A sweet friends-to-lovers hockey romance with fake dating sparks, matchmaking mischief, and a promise that could change everything...

Scarlett
I launch myself at Steven—my childhood best friend and new next-door neighbor—and kiss him. My heart races like that night we swore to forget. “Pretend you’re my boyfriend,” I whisper, desperate to ditch a guy who won’t quit. His arms wrap around me, and our fake relationship reignites feelings I’ve buried. Living next door again, with him playing for the Wolverines, makes pretending risky. I promised his dad I’d find Steven his perfect match—a vow I’ll keep, even if it costs me him forever.

Steven
Scarlett’s kiss hits like a body check, stirring feelings I’ve ignored since that night. I’m back home, next door, and a Wolverine. I’m not here for games—except on the ice and apparently this fake relationship. She keeps playing matchmaker, blind to the fact my heart’s always been hers. I reject every setup, hoping she’ll see she’s the one.

Can I break through her walls before her promise pushes me away for good?

Perfect for fans of clean sports romance, friends-to-lovers sweetness, fake dating fun, and heartwarming hockey rom-coms with all the sizzle and no spice. Dive into this kisses-only, slow-burn standalone with next-door neighbor vibes, matchmaking chaos, mutual crushes, and a swoony happily ever after!

Snapshot To My Match

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

ACR from @authorabbygreyson

I enjoyed this book so much as I have been with all of Abby's books so far.

This book is a very funny, sweet hockey romcom, fake dating, lots of meddling brothers and heaps of love to give in this book that will get you hooked instantly.

Like who doesn't love a good hockey romcom romance!!!!

Scarlett and Steven are such an adorable couple,

They have known each other since school and now Steven is a top hockey player and has decided to move back into his own home town living right next door to Scarlett.

Funny moment Steven definitely did not expect Scarlett to throw herself into  his arms  and start kissing him when he came back to town and asked him to be her fake boyfriend, Steven was quick to answer YES as he has been In love with her since school his whole life.

I loved these two as a couple, yet Scarlett knows deep down how much Steven means to her than simply just friendship yet the promise she made to his sick father is what's stopping her from going anymore further with the relationship.

They both had the most funniest banter you can ask for in this book and I loved how well it fitted just right at the right time and place.

The chemistry between them was beautiful and showed that they are just perfect for each other.

Thank you Abby for this lovely ACR copy in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely love your books and can't wait to read more.

Review of ARC received from the author.

Finally the wait is over!!

I have literally waiting for Scarlett and Steven’s story. The way their relationship moved from friendship to more was really adorable.

I really loved and enjoyed reading this book!! Scarlett and Steven were so cute together. I really loved their banter. And their chemistry between them was perfect.

I also loved both of their families. Steven’s brothers were meddling in the right way. I loved the way the siblings acted with each other. And the matchmaking plan was such a genius move!

I can’t wait for the next book to be released.

I give my thanks to the author for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This story drew me in from the beginning and kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning. Steven and Scarlett have been friends for years. They grew up together and enjoyed spending time together. Steven is a professional hockey player and has recently been traded to the Wolverines, his hometown’s team. Scarlett is extremely excited that her best friend will be moving back home. As he is packing his belongings for the trip, he and his best friend, Julian, are talking. Julian asks Steven if he has any plans to tell Scarlett how he feels about her. Steven is trying to come up with the right words, the right place, and the right time to tell her. Now, we all know that is an almost impossible scenario. So, Julian asks him about that matchmaker that has a podcast named Emma. She could help him. The only problem with this solution is that Steven knows that “Emma” is Scarlett. What a predicament!
Steven goes to see his mom before going to see Scarlett. Now, you know he is one of the good guys when he makes sure to visit his mom first! His mom runs The Bleacher Bean, a local coffee shop. She is thrilled that he is back home and she will get to see him more often. She is also surprised that he did not go to see Scarlett first. She sends him on his way with Scarlett’s favorite drink. He stands outside Scarlett’s shop and looks through the front. He does not like what he sees. He can tell by Scarlett’s body language that she is not comfortable with the customer she is waiting on. She is so glad to see him, she runs over hugs and kisses him. For a moment he has stunned as Scarlett kisses him…. a long kiss. She hears the customer call her name and turns around to introduce Steven as her boyfriend. She apologizes for dragging him into her situation, but she was so tired of avoiding the guy coming in and wanting to take her out. Steven is more than happy to be her pretend boyfriend. He hopes it will turn out to be a real relationship.
Scarlett’s podcast is followed by many people, and she has a fantastic percentage of matching people together. She questions Steven about filling out the form so she can set him up with his match. Now why would she insist on doing this when she is in love with her best friend! Now years back when Steven’s dad was sick and there was not any treatment to cure him, he asked Scarlett to look after Steven and make sure he did not fall for the wrong person. Even though Scarlett is secretly in love with Steven, she insists on finding him the perfect match so she can keep her word to Steven’s dad.
Now, I do not want to reveal too much about this wonderful story. Will Steven be successful on the hometown team? Will he have a good relationship with the rest of the team, or will there be a nemesis on the team that really gets under Steven’s skin? Will Scarlett be able to put her feelings aside and find the perfect match for Steven? If she does, will his new relationship cause him to draw away? To find out the answers to these questions and more, get your copy of Snapshot to My Match by Abby Greyson today! You will not be sorry!

