Rate this book
We didn’t mean to lose fibre – but between industrial food processing and convenience culture, it quietly disappeared from our plates . . . and our bodies have noticed.

Drawing on the latest science and nearly three decades of experience as a nutrition scientist and TV personality, Dr Joanna McMillan brings fibre back into focus – not as a dull dietary box to tick, but as one of the most deliciously powerful tools for health and longevity.

You’ll
- how fibre fuels your gut microbiome, and supports digestion, mental health, immunity, inflammation and detox pathways
- why fibre is vital for heart health, weight balance and blood sugar control
- your dream team of foods, meal ideas and flavour-packed recipes to make eating fibre easy and inviting
- the tools to design your own fibre-rich way of eating that suits your lifestyle
- why fibre diversity – not just quantity – is essential.

Whether you’re an omnivore, a plant lover or somewhere in between, The Fibre Factor will inspire you to rethink your diet and rediscover the missing nutrient your body – and mind – have been craving.

The Fibre Factor by Joanna McMillan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Both read the physical copy and listened to the audiobook

If you are interested in living and eating to live your best life, this book isn't just an informative read about getting a healthy gut,but improving overall well-being.

The way the information is delivered in this book is both scientific, educational, engaging and practical. There is no point reading a health book if its not able to be implemented into busy lives and this book delivers.

I highly recommend this book for anyone with inflammatory illnesses, gut illness, fatigue, weight issues and for those wanting to improve wellbeing and be educated about food choices.

Well shit. Pun intended.

You might think, 'why am I reading a book about fibre'? And I say 'why not'? Fibre is the most important thing you can do for your body and this author goes through all of that in this book.

It effects so much more than we think which she takes us through. She also goes through the various fibres and their benefits.

I was happy to hear that she highly recommends cold potatoes and cold pasta. Wooo my salads are going to get so much better.

Also, Metamucil is mentioned lots of times so I am on the right track with that as a 40-something woman. Plus Australia leads the world in the rate of early-onset bowel cancer which is very alarming.

Now I am armed with a great grocery list and more information to make my way to better health.

This was always going to be a great book by a sensible, practical dietitian. It does go into alot of detail but includes lots of practical advice also
