The Don's Siren: A Mafia Forced Marriage Romance

Rate this book
A traitor’s daughter forced to be his replacement bride

The unwanted outcast of the Italian Trio, I’m leaving their betrothals and bloody sheets behind to be a singer… until I become the wrong man’s obsession.

Carlo Vicini, the future Don of New York, is engaged to my cousin when he hears my song and determines I will be his. He’s deviously charming and brutally sexy but a cold-hearted manipulator underneath. After I help my cousin run away, he puts his ring on my finger.

We’re like cats and dogs outside the bedroom and kerosene and matches in it. He’ll threaten, maim and kill to keep me and keep me safe. But an old hatred brings new dangers and one of us may pay the ultimate price.

Can I find a way to outmaneuver this mafia prince and break free? Or will I fall under his spell?

(This is a dual-POV, forced marriage mafia romance with spice and some dark elements. Part of an interconnected series involving three crime families where each couple will find their HEA.)

Safety note - virgin FMC. MMC not celibate after the first and even the second time meeting the FMC.

“Sofia wandered away from her room last night as the Seconda Notte was carrying on and spied her fiancé by the pool. Two prostitutes were busy servicing him right there where anyone could see."

“Though perhaps I am bewitched. From the moment I saw you again and heard you sing, all my thoughts have been bent on having you.”
“Then how come the following night you had a couple of pros sucking your-”
“I didn’t want them, goddammit,” he growls. “I wanted you."

“I knew I couldn’t have you. That I could never have you while being engaged to your cousin, but I thought if Sofia found out about the other women…"
"You wanted her to catch you?!"
"I would've preferred it if she'd simply heard of it instead." I slap him hard across the mouth. He doesn't even flinch. "Why does it turn me on when you do that?" he husks.
"You're insane."

“I don’t want to know you better,” I snap. “You’re a cheating asshole, and I hate you.”
“There’s not been any women since the Seconda. Fuck, I doubt I could even get hard with anyone else at this point. There will never be another woman again, Francesca. Only you.”

I honestly feel like there was so much going on in this book and at times it was a bit much for me. I do recommend reading the first book before this one, but it’s also not necessary.

Carlo (24) wants her down bad and once he finds a way to have her, he strikes. I just wish he would’ve been celibate before coming to that realization. If you’ve read the previous book then you know that he comes off as a playboy/manwhore. Anywho, this man is unhinged and obsessed with her and will do anything to keep her. I loved how Frankie (18) held her own in the beginning, but I feel like as the story progressed and Carlo did some questionable things, she gave forgave him so easily and it always led to them having sex and I just wish she would’ve made him work for it more. This one left me feeling a tiny bit disappointed.

Side note: I really hope Ronan gets his own story.

Thank to Eileen North for this ARC. I received this ARC for free and all thoughts are my own.

I was so excited to read this story knowing it was Francesca's. The girl who has been shamed, disregarded as nothing, cursed apon with abuse. The young girl who has been dealt a terrible fate due to her father's betrayal.

The betrayal as being known as a 'rat' in the mafia world.

Francesca has come to the understanding she will never amount to anything in the eyes of her world around her.

Until Carlo, the promised next heir to be capo. Taking on his father's role in the underworld.

Carlo see's something in Francesca ever since she was a younger girl. That fiery nature and that red hair of hers, he can't forget her presence.

I absolutely loved their story. It was so nice to see Francesca have an ending that she deserves. To see this man, his brutality and reputation, fall for her beautiful spirit.

This series has been fantastic so far, and I'm so glad I started from the first book first, as all these characters are interconnected. It's the perfect backstory for the next book in the series, book three 'The Bodyguard's Angel'

I can't wait for more!!

This book had me in a CHOKEHOLD 😩🔥 If you love dark mafia romance with tension you can feel, this one delivers.

Francesca is THAT girl — strong, sharp, and refuses to be broken, even when she’s forced into a marriage with Carlo Vicini, a dangerously obsessed mafia heir. And Carlo?? Walking red flag 🚩 but make it irresistible.

