Algorithm of Us #2

Trials in the Network of Three

Turns out the hard part of getting the guy isn't the kiss. It's what happens after.

Hi, it's Evan again. Remember when my biggest problem was figuring out if Aiden liked me back? Yeah, that was cute. adorable, even. because now we're together, and somehow everything got exponentially more complicated.

We were doing the whole "soft launch" thing, stealing elevator moments, trading coffee like love letters, trying not to combust every time our hands touched at the hospital. It was terrifying in the best way. We had our rhythm down. our little network of three.

Then the universe said, "Absolutely not," and threw the kind of crisis at us that tests whether a new relationship can even survive.

Suddenly I'm learning what it means to show up for someone when everything falls apart. when the systems you trust reveal themselves as anything but trustworthy. when being in love means standing your ground even when the odds are brutal.

because Aiden needs me. Lian needs me. And I'm discovering that the soft, anxious guy who charts emotions like graphs is capable of a lot more fight than he thought.

This is the algorithm of us, stress-tested. and we're about to find out what we're really made of.

established relationship under pressure - found family - high stakes drama - hurt/comfort - "i will fight for you" energy - trust and loyalty tested

Such a beautiful story.
*please note this is book 2 and you DO have to read book 1 before this*

This isn't a come for the spice duet (literally there is like 1 "spicy" scene and its well after a lot of tear up moments.. But you don't need spice for a story like this!!
This IS a beautiful story of a lost man who finds love thanks to his daughters overbearing loving heart. It IS a story where they talk about loss and hurt.
I am not in the medical field but I feel like this is a great story for how building romance and family in their careers works.
You can feel the emotion rolling from these pages!

I’m COMPLETELY CHARMED ❤️

My review of books 1&2:

Definitely a slow burn.

I cackled at some points and teared up at others.

The romantic and sexual tension is definitely there, the spice is on the lower side. (There’s a lot happening, this was not a problem for me).

Medical worker humor as well as the realities of working in a hospital are well represented. (The author remembered Respiratory Therapists! This is sadly rare. I’m an RT, thank you.)

Glad I read this, Aiden and Evan were navigating the car crash that was their lives in the way they knew best. The hospital and Wallace forcing Aiden into surgery were well written. But like the 1st book, the 2nd was full of inaccuracies and moments where I had to go back to make sure I hadn't read incorrectly. the main one being the fact that they left Lian, who was 6 on her own several times. Like the author forgot she was in that scene!!

I skimmed this one, I didn't read it from front to back so I will call it a DNF. Again I will say it was lacking something, but the plot was better than the first. I love angst and could feel the emotions in it!

it had one quick spicy scene and honestly it was nice! Not to sound like a perv, but it was well written out of most of the book.

Again it has potential for greatness but it's for sure lacking

Not as good as the first book, because it took a massive dark detour in the middle 50% of the book. There should have been a CW/TW for death of a minor character, gruesomely described, that is an outcome (one of many) in that detour. Why is a RESIDENT doing the crucial surgery??? That makes no sense…
Absolutely MUST read Book 1 before reading this, as it is a continuation of that book in every way, literally picking up immediately after the HFN of Book 1.

I would have loved to give this more than 4 stars (rating is 3.5 stars) but Aiden really was a jerk for no reason from time to time and it made me made.
