This was an ARC read from the author

This is a cozy alien omegaverse story with spice. It also a little fated mates trope going on. Make sure you know what that means before reading

Also, I need to note I am going to explain the story, but I’ll forget and leave out a lot of wonderful parts like the scene with the black panties 🫨🫣🤭

Also, Apodis has a lot of great lines, but I am bad at highlighting digital texts, so you don’t get any of those. All this to tell you if you like MMC’s who swoon, fall first, and 💦to the FMC any chance they get you’ll love this story. Dude is always rock solid 😉

Tentacles! It’s really that simple. That’s what drew me to this story and the tentacles do not disappoint.

There are two of them in this story and this species of alien, the Oslieth, have two tentacles that come out of their backs if they are Alphas. Oh they can also 💦during the pleasure times, btw. The spice is going on in this story. Like even the epilogue has spice 🤭

Zenith is the alien cat and he’s blue and cute and I totally made him out in my head to be the KPop Demon Hunters cat. Though they are very different.

Z or Zenith does talk and he’s like Apodis’ only friend so they have a such a cute bond. Zenith is snarky and I love it and also sometimes a better people person than Apodis.

Zenith and Gemini get-a-long really well and I think their relationship is one of the many reasons Apodis falls first for Gemini. Gemini does break Zeniths heart and I think she needed to provide a special mean or activity to make it up to him.

Zenith does not bother Gemini or Apodis during their play time, which I was hoping for a sexiling of Zenith from the bedroom.

Gemini is the human FMC and she doesn’t know she’s an omega until she encounters the MMC, Apodis who is both an alpha and an Oslieth alien.

This is a really cozy story. It’s a low stakes story centering just on Gemini and Apodis. Mostly their relationship, but a little bit of Gemini’s personal life plays into their relationship.

The setting is Thitis 4x, I think is the planet they are on. They’re mostly in Apodis’ cabin and a little in the jungle/forest of Thitis 4x. Not too much happening in the outside world other than a bloom that Gemini is eager to experience.

Most of the drama is between Gemini and Apodis. Mostly Apodis figuring out how to tell Gemini she’s an omega and going through heat.

Apodis falls first and it’s really adorable. He’s trying everything he can to be respectful of Gemini. It felt like a slow burn because of how much he was resisting Gemini at first.

There is a third act breakup though they weren’t actually together, so it’s not REALLY a break-up, but it is a third act relationship drama. Like, we don’t know if they’re going to be together.

Apodis does withhold information from Gemini which is what causes this would be, third act break up. However, Gemini responds appropriately, she leaves him and goes back to her life.

I personally think she forgave him a little too easy, but we see her logic and why she chose to forgive him, so it’s fine with me. Whatever Gemini wants, but honestly I get it. After being filled with alien 🍆 and tentacles. I’d go back too. It’s obviously a HEA story and so adorable.

Give me a cabin in the woods, a devoted alien mate and a sassy, talking cat companion any day.

A nice HEA focused on the planet Thitis 4X with an alien race called Oslieths. They run on Omegaverse traits with alpha and omegas.

Gemini is an employee of NovaFlora, on the planet studying plants and there specifically for the spores of the Lumaria Vitellus plant.
She gets annoyed with her work mates flirting and hooking up so she goes for a walk and ends up following a scent deep into the forest.

Apodis and Zenith are relaxing in the forest close to his home when Apodis suddenly scents something and chases it deeper until he ends up spying on Gemini. In the end Zenith bits him and causes Gemini to run and injure herself.

Its a cute book with minimal stress and plenty of heat with great green flag alpha scenes.

I'd like to start by thanking the author for an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

Gemini is a xenobotanist who fled earth after her loser boyfriend and her broke up, and she's studying rare plants on an alien planet. UNFORTUNATELY you know she falls, hurts herself, and gets swept up in the arms of a gorgeous alien who has a funny and very forward cat companion.

GET YOU A MAN WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU AND CARRY YOU AROUND WHEN YOU'RE HURT. No literally this was great. Aside from the part where Apodis' pheromones change her into an omega... like he's perfect and I'd become an omega for a hot alien daddy lets be real. He's an older alpha who can't find a partner because having kids is a deal breaker for most people on his planet... stupid people passing up on him. He just wants to look out for Gemini and make sure she's loved and has everything she could want in life. Gemini is so passionate about her work and what she does, but slowly comes to love the life that she is developing hidden away in a cabin with Apodis.

The way the alpha/omega dynamic was worked into the story and their every day lives was perfect, it wasn't just apparent in the bedroom it was actually apparent everywhere.