The chemistry??? UNREAL. The tension??? OFF THE CHARTS. Every scene felt like a battle of wills with a whole lot of heat mixed in.

💔 Tropes you’ll love:
• Forced marriage
• Enemies to lovers
• He falls first (and HARD)
• Obsessive / possessive MMC
• Strong, defiant FMC
• Mafia / crime family drama
• Touch her and 💀 energy

What I loved most was how emotionally intense it felt — it’s not just romance, it’s power, control, vulnerability, and growth all tangled together.
The only reason it’s not a full 5⭐️ is because some moments felt a little rushed and Carlo is… A LOT (like… morally gray to the extreme). But honestly? That’s part of the appeal if you’re into dark romance.

📖 Final thoughts: Addictive, dramatic, and seriously hard to put down. If you like your romance dark, messy, and full of tension — this is definitely a book you want to add to your TBR

Power, obsession and loyalty roar through this tale with force and I couldn’t have loved it more. Book 2 of the series follows more of the families and the mafia warfare of life and love. It’s gritty, emotional and spicy in the best way. Carlo knows what and who he wants and will stop at nothing to get exactly that. Frankie is young, daring and feisty yet her loyalty sang greater than any song she could perform! I enjoyed the banter but my heart skipped beats for their love ❤️‍🔥

It is not often that book two outshines book one, but The Don’s Siren absolutely did that 😮‍💨🖤 This second installment in the Vows Sworn in Blood series was fast-paced, addictive, and packed with banter, tension, and obsession that had me glued to the page.

Francesca (better known as the rat’s daughter) has spent her life living under the shadow of her father’s betrayal. Protected, judged, whispered about, and never truly free, she dreams of escaping it all through her music 🎶✨ Carlo, on the other hand, is the future Don: powerful, dangerous, ruthless, and fully prepared to destroy her father and make an example of her brother. He’s supposed to marry Francesca’s cousin… until everything goes spectacularly wrong 😈

When the cousin runs, thanks in part to Francesca and her sister-in-law, Carlo does the unthinkable and chooses Francesca instead. And from that moment on? He is obsessed 🖤 Francesca wants nothing to do with him, hates what he’s done, and resents the position he’s forced her into, but Carlo does not take no for an answer. Ever.

What follows is a forced marriage that crackles with tension, undeniable chemistry, and a heroine who might be the only person capable of bringing a future Don to his knees 🔥 Francesca is feisty, loyal, and sharp-tongued, with inner monologues that had me laughing out loud, especially her thoughts on mafia men and their very loose relationship with monogamy 💀 Carlo is everything you want in a mafia MMC: over-the-top possessive, jealous, morally black, and very much “touch her and die” energy. And yet, when it comes to Francesca, he is utterly undone 😮‍💨

The writing is smooth and addictive, the pacing relentless, and the chemistry between these two is intense, emotional, and scorching 🌶🔥 I also loved the deeper look into the family dynamics and Francesca’s bond with Carlo’s sisters, it added so much heart to the story 🖤

This book runs alongside the timeline of book one, and while it can be read as a standalone, reading the first book absolutely enhances the experience. By the final page, I was fully invested and already desperate for what comes next, especially Gia and Armando’s story 👀✨

Eileen North truly came in swinging with this one, and I am officially obsessed 🖤🔥

I just finished The Don’s Siren by Eileen North and it’s an EASY 5 stars.
I went into this already obsessed with mafia romances, especially arranged marriage + “he’s been obsessed with her since the first moment he saw her” and wow… this might actually be my favorite take on that trope.

I had previously reviewed The Reaper’s Bride and I’m pretty sure I said “I want an Alessio of my own”… but I think I changed my mind, even if I thought that was impossible.
Carlo completely took my breath away. I wish I was Frankie because let’s be honest, I could have a Carlo, but he would never treat anyone else with the same care he treats Frankie…

What I loved the most is how, even though he had various reasons to distrust his wife, he didn’t take them. For him, she was (almost) always innocent. That level of trust and devotion made everything hit so much harder emotionally.

And the dynamics??? PERFECT.
Only she can talk back to him without consequences.
He’s powerful, dangerous… but soft for her in a way that feels so earned.

