I was supposed to blend into the background, scope the place out, and maybe—maybe—find a rich man willing to help a broke college girl in need.
I never expected him.
Roman Wolfe doesn’t offer help. He takes.
The second his dark, possessive gaze locks on me, I know I’m in trouble. He doesn’t ask my name. He doesn’t care about my past. All he wants to know is one how fast can I belong to him?
One month. That’s what he offers. One month as his—in his bed, in his penthouse, in his control—and he’ll wipe out my debt like it never existed.
I should say no.
But then he touches me. And suddenly, I forget what no even means.
USA Today bestselling author Emma Bray writes intense, steamy romances with possessive alpha males who’ll stop at nothing to claim the women they want. Emma’s instalove stories are filled with heat, passion and happily ever afters.
Being owned is literal in this book. She needs her bills paid, everything in her life is a mess and she needs money fast. Roman takes one look at her and needs to possess her. The FMC is whiny and borderline obnoxious. The story line is good. I really like Roman but had a very hard time staying engaged with this one.

Delilah is in desperate need, she needs money to pay the bill, her life is a mess. Her friend suggests go to club and maybe she will find a rich man. Roman is the man, he steps in and lets say may have stalked her. He is obsessed and want her to be his in every way. Delilah may be a bit whiny and I wanted to shake her . There is obsession, owning and obeying and under it all romance.

Could have been good - but the dialogue is overly repetitive - sex, complain about him 'owning her' then sex again. Please create an actual plot. The heroine knew what she was signing up for - but yet still complained and moaned about it, and we are supposed to believe she is an intelligent women - give over !

If there’s one word that I think sums up Delilah, the female lead of this novel, it’s chaotic. She’s a walking contradiction: a fiercely independent PhD student radiating women’s lib energy one minute, and desperate enough to sell herself to stay afloat and avoid eviction the next. When a friend drags her to a club designed to pair struggling women with wealthy benefactors, Delilah catches the attention of billionaire Roman Wolfe—and everything spirals from there. Roman offers her a one-month arrangement, though “offer” feels generous. What unfolds reads less like a negotiation and more like coercion: one month to be his, completely, in every way that counts. The setup promised a deliciously dark romance, but that momentum fizzled almost as soon as the ink dried on Delilah’s contract. Her constant pushback, despite knowing exactly what she agreed to, quickly wore thin. Her repeated refrains of “I need space,” “I need time to process,” and the endlessly circular “Why me?” became grating rather than sympathetic. Roman, meanwhile, was obsessed and that’s putting it lightly. His fixation on Delilah runs far deeper, and far longer, than initially suggested. Yet for all the possessiveness, his motivation isn’t purely about control. As he tells her, “This isn’t just about control or possession, Delilah. This is about completion. You fulfill something in me I didn’t know was missing. And I…. I give you what you’ve always needed but never admitted wanting. Structure. Protection. Absolute devotion, paired with absolute demand.” It’s an arresting sentiment, and one of the book’s stronger moments. I appreciated that despite his domineering presence, Roman was allowed vulnerability; those glimpses of emotional exposure add much-needed texture to his character. There’s something undeniably compelling about Emma’s stories that keeps me coming back, even when the execution falters. Unfortunately, familiar issues resurface here: repetitive dialogue, recycled scenes, and continuity hiccups where events seem to happen, then happen again a chapter or two later. Still, the potential is absolutely there. With a sharper editor, these stories could truly shine and despite my frustrations, I remain very much a fan. Delilah is drowning. Rent's overdue, tuition’s unpaid, and she’s one step from losing everything. One night at an exclusive club is supposed to be her way out. A quiet way to find help. Instead, she catches the eye of Roman, a billionaire who doesn’t offer second chances. He takes what he wants.
He gives her thirty days. Live in his penthouse. Follow his rules. Submit. In return, he’ll wipe her debt and rewrite her future. What starts as survival turns into something darker, something she can't walk away from. He doesn’t just want her body. He wants her obedience. Her trust. Her everything.
Delilah swears she won’t lose herself. But Roman knows exactly how to unravel her. Every command pulls her deeper. Every touch strips her bare. What began as control starts shifting into something neither of them expected, something messy, intense, and real.
As the lines between power and partnership blur, Delilah has to decide what choice really looks like. Roman built an empire by staying untouchable. Now he’s ready to burn it all down to keep her.
Delilah grows from survival mode to strength, learning to trust and love without losing herself. Roman shifts from cold and controlling to fiercely loyal and emotionally open. Together, they become something raw and transformative, a bond forged through surrender, trust, and desire.
A dark, steamy, age gap, forced proximity, possessive billionaire romance with a desperate heroine and a dominant hero. It explores power, control, intimacy, emotional craving, agency, identity, and the kind of love that devours and rebuilds. It's about surrender that becomes choice, obsession that becomes devotion, and possession that turns into something worth keeping.
The Elevator Pitch: A broke college girl steps into a secretive club and leaves owned by a billionaire who never takes no for an answer. Their thirty-day deal spirals into something darker, where control turns addictive and obsession becomes impossible to escape. Dark, steamy, and emotionally charged, it’s a power-play romance where surrender becomes something deeper.

