My fathers want me to find my mates, settle down, and learn how to control my inner dragon. I want the freedom to decide my future. What I got was an unexpected journey to 1742 Scotland and two full-blooded Highlander dragon shifters who think I belong to them.
When I stumbled through ancient standing stones, I thought I was escaping yet another lecture from my father, Niall. Instead, I crashed into the middle of a bloody battle and straight into the arms of two males who aren’t supposed to exist.
Tavish is seven feet of possessive, fire-breathing Highlander. Albie is a bookish warrior with gentle eyes and dangerous curiosity. They refuse to let me go, but I refuse to get stuck in the past.
But the stones aren’t finished with us. Every jump through time forces impossible choices, and I’m beginning to suspect my appearance in the past might not be an accident. My family’s fate is tangled in threads I can’t begin to unravel, and something dark and ancient is one jump behind us.
Meanwhile, my grasp on my inner dragon is as precarious as ever, and the entire future of the dragon species might hang on my ability to solve the curse that has plagued my people for a thousand years.
I have to get home. But the deeper into time I venture, the more I realize that going home might mean choosing between the mates fate gave me and the future my people desperately need. And I’m starting to fear I can’t have both.

A beautiful ending to The Dragon Lairds series. The plot, the chemistry between the three and the spice were more than perfect. 🤩🥰🥵🥵🥵 I'm going to miss the sexy dragon shifters.
I loved that these books are short but so intense.
I’m embarrassed to say that I did not read the first five in this series. But with that being said, I truly enjoyed this book. The world building was so beautifully written. And the depth of the characters was amazing. I loved Portia and the strong woman that she was. And Tavish and Albie were wonderful and very handsome. I fell in love with book enough that I plan to go back and start from the beginning so I can get the full understanding of what has taken place in book six. I grabbed this one in booksprout, it was the only one available in the series but sounded awesome. So I had to give it a try. So glad I did.
Kiss a Dragon Princess is book six in The Dragon Lairds series. This time travel MMF romance is Hot! This adventure had so many twists and turns. Great series.

This is the last book in "The Dragon Lairds Series" ☺️ Whiles it wasn't the best in the series, it was a nice little wrap up to finish the series. Though I am disappointed that we won't see a book about Portia's twin brother, Malcolm. I would have loved to have seen who he ended up with and what type of inventions he'd end up creating.
Albie and Tavish's reaction to finding their mate was actually really sweet. They thought that they'd end up perishing with the rest of the male dragons due to the loss of their female population. When Tavish saved Portia and brought her back to their home, they thought that they'd been blessed by the gods.
"Is she...?" His voice barely a whisper. "Aye," I said softly, emotions rising into my throat. Albie dropped his stare to my shirt. The blood was still wet in places, and the linen stuck to my skin. He paled. "Oh gods, she's sick like the others." It took me a second to understand. He thought the blood was the woman's. "It's not hers," I said quickly. Then his words sank in. Sick like the others
"I'll fetch my herbal. There must be something that can help her." He started towards the door, but I caught his wrist. "If books could help our women, they would have already done so." Albie tugged against my grip. "I have to try." His voice rose, edging towards panic. "I have to —" "Easy, darling," I cupped his jaw, I feathered my thumb over his cheekbone. "Go get your book. I'll be right here with her until you return."
"I'm not finding anything." A smile tugged at my lips. I reached across the bed and took his hand. "What you're looking for isn't in that book. It's right here." Albie followed my gaze to the woman. Understanding dawned, and he drew a shaky breath. "She's not sick." He whispered it like he was afraid to say it out loud. "No. She's perfect."
He reached out a trembling hand and stroked the woman's hair from her brow. "She perfect, Tavish." he whispered. "The gods favour us." He looked up at me, tears shinning in his soft brown eyes. "They've spared us." My heart squeezed. I was around the bed in three strides. Albie stepped into my arms even as I reached for him. He rested his cheek on my shoulder, and kissed the top of his head. "Aye, my love," I said, breathing in the scent of parchment that always clung to him. "They have."
I loved Portia and Tavish's relationship in the beginning 😂 Their arguments were hilarious and poor Albie could only watch from the side lines. He was just trying to make sure that Tavish didn't mess up their chances of winning Portia over 😆
"You're in sore need of a firm hand." He lifted one of his. "Good thing mine are so large. Reckon I'll be busy curbing your temper." Her eyes went wide, and rage trembled in her voice as she asked, "Are you threatening to spank me?" "Oh, I don't make threats, woman. I make good on my promises"
"We should discuss our options." Tavish looked at me, then hooked a thumb at Portia. "Aye, the option is putting yon princess in her room and locking the door until she discovers some sense." Portia grabbed her knife from the table and extended it in Tavish's direction. "Do it, and you can kiss your nutsack goodbye, dickface." He frowned. "I understood half of that."
