Legend Of The Witch

Rate this book
Astrid has always felt like she didn’t belong in this time. She preferred being in the museum with everything old and dusty, even though she knew something was missing. A viking exhibit. She longed to see that world, to immerse herself in a life she only ever dreamed about.

When a handsome benefactor comes to the museum with so much rich viking history Astrid is overjoyed and also strangely drawn to this man. When he makes her an offer she can’t refuse her life changes overnight. Him and his best friends fly her to their house and she begins to step into a world that she only ever dreamed about.

What she doesn't expect for her dreams to start to feel like memories.

Her heart starts to wither with every memory and dream, even though love is surrounding her.

Her magic is getting stronger.

Old wounds start to open and intentions turn dark.

Even with the love flowing the guys can’t stop Astrid, and the people who are involved do not know what is coming to them.

This is a why choose where the MFC does not have to pick.

If you could go back to the past and warn yourself of future tragedies and trauma.. would you? That’s an underlying theme of this story…. This book started off with a bang and ended with a bang. It was so horrid and sad at the same time. But I enjoyed it. It was a unique plot line and an entertaining read.

Legend of the Witch was such an emotional, gripping read — I genuinely couldn’t put it down because I needed answers and outcomes.

The story begins with pure devastation that leads to an impossible choice. Astrid, our witch FMC, is forced to cast a spell that sends her into the future, stripping her of all memories of who she is and the life she once lived. Meanwhile, her four Viking husbands have been searching for her ever since she disappeared — and when they finally find her, they are not letting her go again.

This book follows Astrid as she tries to rediscover who she is while fragments of her memories slowly return… and those memories are heartbreakingly devastating. Watching her piece herself back together while learning about the love she once shared was incredibly emotional. Her Viking men are patient, devoted, and unwavering, helping her remember not just her past, but the depth of their bond.

I absolutely loved the dual POVs. Following all five characters and seeing how each of them processes loss, hope, love, and determination added so much depth to the story. Their polyamorous relationship was beautifully written — each character brought something unique to the dynamic, and the love between them felt genuine and earned.

This story is filled with grief, devastation, and pain, but it’s also about strength, resilience, and the determination to fix what was broken and set things right again. And yes… that ending. The cliffhanger had me wanting to throw my Kindle across the room in the best way because now I have to wait — and I absolutely do not want to 😂

I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

A powerful, emotional read from E. L. Rose.

The book opens with a legend that hints at everything that is to come, and it was such a beautiful way to set the tone. It then shifts into a glimpse of the past, sharing how the ending came to be and how we arrive at the present day, which immediately pulled me in.

I absolutely loved Astrid. Her fascination with the Viking era, even though she never fully understood why, was adorable. I was so impressed by how she handled everything that unfolded. Carrying emotions and memories that heavy had to be overwhelming, and she faced it with such quiet strength.

But the men… the fact that they searched for her for one thousand years is hands down one of the most romantic things I have ever read. I cannot even imagine what that life must have been like, endlessly searching for the one person who completed them.

Colden’s reintroduction to Astrid stole my heart the most. Being the first to see her again, the first to touch her, you could feel the tension, the excitement, and the fear all wrapped into one moment. It was incredibly powerful.

The story itself was completely different from anything I have read before. I did not want to put it down because I was so invested in what would happen next. At the same time, it was an incredibly emotional and heartbreaking story to follow. My heart broke over and over as the characters reflected on their past and everything they had endured. I received this book as an ARC and I’m leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Her gorgeous eyes connect with mine, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Legend of the Witch is a dreamy, slow-burning fantasy romance that leans into fate, forgotten lives, and the pull of a past that refuses to stay buried. It carries a nostalgic, almost old-soul tone—perfect for readers who love stories where history, magic, and identity quietly intertwine.

Astrid is immediately relatable in her sense of displacement. Her love for museums, artifacts, and all things ancient feels less like a hobby and more like a homesickness she can’t name. That longing makes her attraction to the Viking exhibit—and the mysterious benefactor who brings it to life—feel inevitable rather than convenient. When she’s swept into a new world, it reads like destiny finally catching up to her.

The gradual shift from dream to memory is where this story truly shines. As Astrid’s magic awakens and her past begins to bleed into the present, the romance takes on a heavier, more ominous tone. Love surrounds her, but it isn’t enough to stop what’s unfolding—and that tension gives the book its bite. The men in her life feel protective yet powerless, emphasizing that this is ultimately Astrid’s story of awakening, not rescue.