The spice we witnessed in this book had so much foreplay and build up AND I LOVED IT. Genuinely build that connection, learn each others bodies before you go to pound town!! Also mating tentacles are everything to me at this point, and I love reading about them in books I will not apologise for that.

The two things I didn't enjoy were that I wish we saw the crew grilling her or having more interaction when she got back to them, and I just hated that he kept that secret that he had from her because it just could have been just as good a story if he told her and gave her the choice rather than the whole 'alpha protection' thing.

Overall this was a cosy and low stakes omegaverse read, but it was well done and I did enjoy it a whole lot!

This was my very first omegaverse book and I’m really glad to have done this journey with an author I really enjoy! It was her first delve into this sub genre and felt like I learnt so much as the MFC learnt too!

Gemini our MFC is human and Apodis our MMC is an alien - a big sexy purple alien with mating tentacles 🥵he also has a cat name Zenith… an alien cat who talks!

I love that they are both kinda geeky with the love of the work they do and that intelligence is something that is celebrated in this story.

Like I said this was my first time in an omegaverse story however I’m not new to things like heat, rut and knots. It was so cute seeing Gemini nesting!! I’m a grateful for my first time into this subgenre being childfree - it felt really special and organic that both of their wishes were respected but they could still have the fun around breeding.

Apodis is such a a sweet caring alpha l, cooking and caring after her but once he accepted his fated mate he was a little feral in the bedroom (or you know at a bloom festival) and was eating it up!!!!!

I’m so excited to read more of @ekdarnellbooks sci-fi adventures and I note this says book 1 on the cover sooooooo I can’t wait!!

MF alien omegaverse
Human woman X alien male
Omega awakening
Mature main characters
Adorable cat-like side character
Breeding kink with no intent to breed

This was such a cozy, spicy alien omegaverse and a very quick read. Gemini is such a relatable FMC - sick of men, working hard for women’s health and child-free by choice. Apodis is a big softie for her - he cooks! He tends to her physical needs! And - OOPS - maybe he accidentally causes an omega awakening in her just be existing and smelling so darn good?

This spice is DELICIOUS. He has two mating tentacles, a regular (but large) peen with a knot and ridges) and an extra long tongue. I love him. He also has an alien talking cat sidekick.

There’s a bit of drama with someone not being completely forthcoming but we all learn our lesson and come out better in the long run.

10/10 would recommend. Will read more in this wild.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to E.K. Darnell for the opportunity.

Twisted Vines is juggling a lot of ideas and sometimes it drops one of those balls. We have the world building of the sci fi setting and the omegaverse dynamics. We have cozy domesticity and scorching hot spice. And there’s some social commentary in there too. It was a lot for a smaller book and sometimes the pacing felt uneven due to trying to balance it all.

That said, it does succeed at all of it some of the time. I enjoyed the spicy scenes and some of the cozy situations. I’m a sucker for a talking feline and this book scratched that itch. The world was interesting even if at times I felt the lore dropping was a little heavy handed.

I would definitely give other books by this author a try because there was some really good stuff in Twisted Vines. Unfortunately the pacing issues got in the way of my enjoyment.

This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a sweet and spicy, fated mates, age gap, sci fi omegaverse romance between Gemini, the female human medical science researcher lead on another planet and now presenting as an omega, and Apodis, the male alpha quantum cartographer lead in semi-retirement in a forest. I enjoyed Gemini’s willingness to explore new possibilities and her determination to improve women’s health. I enjoyed Apodis’ care for Gemini and his provision for her needs. I enjoyed the steamy and spicy intimate scenes, and the deepening relationship. I enjoyed Gemini’s true enjoyment of Apodis’ lifestyle. I adored Apodis’ sentient feline-presenting companion, and his sassy commentary on activity. I enjoyed the joyfully child free ending, and the satisfaction the characters found with each other.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

This was a fun and spicy read by a new-to-me author. The world building and character back stories were well done so I could easily get fully into the reading zone. Gemini, looking for a fresh start, is on planet studying the plants there, but she's looking specifically for the Lumaria Vitellus plant when she sprains her ankle. Apodis, a sweet and caring alpha, finds her and carries her home to help heal her. Love this! However, his pheromones change her into an omega...oops! These two build such a great connection and incorporate their alpha/omega designations in all aspects of their lives. The heat between them was off the charts hot...did I mention his tentacles?! I'm a sucker for a tentacle romance and I was not disappointed in this one ;D While you will find some drama in here, it really is a light read that ends in a fab HEA. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book :D

I received a copy of the ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review. All opinions are my own.

