I stole the car. She raced it. Our lives changed forever…
I thought I was in control. I thought I had it all figured out. I didn’t know how wrong I was until it was too late.
It took me eight years. Eight years of watching my best friend be with another man. Eight years of thinking I was in charge, when actually, I controlled nothing.
Now, I want everything that was stolen from me… especially her. I want her. And I’m coming for her. -Amethyst Stone
This book was 650 pages / 11+ reading hours of confusion, unproductive conversations, repetitive thoughts, and lose ends galore with no resolution in sight. AFTER 650 pages- nothing was resolved- NOTHING - and it ended in a cliffhanger! In all honesty this felt like some type of social experiment or a book that Plus 12 wrote because who are all these people haphazardly thrown in for absolutely no reason? I was honestly waiting for Tyler Perry's Madea character to make an appearance because that is just how random most of these characters and their conversations were.
And I get the "big universe" writing but it has to still make sense to the reader and tie into something. What is even crazier is that I have read all the books in this series and I promise you I was still so lost during many parts of this book. IN MY OPINION as a reader, this type of chaos diminishes the authors shine because it exposes how they will prioritized quantity (adding to their catalog) over quality (a good reading experience for their readers).
Then, let's get into Amethyst as a MMC! You know when something is so ridiculous you just have to shake your head and walk away? That is essentially the sum total of his character because for all the good he did it was overshadowed by his inability to have common sense. And I hate that I have these feelings because this is Aubry J - an author that I really like and a series that has kept me interested in finding out what's next from book one. BUT THIS BOOK!??
Even after reading both the Author's Note and the Trigger Warning - because real talk, just because those things were included doesn't make this type of wasted time any better or give clearance to essentially play in our faces with the merry-go-round of words - It actually had the adverse effect for me and diminished the work- especially because of all the nonsense AND THEN all the grammatical errors too!? Nah fam, with all sincerity and love, this AINT IT. This book was a mess in the worst way.
Ignored sleep to read all 650+ pages. I have no words but all the words. Amethyst really is Pyrite’s brother lmaoooo. Them Stone genes are strong. And Legacy really is the only sane one huh?!!
I felt like business was unfinished, no answers to multiple questions, confused at how we got here… it wasn’t the urban fiction I’ve been reading. The familiarity of characters pulled me in. However, there seemed to be multiple story lines going on, which took the focus away from Amethyst & Yale. There was too many plots to follow. Additionally, some poor editing which had me confused at points in the story. Nevertheless, I finished and I can’t wait for this story to be resolved because I need closure. And let me not forget to say Amethyst & Yale were on my last nerves. 🤣
600+ pages and still nothing really resolved. Even reading most of the interconnected books I’m confused on the back stories & how they all tie into each. Not to mention with the adding of more characters it’s making even more difficult to keep up with.
Anticlimactic. Too many twists without any resolution.
I enjoy Aubry J’s writing style, and I have read through most of her catalogue. However, Stolen Love lost me. So much happened in this story, yet nothing at all seemed to be happening at the same time.
Was this really Yale and Amethyst’s story? Sure, maybe about 20% of the book focused on them. The rest of the book was filled with secrets and piecemeal information about another ongoing storyline, along with a revolving door of characters. As soon as I thought we were getting somewhere, I was left hanging again.
I can appreciate Yale just being a girl and not some deranged, unhinged menace like everyone else in his universe. I couldn’t connect with either Yale or Amethyst. Even after the author’s note and trigger warning about the miscommunication trope, I’m still annoyed with them as a couple. The 600+ pages of a wild goose chase left me underwhelmed. Every family is not to be played with, yet they all are getting played.
I have no desire to read what happens with Xoey and Gifts’ storyline.
Once I started I couldn’t put it down. This book was long but for good reason, A LOT happened! Chile I don’t even know where to start from. One thing about Miss Aubry is that she can write her a** off really. Am and Yales story was such a big miscommunication trope, I wanted to scream at Am so many times, he was so hard headed. I just wanted him to slow down sometimes. The plot twists in this book? Ahhhh so much happened. Everything is so connected and so messed up. Corinthians? She’s certified. I cannot wait for her story.
I’m really glad that towards the end Am got his act together and was open about everything, it’s such a shame that it took such a long time for them to get their happy ending. All because they were part of something bigger than them!