Also his possessiveness??? INSANE (in the best way possible).
This man was already having murderous thoughts over her before she was even his fiancée.

⚠️ Some spoilers ahead ⚠️
Some moments just live rent-free in my head:
— the nun costume scene??? absolutely amazing
— the “she sleeps better with him next to her” trope (I will NEVER get over this)
— and when he asked, “are you so miserable being married to me”… my heart actually broke for him

And this line: “I know I would choose him, again and again, over any other man” - yeah girl… same.

This book has everything I want: obsession, devotion, tension, and that softness hidden under power.
If you love mafia romance, this one is genuinely unmissable!!!!

This book drew me in with its premise of obsession, power, and forced loyalty, and it delivered a dark, emotionally charged mafia romance.
The heroine’s story as a traitor’s daughter and an unwanted outcast immediately made her compelling. Her desire to escape the violent world she was born into and follow her dream of becoming a singer added a vulnerable, human layer to the story. Watching her become the object of Carlo Vicini’s obsession — not by choice, but by circumstance — created constant tension and unease in the best possible way.
Carlo is dangerous, magnetic, and deeply manipulative. As the future Don of New York, he embodies control and menace, yet his charm makes him impossible to ignore. His relationship with the heroine is explosive: volatile outside the bedroom and intensely passionate inside it. Their dynamic is built on power struggles, defiance, and undeniable attraction, making every interaction feel charged and unpredictable.
What stood out most to me was the balance between romance and darkness. The story doesn’t shy away from violence, threats, or the consequences of old vendettas, and that raises the emotional stakes significantly. The question of whether love can exist in such a controlling, dangerous environment lingers throughout the book and kept me turning the pages.
This is a spicy, dark mafia romance with morally gray characters, forced marriage, and high emotional tension. Fans of interconnected crime family stories and intense enemies-to-lovers dynamics will definitely enjoy it.
Thank you so much to the author for providing me with a free copy of this book. I truly appreciate the opportunity to read and review this story.

This mafia forced marriage romance revolves around Francesca a mafia princess who's basically treated like trash because her father was a traitor and Carlo the playboy and future New York Don. I found their story really entertaining. It has a slow beginning but I enjoyed getting to know a little glimpse into their past. Things got interesting fast after the first few chapters and once the MCs started their verbal sparring they had me laughing out loud i was hooked. I really enjoyed their enemies-to-lovers dynamic and his down bad obsession with Frankie. I couldn't get enough.

I loved Frankie from the start her inner monologue and the things she would say were hilarious. She is no meek little princess and her backbone for someone so young was admirable.

Carlo had to grow on me, he was an absolute pig at the beginning but the way he was with Frankie soon had me swooning and melting.

This was the first book I've read by Eileen North and I really enjoyed her writing style, it was fun and easy to read, holding my attention with a great plot and wonderful characters. The dialogue between the characters was entertaining, the spice was delicious, and the love story was everything.

This one is Carlo & Frankie's book. I was looking forward to this one and unfortunately it missed the mark. The flow of the arc was rough at times and hard to follow in others. It starts out in the past before Frankie's father betrays the Trio which was discussed in book one. Then it moves on the repeating briefly what happened in Cat and Alessio's book. Then on to Carlo and Frankie's marriage. Frankie is tough, no nonsense, speak her mind woman. She's still wary from her father's reactions during her childhood. Carlo seems to be a tough boss who has feelings for his wife. Yet they continue to allow people to talk about her, treat her with disdain, claim she's leading him around. Even his right-hand man and his next youngest brother are openly bad mouthing her. For a strong woman, she meekly accepts it. Carlo acts as if he's mad about it but for a strong leader, he doesn't really address the situation. The storyline tends to jump strangely to where the reader isn't really sure. They are fighting, then suddenly making up, she shields him, then is being held separately then everything is ok. It just seemed to be missing tidbits that would make it flow better and make more sense. The ending seemed a bit confusing in that they mentioned four weddings with only one couple still married yet there should be two. The Don’s Siren by Eileen North is the second book in the Vows Sworn in Blood series and follows the story of Francesca and Carlo Vicini.