I loved seeing EK's first adventure into the omegaverse. I loved the writing and the characters in this book. They were all fantastic, and EK makes you fall in love with them so fast. I also absolutely love the world he can't write in; they're all phenomenal, and I love all the intricacies within them. Zenith was 1000% my favorite character. I love a sassy little side character who medals and everything. This book was just so heartwarming, and I am so grateful that EK gave me the chance to beta and then ARC read this book. I just loved reading this, and if you're looking to get into the omegaverse or want to find more omegaverse authors to read, I definitely recommend EK and all of her other sci-fi romances.

🌸 sweet & gentle alpha
🌸 matchmaking....cat?
🌸 nature & science
🌸 well-utilized tentacles 👀

see THIS is the dynamic i wanted to see from my underwhelming Daddy-Dom Gargoyle romance. Caretaking alpha/dom in their everyday relationship....not just kink during the spicy scenes.

So the cat is kinda a cat? But he's sentient! He speaks! And he's totally a meddling matchmaker.

I really liked that there weren't a lot of smut scenes, but the ones that we did get were longer. Like...more foreplay. More detail. Not just a quick interlude in the kitchen or smthn 🤣. The alpha/omega dynamic showed well in both their daily life and the spicy parts. And I LOVE that MMC is not a macho type. He's a sweet caretaking introvert.

Trust me, his mating tentacles are VERY well utilized.

Thorough smut scenes, and sweet emotional coziness for the rest.

I don't read a lot of OV because I'm generally not a huge fan of MMMF but I'm realizing I kinda love the alpha/omega dynamic? So I enjoyed this cozy MF OV

I did not expect to be fantasizing about a purple alien but here we are!

Follows a Xenobotanist who escapes earth after a breakup to study rare plants on an alien planet. Where she ends up in the arms of an alpha oslieth alien.

It is atmospheric, surreal, page-turning, and immersion.

The characters, the world building and spice scenes are very well written. You can feel the chemistry with the MCs and the description of the spice scenes are "chef's kiss".

Read this if you loved, Tentacle Daddy and The Cosmic Monster Series.

Explicit sexual content, forced proximity, age gap, instalove, fated mates / mating bond, alien anatomy content.

Thank you to the author for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I'm always beyond excited when I get to read one of E.K Darnells books. Not only am I guaranteed some spicy romance, but I also get to experience a new, unique world. Each alien species we are introduced to in E.K.'s books are unique, titillating, and so creative.

I'm allergic to most plants, but I'll be damned if this book didn't make me want to visit a greenhouse and pick out some new flowers for my garden! The backstory for both MCs is detailed without being too overwhelming, and I love the growth we see for both of them as the story progresses.

For their first omegaverse, E.K. really nailed it, and the tension between the characters is delightful right from the start! I'm looking forward to the next instalment in this series for sure!

3.5✨ but I rounded up! I was fortunate to receive the eARC for this novella.

This was a fun spicy alien omegaverse novella. It has an interesting world and I loved the alien flora that was discussed in the book.

I will say one thing I noticed is the number of time the characters “smiled” especially in a “shy” way. That’s all I could focus on sometimes when reading.
But the spicy was great! Tentacles and a knot?! 🥵

I believe there will be another book in this series and if it’s following the character I think it will, I will probably be reading that one as well! Thank you so much to E.K. for allowing me to read this early.

Getting injured in the middle of nowhere on an alien planet sucks. But not when there is a really good-smelling (and looking) alien guy to save the day. Plot twist? His pheromones make her change. Like a lot. All the omegaverse spicy goodness follows.
Twisted Vines is a cozy alien romance with two cute characters with great chemistry. APhodis is not your typical alpha - he's anxious and a bit withdrawn, but he can surely rise to the challenge. And Gemini is just done with people of Earth who don't treat her very well. Who can blame her for falling for the purple alien who dotes on her and can give her teh life she dreamt of?

I’m swooning so hard over Apodis. This was such a wonderful read. Gemini was such a great character. Her annoyance about her coworkers was so funny and it ended up leading her straight to Apodis. Apodis was just adorable and I loved how awkward he was sometimes. It was the cutest thing how devoted he was to taking care of Gemini and helping her heal after she hurt her ankle and even though certain situations weren’t handled perfectly, he always had the best intentions. The spice was crazy hot, tentacles and stuff. Zenith was a delight and I want a caerulian of my own desperately. I loved the ending so much and this was a really incredible read.

The perfect cozy, science fiction omega verse romance you didn’t know you needed!