With growing magic, reopened wounds, and a darkness simmering beneath the surface, Legend of the Witch explores the idea that becoming who you truly are can be both beautiful and terrifying.

If you enjoy reincarnation themes, Viking lore, witchy heroines, and romances touched by inevitability and shadow, this book offers an atmospheric, emotionally charged read that lingers like an old spell whispered just out of reach. 🖤✨

First, the characters—this is where E.L. Rose truly excels. I was worried this would be all spice (which isn’t my cup of tea), but this is genuinely a story about family. Each character felt unique, with their own way of saying the same things, and their love for one another was tangible and real.

I loved the viking history, and honestly, the FMC reminded me so much of Lagertha from the Vikings TV series. There was one scene in this book that absolutely broke me—which only means it was written well. It involved children, and I was genuinely amazed at how thoughtfully and carefully those scenes were handled.

Yes, this book has spice—and quite a bit for such a short read. I personally skipped those scenes, and yet I still loved this book. There was so much to unpack: their loyalty to each other, their understanding, and every time they said “Lass,” my heart melted a little more. The only reason this is not a five is that I wanted more lol. More time together, more build up to the realisation, but this is just personal preference. If you love Vikings, green flag men who will die for their Lass, then this is for you.

I don’t normally like historically based books, or moves for that matter, they never hold my interest I get bored , I fall asleep. I just don’t like them. That being said I came across an advertisement for an arc. reader on this book Legends of the Witch by E.L Rose in a fb book group and I thought I’ll give it a chance it’s Vikings, which I love Viking stuff and witches which I also love and worst case scenario I’ll have to DNF it.

Am I ever glad that I took a chance!! this book was so good kept me on my toes written in multiple points of views, which I normally find annoying especially when it’s more than two, but this was amazing. Completely unexpected. The twist and turns, the drop your jaw Moments. Chef’s kiss ! Now it ended with my dear friend Cliffy.. grr.. but now I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out. I need to know what happens!!

Legend of the Witch completely hooked me from the very beginning and kept me engaged all the way through—I honestly couldn’t put it down. The story pulls you in right away and never lets up.

I loved the Viking-inspired elements woven throughout the plot. The lore and legends add a rich, immersive layer to the story and make the world feel unique and compelling. On top of that, the book brings the heat 🔥—there’s plenty of spice, written with detail, that adds intensity without taking away from the story.

Overall, this was an exciting, addictive read and absolutely a must-read if you enjoy Viking-inspired fantasy with strong storytelling and spice. I highly recommend it!

A Viking witch who betrayed by some one she trusted casts a spell that makes her four husbands immortal and sends her forward in time with no memories of what happened. Her husbands finally find her and must decide how to make her remember everything that happened and what can be done.

This was an interesting read and full of spice. Yes the FMC is a witch but besides that there wasn’t a lot of fantasy to it. The focus was more on the FMC and her husbands and the story of how they all ended up in the present. It does end on a cliffhanger and I’m curious to see where it goes.

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I cannot wait to read more of her books. At the beginning, I was afraid that I was going to hate this book because there is some lore (backstory) that you have to read in order to understand the rest of the book. But this is a story of instant connection, so while Astrid doesn't remember what her life was like before waking up in a hospital, her heart and soul remember.

Such a fun premise I wish it was longer! And the ending was so abrupt but perfect set-up for the next book. I just wish we got more of the men's personalities. Can't wait to see Astrid with her Viking memories and current day memories coexisting.

What would you do to save the ones you love? Astrid the FMC and the 4 MMCs of this story are faced with this question. This story was sad, showed how love can last forever and was spicy! The ending left my jaw on the floor.

Legend of the Witch is an unusual blend of Vikings, witchcraft, time travel, and love. I was very intrigued by the idea of a Viking, witch, BA shield maiden, and her loyal and loving warriors. After horrific events, Astrid casts a spell that leads to her men finding her almost 1000 years, and she doesn't remember anything except through dreams. This story is about the love and loyalty of Astrid's men, searching across time to regain their love and hopefully have a chance to go back and right past wrongs. There is so much history and world-building, with plenty of spice. It is an interesting journey, and I cannot wait for what happens to Astrid and her guys following that cliffhanger!
