Captain Jacob Brown of the United Earth Marine Corps knows this fight has been coming. He knows that they are coming.
They call themselves the Synod. They are everywhere… and nowhere. They are the enemy that rises from the ashes of the old order and threatens to bring the entire quadrant under their thumb. All they need to secure total victory is a secret, ancient power Jacob’s family has guarded for years.
Now he will risk everything in a winner-takes-all gamble that will see the Synod destroyed, or ascendant.
The Last Dance is the explosive conclusion to the bestselling Terran Scout Fleet series.
This 8 book series has been a lot of fun to follow. The characters grew on me and it was sad to have to say goodbye to so many. As Joshua pointed out time does march on and normal people age. On the other hand the Omega Misfits will continue and Jacob and Tin Man are sure to pop in or even perhaps have a few solo adventures. Speaking of which... There sure seems to be some Murph/Whitney tales hidden out there somewhere.
“The Last Dance (Terran Scout Fleet Book 8)” is the lackluster and overwhelmingly lifeless finale of the same series. It shows all the signs of an author limply going through the motions, depending on writing software templates, speech-to-text, flaccid proofreading, and a storyline hobbled by the author’s apparent rush to deliver content prior of contract obligations.

The conclusion of scout fleet team Obsidian, and the conclusion of scout fleet itself. Everybody is after the Noxu AI and who gets it will upset he balance of the quadrant. However Jacob with help of Jason have something else planned, but not all plans end perfect, ending with a antimatter finish...
I do not usually leave reviews but I felt compelled to make a note and share. I just simply could not put the series down without having an understanding of when I would return to it. The action and character development was enough to hold my attention, interest and excitement.
I thoroughly enjoy this series, as well as the Omega Force series. Well written, not overly complicated, military science fiction that also has solid character development. And quite frankly a series that I look forward to each and every time a new novel is published. Thanks Joshua!!
This was a nice way to end the series and like one of Captain Burke's plans, it had plenty of chances to fail at every turn but ended successfully. Maybe we'll hear from Jacob Brown and Tin Man in the future?
This was i believe the best of the series. I had been waiting for it's release. Got drawn into the story and read it too quickly. If this is the end of Jacob's journey, you closed it well.
I really enjoyed this book. I hope it's not the last we see of Jacob & Tin man. As usual there are twists, turns and humour in the story. Cannot wait for next one. Which will be the Omega crew I imagine..
Really enjoyed this series. Hate to see it end but understand. Look forward to.more Omega Force in the future. If you like military style sci-fi, recommend this. It's a great series.
What a great ride this book was. I could not put it down!! I'm sad that this was the last book. I was hoping to read about more Jacob/ Tin man adventures. The lead up to the end was great!
As the Terran Scout Team series comes to a climax, Captain Jacob Brown and Tin Man aim to stop the Synod once and for all. Assisted by old and new allies, they hatch a dangerous plan, that they may not walk away from. Good final book and good series, I'm sure they will pop up again.
This was my first time reading and not listening to one of Josh's books and I couldn't put it down it was so good and so moving and such a great ending to Terran Scout Fleet! Thanks Josh!
