It takes a matchmaker, a bit o’ time travel, the Rock of Cashel, and the Good Lord to bring these two together.
When Cara Fogerty is left alone until her brother returns to Cashel, she never imagines that the one man she’s admired since her youth would show up on her doorstep with a woman he claims is a grave robber. For some reason, Cara doesn’t believe it. The woman’s unusual use of Irish words makes Cara think she isn’t from Cashel, nor is she a thief. And she aims to prove it.
On his way home, Bran Ryan catches a grave robber red-handed. He takes the woman to his best friend, who happens to be the law in the town of Cashel. Unfortunately, he comes face-to-face with Cara, the woman he’s wronged, and has no idea how to make amends. While he believes the woman he caught is guilty, he goes along with Cara’s wild belief that she’s not—if only to patch up the hurt he caused her.
In this case of mistaken identity, being in the wrong place at the right time, friends turning into more, and Irish time-traveling romantasy, discover how two people fall in love with the help of a woman God chose to be His time-traveling matchmaker.
A time traveling book with history and intrigue. I enjoyed this book as it is well written with wonderful characters. I liked how Joi brings about the spiritual elements to the book and learning lessons from the Lord. Never take for granted the small things. I was given an ARC copy and this is my voluntary review. I highly recommend this book.
I was blown away by this novel. Read it in 2 days (in between work). I love time travel novels but this one was so different in a good way. Maeve our heroine time travels but she is sent by God to help two stubborn people (Bran and Cara) in 18th century Ireland to find their way back to each other. The author does a wonderful job in describing the history and times around Cashel at that time and you feel her love of Ireland shine through in the book. Can’t wait to read book two and find out what further matchmaking adventures await Maeve.
This is a clean and Christian romance. It is a time travel novel.
Maeve is at her grandfather’s funeral and gets close to the artisan well near the Rock of Cashel. The gate opens at her touch and she wanders in. As she steps forward, she is suddenly in a different time in the past. She ends up quickly back in her time. What she finds out from her father that God sends the first born of the family line on missions back in time, if they accept His guidance. She decides to follow through and her parents offer to look after things while she is gone. She falls back in time and is then accused of grave robbing by a man named Bran. His best friend, Liam, is like a police officer of that time. She hasn’t done it, but how can she explain how she came to be there without being crazy. When Bran arrives as the house, Liam’s sister, Cara, is there. Cara believes her to be innocent. Why has God delivered her there to this time? What is she supposed to do? Cara and Bran have a lot of tension between them, can she help them through it?
This was a really good story. I wasn’t sure how the author would be able to have both God and time travel in the story, but she did a great job. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I’ve never been to Ireland, but I loved hearing about the things there and the history. It’s a great read.
I received an ARC from the author and am leaving an honest review.
Time-travel is not a genre that I read but this one peaked my interest so I gave it a try. It was very well-written and has a faith-based theme throughout.
Maeve has been chosen by God, like her father and grandfather before her, to time-travel to fulfill a purpose God has for someone in history. She doesn’t know the purpose and must take one day at a time.
She is whisked away to 1785 and mistaken as a grave robber. She befriends Cara who believes Maeve to be innocent while Bran believes her guilty. Her purpose seems to be to help Bran and Cara discover their future. Maeve must learn to trust God with her disappointments as well as her victories.
I enjoyed the story and would definitely be up to reading its sequel in the future. I received a complimentary copy from the author and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
This christian time travel novel had a clean romance, some very convincing wrestling with faith and coming to terms with how God works, and a wonderful beginning and ending! Even though the beginning of the story was confusing at first, I was drawn into the story pretty quickly and thoroughly enjoyed the history, the character growth, and the clean romance! I received an ARC copy and this is my review.
Discovering she is part of a family that God sends through time to do His will is disconcerting to Maeve O’Malley. Her adventure ends as suddenly as it begins, and she cannot figure out the purpose of it until she does some research. I liked that the characters sought God’s guidance and His will in difficult circumstances. I enjoyed the glimpse of 1785 Irish life. Joi Copeland put together an engaging story weaving history into fictional characters.
I have previously not been a reader of time travel, but between this story and the always spell binding work of this author, I am now! Wow! A book written in such a way as to feel the very emotions, the very essence of a culture, is no less than a masterwork and describes this narrative to perfection.
I sure love this read of Bran and Cara also Maeve's on their journey to fine their happy ever along with time traveling. It is fun to read. It is also a page turner read.