Tavish's devotion to Albie was 🥵😫 They've been together for years and he still acts like a love struck teenager. When ever Albie did something or he was brought up in conversation, Tavish would always get a love struck/proud look on his face. He was INLOVE with that man and he wasn't afraid to show it.
His eyes moved rapidly behind his spectacles as he devoured whatever was on the page. I drew close again, pulled by his mind as well as his body. Because Albie's mind was just as compelling — maybe even a bit more so because I'd never been unable to unravel it. And I knew its intricacies would always evade me, just as I knew I'd never tire of trying to understand it. Him. I'd fallen so hard for him, I sometimes felt like I'd never really gotten the ground under me again. I was forever unsteady around my brilliant, beautiful mate.
Tavish's lips curved into a wicked smile "My Albie is smart. He reads a lot of books." "I know,"
I opened my mouth to argue, then closed it. "Albie said something similar," I said finally. Pride warmed Tavish's gaze. "Aye. My Albie is wise." He leaned in close and brushed the ghost of a kiss over my ear. "After this morning, he's your Albie too."
I did figure out early on that Portia was meant to intervene with time. When she saved the first woman from being burnt at the stake, I had a feeling that Portia was meant to prevent her death. My theory was confirmed when Portia figured out who the woman actually was.
They got a few steps, and Mistress Drexel turned back, her blue eyes finding Portia. "Thank you." Portia just stared, her face drained of colour. The humans vanished into the forest, and silence fell. "That woman was a donum," Albie said, staring after them. "I've never seen a gift manifest in a human." "I have," Portia croaked. She swallowed hard. "I know her name." "What of it?" I asked, something unsettling creeping over me. "Mistress Drexel." Portia wrung her hands. "I know of one other human who can temporarily borrow gift from immortals. Oh gods, I think I just saved Chloe Drexel's ancestor."
For those who don't remember, Chloe Drexel was the FMC in book 1 "Kiss of Smoke". When the book went further on and Portia had a chance to stop Mullo from getting the seventh element, I was literally screaming at the book saying "Don't stop him, it's a big event in the past and it's meant to happen". I get that she wanted to prevent the curse from happening but changing that big of an event would mess up a lot of things. It might of even prevented her parents from ever meeting which would mean that she and her twin brother would never have been born. I was glad but also shocked that she accidentally travelled in time during that moment. She sadly left her mates behind in the past but I knew it had to happen. She would have intervened with Mullo and the next thousand of years would be different, and it might not have been for the better. When she managed to find the time traveler again, he confirmed that everything she'd done was meant to happen and doing any differently would have messed up the timeline.
I thought of every jump. Medieval England, where we'd saved Chloe's ancestor from burning. Bucharest, where we'd killed Ludovic's wife, possibly opening the door for him to take Halina's mother as a thrall. The demon plane, where we'd watched Mullo sail toward the Oracle where he'd gather the elements he needed to create the Curse. "I saw Mullo in Razrothia," I said. "He was on his way to meet Oracle of Asmira. I didn't stop him." "Good," the chronomancer said. "Good?" My voice cracked. "He's going to kill every female dragon for a thousand years!" "He already did." The chronomancer's expression softened, his face almost kind. "You can't change what's already happened, Portia. You can only make sure it happens the way it's supposed to."
"You saved Mistress Drexel from burning, which allowed her to pass her talent for borrowing power onto her descendant. You ensured Halina wasn't smothered in her sleep by a vampire princess jealous of her husband's mistress. You argued with your mates loudly enough to distract the demon authorities on their way to stop Mullo from setting sail. You made sure the Curse happened, and by doing so, you made sure Chloe Drexel was alive to break it a thousand years later."
Unfortunately, the last couple of chapters were very rushed.
I was happy to see that the connection between Georgie, Graeme and Callum had grown since we last saw them (MC’s in Book 4). Graeme’s really hit the jackpot with his second chance mates.
“Where’s Graeme?” Mischief gleamed in Callum’s eyes. “Making dinner. They say ice dragons can’t be trained, but they’re wrong. You just have to find the right leash.” Georgie reached up and covered his mouth with her hand. “Don’t let Graeme hear you say that. You fluster that poor man enough as it is.” Callum’s eyes sparkled as he tugged her hand away. “Witchling, I want him flustered.” Callum winked at her, and his eyes deepened to incubus emerald. “So does he. So do you, actually.”
