Hawk: Death's Blade Austin

Rate this book
He’s lived his life in the shadows. Now he’ll burn the world to keep her safe.

Jackson “Hawk” Armstrong Jr. doesn’t do second chances, not in war, not in the MC, and not with love. But when Lia, the woman who vanished from his life five years ago, suddenly reappears, treating his father in a Texas ER, Hawk’s world tilts off its axis.

She’s hiding something. She’s running from someone.
And this time, he’s not letting her go.

Haunted by secrets and hunted by danger, Lia never meant to cross paths with Hawk again. But fate—and family—have other plans. When the threats chasing her close in, Hawk claims what’s his and brings her home to Thunder Creek Ranch. To his bed. To his club. To the only place she’ll be safe.

But danger follows her across state lines—and not everyone in Death’s Blade is ready to welcome her with open arms. With old enemies rising and club loyalties tested, Hawk will have to decide how far he’s willing to go to protect the only woman he’s ever loved.

One woman. One club. One shot at redemption.
And Hawk never misses.

The SEAL and his beloved Doc.

This is the first book in the Death’s Blade MC series and after avidly reading it, I am anxiously awaiting succeeding novels written by this wonderful author. This was a well written and angsty book and the story is deliciously poignant, emotional and riveting, begging you to dive in and travel along with the journey. It is an MC series that lays out the rules of an exceptional and focused brotherhood, but is filled with action, drama, emotional depth and though the underlying plot continues through successive books, there is a sweet serving of HEA for the main couple.

Lia is a medical intern in the ER and determinedly plodding through her everyday whilst her thoughts dwell on her beloved navy boyfriend who has been one year away on his latest deployment. Unfortunately she is captured by someone whose ‘business’ is being impacted by her boyfriend Hawk’s work and she is put in the position of medically assisting trafficked girls. When she escapes and enters witness protection, she deals with the trauma of five years of being hunted and chased by her monsters, till she clashes with Hawk and the story explodes from there.

Jackson/Hawk returns from his year+ deployment to a missing Lia and he spends a frantic year looking for her, before he gives in to the inevitability of his confused thoughts and joins the Death’s Blade MC. A couple of years down the track and he resides on his family ranch as President of the Austin chapter of the MC, with his faithful bond-brother Rock as his VP. Through their charter’s dangerous missions of rescuing trafficked females, he comes back into contact with his Lia and once he accepts her whole story of hiding to protect him and that she didn’t just run away from him, he was all in with making sure his girl never disappeared from his life again.

This book was filled with themes of emotional drama and betrayal, angsty action and intrigue, a multitude of problems requiring creative solutions and still delivered the smexy spice that I so enjoy in my romance! All the characters in this tale provided emotional depth and unexpected banter, which leaves me salivating for the next book in this series.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of respite this reading has gifted me and thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.

Wow!!! This book was so good. The story is about Lia and Hawk (Jackson) and the incredible journey they both have to get back to each other. Lia and Hawk are an established couple and dedicated to each other with a history. This not a new love found story but one of their love being targeted by evil and then they are ripped apart for 5 years.

Lia's monster keeps her running and hiding for 5 years with the belief that Hawk is dead. Hawk comes home from deployment to an empty apartment and a missing girlfriend who he spends years trying to find when he finally gives up he joins the Death's Blade MC and then starts the Austin chapter using his families ranch as head quarters.

A not so chance meeting finds Hawk running to Lia as she is his father doctor but she is using a different name. She is absolutely shocked he is alive and he is pissed thinking she had just up and disappeared. When the truth comes out they are inseparable and still love each other so much.

Lia is still in danger from her monster and she learns most of the people that helped her disappear where really betraying her. Hawk with the help of the Death's Blade MC protect her and try to vanquish their enemies.

This book has it all; action, betrayal, intrigue, death, established and renewed love, new family found, spiciness and so mush more. The secondary characters, Pops, Mira, Brass and so many others are just as interesting as our Maine couple and I know Rock is the next book, which I can't wait for. I can't recommend this book enough. This was a new author to me and now am reading her backlist.

This is Book 1 in the Death’s Blade MC Austin Chapter. This is a new to me series and author so I couldn’t help wondering how good it would be. Well, let me say that it’s now in one of my one-click authors list. We meet Dr. Lia Morgan and let’s just say, wow, what a strong woman. She’s on the run from a man who kidnapped her, but she doesn’t give up. She was forced to see her man be killed but it just made her stronger in my eyes. Now she has found out that he’s still alive. Jackson or Hawk as he’s called in his MC sees her again after her being gone for 5 years. Now he’s determined to keep her safe. The things that happen as their story is told kept me interested and on the edge of my chair. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one. Now, I’m off to read more of her books until the next one in this series comes out.

Did you ever have a book you couldn’t even put down when brushing your teeth? This is definitely one of those!

MC novels have become my new go to reads and I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for this one!

I was hooked from the first chapter. Not sure if it’s categorized as a second chance trope, but it’s definitely my kind of second chance!
I loved the comic relief lines when it was provided by Chains, Pop, Ares and Hades.

What a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for Rock and hope to get some Dallas and Kansas City series too!

I totally recommend this and looking forward to see more of these characters I’ve grown to love!

I love how this Motorcycle club is. Yes some have military members in them but this one has all military members. Take a Navy Seal and add in a medical student and you get a ride of a lifetime. 2 people living their life one day to the next comes heartbreak and betrayal and a very adventurous ride of a lifetime. This book was absolutely amazing and I can't wait until the next one comes out. This author had me hooked right from the beginning and I had a hard time putting this book down. You will have some laughs but expect to need some tissues

The first book in this MC series by K.L.Stephens didn’t disappoint. From the beginning, it was so fast moving that I worried I’d picked up a novella. That turned out not to be the case, and instead I’d found an author that delivered a quick-paced, action-packed story without the filler that can drag for me. This author, new to me, came through with compelling and likable main characters, villains that got what they deserved, and a supporting cast that I can’t wait to see developed throughout the series.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hawk’s Death Blade delivers a thrilling mix of danger, passion, and second-chance romance. Hawk is the perfect rugged protector—loyal, intense, and impossible not to root for—while Lia brings emotional depth and mystery to the story. The chemistry between them crackles from the start, and the blend of MC drama, suspense, and family loyalty keeps the pages turning. Packed with action, heart, and redemption, this is a satisfying romance for readers who love protective heroes and high-stakes love stories. Already looking forward to the next in the series!

This book started out a little slow but giving the backstory a wonderful outline was great. This is a new to me author so I wasn't sure what to expect but I did fall in love with the book and it's characters.
Hawk and Lia? Were given a second chance at a life together by a chance meeting at a hospital.
Together they worked through everything and made way to start their lives together. Granted there was some trouble but was taken care of.
Awesome book 5 star rating.

Good story, writing is solid but it EASILY could have been 100 pages shorter. Between the time MMC found FMC after a long separation, the author wasted 70 pages delaying FMC explaining to MMC why she ran. That was frustrating especially when those 70 pages was filler that contributed absolutely nothing to the story. I will try to read this author again but I hope she doesn’t add unnecessary filler to the next book.

This book was so good. It grabbed me right from the beginning. The amount of suspense, danger and humor mixed in made for a wonderful story. It is not a story for the weak of heart as it does have some gritty elements to the story line. I am excited for the next book in the series.
