What happens when the man stalking you is the only one who can save you from the monster you almost married? SIMONE I left him. Changed my number. Got a restraining order. Moved to a new apartment where he couldn't find me—where I could finally stop hiding the bruises. I thought I was finally free. But Garrett doesn't believe in free. He believes I belong to him—and he's coming to collect. What I didn't expect was him. The silent enforcer who watches me from across the training facility. The scarred, dangerous man who knows my coffee order, my schedule, my secrets. He's been following me for months. I should be terrified. Instead, when he touches me, I feel something I'd forgotten existed. Safe. Wanted. Alive.
KADE I know I'm not a good man. I've broken bones. Spilled blood. Done things that would make her run if she knew. My father raised a monster, and most days, I don't bother pretending otherwise. But the first time I saw Simone Belaire, something cracked open inside me. I've watched her for five months. Followed her home. Memorized the way she moves, the sound of her laugh, the exact shade of her smile. I know her ex is circling closer. I know what he'll do if he gets his hands on her. He won't. She thinks she needs saving. She's wrong. She needs someone willing to burn the world down for her. That's me.
When Garrett makes his move, all bets are off. Simone is caught between the polished predator who once put a ring on her finger and the brutal enforcer who'd paint the ice red to keep her. One wants to own her. One wants to worship her. Only one will walk away.
VICIOUS is a scorching dark romance with a possessive, morally gray hockey hero, a resilient Black heroine reclaiming her power, and explosive chemistry that burns off the page. Full-length standalone with an HEA. No cliffhanger. No cheating.
Reader Contains domestic violence, stalking, explicit sexual content, and a hero who doesn't play by the rules.
I loved this story. They was able to come full circle. I would love to see the climax make more sense. Why would she not take care of cleaning the apt after Garrett trashed it? Even if her and Kade did it together. Then in what world of stupid would you go back to said apt, unprotected, unarmed. She actually told him to let her do it on her own like she was a "big girl" when dealing with a stalking, abusive ex who don told her if he can't have her no one would. Make it make sense. If my sister's apt was trashed I would want to see the devastation when I got into town.Im just saying.....
3.75 ⭐️ rounded up. Hockey, stalker, interracial romance. Good writing. Completely entertained during the first half but the instalove (literally) and the lack of character depth or chemistry just turned this into a slog for me personally. But this is an indie writer with more talent with style and prose than 90% of the KU writers I’ve ran into in this space so this is 4 stars for me even if I’d wanted more from the plot as a whole.
I’ll be reading book 2 asap! And I’m not a huge fan of the covers but I’ve read some truly mediocre to awful writing the same kinda of AI photo covers, N. Viktoria actually has the talent to be splashed all over KU and social media.
Kade oh Kade, true alpha, obsessive, stalker, protector but love him some Simone... Great story, about an unconventional hero and a woman just trying to leave her past that just wouldn't leave her alone... Kade is also passionate and Simone is no pushover and the chemistry is off the charts...
This book is so obviously AI generated. I use chatgpt alot as a boredom buster and have on occasion used it to generate stories (for my eyes only). Its annoying to see that someone would actually have the audacity to pass this off as their own. They didnt even bother to try and improve the writing or work on continuity. Ive always wondered what people spoke about when they talked about spotting AI, I thought it would be impossible, but this just proved its not, or was this 'author' just extra sloppy with what they put out there. Whats annoying is the BWWM trope is overlooked by mainstream authors so readers who love it will be drawn to this book and the others by this 'author'.
What can I say? The book had a promising start but quickly devolved into inconsistencies and repetitions that clearly suggested this was not written solely by the author. I always wondered how some of these authors were able to churn out volumes of stories in such a short time and now I realize why, it’s simply because of using A.I.
Look…requesting assistance is not so bad in and of itself, but when a point has been made in a previous chapter and then is declared as a new point in another chapter, that’s just sheer laziness on the part of an author who could not even be bothered to at least read over what A.I wrote and then make the necessary adjustments / corrections. Pushing quantity over quality does your readers a grave disservice and it has become increasingly obvious that this author and others like her only care about money and not even about having a good writing reputation. This tells us all we need to know about you.
In short, this book was yet another substandard piece of……….. (Review not written by A.I. )
I loved this story. I've read hundreds of books over the years, and this is another one by this author that was really touching. This was real life. Raw human emotion, ranging from anger, obsession and just crazy to heartbreaking vulnerability and tenderness. I recommend reading "Fighting for Her" by this same author. You will truly enjoy it as much as this one. Will be reading more books by this author
I really enjoyed this book. I love the way he cherished her. They needed each other and he loved her fiercely. I love the cover of the book. I gave it 5 stars because it was deserving of it.
I enjoyed this love story because they saw each other as people worth loving. He wasn't perfect. He was who she wanted and needed. She was his redemption.