Owned by the Billionaire: A Possessive Billionaire Romance promises a high-stakes, dark take on the “rich guy rescues (and… owns?) struggling girl” trope — but for me, it only half-delivered. The setup is dramatic: our heroine is drowning in bills and desperate for a lifeline, and Roman swoops in… with a take it or else kind of offer that’s literally about possession rather than partnership. The premise grabbed my attention, but the execution was a tougher read. The female lead often comes off as whiny or borderline obnoxious, which made it hard to stay fully invested in her journey, and that “possessive billionaire” energy veers into controlling-jerk territory more than swoon-worthy romance. The chemistry between the leads never really clicked for me — there’s tension, sure, but not the kind that made my heart race or made me root for them as a couple. The storyline itself has potential and there were moments I appreciated the author exploring power dynamics and emotional vulnerability, but frankly I kept skimming forward more than savoring scenes. Roman has shades of a compelling alpha, yet without deeper emotional grounding or believable growth, he came across as more “psychopath” than “protective love interest,” which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. If you’re very into ultra-possessive billionaires and don’t mind a heroine who feels more chaotic than captivating, this might be a quick, guilty-pleasure read. But for me it missed the mark on engagement and genuine connection. Verdict: An ambitious premise with a problematic execution — interesting idea, but the characters and their chemistry didn’t quite hold me.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Owned by the Billionaire (Obsessed Billionaires) by Emma Bray
Owned by the Billionaire delivers exactly what it promises: high-heat, unapologetically possessive romance with fast pacing and intense chemistry that hooks you from the first page.
Delilah’s desperation feels real and immediate—overdue rent, unpaid tuition, and no safety net in sight. Her choice to step into the club isn’t romanticized; it’s survival. That grounding makes the story work, even as it leans fully into the dark, obsessive billionaire fantasy.
Roman Wolfe is peak possessive alpha. Cold, commanding, and completely unapologetic about what he wants, he doesn’t pretend to be a savior—he’s a taker, and the book never loses sight of that. His fixation on Delilah is instant and overwhelming, and if you enjoy dominance-forward billionaires who blur the line between protection and control, Roman delivers in spades.
The one-month arrangement is classic but effective, creating constant tension as attraction deepens and emotions start to complicate the deal. The chemistry is intense, the power imbalance is front and center, and the pacing keeps the story moving without dragging.
This isn’t a slow-burn or a subtle romance—it’s bold, indulgent, and intentionally over-the-top in the best way. Fans of possessive billionaires, instalove dynamics, and morally gray heroes will fly through this book.
If you’re looking for a quick, addictive read that leans hard into obsession, control, and scorching attraction, Owned by the Billionaire absolutely hits the mark. 🔥💎.

Delilah Monroe has a negative bank balance. She has three days to get together two months of back rent or she will be evicted. She works three jobs and goes to graduate school. She has to pay almost four thousand dollars to the school, or they will automatically withdraw her from the program. Her best friend, Jessie, calls and tells her to dress up. Jessie takes Delilah to Obsidian, an exclusive club, to find a rich benefactor.
Roman Wolfe is the CEO of Wolfe Enterprises. He has never been known to show up at Obsidian, but he walks in that night. He immediately locks eyes with Delilah. He takes her to a private room to talk. He wants her and knows that she is there to find a benefactor. He makes her tell him in detail what brought her to Obsidian. He also asks exactly what she will do for her benefactor. He wants to know her boundaries.
Roman wants Delilah to move in with him and be at his beck and call for a month. In exchange, he will pay off all Delilah’s debts and give her an additional twenty thousand dollars at the end of the thirty days. Roman gives Delilah sixty seconds to decide. She says yes.
I loved that Roman saw how strong Delilah was and still wanted her. He understood how much she had been through in her twenty-six years. I knew the month together would be interesting.

