After a toxic breakup, I'm dragged into a masquerade for the city’s elite. Velvet masks. Dirty money. Men who rule from the shadows. My sister humiliates me about my curves—in front of everyone. Then he steps in.
Tall. Commanding. His fingers tighten on my hips. “Every man has been watching her from the moment she walked in,” he says coolly. “But they all know that I get what I want.”
Behind our masks, we're free. One forbidden night of breaking my own rules. The only memory of him, a neck tattoo of a grizzly bear.
Until two pink lines shatter my world.
Years later, I’m a struggling single mom desperate for cash. I land a job as a 24/7 executive assistant. Thinking my luck's finally turned—until I meet my new boss.
There’s something about him that makes my pulse stutter, a haunting sense of déjà vu I can’t shake.
And then I see it.
My masked lover is my boss. The father of my child.
By day, I move when he commands, every order thick with tension. By night, he commands my body like loving me is a war he’s determined to win.
But in his world, love comes with danger. Because falling for a Bratva boss was never part of the plan.
But running from him? Might be impossible.
Masked Bratva Daddy is a scorching standalone, age gap romance that is guaranteed to make you fall for the ruthless Bratva boss. No cheating, no cliffhangers, ultra-hot HEA guaranteed!
I DNF'd at 74% mark.. I can't believe I read it for this long..
This book has been a HUGE disappointment.. This does not read like what a Bratva King would do, react, or think.. Also, the female has gone from I like her and feel for her, to #YouJustStupidNow..
The threats aren't feeling like real threats either. All this story manages to do, is show you just how utterly incompetent the BIG BOSS BEAR and his "Formidable crew" really are.. The author is also trying to write in a lyrical prose about sh^t that means absolutely NOTHING. Makari & Roxy STILL have not established anything real between them...
The ONLY thing good about this book is the damn book cover, and Roxy's daughter, Andrea.😏
Though I am still unclear on how old she really is, since the timeline keeps jumping between 6 and 7 years, regarding when she was conceived.. Also this book needs an Editor that can read.. There are plenty of grammar and plot/scene continuum errors here, that served to throw me out of the flow of this story quite frequently.
This book is just an outline of I don't know WTF I'm writing. I'm just throwing some sh^t out there and hope that it sticks..
If you want to read a REAL Bratva Mafia book, then DO NOT read this sh^t!
This was live news at six.. Now back to your regularly scheduled program..
I finished it, but don’t let that fool you. I’m a glutton for punishment and I desperately wanted to know if this book deserved its 4.4⭐️’s. It doesn’t. It needs an editor desperately.
**Dima was the only good thing about this book. At least he had a personality and cracked funny jokes. **
Here’s a list of things that bugged me. Preview all the inconsistencies and see if you can handle the absurdity of this book.
At both the beginning and the epilogue, we the audience are told 7 years have passed. If that is so, then how did she go from 22 to 32?
Makari says he looked for her, but that doesn’t make sense. He knew, at the masquerade who her sister was because she told him. He knew the name of her sister and then throw in that he’s a rich Bratva boss and he couldn’t find the girl!?! Heck his money man is her brother in law. It doesn’t make sense unless he didn’t even look or he’s stupid… that’s a dumb plot line for sure.
This never even happened at the masquerade: “Is that the man your sister taunted you about?” I ask. “The one at the masquerade? That night she told you to stop waiting around for boys too weak to be men?
How can Lauren “blink audibly”… no really, how does one audibly blink?
How is Dima’s one car in two places at once: “The whole area is empty except for a few service vehicles and Dima’s massive SUV parked near the front.” And then “An engine rumbles—a deep, heavy sound—and moments later Dima’s SUV turns into the parking row.”
Makari says she should have told him sooner about Eric’s threat. She’s says she didn’t want to say it in front of his men. But she literally told him in front of his men, because the author writes: “My daughter,” I repeat slowly, the rage starting to coil, but not winding tight enough to hold back the next realization. “Our daughter?” Roxy’s throat moves on a swallow, eyes darting to see if the men heard. I can see her wondering when I stopped caring who knows.”