After her father betrays the Trio to save himself, Francesca and her mother are cast out and forced to live as pariahs. Years later, Francesca catches the attention of Carlo Vicini. Although he is supposed to marry her cousin Sophia, Carlo chooses Francesca instead, binding her to him in a forced marriage meant to keep her safe.

Carlo wants her. Francesca hates him.

All Francesca wants is to reunite with her family and escape the life she never chose, but Carlo has no intention of letting her go. When the moment finally comes, will she run… or stay?

This mafia romance delivers on beloved tropes such as forced/arranged marriage, he falls first, and touch her and die. It blends danger, passion, and love with plenty of fun, banter-filled moments. While there are scenes involving mafia dealings, the focus remains firmly on the characters and their evolving relationship.

The plot is engaging and easy to follow, and the characters are genuinely likable. Francesca, or Frankie, is a sunshine character most of the time, while Carlo is fiercely protective and surprisingly tender toward his girls. One of my favorite moments was when the women came together and Frankie sang. It was warm, emotional, and unforgettable.

If you enjoy mafia romance with heart, chemistry, and strong characters, this book is definitely worth picking up.

This is book 2 of the Vows Sworn in Blood series and although it can be read as a standalone, reading book 1 will definitely give you a better idea of some of the history of the characters. This book is also taking place in the same timeline as book 1 so contains interwoven plotlines.

Frankie and Carlo were introduced in the first book this series but this book is their story.
Frankie is outspoken, loyal, kind and often very funny. She has some very funny inner dialogues and one of my favourites is her opinion of Mafia men and their idea of monogamy.

Carlo is the heir apparent as the Don of the New York Mafia Family. He is big, gorgeous, dangerously charming… and dangerous, full stop. I am still relatively new to this genre and I still struggle with the idea of a morally black MMC having a heart capable of love. Yet, he does when it comes to Frankie which is almost his undoing.

The story is fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat. The chemistry between Frankie and Carlo is undeniable and the spice is definitely at the top end of the chili pepper scale. There are still some unanswered questions about characters introduced in book 1, so stay tuned for more action and spice in the next book in the series!

The Don’s Siren by Eileen North is the second book in the series, and it absolutely did not disappoint. A great book to finish off 2025 with.

The writing is smooth, addictive, and pulls you in from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down once I started.

I loved the main characters, Frankie and Carlo. Frankie is strong, sassy, and knows exactly what she wants, yet she’s treated like an outcast because of the sins of her father. Carlo, the Don-in-waiting, is everything you want in a mafia romance hero—over-the-top possessive, jealous, swoon-worthy, and very much “touch her and die” energy. Be still my heart. He is absolutely lush.

Their chemistry is fantastic, and their dynamic had me smiling and feeling all warm and fuzzy. I genuinely loved watching their relationship develop.

The family element added so much depth to the story, especially Frankie’s bond with Carlo’s little sisters—it was lovely, touching, and beautifully done.

Overall, this was a fantastic read, and I cannot wait for Gia and Armando’s story next.

Thank you for the ARC. 💖

I loved this steamy mafia romance, which is no surprise to me because the first book of the series was so damn good. Carlo, an enforcer and the future Don Of New York, and Frankie, the daughter of a "rat", both appeared in that book, where we got a hint of what was to come in book two. I was not disappointed!

The author has done an amazing job of storytelling, capturing my complete attention and my heart. I feel like I got to know these characters really well. Carlo and Frankie are pure fire in every scene they have together. Carlo is my favorite kind of MMC - dominant and possessive and hard to everyone but her. He so obviously adores her that it melts my heart. I just love that he would burn down the world for her. Frankie is a sweet mix of worldly and innocent but with great inner strength. This spicy story has plenty of heat, drama and action, and was so engrossing that I couldn't put it down. If you enjoy this genre, I highly recommend both books in this series.