This story ends with a HEA for this Throuple 🐉 Whiles I'm sad the series has ended, I'm glad that we got a HEA for all the characters involved 🥰

My favorite series but to be honest I'm disappointed. The action and plot id amazing but the female lead id killing the book for me. Ive read to the half way point a I HATE the Female lead. Stupid, immature and useless. So disappointing
Once Upon a Dragon… and Then It Got Complicated Kiss a Dragon Princess (The Dragon Lairds #6) by Amy Pennza is the literary equivalent of saying “I’ll just read one chapter” and then resurfacing hours later, emotionally compromised and demanding answers.
I adore The Dragon Lairds series, and at this point I’ve accepted that Amy Pennza has a gift—no, a talent—for crafting MMF dynamics that are not only deliciously entertaining but emotionally grounded in a way that sneaks up on you. This time, she ups the ante with a dragon princess (yes, really), and somehow makes it feel both fresh and perfectly at home in her universe.
This book is intense, hilarious, action-packed, unapologetically smutty, and—just to keep us humble—deeply emotional. It reads like a “second chapter” to Niall, Cormac, and Isolde’s story, but with a powerful twist: Portia is their daughter, the dragon curse has been broken, and for the first time, every dragon can hope for a happy ending. Can being the operative word here.
Albie and Tavish, Portia’s mates. They are… elusive. Hard to find. Mysterious in a way that makes you keep turning pages at an unholy speed. I won’t spoil the why, where, or when—only know that Amy Pennza knows exactly how to keep her readers hooked, breathless, and emotionally invested.
What makes this book shine is how effortlessly it balances chaos and heart. One moment you’re laughing, the next you’re clutching your chest, and then suddenly—boom—dragons, desire, destiny. It’s a wild ride in the best possible way, and I enjoyed every single word of it.
So, Ms. Pennza, consider this a polite yet desperate question: when is the next adventure coming? Because your universe is dangerously addictive, and I will absolutely need my next fix very soon.
"Dragons: A polyamorous race native to the Scottish Highlands. Of all the Firstborn Races, dragons are the fiercest. True Immortals, they cannot be felled by disease or flame. there is but one surefire way to kill a dragon - by killing one of its mates."
6 books in the series, each book is roughly 200 pages, covering the story of one thruple. Dragons mate in threes, 2 males and 1 female. Due to a curse against the dragons, all of the females died off, taking their mates with them, and the dragons that were left alive were pushed to find mates among the other races.
I like how these were each a story about 1 mate group, but the whole series told a fully story. You could just pick up a book and read it and be good but I thought the full story all told was pretty engaging.
Each book was a good time and over all the story ended well. Huge spoiler, at the end, when it's revealed that the curse isn't actually gone because a part of it is in Ablie's eye, I was a little confused as to why he was looking at his mates and saying he loved them. He then reached into his own eye socket and pulled his eye out. They destroyed the eye with the curse attached, and then our girl healed him and he grew a new eye. It seemed very much like he was saying goodbye, sacrificing himself to save everyone else, and then nothing really happened and he didn't even sacrifice anything because a new eye replaced the old one just minutes later.
So yeah, the ending was anti-climactic in that regard, but over-all it was a good time.

This is the final book in the Dragon Laird Series and it is a fitting end to what has been an exciting and engaging story. In this final segment Pennza manages to tie up all the loose ends of the events that have been the cause of so much strife and distress in the world of Dragons. Portia, the first full blood female dragon born since a curse that saw all female dragons perish is determined and strong, and a little bit reckless. She is plagued with self-doubt as to her worthiness of being a dragon princess. Yet her bravery and loyalty see her through making some very difficult decisions. I know we are not supposed to have favourites, but Tavish and Albie are definitely mine. Tavish is the teasing scoundrel (with the heart of a poet) to Albie’s Scholar and their love for each other is deep and all encompassing. That love immediately extends to surround Portia their fated mate. As always the spicy scenes are raw and explicit but there is never any question about the deep emotional connection and love between the main characters. This is a story full of twists and turns and decisions made (both good and bad), yearning and fulfilment and ultimately a hard won HEA. I received a free advanced review copy from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This story has some fun time traveling in it, with the usual dilemma of - when we go back in time, were we foreordained to do so and so everything we do is supposed to happen (casual loop paradox), or are we about to mess up some small things that will completely change the future we came from (grandfather paradox)?