Roxy is six years younger than her sister, how would they have been together partying?: “I tuck a blanket around her on the couch, kiss her forehead the way I used to when we were teenagers sneaking back from parties.” To have both been in their teens, they would have been 13 and 19 respectively. What 19 year old is out partying with a 13 year old? 🙄
Eric twitches, jaw grinding. “We’re already leaving,” he snaps to his men. “We grab her if we can. If not—just go. Just go!” But they break into the room and don’t even try to grab her. They’re big bad guys and all she has is a statue. Make it make sense. It’s 4 against 1 at that point. Then Eric returns alone and drags her off. Why’d he even leave the first time?
This is my second read of this author. I can say with certainty that this was more entertaining than the first. However both are in drastic need of an editor. I’d give this author a shot if an editor was involved or time had passed so she could have matured and honed her craft. Till then I will continue to pass on this author.
You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Makari sexy as all get out boss isn’t a man you want on your radar, he is dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day and while at a masquerade for the elite of course he meets a curvy beauty that he steps up to protect that leads to the best night. Roxy curvy sweetheart forced to the masquerade after a toxic much needed break up with a horrible ex. but while there her sister decided to make herself feel better by humiliating her in front of everyone until the most gorgeous man stepped in putting an end to her sister’s craziness and it lead to an amazing night one that she would never forget. The magnetic pull was so off the charts neither of them could walk away, so giving in was their only option. Fast forward six years she is a single mom of a busy but beautiful baby girl Andi who keeps everyone she has ever met one their toes her mom just accepted a job as the Executive Assistant to none other than you guessed it Makari surprise …surprise will he be upset when he learns about his little girl, will he accept Andi becoming her protector, will he protect her mama, and is the second time around their time for happiness?
I love Sierra Voss because she writes some of the best age gap mafia romances. I loved this from their steamy one night stand at the start to the sweet family reniuon at the end after all their trauma.
I don’t read a lot of single mom romances but this was so sweet. Andi truly was one of the highlights of this book, like her cuteness shined through. But Maks protectiveness was top tier! He was super sweet in an over the top unhinged way, and yes he’s a mafia boss who’s kinda mean at first but inside he’s a softie.
The plot was pretty good, I admit I wasn’t expecting it to go where she took me but I really enjoyed it. Some great twists that wrapped up really nice ending.
Their chemistry was beautiful I just wish there was a little more actual talking between them… because after they met again most of it was either arguing or sexy time.

This story needed more character and relationship development. It was a bit of a snooze and I struggled to get through it. For as few pages as there are it kind of drags on.
I had a hard time understanding the thought process of the MFC, Roxy. She’s way too serious the entire time which only added to how boring the book came across. She had a ONS with the MMC at the beginning of the book. Fast forward several years her sister’s husband arranges for her to work for him.
The MMC struggled with sobriety and senses a familiarity in Roxy, but can’t remember where he knows her from. His struggles don’t really come into play in the book other than to explain why he doesn’t remember her clearly.
This is a secret baby trope and it was so confusing. Not because it wasn’t explained, but because no relationship developed between the two main characters or between the MMC and the daughter. Through most of the book he still refers to her as, “Your daughter” when speaking to the MFC. The MFC still lives on her own with their daughter throughout most of the book. There’s no romantic interactions between them other than an occasional intimate scene. They don’t even stay with each other. And then we’re supposed to believe they’re in love at the end of the book and that their daughter accepts him as her father.
This could have been a really good book, but it was more like reading a textbook instead of story. There’s too many details that make no sense. The one that made the least sense to me was how at the beginning of the book he had asked her name and we learn that he knows her brother in law (his accountant). The MFC’s sister knew who he was the whole time when he was masked as The Bear. It was ultimately them that set her up with the job with him… So why didn’t they help her reach out to him when she learned she was pregnant?
