LOVE GALAXY is cancelled. The director has fled. And I’ve been abandoned on an alien planet with the ‘love of my life’. Except, the reality is so much worse. Killan and I aren’t compatible. The director made sure of that, never intending to help us find love but planning instead to ruin our lives for the entertainment of our audience. Now that the cameras have been permanently switched off, Killan and I are stuck with each other—at least until I can plan my escape back to Earth and the life I’ve worked so hard to create. Trouble is, nobody knows where Earth is, and all my ideas for escaping keep falling apart. Killan says he’ll help, claiming to wish me gone from his life. So why am I beginning to I suspect he doesn’t actually want me to leave? That he’s only saying those things to help keep me motivated. Why does my heart skip a beat each time he orchestrates a fight? And why can’t I stop dreaming about my co-star and all the ways we challenge each other? Fascinate each other? Excite each other? Maybe we aren’t such a terrible match after all. And maybe enemies really can become lovers…even if it means giving up my home.

3.5 stars Killan and Lydia were both super grumpy and terrible at communicating with each other. Lydia was responding to the massive trauma of having been abducted and losing her whole life in a pretty understandable way. Killan was full of guilt for Lydia’s situation, even though it wasn’t his fault. They finally worked through their stuff after much arguing. I would have liked more heart to hearts.
Spice: 2/5
Triggers: drowning of side character, death, alien abduction, nonconsensual drugging, assault, guns, panic attacks, enclosed spaces, discussion of failed relationships, discussion of family violence and financial abuse
Finally the two grumps! It was totally worth the wait for their story. It was a rocky beginning but they both eventually got their heads out of their butts. Lydia had all her focus on getting home & Killian wasn't going to ruin that for her even if he was desperate for her to stay. Poor guy took all the blame for the ladies getting kidnapped. I hope John Smith gets what's coming to him...wherever he is.
I loved seeing more of the caves and how their farms work. I don't think I would have been as brave as Lydia wanting to explore on her own.
May have also screamed a bit at the Gladiators of Outer Space mention. MY BOYS!
I've been waiting for Killan and Lydia's story and it does not disappoint!
Poor Lydia has been kidnapped and abandoned on an alien planet and Killan feels responsible, leading to some gruffness and misunderstandings.
I don't know why, but I enjoy the grumpy man falling in love. It is nearly always fun to read about. This is also a slow burn, which is another thing I love, but also a nice change to the instalove of the first books.
A nice end to the trilogy, with a shout out to her other duology (Gladiators of Outer Space). It's been a fun few reads.
Do you enjoy grumpy vs grumpy alien romance? (Human FMC, Alien MMC). I have to admit it can be hit or miss for me, but this one was def a hit 🎯.
Series setup: We've got 3 alien brothers who live on a deserted windy planet, where they run their late parents algae farm, & only have each other for company. The youngest brother is obsessed with an intergalactic reality show called Love Galaxy, and would do anything to find his mate. He begs his brother's to sign up for the show with him, so they can get mates- and his brothers reluctantly do it bc he's never asked for anything.
Each book tells a different brothers story, & technically can be read alone since each has a HEA. But due to recurring cast and overarching storylines I suggest reading the series in order if you think you'll want to read all of the books.
Book 1 is about the middle brother- who was reluctant to sign up but immediately falls hard for the human female Briar & tries to win her.
Book 2 is the youngest brothers book, & probably my fav of the series- all he's ever wanted is a mate to shower with love, he doesn't know how to be anything but earnest & giddy to show his love. Yet the show's director only cares about ratings, & sets him up for failure by forcing his mate match to pretend to fall for him & then break his heart on TV- or else. He doesn't know the human females were abducted either.
Finally, book 3 is the eldest brothers book & the one I'm reviewing. The production show manager of Love Galaxy abandoned them all after the group messed up his nefarious plans to permanently get rid of Briar for ratings. Leaving the two happy couples, Chloe: the human female assistant who helped the producer with his nefarious plans, and the always arguing duo Killian and Lydia- who must share a house and a bed....
Killian is the eldest brother & feels responsible for leading his family astray by agreeing to do the show- and also correlates that with being the reason the human females were abducted in the first place (bc he agreed to do the show). But as grumpy & stoic as he may always appear, he's a live wire of emotion underneath it. He knows that Lydia wants to go back to Earth. But as guilty as he feels for being the reason she lost her home & future, he can't help but want her to stay- for there not to be a way for her to leave him.
For Lydia's part, she's just angry all the time. Determined to get back to Earth so that all her past sacrifices are worth something. She's purposefully keeping her walls high & not letting herself enjoy anything. Though Killian is stoic and grumpy, he also proves where his brothers got their game from, and that he's the protector everyone claims he is. Read the book if you want to see how it all goes down.