I love Papa Stone and Mama Diamond! Cannot wait for Xoey’s story!
These characters feel like real people to me, maybe I need a stint in the asylum with Krude!
That Aubry J done did it again! This book is mind blowing! From the twists you don’t see coming to the secrets being uncovered Will have your head spinning! Take notes in every chapter and join the patreon! This is a five star read!!
Whew chile we wanting Zoey +12 so bad but miss author lady said y’all thinking too singular and missing vital parts because I mean every bit of this 650 hit with a twist and turn from this series/ universe once again you did your big one definitely a good way to start my 2026 reading year
I love Aubry J. And I WAITED FOR THIS TO DROP. This book missed the typical Aubry J. mark. There was too much going on and it took away from Am and Yales story. I wanted to fall for them like all the other couples in the universe but i feel like this couple was overshadowed by ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE. I know this is a set up for the next 2 books (xoey+12 and Corithians) but what about Am and Yale. There story didn’t get an ending…
The story had a million characters and it was impossible to follow the story! There was a different character in every sentence! Overall love this author but I can’t keep up with a million plots!
600+ pages and we’re ending on a cliff hanger ? Aubry girl I like you but be fr. Additionally while this was suppose to be Am & Yale’s story it had WAY to many moving pieces. And we still didn’t fully get a resolution. All the names and relationships were getting confusing. Girl give us a family tree like nick cannon baby mamas at this point.
But overall the story was entertaining, a bit long winded but I’ll still continue to read her series.
It was overstimulating! So many people to try and piece together. I felt like some of the families could have been eased in instead of going all in at once! It was a lot!
😈🔥Five stars isn’t enough and that’s frankly disrespectful to me. Love, Drama, and Nobody’s Safe was messy in the most diabolical way, and I will be requiring a cocktail, a nap, and maybe therapy to recover. Aubry J. deserves exponentially more credit because this book is actually a personal attack.
The interconnected storylines Illegal. Somebody should’ve stopped her. My brain is STILL buffering twist after twist after twist, no seatbelt, no brakes, just straight emotional whiplash and vibes. The storytelling is criminally good and absolutely refuses to let you breathe.
I am violently unwell over this universe and already stressed about the next installment because baby Corinthians is clearly about to wake up and choose violence as a lifestyle. KRUDEEEEE showed out like rent was due, but let’s be clear—XOEY is THAT girl. Forever favorite. The blueprint. Argue with the wall.
The backstory is not optional; it’s mandatory emotional damage. Especially Amethyst, who was told to slow down and instead said “watch this” while throwing logic, reason, and self-preservation directly into traffic for Yale. I wanted to crawl into the book and shake him until common sense activated.
Passion Unhinged. Love Toxic but cute. Murder Just enough to keep the heart rate up. And the older generation’s secrets. EVIL. NASTY. FOUL. Every reveal had me gasping, yelling, and questioning my ability to read peacefully.
This book stole my peace, my sanity, and my will to be productive. No survivors. No notes. A chaotic, emotionally violent masterpiece—and yes, I will be seated for the next one. Front row. No hesitation.
I really thought Lavender was going to have a happy ensding...didnt expect that twist at all.
I always thought the way their parents were taken out sound weird
I lobe a good mystery, but when lack of communication is yhe source, i be stressed. Yelling at the characters, pleading with them to say someyhing, reveal all the secrets at once and stop beating aorund the bush. However, my way would shorten the story....lol
Amethyst and Yale met in college and became beat friends. They both were manipuated into agreememts that were not a benefit to them.
Years later after wasted time, they begin to learn that they are pawns in a game. A game that is bigger than them and goes back generations.
At first Amethyst believe that he can watch his bestfirend be qith somone else. After heearned some things, he decides that he can't and started making moves for the woman that he wants. However, he also learns of the plot against and is making decsions that he thinks will kewp her safe.
Yale married somone to protect her beatfriend. Her husband is never there and she spends much of her time with her bestfriend. She is not in agreement with how he tries to protect her.
Great addition to the series. It kept me on the edge of my seat. However, these familes are so big and all the names be mentioned.....take notes
I need a 🚬 and a 🍹 after all that! Seriously though, you gotta put some respect on her name. Author Aubry J truly left it all on the table with this one.
