this series felt like a lana del rey song come to life.
the love between emma and aleksander was never spoken aloud, nor did they even kiss once the whole series, but i could still feel it. like a gentle breeze on a sunny day. the two of them not only enjoyed each other's company but also understood each other, making the story even more magnificent.
⠀ ⠀ ๋࣭ ⭑ i believe the fact that emma had never seen aleksander but understood and adored him so deeply added to the allure of the story. i loved how patient aleksander was with emma- how he’d let her trace his face with her hands, how he’d dress her up, how he’d stick with her when they went outside because he always worried about her, how he’d be rough with everybody around him but spoke gently towards her, how he’d joke with her, and how he’d treat her like a regular human being even though she was blind.
⠀ ⠀ ๋࣭ ⭑ i have no idea how i fell so deeply in love with this book, since i have a short attention span and cannot focus on a book if it isn't devastating or full of action, and this book did not contain a moment of action or conflict. it was purely cozy. maybe this will be one of the mysteries of life that’ll never be solved.
⠀overall ⟢ i might cry by the fact that this is over… aleksander and emma will never be forgotten as long as i live, for i shall always hold them in my heart. im convinced the only reason why a person could hate this book is that they didn’t understand the deeper theme of love this series portrays secretly.

MY MOST FAVORITE COVER AMONG ALL—so pretty and tranquil. Like their daily life. WE LIVE FOR VEIL, Y’ALL. This is just so beautiful and wholesome, I can’t get enough. I hope we get veil as a treat every year to come. Ugh, seriously, this cover makes my heart melt. I could stare at it for hours.

Un tome qui change un petit peu dans le sens où Emma et Aleksander sont en vacances. On les voit donc profiter tous les deux d’escapades hors de la ville. Il y a cette ambiance plus détendue, plus contemplative aussi qui va de pair avec les vacances. Non pas qu’il y ait des tensions dans les autres tomes, loin de là, mais le changement même minime se ressent.
Le couple est, je trouve, plus complice, plus intime, plus joueur encore que dans les précédents volumes. Il est plus facile d’appréhender les sentiments d’Aleksander notamment grâce aux regards qui lancent à Emma. On voit un homme amoureux cela ne fait aucun doute. Pour la jeune femme, c’est plus subtil. Mais elle est clairement plus aventureuse, plus libre, plus espiègle. Elle ne s’est jamais cachée et s’est toujours montrée sous un jour très naturel, cependant, pour ma part, je note un léger changement. Et c’est vraiment plaisant à voir.
Il y a aussi ces vignettes complètement noires qui « représentent » Emma où seuls les dialogues sont présents. Je n’ai pas le souvenir que c’était un élément présent dans les premiers tomes… mes lectures remontent à un petit bout de temps… mais je trouve l’idée plutôt sympathique. Bien entendu c’est un peu déconcertant, mais c’est la vision de notre héroïne, et cela contraste tellement avec les couleurs si vibrantes du reste du manga. Cela ajoute une touche un peu triste, certes, mais Emma ne l’est pas, bien au contraire. Elle rayonne vraiment.
Parce que l’on oublie qu’elle ne voit pas. Elle semble si à l’aise, malgré ses blessures régulières, et Aleksander ne « voit » pas son handicap. Bien entendu il fait attention à elle à cause de cela, il lui décrit tout ce qu’il voit, il s’amuse même parfois à la taquiner, mais Kotteri arrive à nous faire oublier que son héroïne ne voit pas car cela ne l’empêche pas du tout de vivre, bien au contraire. A chaque histoire, Emma croque la vie à pleine dents et s’autorise tout. Et je trouve que c’est aussi l’un des superbes messages de cette histoire.
Je ne sais pas si une suite est prévue, je l’espère vraiment. Ce tome est sorti en décembre 2025 au Japon donc sûrement trop tôt pour entendre parler d’un numéro 8. Veil n’a pas vocation à avoir une fin en soi non plus. C’est une suite de moments entre deux amoureux qui pourrait continuer indéfiniment. Et que je serai heureuse de suivre encore longtemps, autant pour l’histoire, les personnages que le graphisme. Espérons donc que Kotteri avec ses deux autres projets en cours trouvera le temps de poursuivre.

Veil est un "olni": un objet livresque non identifié. Cette œuvre est au manga ce que la poésie est à la littérature: rare et essentielle.
On se régale à chaque fois qu'une page est tournée et on en voudrait 1000 pages de plus.

BANGER AS USUAL AND STILL MY NO1 MANGA. I'm actually so devastated that it's over. I might indulge in the Italian version to learn Italian. Haha! Beautiful art and marvellous storylines as usual! I thought we were only being fed on twitter by Kotteri but now that I found out about the manga's new volume I've devoured it so fast!

I’m delighted that we got new Veil content, especially with all the hype the manga has been getting. I’ve enjoyed all the earlier volumes, and just when I needed more, it was delivered.
Alexander and Emma’s moments are just so cute. The art is wonderful, I could stare at it for hours. After I read this volume, I went back and reread all six previous ones because the art is so comforting. It’s interesting to be the reader in such intimate moments between the characters. I especially loved the last scene when they went walking at night. Alexander telling Emma she has a “moon hat” was so cute.
I’m a bit agitated that I’ll have to wait a while for more, but it’s “peak” and “peak” takes time to create.

I don't usually comment but i have to say this is one of my favourites tomes of all Veil seires. Im absolutely in love with this style (that I can't even find something close enough to this piece of art). I also love the plot decisions and the writting itself its just perfection.

A pesar de amar a Emma y Aleksander, la insistencia de Kotteri en no etiquetar su relación cuando está más que claro lo que siente cada uno, se hace repetitiva y frustrante. Sigo admirando su manera de plasmar la intimidad no sexual en sus dibujos pero ‘you can only do so much when nothing happens’

The artsyle has imptoved tons like theres way more details in eavh chapter compared to the previous volumes and its so beautiful espesially the shafows that are added its like looking and a masterpiece (cuz it is a masterpiece) im inlove with this srties it was adorable