If you’ve ever wanted to see a devious sister’s plan backfire in the most spectacular way possible, Sierra Voss has written your next favorite irony. Masked Bratva Daddy starts in the heavy, velvet-draped shadows of an elite masquerade ball, where velvet masks and dirty money set the stage for a life-altering night. It was supposed to be a single moment of freedom from curve-shaming and toxic family ties, leaving behind nothing but a memory of a grizzly bear neck tattoo and two pink lines that would shatter a world. 🎭
Years later, the visual shifts from the hazy warmth of that ballroom to the sterile, predatory glass of a billionaire’s executive suite. Watching the FMC navigate her new role as a 24/7 assistant to the formidable Makari "The Bear" Medvedev is a masterclass in tension. Mak is a silver-fox tyrant and Bratva king whose presence is so commanding it creates a haunting sense of déjà vu. The narrative beautifully captures that moment the professional mask slips, revealing the father of her child is the man currently giving her orders. It’s a workplace romance where the air is thick with danger and secrets, moving from cold corporate commands by day to a possessive, protective war by night. 💼🐻
The Tropes 🇷🇺 Bratva / Billionaire Romance 🍼 Secret Baby / Lost Baby Daddy 🧔♂️ Silver Fox / Age Gap 🎭 Masked Identity / Masquerade 🏢 Workplace Romance / Forced Proximity ⛓️ Possessive Alpha
TL;DR: A high-stakes Bratva romance where a masked one-night stand turns into a corporate collision. Perfect for fans of protective silver foxes and the "secret baby" trope.
I'm not sure what compelled me to read this book, I guess the blurb attracted me. The plot was different and really had potential. Unfortunately, the writing kinda ruined it. There were many discrepancies, which I could have overlooked (maybe), if not for some weird choices the author made. It feels like this book is built up of plot, character traits and scenes that all HAD to be in book and were then tied together with, well, words. Even if a certain scene or conversation or mention of something made absolutely no sense in that particular place in the story. The fmc is a conservationist who likes bugs but then she lives in a forest and has zero interactions with said forest. Mmc was apparently an addict, kicked the habit one fine day and has zero scenes of consequences of said addiction or coping with quiting. There are barely any conversations between the mc's, and while the mmc thought about his daughter and fantasized of fun things to do together, he barely had any interactions with her. The effect of the sister's degradation on the fmc's self image was mentioned often but then dismissed in one paragraph, never even alluding to how mean she was. And I'm not even going to start on the characters' stupidity. I mean, why? There are all these setups for great emotions and angst that makes sense given the circumstances, and a thought-out plot that could easily be tied to character traits or background, and yet they choose not to use any of that but instead fill it up with random thoughts and mediocre sex scenes 🤷🏾♀️
I pushed farther than I should have, trying to give it a chance, but there's just so much that doesn't make sense in this book and so many inconsistencies.
She told him at the masquerade who her sister was, he even recognized her sister as being involved with one of his men, but then supposedly went looking for her after and couldn't find her.
Meanwhile, she gets knocked up on a one night stand and somehow takes forever and a day to put the pieces together of who this guy is to her. I'm sorry, but if I managed to get knocked up at a crazy masquerade in a bank vault, I KNOW I would remember every single thing about that night and the details of the guy, even if I didn't know his name at the time. Yet she acts like it's some distant memory from decades ago, and takes her sweet time even though there are clues slapping her in the face.
The plot that's trying to happen in between their nonsense is so, so bland. The MCs themselves are so, so bland. It doesn't even really feel like a bratva book. They throw that around a lot, but the MMC really just feels more like a shady businessman than someone from actual organized crime, if that makes sense. And honestly, he seems a little too soft to be a bratva leader.
There's also some drama surrounding the FMCs ex which she's generally stupid about. And she goes from "I'm never telling him about my daughter" to "she's your daughter" real damn quick.
Masked Bratva Daddy by Sierra Voss had so much potential, and while I still had a great time reading it, it fell just a tad short for me in a few key areas.
The premise was honestly chef’s kiss—masked ball, one-night stand, secret baby, Bratva boss, billionaire CEO… like hello?? All the ingredients were there. The story was fast-paced, entertaining, and easy to fly through, and I genuinely enjoyed the ride. Makari is THER MAN 🤪😮💨🔥
But my biggest frustration was the lack of follow-through. Every. Single. Time. things started to get deep—emotionally, plot-wise, or with character development—it was immediately shut down and then never really talked about again. No unpacking, no confrontation, no payoff. It felt like the story kept skimming the surface when it could’ve gone so much deeper, especially with the tension and emotional stakes.
