Whispers in the Dark

Rate this book
Dominique Rue's partners blood stained her hands. For ten years they worked together and she refused to admit the true feelings she had for him. Now he was dead. Her life in a shambles and tormented by dreams of his death, she has walked away from it all, her past life, the force, her family. What she didn't bargain for when she moved to St. Agnes, a small town in Eastern Shore, Virginia was Jericho Wolfe, the handsomely nosey next door neighbor. He is enthralled with her and will stop at nothing to find out her secrets and what she is running from. Will his persuasive mind break down the wall she has built around her or add more mortar to the nightmares that plague her sleep?

As stared above, I really liked "Whispers In The Dark." This was my first from Author Denise P. Jeffries. Compared to other works over 400 pages or more this work was just as or more enjoyable to read. There are authors and then there are Authors, and Jefferies is one of those Authors. Dominique and Jericho were believeable and likeable characters. The write up trailer on the back cover gave me what I was to expect between the pages. Many back covers give spin to the aledged novels within, but do not deliever; this book delivered. For me, the best way I enjoyed reading this story was snuggled between the covers with two kitties joining me.
