The main reason, why I picked this up is the title. Yep, I love stories about billionaire and penniless girls. I thought this would captivate me, but it doesn't.
Gabriel is the billionaire, Beth is the penniless girl. She works in a coffee shop where Gabriel always buy his coffee. Both of them are attracted to each other.
Because of Beth's financial situation (as we all usually encounter in a billionaire book), Gabriel came to the rescue. He offer Beth a job to be his live-in housekeeper and cook. He only did that, to approach Beth because obviously he was attracted to her. But, Beth was a bad chef and still Gabriel wanted to hire her.
So, the lives of those two began and here's what really went down for me. The story got so sweet that I had my toothache. Gabriel did not treat Beth like his employee but more like a wife. He bought her dresses and even gave her a ridiculous high wages for a housekeeper. Their relationship, moved so fast and there's not a single thing that can make me go 'oooh" and 'aaawww'. It's just so ordinary and pretty predictable.
I was telling myself, why the hell am I wasting my time reading this? I'm bored and needed something that can make my eyes popped open the entire time while reading.
That's why this book, needed to be put down. Premise is good, just that it didn't captivate me the way I expect it to be.
"The CEO..." is the sixth installment to Terry Tower's "Coffee Shop Girls Series" although every installment can be a stand alone read. Once again, I was not disappointed with this story. Beth, a struggling 22 year old coffee shop girl is down on her luck. Struggling financially, she needs a miracle in order to pay her bills & get the chance to attend college.
Enter Gabriel Reynolds, the CEO of Gabriel Reynolds Enterprises. He's a regular customer at Beth's coffee shop & has harbored a crush on her for some time. Seeing her struggles & seeing the opportunity to spend time with her, he offers her a job as his full time live-in chef/housekeeper. Desperate, Beth agrees & from there they develop a sweet & hot romance.
Overall, I really enjoyed this read. It had all the ingredients that Terry Towers always has in her writing: likeable characters, a sweet & sizzling romance between the hero & heroine, and a happy ending that always leaves the reader satisfied. This was another engaging read from Towers & I can't wait to see what's in store for the next coffee shop girl!
I loved this book but not enough to grant the 5 star that I was so hoping for. This author made many drops with this book a few stories that I thought were going to go further didn't and that really wasn't nice, I would have liked the story line to continue in places where it dropped. This author brings the dom/sub into the book but doesn't continue the story it drops in places with an ex and I felt cheated cause of the drop off I wanted to read more but alas not to be. Hot and sexy
Terry this was my favorite one of them all. I like the character Beth, she was a character that had a rough time trying to get though life day by day. Then there was Gabriel who was just every girls fanatic fantasy. He had a surprise about him that was a fanatic one. (A Dom) I love the story line and the characters in this story. Again to short for me, only because I very much enjoy Terry's writing... thanks for writing this story...
The CEO and the Girl from the Coffee Shop- Terry Towers Gabriel knows what he wants and nothing is going to stop him, but is Beth ready for him? Find out in this quick paced, sexy tale of a dominant and his sexy coffee shop pet. I liked this sexy, easy read. It wasn't too much, but was entertaining.
This was a good read, but a little pridictable. Since the characters basically had the hots for each other from the very beginning, there really wasn't a level of excitement or intrigue to keep me enthralled. Overall, I'd recommed it as a nice read, but not a must read.
Each book in the series keeps getting better and better. I'm so hooked I had to buy them all. The steamy scenes were hot. The storyline was spot on and was well executed. The ending was cute.
this was so boring 150 pages of predictability. title pretty much gives it away. I needed way too much more in this to enjoy it. there were about 12 really nice saucy parts but mostly just bleh
We should all be so lucky. Beth is working her way through college but can't seem to make ends meet. Gabriel, a successful CEO, offers her a better paying job. The perks are unbelievable.