Steven is in love with his best friend, Scarlett. They’ve known each other pretty much their whole lives. Steven moved away a while back because of hockey, but now he’s back in his hometown, and his love for Scarlett only grows stronger.

Scarlett feels the same way, but neither of them are coming clean. And wow, do things get tangled, in a way only lies can.

Now, I know what you’re thinking — it’s not really lying, is it? Uh, yeah, it is. Neither of them are confessing their true feelings, and that’s a lie of omission. I get it, though. It’s hard to jump off that cliff, when you don’t know for sure if someone is going to catch you.

Everyone in town knows that these two are in love with each other. Steven’s brothers even get involved, and we find out one reason that the confessions haven’t happened — it’s something that Scarlett promised Steven’s dying father, and she completely misinterpreted it.

There is, of course, Scarlett going down the rabbit hole of “what if”. Personally, I’ve found the “what if” game to be a hundred percent unhelpful, unless you’re playing it on the side of what good can come of it. Most of the time, people focus on the bad things that could happen, resulting in a sort of decision paralysis a lot of the time.

I adored this book. It may me laugh out loud more than once, even as I was grumbling at the characters to just get together already. Steven’s brothers cracked me up, and it’s pretty clear the next book will be about Miles finding his match, in a grumpy bookstore owner named Izzy. But that’s a story for the future.

In short, you gotta risk it for the biscuit. It’s always better to tell your truth, because at least you’ll know where you truly stand. And in this case, Steven and Scarlett stand for each other, and get that happy ending. So, come for the friends to lovers story, stay for the supporting cast of family, friends, and teammates, and get the book.

I am so happy to be reading Abby Greyson again! It’s been too long without her on my reading list. Snapshot to My Match brings back two characters from an earlier book and I was beyond excited to get their story. A story years in the making and deserved. Featuring one of my all time favorite tropes, friends to lovers! The friendship is solid from the beginning and watching our MCs finally be honest with their feelings was utter perfection!

Scarlett and Steven were childhood best friends and now they are next door neighbors. They have been in love with each other for years, but never disclosed this information to each other. When Scarlett makes a promise to Steven’s dying father, she is determined to keep it, even if that means she gets her heart broken in the process. Yet, Steven isn’t making it easy on her. He keeps turning down every attempt she makes due to him not wanting anyone but her.

Steven already knows Scarlett is the woman for him, but how does he make her see that? Every matchmaking attempt just solidifies what Steven already knows, so now he has to show Scarlett how good they could be together. The way Steven shows Scarlett they are each other’s perfect match will make you swoon! I will always love a man who pulls out all the stops for the person he loves.

Abby brings her magical talents to this book to keep readers captivated as these two find their way to everything they have ever wanted. I fully encourage any romance reader to read this book as it is fantastic. I loved the scenes with Scarlett and Steven’s family. They love her too and want her to be a part of their family forever. Abby is a must read author for me and this book reminds me why!

Please Abby don’t make me wait too long before your next book!

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Steven has been in love with his best friend, Scarlett, for years. And she's been hiding feelings for him as well. When Scarlett asks Steven to fake date her, things start getting more complicated. Hidden feelings, a long-kept promise, and a little matchmaking turn both of their lives upside down.

