Cinderella feel with a HEA ending
His Sinful Valentine is the fifth book in the Holiday Hearts series by Lydia Hall. This story has it all and then some, if you love a large age-gap, one night stand, secret pregnancy, possessive billionaire, best friend's daughter/dad's best friend, and a big scandal as the cherry on top story. The story is about Lila and Grayson who have known each other for years. The story has a bit of a Cinderella theme, with an evil and money hungry stepmother and stepsister that are both conniving. I did enjoy this book, even if I wanted to cuff Grayson upside his head more than a few times before he finally pulled it out of his "you know what" area. Lila is a young woman who has been having her life choices decided for her and gone along with them all. But when one choice becomes a huge mistake she will have to decide just what she wants and if she is brave enough to make that choice for herself.

His Sinful Valentine is such a delicious forbidden romance with so many irresistible tropes—dad’s best friend, close proximity, evil stepmother and stepsister, accidental pregnancy, and so much more.
The story follows Lila, whose stepmother controls her life and makes decisions for her behind her father’s back. Then Lila meets Gray, her father’s friend, and the two share a mind-blowing one-night stand that changes everything.
One thing that really stood out to me was how much Lila’s father genuinely wanted her happiness, even from afar. I also loved Darcy’s kindness—she took Lila in and helped her without expecting anything in return, and that made such an impact.
Gray’s love for Lila was written so well, and you could clearly feel that Lila loved him just as deeply. Their connection was intense, emotional, and easy to root for.
The side characters also added so much to the story. Adam, Vanessa, Camille, and Beatrice all played their parts in making the book even more engaging, and I liked seeing their growth as the story unfolded.
This was a 4-star read for me, and I’d definitely recommend it.

I found this story charming! You have the classic Cinderella theme with the wicked stepmother and step sister who are nothing but gold digging witches. They try to force their hand at every turn to benefit their need for money and just outright greed. Don't worry they get what's coming to them. Then you have our hero Gray who is the father's best friend and the forbidden lover. Somehow there is just this magnetic attraction between Lila and Gray. No matter what Gray tries he just can't stay away. The pairs ex lovers scheme with the evil stepsister and mother to break them apart and scandal ensues. You will have to read to find out what happens but you will find yourself going through the gamut of emotions.

Grayson, Lila’s Dads friend has sworn off women. He sees them as money hungry people who will lie and cheat to snag him. In fact, 1 woman tries to drug him but luckily Lila saves him from it.
Lila’s Dad asks Grayson (Gray) to check on Lila while he is out of town. Well that has many twists and turns.
