The last Whitmore returns to the windswept shores of Nantucket, where the past refuses to stay buried.

On July 4, 1998, a devastating fire consumed the White Oak Lodge, and Jack Whitmore was presumed dead.

But last summer, when his sister Nina returned to Nantucket, long-buried secrets began rising to the surface. A chance encounter with an old photograph led her to a shocking Jack Whitmore didn’t die in that fire. He reinvented himself as Seth a repairman, husband, and father living quietly in Hawaii, hiding from both the law and the dangerous reach of their uncle, Tio Angelo.

There’s just one problem. Seth Green has vanished.

Under mysterious circumstances, Jack returns to Nantucket for Thanksgiving, drawn back by his mother’s worsening cancer and the long-awaited rebuilding of the White Oak Lodge. Reuniting with the siblings he left behind forces him to confront the life he abandoned. But the hardest truth still lies ahead.

His wife, Addison, believes she knows the man she married. She doesn’t know he was once Jack Whitmore.

Can she forgive the lies that built the foundation of their life together? Can love survive the truth about who he really is?

As the Whitmore family closes in on answers about the fire that changed everything, Tio Angelo tightens his grip, threatening the fragile peace they’ve begun to rebuild. To protect the future and finally reopen the White Oak Lodge, the Whitmores must face the secrets that nearly destroyed them.

And this time, no one is running from the truth.

Wild at Heart is book five of The Whitmore Series, a heartfelt and hopeful family drama perfect for your next beach read.

Book 5 focuses on Seth Green (Jack Whitmore) and his life in Hawaii with his wife Addison and three children. When he realizes Tio Angelo, the cause of all the Whitmore family's problems, is following him, he leaves his family and tries to catch up with him and face him. The story also takes place in Mexico, New York City and on Nantucket Island. The goal to unite the entire Whitmore family is paramount. The series has seamlessly followed the lives and reunion of all the family members.

Jack (Seth) returns home! His life has been full of lies and determination in finding his horrible uncle. After finding Addison he was happy with her and his children; however, his uncle continued to stalk and threaten his new life. Hopefully he will pay for his crimes. Katie keeps you guessing throughout. Looking forward to the conclusion to a wonderful story.

something to read in a waiting room

This family is a mess. Affairs, drug dealing, blackmail- and somehow they overlook it all because they love each other? Fiction - surely no one would tolerate any of these situations!
