To Find Where She Belongs is book #5 in The British Are Coming series, but I write all of my series books to stand alone. While characters from previous books make appearances in later books, a reader won't be lost wherever they start. (Naturally, I hope you'll want to go back and read other books in the series, too.)

I love this love story between Keely and William, and I can't wait for others to read the book.

Update: The audiobook version is beginning to show up in online retailers, and Ann Marie Gideon has done a wonderful job with the narration!

Keely Boyle’s story is written in the space between what was done to her and the courage it took to keep standing. She was afraid. She was brave. Her courage did not roar or demand attention; it showed itself in small, faithful choices made day after day, even while vulnerability remained. To Find Where She Belongs understands that kind of strength, and it honors it without spectacle.

Robin Lee Hatcher writes Keely with deep compassion and moral clarity. Keely runs when staying becomes unsafe, and later she carries the weight of decisions made under pressure. The story is careful to distinguish between conviction and shame, and that distinction matters. One passage speaks with pastoral wisdom and anchors the entire journey: “Conviction is a good and healthy emotion… Shame is different. It is a tool of the enemy… I would encourage you to run to God, Miss Boyle, not away from Him.” That truth shapes Keely’s path forward and reframes how she begins to see herself through God’s eyes rather than her past.

William Overstreet is a gift of a character. He is steady, patient, and deeply rooted in his relationship with God. His faith is lived. He understands purpose in daily obedience and finds contentment in the life God has placed before him: “To be content in the life God had given him. Purpose existed in this place, in his work, and in the people he was responsible for.” William feels clearly called by God for many things, including being present for Keely with gentleness, integrity, and restraint. What deeply moved me is that Keely is also there for him. Their relationship unfolds by God’s design, marked by mutual care, respect, and timing shaped by His sovereignty.

Faith in this story feels authentic and relational. Prayer is natural, honest, and woven into daily life rather than reserved for moments of crisis alone. Scripture is lived and trusted. Keely’s questions about God felt sincere and human: Was He near. Was He guiding. Was she truly held. Her mother’s remembered words echo with quiet assurance: “He has yourself in the palm of His hand… You can trust Him with the future.” That promise becomes something Keely slowly learns to believe again.

The setting of Eden’s Gate includes work, responsibility, danger, and community all serving the deeper work God is doing in these lives. Obedience matters. Loyalty matters. The way faith is lived out touches William and Keely … and everyone around them, showing how devotion to Jesus shapes character, relationships, and choices.

I loved this book. I did not want to set it down. To Find Where She Belongs is rich, emotionally resonant, and filled with light. It can absolutely be read as a standalone. This story reflects the beauty of authentic faith lived out loud and poured into relationships.

This story will speak to readers who carry fear, want to be brave, and long to believe that God’s amazing grace continually reaches into the places they have survived. Hope here arrives slowly, through truth, safety, and the steady presence of Almighty God.

I received a digital ARC of this book from the author via BookSirens. I was not required to write a positive review and was not compensated in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own and reflect my honest evaluation of the writing, content, and narration.

1897 Idaho

This continues to be an enjoyable series tying England and America together. In this fifth novel, Irish lass Keely escapes to America after being physically threatened in the house she served. The problem is she stole money and jewelry to pay for her fare. The guilt is tearing her up.

Ranch owner William isn't looking for a wife, but his heart is pulled to Keely when she arrives at his ranch seeking work.

I look forward to reading the conclusion to the series.

Robin Lee Hatcher has once again delivered a beautiful, emotionally stirring story in To Find Where She Belongs.

Set against the backdrop of frontier America, this novel follows Keely as she tries to rebuild her life after leaving everything familiar behind. Hatcher captures both the external hardships of a new land and the internal battles of guilt, doubt, and self-worth with remarkable grace.Keely’s journey is heartfelt and deeply relatable. Her struggle to view herself through God’s eyes rather than her past mistakes offers readers a profound message about mercy and divine forgiveness.

I loved how the novel weaves faith so naturally into its storytelling—never heavy-handed, but always heartfelt. The romance that blossoms amidst this spiritual renewal is tender, uplifting, and rooted in mutual respect and forgiveness. This is more than a love story—it’s a testament to God’s unwavering grace and the hope that springs when we surrender our plans for His.

To Find Where She Belongs is a must-read for fans of historical Christian romance, especially those who appreciate stories that balance faith, heartache, and redemption with authenticity and grace.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you to Book Sirens for providing a free advance reader’s copy so that I could offer my honest review.

