The breathtaking conclusion to the mega-bestselling Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan, now a graphic novel!
Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.
The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might be able to stop a war between the two camps.
The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

there were definitely some questionable choices made in what scenes they chose to leave out and what scenes they chose to put in. They left out all of Reina’s backstory in Puerto Rico and the fight with the hunters and the Amazon which really waters down her final battle with Orion and they also took out the whole misogyny thing that was happening there which again just watered it down. They also chose to leave out Frank’s reunion with the greek part of his family.
This was GREAT!! I adored the artwork, everyone looked so cute and expressive. I especially loved the designs for Hazel, Nico, and Piper. My favorite parts were Nico and Reyna's friendship, and Piper being the MVP. I also love how this was the start of Solangelo for the graphic novels. <3
I know they had to cut a lot to fit everything into a graphic novel, but they cut out my two favorite lines!! Reyna's line to Nico: "'We had one home. Now we have two" and Nico's "you're not my type". But that doesn't mean it was a bad adaptation, far from it! This made me remember how much I love these books and these characters. I really hope they adapt Magnus Chase or Trials of Apollo next.