This is definitely one of the most intense Emma Bray books! Btw, love the cover. The writing is great, I got drawn in and quickly. I empathize d with the h and when these H was introduced I was intrigued because this girl was at her limits.
He would have her for an amount and show her something new.
They would see what they would see but he already studied her and knew what he wanted from her. Now he is maddening at first and at second and third. He is controlling and he made me so mad. He is a different male with some control issues. I felt so bad for her previous life and he helped but also complicated her life. There are so many things to spend money on and having to choose between a roof over your head or getting an education shouldn't be a thing. My heart broke for her. Not for not, could her friend not have loaned her some money?! Just saying. Desperate times led her to a man who was a bit much but he did love her in his own way. She was scared of his ways but eventually gave into her feelings. Not the healthiest of relationships but this was different and entertaining.

Holy. Epic. Hotness! My poor tablet needs a major cool-off after reading this book. It was so good. I was hooked from page one.
I'll be honest, though, I wasn't sure what to expect, given there are many books out there dealing with the same material, and there's only so many different paths you can take, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the direction the author took this. This book is an absolute must read!
I loved that even though Delilah and Roman's beginning was very unconventional and more like a transaction, given he "purchased" her at the Obsidian with the stipulation she live with him and basically give all of herself to him for thirty days in exchange for him supporting her financially, it didn't control the narrative of their relationship, how it developed or the bond they formed. And goodness, Roman was one hot alpha male. The spice was very much spicing, absolute chef's kiss, and the plot was utter perfection!
It's a short read, but it packs a big, beautiful punch. There isn't really anything I didn't love about this book. It checked all my boxes and then some. Can not recommend this enough! Without question, five stars!
Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Delilah for lack of a better way of explaining is a hot mess with capital letters so a HOT MESS a PhD student who want to be independent but isn’t do so good with being independent but she about to be evicted, bills aren’t being paid, she isn’t sure what to do, and her friend makes her go to some club with her where she can find a wealthy friend with benefits for a month she walks away with her bills paid. Roman sexy as all get out billionaire who attends the club where one woman has caught his attention, he offers a deal one month to be his where she agrees to be his, please him as the contract indicates, and he would take care of her in return. But the moment she agrees of course her independence gets in the way the push / pull starts but he wants her to see her life is a hot mess because she needs control, balance, structure, protection all the things he is offering but will she hear him, will she see it his way, can she allow herself that grace, where are they headed?
Owned by the Billionaire is a steamy romance that follows MFC Delilah who has agreed to accompany her friend to the Obsidian Social club, a place only for the elite. Drowning in debt and on the verge of eviction she has no options other than finding a wealthy benefactor. Fortunately or not she comes to the attention of Billionaire CEO Roman Wolfe who makes her an offer she can’t refuse. The stage has been set between them for a one month deal where she belongs only to him. This is going to get interesting! Over the top obsessive would be how to best describe Roman and when some revelations about just how long he’s been “stalking” Delilah come to light it brings the game to next level. But it may be too late for her because she is already catching those feelings. A good story that is nicely written, and flows with intensity, and passion it delivers a never boring escapist read. HEA.

3.5 stars for me. I have contrasting opinions about this book to be honest. It started off with a lot of promise, we have the FMc down on her luck, in debt and with no family to support her until her friend suggests going to a club where she could meet rich guys. The rich guy being billionaire Roman Wolfe, one look at her and he becomes obsessed, wanting to own her for 30 days and he pays all her debts off. I enjoyed the darkness of this story at the beginning but it just fizzled away. The FMc started off strong but she became whiny and contradictory- she liked being owned by him one day then argued she wasn’t his property the next. A lot of the narrative was repetitive. I did really like how Romans vulnerability was portrayed, nice amount of heat too.
Billionaire Romance. Delilah is a young woman struggling to make ends meet. Between her studies and rent, she's in debt. Her school threatens to expel her if she doesn't pay the remaining tuition. Her friend decides to take her to the Obsidian Club, where some shady dealings take place, hoping to help her get out of her financial difficulties. She doesn't expect, however, to meet the handsome but enigmatic Romane, a wealthy businessman. Romane is a rich CEO who has come to the Obsidian Club to meet Delilah. He hopes to strike a deal with her to fulfill his secret desires. Will Delilah and Romane have a beautiful love story, or will Delilah refuse Roman's offer….