I really enjoyed the beginning of Snapshot To My Match. It immediately hooked me, and the mystery surrounding the past kept me curious because I couldn't wait to find out what had happened. That curiosity eventually turned into frustration once everything was revealed though, because I was rooting for them, and not everything was as it first seemed for the characters.

My biggest issue was the romance itself. Aside from the beginning and the ending, I never really felt much chemistry between Steven and Scarlett. A lot of their conversations felt a bit empty, and I just didn't really feel their connection as a couple. The lack of romantic tension definitely played a big part in that.

I also wish the fake dating trope had been explored a little more. It's one of my favorites, but it wasn't much of a focus after a while. But in the end I didn't mind it as much because I found myself really invested in the matchmaking storyline instead.

One of my favorite things about the book was the Bennett siblings' relationship. I especially loved their dynamic, and the last quarter of the book was easily my favorite part because that's when the story really started to pick up. Miles was, without a doubt, my favorite character, and I can't wait to read his story.

Overall, this was a cute book that kept me wanting to see how everything would be resolved. But there were several moments where my interest started to fade because it dragged a little in the middle, and I think their romance would've worked much better for me if there had been more chemistry and tension.

Thank you Abby Greyson for the gifted copy of this ebook. All opinions are my own.

The Love in Overtime series focusses on the Bennets. In book 1 ‘Love Beyond The Game’ you got the heartwarming second chance romance of Becca and Jacob. In this book you get the story of her youngest son, Stephen and his lifelong best friend, Scarlett.

This is one of those books you read with a constant smile. The chemistry and slow burn between Steven and Scarlett is playful and flirty, and the dialogue is so sharp, natural, and believable that I literally got butterflies in my stomach several times. Their conversations feel like you are right there with them, making the romance grow very organically.

Both families are HILARIOUS: the Bennett brothers, Scarlett's father and her uncle are guaranteed to give you a few laugh-out-loud moments with their teasing.

It is also very relatable that the people around you and those who know you best see the potential first before you dare to admit it yourself. I liked how they gave them a little nudge and confidence without every overstepping or becoming pushy!

I was also a fan of the podcast elements: definitely a podcast I would listen to episodes of and they gave the story an original angle.

One of my favorite aspects – besides the romance – was the way conflicts are handled. When someone realizes they were wrong, it isn't brushed aside; responsibility is taken, sincere apologies are offered and work is done on repair. That gave the characters so much credibility, maturity and likeability to me. I could also appreciate that there was no third-act breakup, no needless drama.

The Love in Overtime series can be read as stand alones but are also interconnected to the Accidentally in Sports series. I haven’t read that, which wasn’t an issue for being able to follow this stories but it does make you curious to read the love stories of Scarlett’s family members! Once again: that TBR is growing 😉

I received a ARC of this book from the author and though a review wasn’t required, I wanted to offer my honest, voluntary impression upon finishing it.

If you’re a fan of Abby’s books you already have met the main characters in this book as well as the supporting ones as well! The long awaited book is finally here where Steven and Scarlett’s story takes place!

Both have been in love with each other for most of their lives but in this book we readers find out Scarlett made a promise to his dying dad and believes his dad meant for her to find someone else for him and not her!

She has been successful in the past in matchmaking and even offers advice on matters of the heart but this time when it’s her best friend and she finally realizes she loves him, it takes on an entirely different aspect! Both are shy and afraid to express their true feelings so this is uncharted territory!

With help from one his brother’s Scarlett embarks on the
plan they concocted to win Steven back to her arms for real and not pretend as they have been in a fake relationship since his return to his hometown at her urging!

Join in the angst as both try not to let their real feelings show and only gets worse when she realizes what she heard from his dad may not be what she thought after all after having a conversation with one of his brothers! I have enjoyed this series and others where relationships can get complicated if people don’t openly communicate with each other!

I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend not only this book but the others in this series where you get to meet Scarlett’s dad, his brother and Steven’s mother’s experiences at finding love once again!

I can guarantee you’ll be happy you read these wonderful stories!

An enjoyable, heart‑tugging return to a world longtime readers already love.