To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher is a beautiful story filled with hope, faith, and a touch of mystery. I keep turning the pages and it had a difficult time putting it down. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Keely escapes England for very difficult reasons, including a dark past, and travels to America in hopes of finding a man she considers a “friend”—unaware that he does not know she is coming, but believing he may be able to help her.

William, the owner of the ranch where Keely unexpectedly arrives, wants to help her after learning parts of her story. Though he feels he has little to offer, he finds himself deeply interested in getting to know her more. Meanwhile, mysterious events begin happening around the ranch, and William becomes determined to uncover what is going on—while also wrestling with the feelings growing in his heart for Keely.

I received an ARC copy through BookSirens, and all opinions are my own.

Robin Lee Hatcher’s latest release To Find Where She Belongs is a delightful escape in Ms. Hatcher’s series set in the 1890s, The British Are Coming! Fiery redhead Keely Boyle escapes her job as a housemaid at England’s Hooke Manor after unwanted advances from a coworker force her to head to Eden’s Gate Ranch in Idaho. Hoping to see her friend Roger Bernhardt at Eden’s Gate, Keely comes face-to-face with William Overstreet, owner of Eden’s Gate Ranch, instead. William Overstreet doesn’t take his life and role to steward Eden’s Gate Ranch for granted—he just wishes he had someone to share it with. When Keely shows up at William’s doorstep, William instantly offers Keely a job and a place to stay. Keely is thankful for God providing Eden’s Gate Ranch as a refuge, but guilt and secrets as to how she was able to get to Eden’s Gate Ranch hold her back from the Freedom only God can give. As they begin working together on the Ranch, sparks begin to fly between Owner and Housemaid. William believes Keely is the one God has for him. Keely, while feeling the same way, believes William will want nothing to do with her once he knows all of her secrets.

Every time I read a Robin Lee Hatcher book I know that it will give me a perfect and safe escape that I am meant to read! I am thankful that I escaped into To Find Where She Belongs when I did! I enjoyed seeing William again and getting to know him better as much as I loved the spitfire that Keely brought to the storyline! My heart ached for some of what Keely went through in the book. I appreciated how Ms. Hatcher went about it in the storyline—not judging Keely, but showing the Reader that if the shoe was on the other foot, you might have done the same thing Keely did to survive. I appreciate how William took Keely in and offered her a job and a place to live when she needed it. For me, I felt like Keely and William’s relationship went too fast, but I understand that it’s the perfect pace for length of the book. I just wanted more details of the story and when I got to the end I was left wanting more! (Which is a good thing!) I appreciated how Ms. Hatcher wrote Keely’s struggles with God and am thankful that Ms. Hatcher wrote it in such a way that you could see Keely’s determination to work through them long after To Find Where She Belongs ends. I understood William’s loneliness and appreciated that when God convicted him in his relationship with Keely, he did his best to make it right. I love the thread of Forgiveness that is woven through the plot and how Ms. Hatcher beautifully illustrated what it truly means in the book. If you are looking for a sweet escape that shows the Meaning of God’s Forgiveness regardless of our life’s history, then I highly recommend To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher!

Fleeing 'a fate worse than death', Keely does things she's far from proud of to escape her situation and reach safety in America. But when the man she hoped to get help from turns out to be newly married and not living at the address she has, she's forced to throw herself on a stranger's mercy for a job. Something about the woman he's taken on as a maid intrigues William, but getting to know her is awkward in her position of dependence, particularly after he hears her reason for leaving England. Worse, his cattle appear to be being poisoned, and he's kept busy trying to keep them safe. In the quiet moments, they start to develop a relationship - but can it survive her secrets?

An inspiring read, and I really enjoyed getting to know both Keely and William, not to mention William's friends and workers (okay, and Rowdy). I loved the way William cared not just for her but for all those depending on him - and his patience with Keely in particular. It was also interesting to see a young Irish maid facing the different world in America, where things (at least in that circle) weren't all about class in the way she was used to. It was great to see her gradually blossom when treated properly. My one quibble would be that the poisoner's actions didn't make sense to me. They're not the sorts of thing you do for no reason, and there seemed no valid reason for him doing it. That aside, I really enjoyed the story and particularly the thread of faith woven through. Recommended.