Roman Wolfe is a billionaire with a mission. He has wanted Delilah since the first time he saw her. Delilah is struggling to pay her bills and her long time friend takes her to Obsidian a club where Billionaire's find a companion. This is where she meets Roman. This story is very well written. I love that Emma shows that even a powerful and successful man can have vulnerabilities. Something no one else ever sees. Until his forever woman is in his life. This is a very wonderful story. With a very happy ending. Emma once again does not disappoint. I highly recommend this steamy Billionaire Romance.
This is book number 1 of the Obsessed Billionaires series and focuses on Rowan and Delilah. Delilah is struggling with crippling debt and is in desperate need of money. This leads her to meeting Roman and having her life flipped upside down in a heartbeat. Roman is completely obsessed with Delilah and is determined to possess every part of her. They have some navigating to do within their relationship but Roman is determined to make Delilah his, for good. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

She is desperate needs of funding, or she is going to lose everything so when her friend suggested a club, Deliah took her chance and boy did things change. Roman takes one look at her and knows that she is the woman he is looking for and their path begins although Deliah is hesitant at first. Their connection is intriguing because Roman comes off as obsessive and she is petulant. Will their connection lead them along the path to happiness.

Wow! I really enjoyed Owned by the Billionaire by Emma Bray. Because of mounting bills, a negative checking account and threat of eviction Delilah Monroe was desperate. Just when she is at her lowest, her friend convinces her to join her at an exclusive club only for the super rich. Could she really agree to becoming a billionaire's companion? As soon as Roman sees Delilah at the Obsidian Club he knows she must be his. Spend thirty days with the sexy billionaire and the will take care of her debts. If you enjoy dark and steamy romance you will like their story.
I love a good possessive alpha troupe, but Roman and Delilah's story was just too much for me. He completely took away her autonomy of her own life and decisions. He manipulated her at every turn and called it love in the end. I kept reading hoping he would change, but he never did. In the real world, we would tell her the run as fast as she could from his abusive and controlling behavior. I sincerely wished she had permanently. The premise has such potential, but I didn't like the execution. Other readers might enjoy it though.
Really enjoyed this book, it was very easy to get hooked right away.
My only small issue was that Delilah was falling for Roman and admitted it quite a few times but yet every chapter it felt like she was pushing back even when she admits she loves him. Just felt it kept repeating over.
Otherwise a great book to read.

Character driven and they were so very appealing and complex and perfectly steamy together. Plot was well written and straightforward. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

One month. Thirty days. That’s how long Delilah Monroe needs to last for her last chance at financial salvation, because she will lose all she has in a matter of days if she refuses Roman Wolfe’s offer. But as the days tick by, Delilah realizes that there is more than meets the eye with Roman besides the gilded cage she lives in…it is his heart she wants more with every boundary he tests. Desperation enables possession in this engaging read!
loved it !! love Delilah !!! and Roman ? you decide... this is their story... a fast paced rom/drama ... Delilah needs money fast... she's in debt up to her eyeballs...! almost evicted.. student loans and more... then, she goes to the Obsidian Club with her friend in the hopes of finding a rich benefactor... I was excited when I read the preface and some of the reviews for this book - what a GIANT disappointment, I almost DNF, but tortured my way through to the end as I had hope.
Delilah and Roman ugh, where to begin, the contract had such potential, then she opens her mouth and it just never stops, she was so whiny.
Was he possessive - yes, but that did not bother me with this type of book, the story line just never got going. 2.5 Stars.
This is a shorter story but packs so much plot, story, and growth for the Roman and Delilah, and I loved it. Never a dull moment, a few twists from Roman during the course of the month, and a lot of love. Plenty of spice but a lot of layers to both Roman and Delilah and it was fantastic getting to read them uncover the next layer of one another. Loved this story and the HEA.

Roman is compulsive, possessive, and ruthless. Delilah is in desperate need of money. When Roman proposes a 30-day contract for her to become his, she is hesitant but caves. A dark romance with some lighter elements.

Sleep won’t come easily once you begin reading this book. I started reading it after dinner and when I tried to put it down to go to sleep, I found myself right back up turning my kindle pages. Delilah and Roman’s story struck me on so many levels. I found the first chapter to be realistic and heartbreaking, but as you keep reading you will find the silver lining start to show up.
The story is slow and repetitive. I didn't feel the connection between Delilah and Roman. I did like the character Roman, though. Delilah on the other hand annoyed me.
I do believe that other people might enjoy this book, but for me it was too slow and repetitive (and Delilah way too whiny).

This is a well written and captivating read that is darker than what I've read from Bray. Our main characters are Delilah and Roman. Delilah is desperate for funds and her friend suggests visiting a club to meet a rich man. Roman takes one look and is obsessed.