If you’ve read Greyson’s earlier series, this book feels like a reunion. Watching Scarlett all grown up after meeting her as a child while her father and uncle found their HEAs adds to this story. Her mission to keep a promise to Steven’s father becomes the emotional backbone of the story: she’s determined to “keep Steven open to love,” which she interprets as find him a match. The twist, of course, is that everyone but Scarlett can see the truth: she’s already his perfect match.

The promise creates a compelling emotional knot. Scarlett’s fear of “breaking it” keeps her from acknowledging what’s right in front of her, and Steven, who seems to know about the promise, even if the reveal arrives abruptly, leans into their accidental fake relationship to show her what he’s been feeling all along. It’s a sweet setup, and their dynamic has genuine charm.

Where the story wobbles a bit is pacing. The central misunderstanding stretches longer than it needs to, and the romance itself doesn’t get quite enough page time to bloom as fully as it could. Still, the payoff is satisfying, especially if you’re invested in this fictional family and its interconnected HEAs.

A cozy, familiar read with a lovable cast; just be prepared for a slow burn that occasionally drifts into too slow.

Oooooh childhood best friends, I do love this trope. I read the prequel to this one, about Steven’s mother, so I was familiar with both Steven and Scarlett upon starting this book. However, it is not necessary to have read that first; this book stands alone and holds up its own end very well. It also ties into the author’s Accidentally In Sports series as well, which features Scarlett’s family. Again, not necessary to have read these either; it just gives a fuller picture of the supporting characters.

So back to Steven and Scarlett. They’ve known each other since school, and now Steven, a top hockey player, is moving back to his hometown and living next door to Scarlett. However, he wasn’t expecting her to throw herself into his arms and kiss him when he arrived back, asking him to be her fake boyfriend. Of course he says yes; he’s been in love with her for years.

I loved these two together. Steven was completely Scarlett’s and therefore does anything for her, including letting her matchmake for him. Scarlett knows she feels more for Steven than simply friendship, but the promise she made to his sick father is stopping her from going any further. I loved reading their banter and their chemistry; they were both such lovely people who deserved to be with each other.

Steven’s brothers are hilarious, and I can’t wait to read their stories. They complemented the relationship with great advice, but also in big brother fashion, caused chaos with teasing and mischief. They are going to be great fun when the tables are turned.

Fake dating does run in her family (hahaha)

Abby, thank you for writing this lovely story. I can't get enough of these characters. Snapshot to My Match is a sweet, fun, and cute hockey romcom with fake dating, meddling brothers, and a journey of friendship to love. It's definitely a comfort read. I was excited because I adored Scarlett since meeting her in Accidentally Checked by my Brother's Best Friend. I knew there was something brewing between her and Steven then. It's been nice seeing them develop over the years in Accidentally Sliding into A Second Chance and Love Beyond the Game. Knowing their background really sweetened my enjoyment of their love story.

Scarlett and Steven are so adorable. All grown up, the matchmaker gets matched with her best friend, and their young love is pure happiness. That is, after the long "will they, won't they?" bit, so be prepared. I also love their families, so it was great to see familiar characters popping up in this story. Steven's brothers are hilarious. I enjoyed their teasing banter and game plans. I'd love to see more of Steven, Miles, and Wyatt together in upcoming books.

If you enjoy sweet sports romcoms, I definitely recommend the "Accidentally in Sports" and "Love in Overtime: The Bennett's" series.

I was sent an ARC of the book, but this review was voluntary, and all opinions are my own.

Thank you to Abby for an advanced copy of this book!

I have loved Scarlet since she first appeared in her uncle‘s book. She is still the same sassy, kind, sweet, caring, amazing person as she was when she was little. I’ve never read a second generation story before, so this was definitely a new experience for me. It was fun seeing a little girl all grown up. Sometimes it was hard to imagine her as an adult. However, Abby did a great job balancing nostalgia and her growth.

Scarlet has been in love with her best friend Steven since she was in elementary school. What she didn’t know is that this feelings were 100% reciprocated. When he saves her from some unwanted flirting from another guy, it puts into motion a unique fake dating situation. They only fake date when that guy is around. It ends up spilling over into more times than they originally thought.

I love how respectful Steven is of Scarlett in every situation. There also ends up being an element of You Got Mail vibes, which is really cute. But what I truly loved was that their families are super supportive, and any miscommunication within the story was addressed and not perpetuated.