I'm still processing everything that happened, my mind is totally blown. The way she crafts these stories is just next-level amazing. She really knows how to pull you in and not let go.
It's definitely a must-read if you haven't already entered this crazy world she's created! My heart is still racing from the intensity. Wow, just wow.
If ever there were a poster couple, for miscommunication, it would be Amethyst and Yale. Lord have, mercy!
There was so much uncovered in this book. Have your notepads ready.
And just as we were chantin, "give us Xoey's book", Corinthians showed up, showed out and showed us why her book should be next.
I will however say, there was some character development on Gift. Seem he is not the quiet guy we thought he was making him the perfect match and balance for Xoey +12.
She did have my head spinning a bit, trying to keep up with all these additional characters and names.
Look forward to the next installment cuz I got questions
I don't even think this book would ever get the proper review or recognition because everyone's view will be different. For it to be 650 pages, my interst could not tell. I was wired from the beginning to now because I finished last night.
Everything we thought we knew or assumed was a lie. The pages were filled with smokes and mirrors and I was like Amethyst after a while, I wanted the truth. All the elders playing in people face. Mecca, oh, your words pissed me off too. I am still looking at you sideways. Yale and Amethyst ya'll communication skills need a LOT of work. Hard headed selves. Pops should have knocked both of you up side the head. Then again, those secrets.
Now on to the good stuff. I am disappointed in everything that was revealed. Krude... sir I need you to crash out. Corinthians, welcome. Psalm, bravo. The two of you are me ultimate spirit animals. Amethyst, sir, your knife work and mind is a dangerous thing. I got hot and bothered reading each step. Twisted I know but on so satisfying. I was with Xoey 12 on that one.
Aubry ! I was so close to starting a new habit that involved tobacco child this book gave the right warnings lol because I was stressed ! Amethyst and Yale I could put over my knee for how foolish and childish they both acted !! If anybody is new to the band I’m sorry but this universe will confuse if you don’t understand ALL the moving parts .
Yeah , they are standalones but everyone is connected so you gotta read them all in order to truly get it and lock in properly ! Robert is a sick son of a heathen !! I need Uri 100%. Psalms I feel like I’m drawing a blank who’s her person ?? I hate Citrine is alone because he keeps running into snakes .
Xavier is alive and keeps being attached to snake after snake . Idk her disposition but I’m not feeling it 😑. I need to know Clarke, Berkeley and Spelman’s story more in depth .. I feel like those will possibly unfold… the universe my girl created too big to not divulge the Forrester sisters . Overall 20/10! Loved it down and I definitely recommend it
I’m so torn! I just finished a full-catalog marathon, so I knew the history, but the sheer volume of rather new characters here was overwhelming. I was trying to remember if they ever were introduced in other books. Amethyst and Yale’s romance sort of felt like an afterthought to the "secrets" and the cameos from other families while simultaneously focusing on them since they were a big part of the secrets. We spent 650 pages with them, yet we didn't get to see the "big" moments like the birth or a proposal. Ending the book in Josh’s office with Corinthian and the rest of the DeCortes felt like a strange choice for a story that was supposed to be about Amethyst and Yale. I’m glad we got some answers, but I wanted more finality for the actual leads.
This book is so good, there aren't enough stars in the sky to rate it.
Yale and Amethyst have been friends since college and now they're finally lovers. A setup, a lack of communication between them, and old rivalries make for a wild ride for all the families involved. There's a lot happening, but the story still flows perfectly. I love all the characters in this book, both the main ones and the supporting ones. It's like all the superheroes coming together. Trust me, you don't want that from this group of people. This was a fantastic read. Props to the author. Once you hop on the Aubrey J train, just sit back and enjoy the ride. It's always a pleasure reading your books. 🥰
These characters will absolutely stress you out, but trust me, every minute is worth it. I cried, laughed, swooned, and blushed. I genuinely felt every single emotion while reading this book.
I loved it so much that I’m already counting down for the next books to come. So many secrets were revealed, and the twists and turns had me hooked the entire time. Aubry has created such a huge universe, and I really loved how she brought back characters from her previous books. She reintroduced them in a way that felt seamless and easy to follow, even if this is your first time meeting them. Highly recommend!!!
