When Fortress Security operative Riley Sloan is kidnapped, her coworker Andre Marsh is the first to respond. They believe the danger is over, but soon learn peril has followed them home. With the violence escalating, Riley must confront her stormy past to have a chance at a future.
Operative Andre Marsh has languished in Riley's friend zone for months. When she's targeted during a Fortress mission, his plan to win her trust and her heart go on hold. He refuses to let her face the danger alone. Together, they must defeat an enemy intent on vengeance, no matter the consequences.
Due to a bizarre twist of fate Andre and Riley both find themselves targeted, but it isn't just them that are on the hit list, the rest of Echo and Artemis are in danger too. I love seeing the bonds formed as the members of these teams become couples. And Andre and Riley don't disappoint, they are both protectors and falling for each other just increases those instincts until they hit overdrive. What steals your heart is the way all these warriors rally to protect Chris from both terrorists and predators, even whilst working to uncover who has targeted both teams. Unsurprisingly it's ghosts from the past that have caught up with them, surprisingly they have the same ghosts from a multi agency mission neither knew the other was on....will their past cost them the future they want? Not if Fortress have anything to say about it! A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited, with the bonus of crossovers with multiple Fortress Security favourites from almost every team we know and love.
I think this series is going on too long personally. I enjoyed the plot. I thought it was a lot better than the last for you. I’m kind of irritated that a book series that it’s about Artemis spy women doesn’t Center more on their lives. I’m kind of sick and tired of the whole alpha men thing. I would’ve liked to see the women lead more. However, this is the fourth which means that there’s only one more. I have a lot of hopes for Iona and her book. Still, I read them because I like them. It’s fast with the romance, but the action is really good. Her earlier books are much better though.
This book was one of Ms. Deel’s best. It was nonstop action and mystery that made it hard to put down. This couple has danced around each other for some time. They finally came together in the midst of intrigue, angst, and lots of questions of who is targeting them. It was great to see Brent getting in on the action. This is a must read.
Who is trying to kidnap/kill Riley and Andre? Apparently several people and a cartel. The solution lies in the dedicated, skilled people under Fortress. It was a wild ride to finally free themselves from danger. On the way, they and their teams prevented a deadly virus from entering the United States.
Great book . One of your best. Love the way you envolved the other teams. Don’t hear enough about them. Loved the surprise ending showing up at Riley’s house. That was unexpected. Very cool, would have liked for that to have gone a couple of steps further. It felt like an unfinished ending. Other that that it was an excellent story. Joan
This book has lots of action, intrigue, and characters. There are some sad parts (which I never like). There is a lot going on in this book. It has a wonderful happy ending.
