Living in emotional truth is to the Soul what water is to the body . . . life. The Pool–Diving In The Deep End is a culmination of years of clinical work by J.D. Cole, MA, MSFT. The men and women who dive into the deep end represent a collective group of clients to whom J.D. has offered space on their healing journey. Those in the Pool, along with Dr. James David Hook, discover the Neverland Motel isn’t the end of the road but the beginning of discovery that denial is not a refuge but prolonged emotional chaos. In the words of Miyamoto Musashi, “A Warrior isn’t without fear but steps through it empty-handed.” So are those who embark on the path toward change. They aren’t without apprehension yet refuse to live a life of emotional limitation. They are warriors of the Pool. J. D. Cole served in the US Naval Seabees for twelve years and spent two tours in Vietnam. He has published two novels, Shadow Guard, 2017, and An Enemy Crossing, 2020. J.D. has a master’s degree in Hospital Administration and a Master of Science in Family Therapy. The Pool Diving in The Deep End collectively represents J.D.’s passion for working with people. During his fifty years of clinical work, J.D. also taught at the baccalaureate and graduate level. In addition to his work as a novelist, he has written therapeutic workbooks that support clinicians in their work with individuals and families.
