Possessive Small Town Alpha Kings #13

Lycan King’s Rejected Pregnant Bookish Mate: A Rejected Mate Secret Baby Shifter Romance

Rate this book
I got ruined by a Lycan King in my bookstore’s romance section.
He rejected me ten days later,
and now I’m pregnant with his secret twins.

Valerius was a 6’7”, golden-eyed Lycan King-
and apparently my fated mate.

The first time we met, he cracked my counter with his bare hands.
The second time, he locked the door, backed me against the register,
and We consummate this bond now, or I burn the city down.”

I let him burn me instead.
On the counter. Against the bookshelves.
In places I’ll never admit to my customers.

For ten days, he worshipped me like I was already his queen.
Then his enemies found us, and he rejected me, saying;
“I cannot mate with a bookstore clerk.”

How romantic.

Now I’m fading, pregnant, and hunted by my father who poisoned me for twenty years.
But now? I’m not the weak girl Valerius left behind.

I’ve got secret powers in my veins, and I’ve already killed to protect my babies.

And by the time he crawls back through the portal, desperate to save me?

I won't need a king.
I'll need him on his knees.

Valerius

I broke her worse than her abusive father ever did.
I told myself I was protecting her.
I was a coward.

Two weeks in my realm.
Two months in hers.

Now my mate is dying, carrying twins I didn’t know existed.
She doesn’t need me anymore.

But I’m begging anyway.
I will crawl through realms to reach her.
She is my queen, even if she never forgives me.

Love and Positivity

This is my favorite book of the series so far. Valerius appears in the rain outside the bookstore where Elara works. He doesn't act like other Lycans from this series.
He's so strange . Val telling her that her blood called to him and asking who had hurt her as soon as he came through the door I thought perhaps he was something else . He doesn't tell her that she is being poisoned, which may have been helpful. He just brings her an offering of a freshly killed deer.
This book has it all. The pain of a broken bond, the anger and determination to survive, the bumbling attempts of a team of bad guys, lots of humor and love. The excellent writing that not only allows the reader to invest in the story but ends up leaving readers with a feeling of positivity.