I also wished for more involvement all around—more buildup, more tension, more moments where the characters actually had to sit in the discomfort instead of rushing past it. Those missing layers are really what kept this from being a 5-star read for me.
That said, I still enjoyed it. It was fun, dramatic, spicy, and entertaining, and I don’t regret picking it up at all. With just a bit more emotional depth and tension, this could’ve been phenomenal.
This story was beautiful, well written and I couldn't put it down!(I have stayed up all night to read it!)Kat takes Roxy has her plus one to a masked gala and shames her, then Kat shames at the party and Makari overhear their conversation and takes Roxy away from her sister.Six years later, with her life already changes it changes again when she meets the man of her dreams Makari who she didn't realize she meet six years earlier. He gives her a job and she didn't realize he is bratva until it's too late.Someone is out to get Makari,so trying to figure who Roxy's ex is back in the picture. So trying to staying alive and this and that Roxy is hiding a secret a six year secret and he finds out, there are some loud words. Now since everything is out in the open,Eric pops back in and tells Roxy he needs secrets on Makari or Eric will be dead, she won't help him so he kidnaps her. This story made laugh a little but it also made me cry too where Roxy reads the letter that Makari writes to his daughter Andi,it was grute wrenching!
Roxy has just gone thru a breakup and her sister drags her to a party, a masked one. Her sister is not nice to her and it is overheard by someone who steps into defend her. The man in the bear mask is compelling and the pair hook up outside the party. That is the last she sees of him but he left something behind.
Seven years later, Makari has thrown away the drugs and stopped drinking and ready to take his place as the head of the company. He has been told they hired a PA for him, she is not what he expects, she heats his blood from the beginning.
It takes them a little to realize that they hooked up before. She comes clean fairly early that her daughter is his. There is a going on, even the ex from seven years ago makes trouble. I loved how Makari put both of his girls first. He is harsh but only lets Roxy see behind the curtain. Looking forward to more from the author.

Look I wasn't expecting a 5 star read but at least something mildly interesting with a,plot & smut.
Right at the start the FNC is very aware that her boss is into some sketchy shit & he even ASKS her if she's going to be ok with that, with working for him. And she takes the job.
But right away she's questioning her bitch of a sister about the job. She's finding out it's Russian mafia and the very first thing that she does is go snooping, alone inside 1 of his warehouses??! For real? You can't defend that kind of stupid..
Also the MMC is aware that the FMC''s sister is his account's wife? Yet why are neither of them knowing who each are ??
The fmc left her 6 year old with her narcissistic bully of a sister for a few weeks while she works st her new place - why? This fmc is tstl
MFC Roxy is accompanying her older sister to an elite masquerade when she catches the attention of MMC Makari Medvedev, The Bear. Their attraction is immediate as is the chemistry that leads them to a passionate interlude together, no names, anonymous. Six years later and Roxy is now a mother of a five year old daughter Andi and will be starting a new job working for Makari Medvedev as an Executive Assistant. Will they recognize each other? A nicely written story follows with surprises, passion, family dynamics, Bratva intrigue, and dramatis working it’s way through this entertaining and dynamic read I enjoyed.

As someone who pushes through to finish books, this one definitely had me pushing to finish.
The story has various inconsistences that transpire throughout, making it muddled on what is the correct version. Mak and Roxy's relationship is like water and oil - not quite mixing in my opinion. Sure, they have some chemistry, but it doesn't read as a Bratva. The story and feelings tried flowing together, but in the end it got all jumbled.
Only upside I had was his right hand man, Dima. His comments had me laughing. The relationship he had with Roxy and Mak's daughter held more than her growing relationship with her birth dad.
If the book had been more refined, I could definitely state that it would be an amazing book.
