I may live in the shadow of my family, but I’m a man of my own design. While my brothers are dictated by darkness, I’m ruled by ambition and a simmering rage. Neither of which I can control, not that I would even want to.

It’s because of those explosive traits that I met my Angel, my other half in this insane world. Oakley Pines is everything I’ve always wanted in a woman. Gorgeous, confident, quick as a whip; she gives just as good as she gets. She’s literal perfection.

Fighting our connection tooth and nail, Oakley will soon learn that she can’t escape destiny. I will have her, I will have all of her, even the parts she so desperately wants to keep hidden from me. She is mine, just as much as I am hers.

Damn her secrets. Damn my family. Damn the consequences.

Holy hell *fans myself* - Summer Riley once again killed it. At this point im collecting fiction MMC from her because Summer doesnt fail with the men she creates and writes.

God damn Griffen is hot!! And Oakley is the perfect girl for him- hands down. I absolutely loved this book- I loved the story line and the spice was spicing. Hockey might be my new favorite things.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

WOW! Summer killed this book!! I was so excited to read this book because I love these brothers and wanted to know more about them, and boy did we. I love how even though Mav is part of this wild family, he’s tame compared to them, but he still has the demons and voices that all his brothers have. I love that Mav fell HARD for his girl and that it was a touch, her and d!e!! This man was obsessed with her in the best ways and the not-so-best ways!😉He definitely became my favorite brother but I have a feeling that Linc is gonna take that spot! Now, Oakley, I loved her character and how she’s trying to find more about the Douglas brothers because she wants to get to the bottom of her friend’s disappearance. When everything was revealed I threw my kindle across the room because I didn’t expect the twists and turns of this book! Summer, you got me good with some of them; a girl was shook. Also, I can’t wait for Linc’s book because this man had me rolling on the floor anytime he came on the page. I loved that he was dark and murdery, but yet he had this great sense of humor. Also, did I mention that this is a dark hockey book? Because I love hockey books, but a dark hockey book is even better. I love this book sooo much. This book will make you laugh so hard because these brothers are something else; you can go check the first book out while you wait for this book to come out on February 11!! You won’t be disappointed.

🏒🩵Thank you so much for the ARC! This review is my opinion🩵🏒

Oakley Pines is my girl crush. This fmc is strong willed, take no ish, and fiercely loyal to those who have earned it. So, when she meets the cocky (yet total goofball), Griffin Douglas the attraction is not welcome but instant. And
Griffin is in a dark place. With his family, being in a dark place isn't necessarily a good thing. Yet the sparks between these two are explosive. What follows is a rollercoaster of emotions. She is his and there is no changing his mine. She doesn't want to be attracted to him as she is secretly investigating his brother for being an unaliver. Did I mention that he is a hockey player and if you've seen the videos of hockey warm ups... well the spice is spicy. Oh, and there is a mask at some point *hint, hint, wink, wink*. This is more of a dark romcom and will have you laughing out loud at times. Definitely on my current top ten list. As always, Summer drew me into the world of the Douglas family and didn't let go until I reached the end.

The Maverick by Summer Riley

Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice- 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

The Maverick is the second instalment in the ridiculously addictive Douglas Brothers Series, packed with dark witty banter, scandalous secrets, borderline stalking, sizzling chemistry, and corruption.

Griffin Douglas is a smooth-talking southern charmer who's used to getting what he wants with his charm alone, but when he meets Oakley Pines, he quickly realises he needs to bring his A-game to win her over, and he's willing to do whatever it takes.

Oakley isn’t who she portrays herself to be. She is driven by a hidden agenda and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. She possesses intelligence and sass, always ready to flash her award-winning smile.

Can Oakley really fight her attraction to the Yetis' center, Griffin Douglas?

Will Griffin defy his family to support Oakley, who is determined to take down his older brother, Sutton?

Damn the consequences.

I found The Maverick to be completely captivating, and although it may not be as intense as The Tycoon, it's equally enjoyable. I absolutely loved the undeniable chemistry and connection between Griffin and Oakley.

Summer's unique writing style captivated me from the very beginning, drawing me into her books and leaving me eagerly awaiting more.

I would like to thank Summer Riley for this fantastic opportunity. I received this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

Highly recommend🖤

I didn't jump on the bandwagon for hockey romance because I hate following a trend. But then Summer goes and releases a hockey romance and now I'm in love. The second book of her Douglas Brothers series follows the young hockey star of the family and his new interest, sports reporter Oakley Pines. She a fiery redhead who balances out Maverick's love sick puppy personality.

This was a super cute and spicy romance that really begins to dive into the secrecy and darkness of the Douglas family. I am getting so excited for the next two books!!

ARC

This is Book 2 of the Douglas Brothers. It a spicy, Hockey, dark romance with some humour. There's some v!olence with a sprinkle of mürd3r,  some stalking and obsession

I was drawn in, wanting the best for the FMC straight away, she's a sports reporter who hides a secret

The MMC maybe the tamest of his brothers but no less, the MMC of a dark romance call for

I can't wait for more as there are more brothers and this family is totally unhinged but i still, want one of the brothers to fall for me 🤣

ARC Review:
This book was everything! This is book 2 of the brothers and I am obsessed! I couldn’t put it down. The characters in this book are so unique and different from those in the first book. Oakley and Griffin are just so perfect. From the way they first meet in an interview, to the obsessive relationship. Summer did a beautiful job with the light stalking to the fun extra kinks. ( I won't spoil it.) By far my favorite book of the series so far. I love this book so much and am so thankful I was given the opportunity to read it.

Let’s start off by saying that Sutton is nothing compared to Mav!
This was my first hockey romance, and I absolutely loved it. The story kept me completely hooked, and I genuinely never knew what was coming next.

Out of all Summer’s books I’ve read so far, this one really highlights just how much her writing has evolved. I was super impressed and would definitely recommend giving this series a go.

Now I’m just over here praying the next book is all about Linc the unhinged chaos king himself!

The second in the interconnected world of the Douglas brothers and dare I say it……I love Griffin more than I love Sutton. That’s not fair I love them both equally but Griffin’s goofy nature made me laugh so hard. He’s like a precious little puppy (who does bite)…..him being a hot af ice hockey player is just a sweet bonus. Oakley is everything you want in a FMC. She is fierce and doesn’t take any prisoners. I love that she is determined to find out what happened to her old friend, won’t let it go and is fully convinced Sutton is behind it. I laughed so hard at several points during the story and a lot of that is to do with the sneak peaks of Linc that we get. I just know he is my favourite Douglas brother. He is hilarious and unhinged so just my type. I say this is lighter than The Tycoon but still check trigger warnings please?!