Their actions in the past come from the MFC’s impulsiveness. She is criticized by her father,
“You dabble in things you don’t understand, Portia.” I squeezed the arms of my chair. “I’m careful—” “You’re reckless,” he said.
And later by one of the MMCs, “Your recklessness is a curse.”
Turns out, that was exactly the way she needed to be for things to turn out correctly in time, so fuck both those guys. I would have liked more groveling apologies and positive acknowledgements from the two male parents. Also, beware this has the trope of young MFC and centuries old love interests.
Loved the story. Portia is the last female dragon in 2048. She is drawn to the standing stones which hum with magic and is drawn into the portal and finds herself being rescued by a Travish. He takes her to his castle and mate Albie. She will wake up and find herself in 1742 with two full dragons who seem to be her mates. I enjoyed the adventures that they encountered trying to get Portia home by time travelling. This book is full of tangled emotions, danger, hot nights and will end with a happy ending.

I will give it to the author. She greatly improved writing wise in comparison to the first book in this series. The POV changes moved well and I felt no hiccups while reading.
I cannot imagine where we’d go from here if there’d ever be another book but the ending was a good resolve and sweet end to it all if that is where we stop.
Rating: 4.6/5 Read Again/Own? Yes and yes Spice Level: less aggressive/as quick to the whip as the others, but this one definitely was still steamy in moments
Points simply taken out cause I still cannot stand reading anyone trying to use spit/saliva as lube. Even if used for a short bit before actual lubrication. That friction would be a NIGHTMARE.
'My fathers want me to find my mates, settle down, and learn how to control my inner dragon. I want the freedom to decide my future. What I got was an unexpected journey to 1742 Scotland and two full-blooded Highlander dragon shifters who think I belong to them.'
The characters were very appealing and complex and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Portia is the only pure blood female dragon but has yet to find her mates. The curse that killed the female dragons has been broken but since then Portia has been the only female born and after a couple of decades she still needs to find her mates. her father the king has parties where she meets males but has not yet encountered them. Even though her father tells her to keep away from the old stone circle she often visits it until one night she is pulled into a portal.

WOW! A beautiful ending I’m so glad happened!! I thought this series was done with Isolde, Cormac, and Niall successfully having healthy twins, and I loved all of that. To see those twins grown and Portia’s path to saving the dragon species so perilous but full of love and passion and danger! Exciting and witty and clever. I’m so happy that Tavish and Albie are now in our hearts because they’re so stinkin cute!! It was perfect ❤️
Love Across Time This story was such a satisfying wrap up of the story lines in this series. Portia is Isolde/Cormac/Niall’s daughter from ‘Kiss of a Dragon King’, and when she falls through the old stone back through time, she meets her mates, Alban and Tavish. Their journey isn’t a smooth one, but I loved all the time hopping and how micro events really tried this series together. A fantastic and red-hot read.
This is one of my favorite series! And now I am so sad to see the end of it. Amy Pennza did a fabulous job of capturing the emotional highs and lows, while also keeping the scoville rating at the very top. The tension eb and flow is perfectly articulated as the characters develop. If you love MM/MMF, fated mates, dragon shifters, and search/burn the world for her, this is your series.
An engaging paranormal romance with a creative mix of dragon shifters and time travel. The characters are well-defined, the stakes feel meaningful, and the Highlander setting adds charm and tension. While familiar tropes are present, they’re handled well, making this an enjoyable read for fans of shifter and fate-driven romance.
"I've waited a thousand years for you, I'd wait ten thousand more, through fire and madness and the death of our kind. I'd wait until the stars fall from the sky and the seas run dry. You're worth waiting for, Princess, even if you're not ready to accept it yet."
What a finish to an incredible series! The emotions... The spice... This book was a beautiful 5⭐️!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed The Dragon Laird series. This was set quite a few years after the 5th book, which I’m glad about. Book 5 had such a big story and ending, book 6 needed to bring in something new and it didn’t disappoint. Spicy scenes and sexy dragons!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a great finish to the series that ties up everything nicely. I liked the mating of Portia, Travish and Albie.
This is the last in the Dragon Lairds series and am so sad to say goodbye. I have loved every single one.
I loved this storyline so much.
Portia and her Mates Travish and Albie are from a different point in time and the gods and fate have many a plans for them before they can truly be together.
Portia, Travish and Albie have fantastic chemistry and banter. They are just amazing characters overall and the spice oooooo its soooo soooo good.
Plenty of twists and turns, emotions, adventure and Scottish men
The story rounds the whole series up in a nice little package.
'I won't let you go. I'll follow you through Time if i have to.'