I definitely recommend this book if you read Abby’s Accidentally in Sports series. I even encourage you to read Love Beyond the Game. It’s a quick story about Steven’s mom so you get to learn more about his family that appear in this book. You also get to see Steven and Scarlet when they are in high school.🥰

Scarlett and Steven . . .

Scarlett James is excited to have Steven Bennett, now playing professional hockey for the Wolverines, return home and move in next-door! She has loved him since they were kids growing up together, but she never let him know. She had made a promise to his dad to make sure Steven kept his heart open and found love, even if that meant she couldn't claim him for herself. So working out a "fake boyfriend" scenario, she asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend so she could convince Ryan who was annoying her to go away. Unknown to her, Steven has been in love with her for an equally long time as well. Now that he's back, maybe he can let her know? But for now, he will play along as her "fake" boyfriend. Or are they risking a scandalous rumor now that he is a hockey player and under more scrutiny from fans? Scarlett is unaware that their families expected them to choose each other. She is also still unaware that he has always been in love with her. As she diligently works to find him dates as she priomised, he rejects each one. Will she finally figure it out? And will he finally tell her who he really wants to have in his life forever?

A must read!!!

Scarlett and Steven have been best friends since elementary school and their feelings have grown since. Steven is a professional hockey player and was just traded back to his local team. Now moving back to his home town, next door to Scarlett, he wants to find the right time to tell her that he’s in love with her.

Years ago, just before Steven’s father passed away, he asked Scarlett to agree to 3 promises. Did Scarlett misunderstand a dying man’s final request for his son? Did he ask her to find his son the perfect match? Is Scarlett not good enough for Steven?

This is a FANTASTIC book!!! Once you start it, you will finish it in one sitting. The friendship/chemistry between Scarlett and Steven is perfect, and the antics of Steven’s brother’s Miles and Wyatt will have you laughing the whole time. I couldn’t put it down!!!

“I’m following her lead, because of a promise. But I’m beginning to wonder how much longer I’ll be able to play a role that I so desperately want to be real.”

“It’s a beautiful morning. With golden opportunities. The most important one being to somehow convince the only girl I’ve ever loved that she is my match."

Enjoyable story about a H who returns to his hometown as a new trade to their hockey team. The h is the best friend of the H and have been so since grade school. The h runs the bakery that makes treats for dogs which was started by her uncle. She is also is the matchmaker in the town. The H and h claim to be only best friends and no more. Everyone in their family and friends can see that they love each other, but the H is afraid to admit his love and the h believes that she can’t love the H because of a promise she made to his father before he died. As the H and h try to hide their love the brother of the H hatches a plot with h which involves her role as the matchmaker. She will match the H to herself unknown to the H and see if he will fall in love with her. She begins the hoax but then can’t complete it. They both declare their love for each other. They then notice that his brother needs a match. Thus the story ends. Recommend that you get this book and enjoy it as much as I did. Enjoy.

{ARC Reader}

I went into this book a little hesitant because it's not my favorite romance trope, but I ended up enjoying it much more than I expected.

The chemistry between the main characters developed naturally, and I found myself becoming more invested in their relationship the further I read. Their interactions were sweet, the emotional moments landed well, and the romance had enough tension to keep me turning the pages. I especially appreciated how their connection grew over time instead of feeling rushed.

While the trope still isn't one I'd actively seek out, this book reminded me that strong characters and good execution can make all the difference. There were a few moments where I wanted a little more depth or felt the pacing slowed, which is why it wasn't quite a five-star read for me, but I still had a great time with it.

Overall, this was a heartwarming romance with lovable characters and an engaging story. Even if this trope isn't usually your thing, I'd still recommend giving this one a chance—it definitely surprised me.

This was a cute and funny love story between Scarlett and Steven who have known each other since they were kids. Everyone in their lives has seen what these two refuse to admit: they are meant for each other!

I enjoyed this love story. With the best friends to more trope, you have to suspend disbelief a little since a lot of the tension would be solved if they would just admit their feelings. However, the author handled this well because Scarlett truly thought she was doing to best thing for Steven by setting him up with someone else. She needed to realize, though, that she was the perfect match for him.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted, quick read (with a little hockey thrown in).