4 Stars! Pretty good book. This is the second book in the ‘Vows Sworn in Blood’ series and can be read as a standalone, though some parts may be better explained if you read book one first. The main characters are Francesca & Carlos. Both were likable & I wanted them to work out. This is a dark mafia romance so it’s not all love and rainbows. I’ve read worse but just beware there is murder in this book. But sometimes, even semi bad guys deserve love. Worth the read if you don’t mind dark romance. A couple sexy times scenes, some things were easy to see coming but it’s still an enjoyable read. I do wish some parts were explained a bit more but I think that was all explained in book one so reading that first would probably make this book even better. All in all, a pretty decent, interesting read.

Francesca is a ball of fire, you can't help but love. She also has an innocent and well meaning way of creating chaos, as Carlo's car learnt it quite a funny scene. I read the first in the series of vows of blood, and was eager for more- Eileen North did not let me down.

I really enjoyed learning Francesca and Carlo's previous interactions, as well as how Carlo had manipulated and then went on to handle certain situations. The book is well written, and well plotted with what feels like little details well thought out. There is steam, action and humour all balanced well. We also get to see favourite characters from the previous book, as well new characters like Luca, Aurora and Faro to enjoy. I also loved the hints the reader is given towards future books and possible couplings. I cannot wait to read the next one.

The Don’s Siren by Eileen North

Vows Sworn in Blood #2

This mafia romance was intense in the best way. Carlo is set to marry a rival family’s daughter to keep the peace, but from the moment he lays eyes on Francesca, her cousin, she becomes his obsession. The problem? She’s the daughter of a traitor who betrayed the families, making her completely off-limits.

When Francesca is tricked into becoming Carlo’s actual bride, what starts as a deal with the devil quickly turns into something far more dangerous when obsession becomes mutual. The tension, power dynamics, and possessive energy kept me hooked the entire time. I gave this one 4 stars with 🌶️🌶️🌶️ spice, and it definitely raised the stakes for the series.

Tropes:

• Mafia Romance

• Arranged Marriage

• Possessive MMC

• He Tracks Her

• The Traitor’s Daughter

• Touch Her and ☠️

This is the second book of the series. While its a standalone its highly suggested go read the first book not only because it refers to it at some parts but because its so freaking good.

Carlo has wanted Frankie since the first time hes seen her singing. And after his arranged marriage falls and his soon ti be wife disappears, he finally can arrange the marriage he wants.

Frankie just wants to get out of the mafia life but after helping Sophia disappear, she becomes stuck in a marriage proposal she has never wanted.

This couple, though not as good as Cat and Alessio (my personal opinion), is a possessive, sassy, spicy, fun filled couple that would end up doing so much for each other even if one craves and the other despises. Eileen North has quickly become one of my favorite mafia romance authors AND I absolutely cannot wait for Gias story.

Forced Vows, Dangerous Desire

OMG besties… I am really enjoying this series, and "The Don’s Siren" just sealed it. Francesca is the traitor’s daughter turned replacement bride, and the way she’s forced into Carlo Vicini’s world? Whew. Tense. Twisted. Deliciously dark. Carlo is deviously charming, brutally sexy, and morally grey in that “I’ll burn the world to keep you safe” way. Their dynamic is pure chaos... cats and dogs outside the bedroom, kerosene and matches inside it... and I love it! The forced marriage, poss€ssiv€ obs€ssion, tracking devices, and spoiling just cranks all of the suspense sky-high, while the dual POV keeps the tension ohhhh so good! This book is dark, spicy, and absolutely TBR-worthy, Besties. 😉

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!!

Carlo is an unusual Don: he’s patient, thoughtful, and kind with his family. However, he’s also very capable of protecting his people, using violence to make a point, and following traditions. Frankie is a firecracker, she’s talented and beautiful, but her father is a traitor so her reputation is tarnished. I love the chemistry between them, she pushes him and entices him, he’s enamored of her, but he’s also wary of her. There’s drama, cruelty, betrayal, and jealousy surrounding them and it just makes their relationship more interesting and complicated!! I loved her sweetness and ability to speak up and his willingness to give her the benefit of the doubt and see her honesty. A great story of love, honor, loyalty with lots of spice!!!

