atmospheric and action packed
David Filla is a master of pacing and characterization. Although I would’ve preferred a story centered around one single character, such as Alphonso, the multiple perspectives work.
A body, a murder suspect, and tangled threads of corruption, had me traipsing about the Louisiana Bayouu alongside detective Alphonse Bordeaux, a crippled officer pining for a quieter pace of life.
A fine read for fans of character driven, hardboiled detective novels!
