midpoint it was more like an action film; you're not going to get more out of it than neat fights in a cool setting with a lot of stuff that's enjoyable on a surface level. Deep characters, relationships, and drama are mostly absent, however, so if you need a character-driven narrative to enjoy your reading it's best to look elsewhere.

I'm almost wiping a tear from my eye, Justin has grown so much. Just like Westley, almost a "Goodnight, good work; I'll most likely kill you in the morning." Justin has been through so much, all them- the whole gang, really.

I want to do I think an entire series re-read before my final review *sniff* of this last installment. It's inconceivable that it's over, I tell you!

I was gifted an advance early copy for beta reading and then advance copy for review. As in Princess Bride, while this may be for posterity, I am none the less honest.

Fantastic book/series 💜

I swear this series gets better and better. The characters and storyline are very entertaining. The story is well written with witty comebacks, charming antics and hilarious situations, as well as serious conflict and family drama. A page turner for sure. Just when I think it’s over Justin Slade is called to save the world yet again. I mentioned in previous reviews that this could easily be a television series.
The narration is absolutely brilliant. When a character speaks I already know who it is before it’s mentioned. Austin Rising does a fantastic job at portraying each character and bringing this story to life.
This is book 10 in this series and should be read in order.
I highly recommend this book/series.

Love this series

This is one heck of a series. There is action, with some humor and romance thrown. Their are multiple sub plots and intrigue, all while Justin and Elyssa are trying to save the world. Daelissa is one piece of work and what this book reveals about her.......

Never ending excitement

I’m beginning to believe Sheldon when he says Justin attracts trouble. With all the butt. Lunching fight scenes and strategy I feel like I was in a lark. Enjoy. I’m on to the next adventure in this series

it was pretty enjoyable I just wish there weren't sooooo many books in this series overall good strong plot and characters mildly predictable which is normal when there are 10 books in one series and good grammar if you care

I read this book in a day as I just had to know how it was going to end. We've had ten books and now it's over all I'm left with is wanting more. This book carried the plot very well and was a good ending to the series, however, it does leave a lot of unanswed question. What about the Abyssal, the sirens? How is it going to go when they try to sort things out in Seraphina? Also where was Felicia, Adam Nosti, Meghan Andretti, Stacey and Ryland? They were such important characters in the series, mean a lot to Justin, and were some of the first people we met when Justin came to the underworld. They were mentioned once or twice but weren't in it until the end when they were celebrating their victory. I know this is the last book but I believe there could be more. Especially about them helping the Darklings. I really want an answer to some of the questions. Also, what about Justin's problems channeling Brilliance when in demon form? That problem was never sorted. I think the final battle was good but I would have liked to have seen a bit more awesomeness from Justin like in some of the fights in the previous books. Overall though I good end to the series and an enjoyable book.

OMG
I completed the book at last . The conclusion !!!
I have to confess I loved the first 3 books a lot , and the following book I lost interest and started skimming through bulk of the book's . BECAUSE the book would never end !!!

But I did want a conclusion so I just picked this book up , and oh boy it did deliver . This was a proper paced book and I loved it . Little family drama and lots of action action action !!! .

At first I was a little sketchy because the world was just becoming bigger and bigger . Attention to detail was there , and one of the reason I like John Corwin's Work . Yes I did get lost in the middle of the series but the end was worth reading .

That's all you get from me .... you just have to read the rest .

4.5/5
Looking forward to some of your other works .

Disclaimer: I am one of John Corwin's beta readers. I read his books because I enjoy reading them.

My recommendation is to start with the first book in the series and don't stop until you have read them all. I'm almost sad the series is over, but know there are more stories from the Overworld to come. Those of us who live in Atlanta are familiar with many of the settings in the books, but just didn't realize there was another world all around that us Noms (normal people) couldn't see. As with other books in the series there is a message of hope, sarcastic wit, and Princess Bride references. There is no way to read these books without smiling and sometimes laughing out loud.

Sadly i find that something is missing on this book, or maybe i just outgrown the saga, i read from book one to book 8 in what must have been a week or two, just read book 9, and this one drained me, i dont know if knowing it was coming to an end made it harder or what.

Good book, no question, but it get a bit too long, sometimes i cant wait to get to the part where he just fights, but all the planning and thinking is too much, i got tired of it.

i would give this 3 1/2, even if i did not expect the revelation at the end.

Oh all the feels. All the overwhelming happiness and then the crushing sadness when i realize that It looks like it's done. This whole series really is one of the best that I've ever read. It's one of those series that I go back to every few months because it's just so good that I don't want to forget a detail. Thank you so much for these awesome works John! Definitely hoping for more of this to come along somehow!

Fun, exciting, fast-paced

This entire series is an adventure. Fun, irreverent, fast-paced. If you don't like cliffhangers this series isn't for you. Lot's of quotes from the cult classic, "The Princess Bride". If you like action adventure you will enjoy this series. If you are looking for philosophical insight you should skip it. I loved it.

Fantastic Finali

The final book in this series more than does justice to the adventure, excitement, and mini plots of the first nine books in the series. A well written conclusion.

Wow! Epic, engaging, intense!!! This was a great ending to the 10 book series! I know the author continued the series, a few years later, with another 4 books... but this original ending was very good! I am not sure if I will read the next 4 books or not... probably in time.