This mafia forced-marriage romance follows Francesca, a mafia princess treated like trash because of her father’s betrayal, and Carlo, the playboy and future Don of New York. It starts a little slow, but once their banter kicks in, I was hooked. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic and Carlo’s completely down-bad obsession with Frankie had me laughing and swooning.

Frankie was my favorite from the start—funny, bold, and definitely not a meek princess. Carlo took a bit to grow on me, but the way he softens for her was everything.

This was my first book by Eileen North and I really enjoyed her fun, easy writing style. Great banter, great spice, and a love story I couldn’t put down. Book two in the Vows Sworn in Blood series, but I still enjoyed it as a standalone.

3.5 ⭐️

3 🌶️

This book was a good mafia romance with a very sassy and stubborn fmc and a possessive mmc. The only thing that made it so my review is lower is that I got very very confused on the family tree. I wish there was a visual because I kept mixing up the family members and had to re read a bit. But the tension between the main characters made up for that. This book has some darker themes so I would read the tigger warnings and be careful if you are triggered easily. Over all enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who wants a mafia romance with arranged marriage and a very sassy mmc that will have you laughing. Carlo is to be the new don, he has been thought to be calculating, and emotionless but he couldn’t help be captivated by his fiancé’s cousin, Francesca.
Frankie is the daughter of a rat, a traitor who gave everyone up including her, her brother and mother. She was shunned but she kept her head held high, but also stayed away from conflict until she tried helping her cousin get out of a unwanted marriage which led her to lose everything she thought she’d have in a few months, her freedom.
She thought she had it all figured out, she’d get out of her own unwanted marriage she’ll have the freedom and the normal life she dreams of, or that’s what she thinks, Carlo will set his trap and never let her go.

Frankie is such a sweet and innocent girl, I fell in love with her right away. Life has been hard for her but she never loses that shine in her as much as it tried to steal it away it stays and she shines bright ✨

This is book 2 in the series. The characters appeared in the first book, and we already know them: Carlo and Frankie. He is the future Don of New York, and she is the daughter of a traitor, rejected by everyone. She wants to escape from the violent world that has punished her. The chemistry between the protagonists is unmatched. Carlo is dominant and totally obsessed with her; he will do anything to have her. Frankie is loyal to her loved ones, funny, and kind. The banter and jokes between them are exquisite. I loved the story, although I recommend reading the first book to understand the plot and the story, as they are connected.
Thanks to BookSirens for providing me with a free copy, about which I am voluntarily writing my honest opinion.

This is book two in the series and whew—things are *heating up*. If book three doesn’t absolutely bring the house down, I’ll be shocked (and I’m already praying this series goes beyond a trilogy). Frankie and Carlo are pure forbidden temptation: he’s the future Don, she’s the daughter of a rat—about as off-limits as it gets. When Frankie helps her cousin escape an arranged marriage to Carlo, fate (and chaos) swerves hard… and Carlo marries Frankie instead. The twist? Carlo has had his eye on Frankie for *years*, and now he finally has her right where he wants her. What follows is a nonstop rollercoaster of tension, power plays, loyalty tests, and simmering desire. The angst is real, the stakes are deadly, and I was glued the entire time.

Arc Review

Frankie and Carlo are definitely my favorite!!

Frankie’s father betrayed the trio. She’s seen as the rat of the family. She never wanted to be part of the mafia life. She wasn’t to see her name in lights and live a normal life. Unfortunately that’s not how mafia life works for young girls.

Carlo is to be the future Don of New York. He does not see Frankie as a rat. It wasn’t her fault her father betrayed them. He decides that he will be the one to Marry her. Frankie tries to trick him into not being with her by giving him one night of the exact thing he wants. Well Carlo has other plans!

I enjoyed the book. While the pacing did slow down in the middle, the story did soon pick up again, keeping me engaged until the end. The passion of the main characters, Francesca Donnelly aka Frankie (Irish mafia family) and Carlos Vicini (Italian mafia family) shone through. I would have given more stars if there was a bit more happening in the plot, not that the plot was boring. I would recommend this to any mafia romance fans and will keep my eye out for the next book in the series coming out in March.