An absolutely fantastic Christian historical western romance fiction novel with great characters, beautifully detailed descriptions of the area, amazing and suspenseful story line with romance, and a happily ever after that keeps you turning the pages, and losing track of time while you’re reading. I enjoyed the book so very much and highly recommend it. I look forward to reading the next one in line and want to go back and read the books I missed as soon as I can.

This is such a delightful romance between an Irish maid (Keely) fleeing a difficult situation where she works in England--now a liar and a thief--and the kind owner (William) of a cattle ranch in Idaho. England's rules and strict title system by lineage. How she ended up in Idaho is a twist in the story, as well as the connection between William and the woman Keely stole from. Sweet sufferin' cats!

Robin Lee Hatcher continues her The British Are Coming Series. So glad she did. It's based in the Tetons.  I've been there once.  It is totally unreal.  Perfect location for this wonderful story.

Keely flees her homeland as danger lurks.  She does what she had to to escape even if is completely against her nature.

Something or someone is endangering his ranch.  His cattle and water source has been poisoned.

Attraction between the two is instant. But William being a GOD fearing man tries to keep his distance. Do you think that works?  Keely has a secret that can ruin everything.

To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher is the fifth book in the The British Are Coming series. It's a captivating, well-written story based on Christian principles. A beautiful story of hope and love in the old wild west. The story has wonderful, lifelike characters that you get to know well. It was nice to have a glimpse into the life of that day.

Spoiler alert

This is the fifth book in The Series the British Are Coming; which I have loved every single book! They can all be read as a stand alone title, but reading them together lets you fall in love with Eden's Gate and all the characters and their chance for love and redemption or a saving of sorts. I sat down an dread this book in one sitting and didn't want to put it down.

This book captures the patience, integrity, and gentle strength of William Overstreet and how he falls in love with Keely, an unlikely prospect. Keely was seen as having a "fire within her. A will to survive." Keely had "fought tooth and nail, through hardship and hunger, against loneliness and fear. She had survived. But not always with grace. Not always with honor. She had not asked God what to do or trusted Him to guide her. The choices she'd made had been her own. She had acted out of desperation and sometimes out of defiance. BUT...She wanted to be different now She wanted to do better. Was it enough or too late." She wanted to better better but did not know if she could be better. Keely had always longed to be respected, cherished, and to find where she belonged. She made her way to Eden's Gate by stealing to pay for passage from the man's sister she fell in love with! She was orphaned at an early age and a housemaid in England. She was not always respected for her Irish background and red curly hair. Keely had to fight to escape untoward and poor intentions from a man of wealth thinking he could force himself on her. She made her way across the country lying and stealing just to survive to a place she had only seen painted by a former acquaintance who was always cordial to her when in England.

Keely arrived at Eden's gate and was hired to assist Miss Adler in the kitchen and with household tasks. She first found a friend in a four legged pup named Rowdy, whom I also fell in love with! I laughed so hard envisioning the spilled bucket of water in Miss Adler's kitchen while Rowdy ran through the suds and Keely cleaned. She was also befriended by Veronica and by the end of this book, Keely had found what she had always longed for but never dared to dream she would find; a place of belonging. She survived a poisoning by tea and went on to not only fall in love with William, but earn his love in return. She found acceptance, forgiveness and freedom from the shame of previous choices she made with William at Eden's Gate. "She had truly found where she belonged. God Himself had seen to that." She and William, "stood in the quiet, hearts still learning the rhythm of a shared life but anchored in grace, tested by truth, and held fast by love".

To Find Where She Belongs is the fifth installment in the “British are coming,” romance adventure book series by Robin Lee Hatcher, a London maid so bereft of kindness wrist everything to get away from a dangerous situation and follow a man she barely knows across an ocean to America because he was the only one she remembers being kind to her. when Allie fled Hook Manor her only thought was to get to Idaho and Eden‘s gate where she knew the Artist Roger lived but when she arrives instead of Roger she meets Mrs. Adler the head housekeeper and her boss William. she was out of money with an empty belly no place to stay in no friend that she knew of when William said she could stay there and work for Mrs. Adler. Soon however she learns Roger does live nearby but unfortunately he lives with Victoria who he loves beyond measure and they’re expecting. Allie decides to make the best of it and stay at Eden‘s Gate as long as she can she even starts going to church with them and find herself thinking about William but what Allie doesn’t know is William is thinking about her too. Where William is concerned he quickly pushed it to the side because he has problems of his own it seems someone is out to ruin his ranch and steal his cows and now is not the time to be thinking about his new housekeeper alley. Not only that Ally has a secret that she hopes no one finds out but soon everyone will will Allie find a home in Idaho will William even have a home to offer. This I know is a horrible review about another great book it seems the better the book is the worst my review is. When I saw this was part of the series I decided to read the first four books before this one and I loved all of them. they’re standalone’s although people from previous books do make cameos in the current book I love that it wasn’t insta Love at all I love that they both love Jesus Christ and their slow tentative romance was So Sweet and spoon worthy I just really liked the slow pacing Allie is such a sweet girl and at first I thought she was too much of a girl to be with grown-up William but by the time everything was out in the open I was definitely rooting for both of them. This is a great book and I definitely recommend to Christian historical romance fans I think those who love that genre will also love this book. #BookSirens, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview,