Such a cute friends-to-lovers romance with a sweet family, matchmaking brothers, and a love story everyone saw coming except them. Scarlett and Steven had the kind of connection that felt inevitable, and I loved watching them find their way to each other.

The deathbed promise added a unique twist, especially with Scarlett misunderstanding what was truly meant. Steven finally getting the girl he’d always loved made for a satisfying emotional payoff, even if Scarlett was a bit of a ninny about it.

I also enjoyed the redemption arc for his former enemy and the strong family dynamics throughout.
A heartwarming, low-angst romance filled with second chances, found family, and plenty of “everyone knew but them” moments.

I especially love the teaser for what looks to be the next couple... we'll see!.

Do you love Jane Austen’s Emma? Then I think you will love Scarlett. She is fun loving, loyal, and has a great sense of character. Now, why can’t she figure out those talents for herself. She made a promise to her best friend‘s father before he passed away, but maybe she took it the wrong way. This is a must read for those that love matchmakers and sweet romance. Steven has come back to town to play for the local hockey team, back to his family and especially back to his best friend. He did not anticipate her most affectionate welcome, nor the fact that she asked him to be her fake boyfriend.
This is a great read, lots of banter, family busybodies, and great chemistry. It is a clean wholesome romance with no foul language. I did not read the first book in this series and had no problem reading this one out of order. I received a complementary copy and I’m leaving a voluntary honest review.

Scarlett & Steven's story is sweet...and clean, which is always appreciated!!

They are childhood best friends...but both secretly attracted to each other.

I enjoyed their story...there is a good balance between the sport & the romance aspect. It's a sweet story, where she made a promise to his Dad (who has passed) to find a match for Steven...but.. did she misunderstand & did his dad really want to see the 2 of them together? Steven's brother Miles is a fun addition to the story as well.

This is Book 2 of Love In Overtime: The Bennett's, as an interconnected standalone. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. 😍

Spice level: this is a clean, closed door romancw with kisses only.

*hockey romance
*sports romance
*clean romance
*kisses only
*best friends to more
*she's playing a matchmaker
*fake dating
*meddling family
*small town romance

A Feel Good Romance With Hockey and Heart

Snapshot To My Match was a sweet friends-to-lovers hockey romance with plenty of familiar comfort between Scarlett and Steven. I liked the childhood best friends dynamic and the way their history shaped the way they interacted with each other. The fake dating setup brought some fun moments, especially with the matchmaking angle adding another layer to their connection.

Scarlett and Steven have that “everyone else can see it” kind of chemistry, and their story has a cozy small town feel with hockey, family, and second chance feelings mixed in. I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow while they figured out what they really wanted.

This was a cute addition to the Bennett Brothers series and a nice pick for readers who enjoy clean romance, friends-to-lovers, and a little hockey charm.

I honestly don't think I've picked up an Abby Greyson book that I haven't enjoyed, and Snapshot to My Match kept that streak going. It has everything I want from a hockey romance: plenty of charm, great chemistry, funny banter, and enough swoony moments to keep me smiling the whole way through. It's the kind of book that's easy to sink into, especially while counting down the days until hockey season starts again.

Scarlett and Steven's friendship felt like the heart of the story, and watching it naturally grow into something more was my favorite part. Their history made the romance feel earned instead of rushed, and their back-and-forth had me laughing more than once. If you're looking for a clean, feel-good romance with fake dating, friends-to-lovers tension, and characters you'll genuinely enjoy spending time with, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Snapshot To My Match is a slow burn romance that is full of chemistry between life long best friends.

I really enjoyed the matchmaking storyline and how it was incorporated into the overall plot. The dialogue between the characters felt natural and the romance seemed to flourish very organically. Both the families added hilarious moments and banter. I loved the unique twist of the deathbed promise and the chaos that ensued from it due to Scarlett misunderstanding what was meant.

This is a very sweet, clean romance book that is easy to read that will keep you smiling the whole time.

Tropes include hockey romance, best friends to more, Fake Dating, Meddling Family, Small Town Romance

Snapshot To My Match by Abby Greyson is a charming, feel-good hockey rom-com that delivers a sweet romance packed full of witty banter, lovable characters, and just the right amount of heart. In this novel, we are introduced to the FMC Scarlett, the childhood best friend to the MMC Steven, a hockey player for the Wolverines. While reading this novel, I enjoyed the wonderful chemistry between the main characters. Their playful interactions had me smiling from beginning to end, while the emotional moments added depth without ever becoming too heavy. Overall, Snapshot To My Match was a wholesome sports romance with lovable characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and a satisfying happily-ever-after ending I enjoyed.