Thoughts: Although I initially wasn't fond of Lydia, I began to understand her and her reasoning once I got to know her and her story. I'm very much a logical thinker, and I'm so glad that the motives made sense & fit their personalities. Killian was amazing & totally my type lol. I loved their bickering, and the way they just got one another. Killian knew what her issue was all along and gave her room to feel everything she needed to.
Overall, it was sweet, had some cave exploring, some culture clashes, some bad guy action, some intimate moments, and a fulfilling HEA that also left me craving more stories in this world.
I recommend for fans of alien romance who enjoyed series such as Ruby Dixon's Corsairs, A.G. Wilde's Barbarians of the Dust, or Ursa Dax's Alien Cowboy Brides series. Really hope to see more competitions or mate match programs. If I had to nitpick something, I'd say I would've liked to see more fun times with the couple and the family as a whole while Lydia wanted to be there- yet I still give this one a 4.5⭐ star rating & can't wait for more books by this author.
Life's short, read whatever makes you happy fellow book lovers! Then tell me about it lol.
You know, it’s funny how Killian and Lydia have that older siblings mentality going on and I ain’t gonna lie, I relate! Dominance was warring constantly.
These two are probably the grumpiest characters I’ve ever come across. I don’t think one was better than the other (in a good way, haha). It felt like I was watching an old married couple, always bickering and needing to make up. But hey, you can’t really fault them for taking on all that responsibility they feel they have.
Lydia and Killian seem like a perfect match (even if they didn’t think so initially). Who else could challenge him and push him to be his best? I think she really complements him. They’re both strong, determined, and resilient. They might be a bit rough around the edges, but they truly care about the people they love.
I received this book as an advance copy and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The last book in the Intergalactic Dating show series, I'm so incredibly sad to see this series now finished but golly gosh, so much love for this book.
Killian and Lydia loved them both. Killian, for our grumpy MMC, he was filled to the brim with emotions, it was so cute. Constantly blaming himself for Lydia getting kidnapped. And the way he slowly opens up to Lydia, honestly it was so sweet. And then our awesome FMC Lydia, I really liked her. Desperate to get back to Earth, she's quite closed off and reserved. It took her a while to open up to Killian.
Watching these two get past their differences fall in love, chefs kiss!! One of my favourite alien romance series and y'all need to get up on this!
LOVE IS ALIEN 👽 The Intergalactic Dating Show, Book 3 @carlottapageauthor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This felt like the SLOWEST burn of my life but boy was it worth it! Killian and Lydia don’t have it easy by any stretch of the imagination. She’s been kidnapped for this reality dating show in SPACE & Killian is eating himself alive with guilt over it. Lydia tries desperately to escape because all she wants is to get back to Earth, right? As this series comes to an end you’ll enjoy this ride as it goes from kidnap to c*ck pocket education 😜
All available on KU, with this 3rd installment releasing February 20th!
She was upset that she was trapped on the planet and his guilt at the thought that she was stuck here wore on them both. Lots of arguments, screaming, yelling and grumpiness between them was actually a type of foreplay. Forced proximity helped them get over their grumpy attitudes as they began to see each other in a different light. Some danger in the caves and then a rescue mission brought them closer and got them to their HEA. I do hope they find the Dixon's to make bread!!!!
As with all the other books, this one was amazing. There was a moment I wasn't sure I'd make it through to the end because Lydia went off script and did dumb things. But itgor back on track and I still loved the book. Killian is my favorite brother and I've been waiting for this book featuring him for forever. Overall the book is great. I really enjoyed it.
I love this series! I was so excited for Taylor and Killan! Two grumps and over thinkers finding love. The miscommunication was gold in this book and written in a way that it wasn't aggravating. I really hope there's another book about their lives in the farm and the making of the documentary Taylor wanted to make.
This was a fun read with an interesting premise. I hadn't read the other books in the series but felt it was easy enough to follow along. It was a forced proximity, he falls first, touch her and *** vibes.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Killian and Lydia. The constant at each other’s throat could’ve been exhausting but Carlotta just knows what to do. A great fun end to a great series.
Set a couple of months after the first two books. This story follows our last couple. A grumpy alien MMC and frustratingly headstrong human FMC. Bit of action, bit of spice, lots of scowling! 😆 Enjoyed this series and love a HEA!
These two! Lydia and Killan can't seem to get on the same page and they are frustratingly stubborn. I love the idea of big strong aliens being fascinated by the weird little humans! The Epilogue emergency was my favorite scene!
This was my favourite of the series. I loved the action and the harvest was interesting. The romance was grumpy/grumpy which was adorable. I liked the tie in to the rest of the series universe also.