This one was surprisingly good. I say that because too many with the trope of a surprise child usually has the Main Male character wanting revenge for missing out. Makari is an adult about this and realizes he played a huge part as to why he missed those years. He's still a crime boss and doesn't play nice with others but when it comes to family, he's calmer, protective, and loving. Roxy never meant to keep Andi from her father and doesn't harbor resentment towards him. They are both adults which is refreshing. Roxy's relationships grow and evolve. It's a beautiful adult story about life. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
this book is all over the place. youll have to remember some small tidbits that seem confusing and makes you want to DNF but it plays out towards the end. i get the sister being bitchy and protective but shes also sneaky setting up roxy with this job knowing full well what roxy was getting into for the sake of money and stability for her daughter. absolutely tf not will you set me up with a job for mafia for money and stability while simultaneously telling me to mind my business. i dont like that roxy was that dumb not to know mak is andi's dad and i hate that she doesnt tell him right away. i dont like how she put herself in danger with eric (just dumb.). frankly i guess i just dont like dumb b*tches 🫡 thank god for Dima and the strength or patience because i would have told Mak "hey btw andi's yours. do what you want with that information" were all lucky Dima was there cause if not im quite sure more readers would DNF.
Has potential but needs a thorough editor. They meet, both are masked, do the deed then it skips to 6 years later and it’s her and her daughter who she says is 6. Math isn’t correct, at some points some people say the girl looks 6 maybe 7.
He was playing roulette prior to seeing her at the party, was drinking but no mention of drugs, however at the time jump he talks about being addicted to alcohol and drugs and that night is a blur to him, however it doesn’t make sense she doesn’t recognize his voice.
Also in the book description it mentions she doesn’t recognize him until she sees his Bear tattoo, however the Bear tattoo was never mentioned as being seen ever in their encounter.
One night stand leads to more, so much more. Makari and Roxy are amazing characters with great chemistry with each other. The chemistry and attraction between the two of them is what makes this book special. For being a Bratva boss, Makari's knack for interacting with his daughter is very endearing. This is a sweet romance on one side, but there is quite a different side as well. The balance between the two sides of this story was a spectacular read. Very positive experience reading this book.

We all have breakup grief. We all have that one person who gets to tell you I told you so. The friend that refuses to let you wallow. Poor Roxy has to deal with both in the same person and it’s her sister. Except the friend is her sister who isn’t exactly the nicest person on the planet. I wanted to be not nice to Kat. Many times. Ugh. She’s not the only character that I felt emotional over. I love that. I enjoyed reading this.

I swear if you took out all the descriptions of the sun, the sky, the weather, the ground, the river, the air the book would be 50 pages. I just wish there had been more time given to the relationship instead of the surroundings. The little girl and Dima were the highlights and there should have been more of them. I had high hopes cause I’m always down for a plus size FMC and a silver fox bratva daddy but I felt like I drudged through the descriptors just to find the meat.
Makari is a bratva Russian boss. He isn’t good when he first meets Roxanne 7 years ago. He was drinking and doing drugs. Their one night together made a little girl named Andrea. She is full of life. Roxy is trying to make life better for her and her daughter and her sister hears about a job. Roxy works for the man that stole her heart but they don’t know each other at all but Roxy feels safe and protected when Makari is near. When trouble comes he’s there for her because for the first time in forever they are something he can’t lose.
This was so good. I enjoyed this book from the very beginning. The action is non-stop and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The chemistry is off the charts. I loved how these two main characters got together and how their relationship develops. You can't help but have a soft spot for his right hand man. Especially when they call him out on his bs. I loved every moment of this book. This is a must read!!
Overall, it was a pretty good and the conflict was as expected from the summary of the book. I didn't understand though how it didn't click for him when he interviewed Roxy especially when he knew who her sister was in the beginning of the book. I would have liked to see more of their relationship development as well. It was still good.

'Because falling for a Bratva boss was never part of the plan. But running from him? Might be impossible.'
The plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was solidly drawn. The characters carried the story and they were very compelling and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.
Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!.

I really enjoyed this book. I love the age gap trope and silver foxes so basically this book had my name written on it. Roxy and Makari's story kicks-off with a combustion of tension, emotion, steam and attraction that captured my attention and got my heart invested quickly. The blend of sultry and sweet is seriously potent and had me deeply in my Feels as these two strive toward a richly deserved HEA.
The story drags. Most of the interactions are a nonsense, pretty useless and do not add to the story in a positive way. The story started quite well actually, but then the interest dropped very quickly. Few mistakes makes me think this is a story out of AI, but not corrected or implemented properly. The FC is 22 years at the beginning and after 6 years she is 32. They are few things that are incorrect; but the main issue is: boring.