It was touch-and-go for a moment, but the story ultimately came together beautifully. Puzzle pieces began falling into place, and the connections finally made sense. As always, Krude did what Krude does best delivering laughs in a way only he can. There were moments when Amethyst truly tested my patience (to the point where I almost wanted to throw my phone), because he did the absolute most. Still, by the end, it feels like he finally learned his lesson.
The two storylines I’m most excited to see unfold are Zoey’s and Corinthians’. Something tells me this is going to be a very wild ride.
The interconnected storyline are my favorite. Despite being besties, Amethyst and Yale never communicated the one important thing that existed between them both. This left them open to so many issues. I didnt expect this book to have so many plot twists but whew it was a wild ride. The series will have to reading with a white board to map out all the connections. The sins of the ones before them are coming back harder and they were aware of just how long the plan had been in motion. Amethyst and Yale are in a better plan but the true nature of many have been unleashed as the battle continues.
There is a reason that the author put the authors note in the beginning of the book. I’m glad I read it because with out it I would have been madder at Amethyst than I still am. I’ve never read a “miscommunication trope “ but this one here took me through it. Through all the mess ups that Am did, I know his true reasoning for it all was because he loved Yale. But sooooo much would have been avoided if he had done right in the beginning.
I love this universe and can’t wait for the next book because baby Corinthians is about to be a darn problem. I’m also looking forward to Gift and Plus 12 because my girl deserves love.
This book, this book ,this book , I loveeeee these people first the warning in the beginning of the book so accurate you kinda of want to slap Amethyst but; his imperfection make you love him and not be that mad. Why oh why oops sneaking in the fam and hurting people but the tree is never cut down they stand strong and punish how they need to. I love the way Aubry writes cause she gives you want you need all the time and yes you will laugh so hard with this entire group. Miss ma'am I need Cintrine,Xoey , Corinthians ect stories I don't know how you going to bring them out but please I need the next book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Okay so many secrets will be revealed and some will still be hidden. The flow of the story in the beginning was really good pace and then towards the middle/end it started to get a little choppy for certain chapters. The essence of the books is really great and really keeps the readers attention.
Please note there are so many different plots going on outside of the main two characters of this book. The story for the FMC and MMC didn’t all the way leave off as a HEA, but more so a happy for now. Finally the spice in this story is really good and the MMC be talking her through it 🤪
When I tell you this book had me STRESSED... and it wasn't like Aubry didn't warn us... but still. Amethyst is the epitome of hard headed and stubborn and now... we just gotta wait to see what kinda mess he done stirred up making that deal! But?!!!! Now that I think of it... was on him? Because it seems as if everything was in motion years in the making.. him and Yale just fell into a plot hole? Is it really all about Corinthians?
Anyways. I know this isnt a "review" , just me immediately writing what I'm thinking as I finished this book.
Review: its good. Read it and be stressed with the rest of us. 🤣🤣
Even though this book was good AF… it took me wayyy too long to finish!! 😩 I don’t know why, but at this point..it is what it is..🤨🤷🏽♀️
I LOVE how all the books in this series overlap, and baby… the action was TOP TIER!! 🔥 Just when I started getting annoyed with certain characters, they went ahead and redeemed themselves like they knew I was side-eyeing them the whole time. 🤨😏
Now let’s talk about what’s REALLY got me irritated… why would you end the book with “see you next book” and the next book ain’t even AVAILABLE?! 🤯 Like ma’am… you know I’m a fiend!!! Why are we playing like this?? 😭
So while I’m over here impatiently waiting, I guess I’ll just go ahead and start from the top of Ms. Aubry J’s catalog and PRAY the next book drops before I catch up! 🙄📚😩
9/10 ⭐ Only because you got me out here waiting like this 😒🤭
“Don’t tell me ‘to be continued’ if you ain’t got nothing to continue with!!” 😩
This story had me stressed in the best way. Amethyst and Yale were doing damage emotionally, mentally, spiritually all of it. The love was deep, the secrets were messy, and the sacrifices? Whew. Every time I thought I knew where it was going, another layer dropped. It got heavy and chaotic at times, but the payoff was worth it. Their story ended how it needed to… and now I’m like 👀 so who were spinning the block with next ?..