“I love you. I’ll love you for the rest of my days. So please. Come back. Come back to me, Keely. Let me show you what love looks like when it stays. Let me fight for you.”

This wonderful forced proximity story is overflowing with faith and has danger, secrets, suspense, and love.

William! I was so happy to get William’s story. He was an anchor and encouragement in the past three books and he deserves his happily ever after. William is strong, patient, caring, and determined. I loved that his faith only grew in spite of the trials his ranch was facing. His friendship with Roger was so fun. I loved his tender care of Keely, his ranch hands, and his animals. His attraction to Keely and his battle with his feelings was perfectly balanced with their quick friendship. I loved his determination to show Keely his love. Keely is hard working, kind, and hiding a few secrets. I enjoyed her friendship with Victoria. She definitely struggles with her secrets and her love for William. I loved her repentance and desire to do better. I loved seeing Keely come back to the faith of her childhood. William and Keely have a love that faces a few trials but come out strong in the end!

A few more quotes:
“Do you think you could learn to love me too?” “I would not need to learn, William Overstreet. For ’tis true I love you already.”

“I realized something while I’ve been waiting for you to wake up.” With great effort, she whispered, “That you love me?” She received a soft chuckle in reply. “No. That I already knew.”

“You’re my home, Keely. Always.” “And you’re mine.”

Note: This is book five in the series but can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book & will definitely have to go back to read the others in this series! Ms. Hatcher writes about characters with clarity and integrity. As Keely comes to America to escape harm, she's had to do some law breaking things to get there. Nevertheless, she's safe now & hopes to find here friend in Idaho. She's always had a crush on him. Maybe they'll even marry when they reunite. Perhaps she's found a new beginning to a new life in Idaho.
When Keely arrives at Eden's Gate, she discovers that her friend is already married. What to do now? Who'll take her in? How can she survive? Fortunately, William, the owner of the ranch has a heart of compassion for Keely & offers her a job. What would William do if he found out Keely's secret? Would her cast her out? How would she survive? After all, she's only a housemaid who'd come with little more than the clothes on her back & the secrets in her heart.
Meanwhile, someone's poisoning the cattle at Eden's Gate. Such a mystery. Will William discover who's doing it?
I enjoyed "To Find Where She Belongs" for its sweet romance, integrity of the main characters, & the hope of second chances. And such an appropriate title! I highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

'To Find Where She Belongs' is a rather enjoyable clean Christian romance. The pace is slow, but contemplative rather than boring. The tone is enjoyable, and the Christian aspects are well written. There are mysteries and internal struggles driving the plot forward. Early on, our heroine mentions an attempted assault on her. However, while the emotional fallout of this is mentioned, the details of the attacks are sparse and do not bring down the enjoyment of the novel and should not be an issue for survivors.
I found the climax rather dull, however, and though the ending ties everything up, I was rather disappointed. There is no confrontation with the villain and his downfall is only briefly touched on in the epilogue with absolutely no reasoning behind his actions. Similarly, the pregnancy (of a side character) in the book is painted as rosy which rather annoyed me. Lying about the reality of pregnancy only alienates our soon to be mothers. I think this is perhaps a Christian novel trying to shy away from the harsh realities and confrontations in life by writing them all in a breezy tone. I would have rated it higher if not for these points. Despite this, it is still a book worth reading.
I recommend 'To Find Where She Belongs' to lovers of Christian romance.

