EVERYTHING you could want from a Romantasy! This is easily a 5 star read! There’s tension, thrills, intrigue, jealousy, love, self growth, and friendship. This book made me fall in love with the brother vs brother trope… oh my goodness. So hot! If I haven’t sold you yet, this book is literally wolf shifters meets Vampire Diaries. 10/10 recommend. Can’t wait for book 2!

June 4, 2026This was my very first romantasy read, and it didn't disappoint! Right from page one, I was sucked in by Aven's quirky personality and sense of humor. The delightful part is this was genuinely a funny book. I was smiling along with almost every chapter, and comedy is no easy feat to master. Since Aven was instantly set up as both likable and relatable, I found myself invested in her rediscovery arc and how she was going to achieve that. Enter the two brother MMCs and their revelations about Aven's role.
Like other readers have said, it's genuinely hard to choose a favorite brother. I think I lean slightly more towards Hunter since I tend to like the softer, sweeter types, but my love of enemies to lovers makes the Aven/Onyx scenes crackle, as well. Since this is a "why choose?" romance, I like that both MMCs balance each other so well and create the perfect dynamic for Aven amidst their protection and loyalty.
I was unaware this was going to be a series, so I'm pretty tickled to see I don't have long at all to wait for the second installment. The stakes were set by the end of book one, and I can guarantee this series is going to hurt since the audience will find it difficult to NOT care for these characters in some way. Regardless of what awaits, I happily say bring on book two!

Between the Moon and Wildflowers by Marlowe Atwater completely hooked me within the first few chapters — and I mean hooked. For a debut novel, this was incredibly confident, immersive, and emotionally layered.
If you love slow-burn paranormal romance with tension you can feel building on every page, this one delivers. The pacing is intentional, giving us time to really settle into the world and the heroine’s journey. The FMC is strong and independent, but not in a forced way. She’s figuring herself out, reclaiming pieces of who she is, and learning how powerful she truly can be. Watching that growth unfold felt raw and real.
And the MMCs? Shifters. Protective. Intense. Completely gone for her from the start. The instant attraction is there, but it’s balanced beautifully with longing and restraint. The chemistry simmers instead of explodes, which makes every interaction feel charged and meaningful. You can practically feel the pull between them.
The atmosphere of this book is what really stood out to me — it feels earthy, emotional, and just slightly wild in the best way. There’s tension, yearning, and that delicious sense of something bigger building beneath the surface.
By the final pages, I wasn’t ready to leave this world or these characters. It absolutely leaves you craving book two — and I will be first in line to read it.

Like many first novels, it wears its genre influences proudly, and the underling premise and character dynamics suggest a writer with plenty of potential.
This is a breezy, easy-to-read paranormal romance that blends the familiar beats of shifter romance with a modern self-discovery arc. The premise - a Manhattan professional retreating to a remote cabin after a breakup - sets up an engaging fish-out-of-water scenario that drives the pacing well and offers readers an accessible entry point into the worldbuilding.
The central why-choose love interests are emotionally evolved twin brothers with contrasting personalities but a shared interest in our FMC. The antagonist - the head of a rival shifter group - is introduced at first as a classic 'nice guy' who thinks he's entitled to the heroine, making him unsettlingly recognizable as a figure we've likely all met in real life.
The rotating first-person POV is chatty and packed with po-culture references. At times the dialogue has a quick, bantering rhythm re3mnbiscent of Gilmore Girls, which keeps the narrative moving along at a steady clip.

If you want a modern day why choose shifter romance with two alpha males and a strong feisty FMC, then run to get this book!
This book is a quick fun shifter romance that will have you hooked and entertained through the entire story. This was actually my first why choose romance and I was nervous about how I’d feel. I love that intense possessive “fated” type of love that I thought I’d only get with one MMC. I was proved wrong with this story! I felt ALL of the feelings I wanted with both of the MMCs. I honestly don’t think any female could choose between these two brothers. The author does a fantastic job at connecting our FMC to each of them in different, but equally deep/profound ways.
Aven is my favorite kind of FMC. She is strong, smart, and fierce but in a way that readers can relate to. I felt an emotional connection with her through the entire story from start to finish. I honestly felt so much love for all three of these characters and I am dying for the next book in this story!!
Also, this book is low key hilarious. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading this. I will be reading every book that this author writes!

This felt like the paranormal romances I obsessed over in my twenties but deeper and more emotionally layered. The slow burn is REAL! You can tell the spice is right around the corner, though! The yearning is next level! I’m obsessed with the characters. The brother who loves her quietly? Devastating. The tension among the three characters is built on loyalty and longing rather than jealousy, which makes the romance feel adult and intentional. This book lays such a strong emotional foundation. You can feel this story building toward something bigger, and I’m fully on board with wherever it goes. I know it’s going to be awesome! Not to mention, it is low-key so funny at times!

I cannot even fathom words! I loved this book, I don’t like to drop spoilers, but I highly recommend this book soo much very easy to read ❤️ I was lucky enough to be chosen to be an ARC reader for this! I read this book to prep for Amongst the Wolves and Wildlands, book 2 in this fated mates series. I was so thankful I had book 2 to start immediately. I am loving the world of Aven, Onyx, and Hunter. If you like a modern take on fated mates then this is a great series to read. Off to take my blood pressure meds because book 2 has my system in over drive, lol!

First chapter had me hooked. Aven is my kind of FMC. Her boyfriend dumps her and she needs to take some time to find herself and recover, so she takes a leave of absence from work, but her boss decides to let her go instead. So Aven decides to vacation off the grid to clear her mind and rediscover what she wants to do. She has no idea where she’s going or what world she has stumbled into. I do not want to spoil anything. I love a good shifter romance and this one did not disappoint. The two MMCs are 🔥 is all I need to say.
