Trusting Him: A Marriage, a Neighbor, and a Lie Too Big to Ignore

Rate this book
She was young. Attractive. And newly widowed.

And far too interested in my husband.

What began as neighborly kindness turned into something else... and - finally - I just couldn't ignore it.

But before things exploded - and despite all the warning signs - I wanted to believe my husband remained faithful to me.

I looked the other way. I even found excuses for his overnight absences.

I was that committed to making our marriage work.

Maybe I was an idiot to trust him as long as I did. But this is real life, not fiction.

This is a true story about obsession, entitlement, and the moment I stopped being a doormat for the widow next door.

Please, learn from my mistakes.

Written by a real person - me - the wife who wanted to believe her lying husband. No AI was used to write or create any part of this book.

(Formerly titled "The Wicked Widow," now updated and edited to tell the full, ugly story.)

Ok read

First, it's just sad that anyone has to go through this. He writing was ok. A bit rushed in some areas, some mistakes. As for the story itself? I kinda want to know what happens next. Maybe too soon. It is strange writing a review on actual events because you can't look at this as a well...she shoulda and he better not. This is more reviewing and in my mind, judging someone's life and how they handled it. Now for my personal opinion like this is a fictional novel, I really hope the ex husband has a wake up call one day and realizes what he lost. I can't believe someone would go to someone who announces to the world she slept with the whole neighborhood but mostly I'd like to see where Pam lands. Hopefully with someone who appreciates her and backs her career. And Pam finds someone who she will have a balance in life. Cause at the end, it isn't the career that will matter. I appreciate the author writing her own story and stresses it isn't AI. I do not respect authors who use AI to write most of their stories and try to claim it as their own. It is sad because we as.readers can pick these AI books out pretty easily because there are so many of them.
Hope this story helps men who think the grass is greener and willing to lose their integrity by not sitting their spouse down and have a heart to heart. I hope this story helps women to stand up and be vocal in their relationships. Couples need to learn to tend to each other as they grow and do life.

I'm not sure how to absorb this. The elephant is still in the room. I'm sure many marriages lose the communication and just live like roommates for years. Never communicating on deep issues of where their hearts are at and working through things. Sounds like to me, the husband was intimidated by the success of his wife's job. So he uses that as an excuse to cheat and finds a woman who strokes his deflated ego. That's what should have been addressed. Heart to heart. But instead, the woman stands on her right to succeed in her business while the husband grovels and rationalizes his cheating. So they part ways. I guess not much was there to begin with. To a man, it can be intimidating when the wife is more successful in the business field. Unless he has a strong character it's going to bother him. But his rationalizations were so cowardly, remembering his new, sexy underwear and all of those things he started doing to enhance his youth. As a reader, you kind of cringed at his immaturity. So much lack of communication it is honestly astounding.

Enjoyable

Interesting true life take? Maybe. It was enjoyable and short. The husband was a jerk and the wife was better off without him imo. If you like these sort of stories, then this should be up your alley. Again, it is very short.

wow.

Crazy how we can live right next to someone and not see the subtle changes and we realize we don’t know them anymore. I hate that Pam had to go through this big hate that Jake was so lost. But each have to grow and love their lives.
