Joel and Brittany fly their guests out to Maui for their spectacular wedding. But when secrets are revealed and tensions are high, will everybody be in attendance? Or will one of them be dead?
3.75⭐️ This had Freida McFadden feels. It was a quick and easy read, short chapters, and easy to follow. The characters were well developed. I just felt it was lacking a bit of detail to create a more interesting storyline.
*of course I’m gonna give my own book 5 stars 👀😆* I really hope you guys enjoy this book. It’s a short-ish read at 264 pages so you can breeze through it easily. Short books are my favourite. I wrote the first draft of this book in 2021 and now nearly 5 years later it is finally out there! It’s a surreal feeling. I really hope you enjoy my work.
I enjoyed this book, the story was really thought out and it definitely gave of fredia mcfadden vibes, at the beginning of the book I have to say was very predictable but the twist around 60% in definitely made up for it and I was not expecting it at all. the book had short chapters via afew and was easy to read, i laughed out loud several times and was surprised there was a mild spice scene, i enjoyed all the characters as their wasn't many to overwhelme you, over all I would rate this book a 3 and half star. I will definitely look forward to reading more books by this author great job s . m Rivers 👏
Bit of a slow burner which for once I enjoyed because you really got stuck in building those relationships with the main characters. I appreciate the detail into the mother role as you do cringe at her mannerisms which was described very well. Lots of good twists and turns to keep you hooked! I’m hoping a book two will be released? Good story line, good character overall really nice read :)
I don't normally leave reviews and just leave a star rating but this book was different. It pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't put it down.I thought I had it figured out but the twist was brilliant but then it didn't even end there 😯
Oh this was good !!! Easy read .. loved the fact there wasn’t to many people to keep track on .. you have to stick with it as the plot twist was just 👌 the mother in the book was something else I wanted to dive into the book many times and give her a slap 😂 she was great tho …
I have no words other than WOW!! I’ve been in the biggest reading slump recently but I devoured this in one go, I just could not put it down.
The main character, and the character whose POV we see most of the story through is Joel. I found him to be a really well written and complex character and I loved seeing the story from his point of view. In the first half of the book I found his hatred of Dorothea, his soon to be mother in law, quite obsessive, but as the story develops it all starts to make sense. The other two main characters, Brittany and her mother Dorothea were also brilliantly written. I would have loved to have seen a few more chapters from Brittanys POV, I feel like she had so much more to give!
I read a lot of thrillers, and so not many plot twists are able to catch me off guard, but when this twist was revealed, I genuinely almost fell out of bed and I nearly threw my phone at the wall. That’s the sign of an absolute blinder of a plot twist!
This gorgeous book managed to cure my reading slump in one go and I’m well and truly obsessed. A firm 5 star read!
I’ve just finished reading this book and I couldn’t read it fast enough to see the outcome! The characters are well written and every chapter was written in detail and not rushed. The storyline was good and did make you think twice about what would be the ending. I don’t want to give too much away so I recommend having a read. I look forward to reading your next book SM Rivers 😀
