A life saved. A boundary tested. Falling for him was never the plan.
Doctor Silas Montgomery doesn’t do distractions. As an ER surgeon, his job comes first—always. But after saving the life of a young police officer, he finds himself haunted by a connection he never asked for.
Officer Terran Bishop thought moving to a small town would mean fewer risks. Instead, one mistake puts him face-to-face with the intense doctor who stitched him back together—and awakened something neither of them expected.
As desire grows and boundaries blur, Silas must decide whether to keep hiding behind his work… or finally let someone in.
Evie Riley believes too much time spent at the beach is barely enough. She enjoys spending time puttering in the garden, cooking yummy things for her family, and has a quirky personality, described by her partner as ranging from cute to deadly, depending on her blood-chocolate levels.
Evie crafts steamy gay male romance filled with all the edgy angst, or dark and gritty romantic suspense where her men must overcome difficult obstacles and may find love along the way while dishing out their own brand of justice.
Evie spends her nights writing bad boys in love, and her days wrangling the sweet boys she loves.
I was so excited knowing this is Silas‘s book. And I really like him which really surprises me. He’s come across as always being in that bachelor struggling with his two friends finding partners so I expected more of a fight from Silas to keep being the bachelor that everyone wants. But that all changes when a police officer is bought in after a call that ended with him being stabbed. Officer Terran Bishop had a lot going on in his life. He hadn’t long became a police officer. He helped raise his niece with his sister after their Home life was not good. Terran and his partner had been called out on a domestic assistance call. And this ended with him being stabbed and he was so angry with himself because he knew that he would leave his sister and niece alone. Thankfully he was saved they managed to get him to the OR in time for Dr Montgomery to repair the damage that had been done. But something had changed in Silas when he spent time with Terran. It confused him and that weirdly he went with the flow trying to keep a Doctor patient relationship but there is an instant attraction between these two. Can Silas fight the urge to give Terran everything?? I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really liked both characters. I think I had got the wrong image from the previous two books because Silas is honest he doesn’t do it to hurt or be cruel. He just says the truth. And Terran really brings out that soft side of Silas the passion between these two is off the charts. Between the sexy lingerie and body jewellery their connection is strong and the chemistry and the banter I thoroughly enjoyed Terran trying to find out more information on Silas.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tender, intense, and emotionally satisfying
Loved it. Silas is one of those romances that sneaks up on you emotionally and then lands straight in the chest.
Silas Montgomery is all sharp edges and self-control—a brilliant ER surgeon who hides behind long hours and rigid boundaries because it’s safer than wanting something he might lose. Terran Bishop is his perfect opposite: steady, sincere, and quietly brave. From the moment Silas saves Terran’s life, the connection between them feels inevitable, even as Silas fights it with everything he has.
What really shines here is the emotional restraint. Silas doesn’t fall easily—and that makes every crack in his armor matter. His resistance isn’t frustrating; it’s believable. You feel how much Terran unsettles him, how deeply he cares long before he’s willing to admit it. Terran, meanwhile, is patient without being passive. He knows what he wants, and watching him stand his ground while still respecting Silas’s boundaries is incredibly satisfying.
The pacing is smooth, the chemistry is warm and magnetic, and the small-town setting adds just the right amount of softness around the tension. This isn’t a flashy romance—it’s intimate, character-driven, and full of quiet moments that linger.
By the time Silas finally stops running, the payoff is so worth it. This is a story about choosing connection over isolation, love over fear, and letting someone see you fully.
Heartfelt, romantic, and beautifully done. Highly recommend for readers who love slow-burn emotional depth with a strong HEA. 💙.

Great series. I love Silas and now I love Terran. Terran is a rookie police officer who has just moved to town. Silas is a surgeon at the hospital and has been friends with Avery and Marlow forever. Both Avery and Marlow have found thier loves. Now it is Silas's time. Little did he know when he was is his shift that Terran would be on his OR table and Silas has to save him. But who really was saving who? Silas has always been closed off and a loner and probably would be for life. Except Terran comes into his life.

"Silas" is book three in the Billionaire Bad Boys and Blue Collar Men series by Evie Riley. I have absolutely loved all three books in this series. There is an invisible tether between Silas and Terran. As much as he'd probably like to, Silas cannot explain or deny it. Evie Riley continues to deliver characters and stories that pull you in and hold onto you. I have read a lot of books by this author and I am never disappointed. I always look forward to their books and cannot wait for more.

In the next book of this series, Terran is a rookie cop brought into the ER for Dr. Silas Montgomery to save. In surgery under his uniform, Silas discovers Terran dresses femme and it triggers his fascination with all things Terran. As a following to "Avery" and "Marlow", "Silas" is hot and spicy, perfect for the grumpy, uptight guy. Their banter is delightful and the steam level is perfect. My only criticism is it did end rather abruptly. I received a copy of this through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.
Explosive! Silas, is an ER Doc and totally focused on his work. He has no personal life. Terran, is a police officer transplant who thought small town life was calm and safe. His visit to the ER shows he overestimated small town calm. While treating Terran, Silas learns a few things that peak his curiosity and opens a few doors. When they walk through, life gets adventurous and hot! Evie, gives us the nicest courtships with the most amazing main characters. Terran and Silas, are a delight. Great flow, nice cover art, good story! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Silas, who has always been blunt and unapologetically honest, finds himself thrown off balance by Terran. He tries to keep things professional, but the attraction between them is instant and impossible to ignore. Terran brings out a softer, deeply emotional side of Silas that we haven’t seen before, and watching that unfold was one of my favorite parts of the book. Their chemistry is intense — passionate, playful, and full of banter that made me smile. The lingerie, the body jewelry, the way they push and pull at each other emotionally and physically… it all works. Their bond feels real, strong, and beautifully unexpected. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is book three following Avery and Marlow three steadfast friends who get surprised by love. With Silas he is a very focused ER surgeon, and teases his two friends he will not fall into a relationship. While working in the ER, Terran a police officer comes in injured and Silas saves him. There is an almost immediate connection. Terran who wears unique undergarments, captures Silas’s imagination. This book is romantic, spicy full of fun playful teasing and funny.
This is book three in the series called Billionaire Bad Boys and Blue Collar Men and this time we get Silas and Terran’s story which is another great addition, their connection is undeniable as is their chemistry, I’ve lobed all three books so far and would highly recommend them.
Ugh. I really feel like this author has a lot of potential but dear sweet baby Jesus can we TRY to get to know each other first before possessive and obsessive start showing. Also, so much hinting at kinks and fantasies but absolutely no showing.
Silas learns that saving Terran costs him more than he bargains for. He can't stop thinking about the young officer. When the two finally get together sparks fly! I love this book.

Silas is the third book in the Billionaire Bad Boys & Blue Collar Men series and is best read in order. I loved this book just as I have loved the rest of this series. Terran is just what Silas needs to shake things up a little bit and I enjoyed this slow burn story from start to finish.
Silas is an ER surgeon and he doesn't do relationships. When he saves a police officer named Terran's life things start to change. He can't seem to stay away from him. I really enjoyed this book.
