About the author

Jason Hook has written many fiction and non-fiction books for children, including Where’s the Dragon? (Sterling), Wendy and the Wallpaper Cat (V&A Publishing) and The Marine Team (Button Books). His illustrated ‘verse a day’ fairy-tales can be found at jasonhookbooks.com.

Jason lives in Brighton, England, where he combines writing, editing and publishing with guitar playing, long walks and birdwatching, not all at the same time. His favourite authors include Roald Dahl, Mervyn Peake, Maurice Sendak, Lewis Carroll, Julia Donaldson, Graham Greene and Joseph Conrad.

Who's in the forest today? This book explores some of the inhabitants in a colorful and straight forward look, bringing the forest closer to home and making it an inviting and intriguing part of your child's world. Richly pigmented colors bring the animals to life with intensity.

THE FOREST FOLK is a breathtakingly beautiful book in a "Beth Krommes" sort of way, and, in my opinion---that's saying a LOT! Learning about animals in this appealing, hands-on way is sure to please any reader, young and old. You'll want to admire these pages again and again :)

This is such a beautifully illustrated kids book! I like the way it sounds when you read it, it's clever and cute, and comes with cool cut outs to make in the back. Adorable, one of my favorites that I've read to my nephew.