I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed them immensely. I have especially found William Overstreet a steady and gentle, although authoritative man. He is, of course, the owner of Eden's Gate, the setting for all the stories. However, he now finds himself alone on his own ranch and never thought it would bother him. He's been alone before but now after several years of having friends and family in and out of the ranch, he finds that he misses the company.
Keely Boyle flees Hooke Manor in England for America over an untenable situation but has to do something she despises to flee. Now she feels guilty and shameful. When she comes to Eden's Gate in Idaho hoping to find the one person she knows in America and doesn't find him there, what will she do? She's penniless!
I felt deeply for both of these characters. As their friendship grew and trouble on the ranch begins, what will happen between them? William is pulled in different directions, and Keely is bogged down by her guilt and her new feelings for William. I loved how God worked in both of their lives in different ways. A true story of redemption, grace, healing, and love.

This is the first book I read by Robin Lee Hatcher. I really enjoyed it! It is the book for April’s Christian Fiction Reading Challenge. Here is a brief synopsis of the story:

The book is written in the time period of 1897.

William is the master of a huge ranch (Eden’s Gate) in Idaho. Keely is a young lass who comes from Ireland but worked and lived in England as a housemaid. She worked for William’s sister, Jocelyn. She had to leave England due to unwanted advances, and stole jewelry and money for her passage to America. Robert and Victoria are good friends of William, and Keely hoped Robert would help her when she came to America.

William’s ranch goes through some trials, and the ranch hands and William have to figure out who is out to get them! Keely also gets poisoned as well! This story intertwined God’s grace and forgiveness as Keely learns how to ask for forgiveness for her own mistakes. William and Keely fall in love. It has lots of plot twists and turns. It is a book you won’t want to put down!

I’m sure you will enjoy reading this story. It is the 5th book in the series”The British Are Coming”.

This was a beautiful story of finding forgiveness and love. Keely is burdened with shame and guilt because of what she did in the past, and finds it hard to believe that God can love her or bless her but thiwith love and happiness. Running from a bad situation in England, she travels to America in search of the only man who showed her kindness only to find that he is happily married and she is left with no money and nowhere to go. William, the brother of her employer in England, takes her on as a maid in his household, giving her safety and stability. As they fall in love, she must face the consequences of her actions, even though she has received forgiveness from God. They face a crisis on the ranch, loss of cattle, and the an attack from a former acquaintance, but they continue to put their trust in God and allow forgiveness to bring healing. I enjoy seeing the differences in cultures, English vs American and how they can overcome the differences and find happiness.

To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher is a beautiful story about grace and forgiveness. The novel offers many profound lessons about vulnerability, handling shame, forgiving oneself and others, and most importantly, extending grace.

I appreciated the way the characters slowly found their way to each other — shyly, but with tenderness and heartfelt gestures. Shame is a central theme in this story, and Robin Lee Hatcher handles it with sensitivity and wisdom. It was also eye-opening to see Keely’s struggles from her own perspective and to understand her weaknesses without judgment.

My main concern was the ending, which didn’t feel fully resolved. I would have liked a clearer resolution, particularly regarding the reasons behind the villain’s cruel actions toward William.

Aside from that, this was an enjoyable read with both emotional depth and meaningful insight. If you enjoy sweet, tender romance stories that explore faith, grace, and personal growth, this book is worth reading.

“I love you. I’ll love you for the rest of my days. So please. Come back. Come back to me, Keely. Let me show you what love looks like when it stays. Let me fight for you.”

It's 1890, and Keely has left England for Idaho, hoping to find refuge with an old aquantaince, and instead ends up working for William Overstreet. They have an instant attraction, though it seems that they are not destined to be together, and Keely has a secret that is eating her up inside...

I really enjoyed this! It was a slow-paced, light-hearted, contemplative novel with faith woven seemlessly and beautifully throughout. The mystery aspect added a nice layer to the story, and I liked how naturally the romance grew between Keely and William.

This was a heartfelt, easy read that left me feeling comforted and hopeful, and I'd definitely like to explore more of Hatcher's novels in the future.

Honesty and compassion
Housemaid, Keely, flees England to escape intimidation and makes her way to Idaho after she had discovered this was a friend’s destination. Circumstances have changed, however, and Keely is fortunate to find employment at Eden’s Gate Ranch. Unfortunately, her guilt at her past actions influences her newfound contentment.
A well-written novel, with excellent plot progression, that catches the reader’s attention from the first page. This story describes the deliberate blurring of class distinction in rural Idaho (thus opening doors previously inaccessible to Keely) with realistic accounts of ranch life, including potential threats to ranch owner, William’s livelihood.
I received an advance review copy for free, and regret that I was not aware of previous books which would have explained the background of the various secondary role players. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