This is the second time I have read a second generation story (the first being a couple weeks ago) and I must say, it’s quicky becoming one of my favorite tropes.

Scarlett and Steven have a love much like the first generation. There was fake dating, real feelings. You could feel Scarlet’s turmoil with fulfilling the promise she made. I kept wondering what the promise could have possibly been and was not disappointed.

It was awesome referencing the characters from the first-generation series. It’s like nostalgia. There was wild crazy loving family. Miles especially (can’t wait for his book!!!) Steven was so head over heels for Scarlett and she was obviously gone for him, but neither could see it. It had the cute aspect of matching the matchmaker. OH and bringing in Duncans secret code- GENIUS. I might have let out a whoop! It was sweet

A sweet romance with a happily ever after

What a sweet hockey romance! Bennett has been in love with his best friend, Scarlett, for years. Now that he’s been traded to the Wolverines, his hometown hockey team, he’s determined to convince her they’re meant to be together.

Scarlett is the town’s secret matchmaker, and after promising Bennett’s dad that she’d help him find the perfect woman, she’s torn. She’s secretly in love with Bennett herself, making it harder and harder to keep that promise.

With a fake dating scheme, plenty of meddling from Bennett’s brothers, and years of hidden feelings finally coming to the surface, these two friends discover they’ve been each other’s perfect match all along. This is a heartwarming friends-to-lovers hockey romance filled with humor, chemistry, and a satisfying happily ever after.

Is a sweet, clean, small town, friends to more, fake dating, secret crushes, matchmaking, hockey romance with no cliffhanger.

Some of the lines I really like --- “I always thought you were more manly than this, Bennett.” -- “Oh, I’m plenty of man, James. Don’t make me show you.” --- My father taught me to try and be the bigger person in any situation that called for it. Not to be a pushover but to be aware that people have hidden struggles we don’t always see or understand. --- "The one thing I’ve learned in life, sweetie, is that there is rarely a right time to tell anyone anything.” ---

How and why did Delcan betray Steven?
What's Myles and Wyatt up to? These and other questions will all be answered.

I loved Scarlett and Steven's story and I'm sure you will too, I've loved everyone of her books that I've read and listened to. I can't wait to read her next book.

Quotes I enjoy:

“Anyone who see you two together knows how you feel about each other. It’s written all over your faces.”

“Yes, physical attraction is important, but when you go solely based on chemistry alone, the relationship is more likely to burn hot, then fizzle.”

Small town, best friends to more…could you ask for more? Scarlett and Steven have known each other since childhood, and have had crushes on each other just as long. I loved how the relationship progressed and even got the ball rolling. The closeness that both Steven and Scarlett has with their families are so and supportive. I really enjoyed all the sport analogies, just a fun way to relate.

This is book one in the Love In Overtime: The Bennett’s series. A sweet, closed door, clean reads rom com. But book two in the interconnected Bennet Brothers series. I can’t wait to read next story with the Bennet brothers.

This is a sweet, entertaining romance with likeable characters, plenty of chemistry, and a heartfelt message about trust, communication, and self-acceptance. I enjoyed watching the relationship develop naturally, and the mix of humour and emotion kept me invested throughout.

One of my favourite aspects was the inclusion of ongoing characters from previous stories. Their appearances added continuity to the series, making the world feel more connected and rewarding for returning readers without detracting from the main story.

A charming and enjoyable read that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance.

The second book in the interconnected Bennett Brothers series is a sweet, friends-to-lovers hockey romance featuring fake dating and matchmaking mischief. The story follows Scarlett and her childhood best friend and next-door neighbor, Steven, a player for the Wolverines. When Scarlett kisses Steven to escape an unwanted admirer, their fake relationship reignites buried feelings. Despite her promise to Steven's dad to find him the perfect match, Steven is determined to prove that Scarlett is the only one for him before her matchmaking pushes him away. This slow-burn standalone delivers a heartwarming sports rom-com with a swoony happily ever after. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