Did I read this all in one night? Yes, yes I did 🥵

One word… tentacles!

I really enjoyed the science fiction aspect more than I thought I would, I think it really adds to the overall storyline and vibe of the series. I almost wish there was more background on the planet, but I’m sure other books in the series will round out the information.

Even though I’m not a 3rd act breakup type of reader, getting to see Gemini discover who she is and get a HEA in the end was satisfying.

Thank you E. K. Darnell for an eARC!

I received a free copy of this book and am leaving my review without obligation.

I really don't like reading from the third person or in the past tense. So I was already disappointed at the beginning of this book. But I have to say that it only lasted a very short while!! I can't give a star less for it, the book is to good 👍

The world she describes is so inspiring. The colors and scents she evokes, it is as if you are standing in the forest yourself. I wish I could live there! She writes so smoothly and beautifully; it pulls you right into the story. I couldn't put it down! Zenith is absolutely my favorite!

The author is also very available to her readers; I had a problem, and she helped me as quickly as possible. It is nice to be seen by an author for a change, and not just an extra vote.

It is a very hot and sweet romance, highly recommended!

Twisted Vines by E.K. Darnell is a super cute and spicy alien omegaverse story between a female human scientist and an alpha alien male, who is very much a cinnamon roll. I loved this book. It is a slow burn but when it gets spicy, it’s spicy. He’s got an appendage for every hole, to say the least! I really like E.K. Darnell’s writing style. She just knows how to write great cinnamon roll MMCs, and I personally love that.

I definitely recommend Twisted Vines by E.K. Darnell. Especially if you love alien romances, tentacles, knotting & omegaverse, and cinnamon roll MMCs. This book has all of that and more. I definitely think it is worth checking out!

Such a cute and cozy omegaverse, in space! I love the concept of omegaverse with aliens! It's really makes that Omega presentation surprise work in a really cool way, since it's not a human concept.

Neither Gemini or Apodis never thought about settling down until they met each other! Their journey to get together was so sweet.

When I tell you you should read this, I mean it! This is such a cute story. E.K. takes to a distant planet and gives the FMC a goal that many wish there was more investigation into.

The FMC is a fun character who handles her world well and works with what she is given.

The MMC is a gentleman in the forest and an Alpha in the nest.

I think my favorite character was Z. I loved his attitude and nature.

If you enjoy:
-Tentacles
-Alien Alphas
-Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics
-🪢s and *ridges*
-Bondings
-Breeding talk but no results

You should 110% pick this up and read it!

If you like Omegaverse with a purple 7 foot Alpha Alien with tentacles and a human that transforms into an Omega then this book is for you! They have a Sidekick that is sassy as can be! Their story is so cozy and cute.

Apodis is so sweet and anxious. He just wants to keep Gemini safe and take care of her! He also has a real dirty mouth once you get him going!

Gemini just a hard working Xenobotanist that so focused on her job and get away from her ex. That her life is going be flipped upside down for the better.

He’s a 7ft alpha (who doesn’t want kids) and semi-retired recluse who moved to the middle of nowhere to live in solitude. She’s a recently single xenobotanist who’s been sent to his planet to collect rare plant specimens. There’s a very cute critter you’ll absolutely adore, lots of spice 🥵, and an HEA that will make all the angst absolutely worth it 💜 E.K Darnell absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one and I cannot recommend it enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I think I’ve become a fan of this author.
I love these spicy sci-fi cozy stories.
They’re quick to read, really well written, with a great FMC who’s direct and clever.
The omegaverse is really well executed, and the world that was created feels unique and interesting.
The story is fun and engaging, with a solid plot and just the right amount of spice.
And the MMC? Absolutely dreamy.

My eyes open to more possibilities in the omegaverse. The world building is brilliant and I loved the new plants we get to learn about.
I love the deep talks the character had to go through their lives. Especially when it came to Apodis’ species wanting to procreate but that’s not what he wants.
The spicy between the characters is chefs kiss! Apodis trying to resist Gemini’s heat, and Gemini not sure why she’s really horny.

While I enjoyed the story overall, I was surprised by how quickly Gemini was like, "yeah this is cool, I think I'll stay here." I guess it could be chalked up to an Omega thing, but it was still a tiny bit off putting.
The rest of the story was good. I liked the various ways Apodis cared for her without trying to influence her choices.

Apodis was such a cute and shy Alpha who did not disappoint in the bedroom, and Gemini was an absolute flirt who interrupted his life in the best way. Not to mention, Z, the cutie patootie cuddler!
