What if your last chance at life depended on learning one final lesson?

In " Another Life Lesson" , a beautifully written magical realism novel for adults, readers are taken on an emotional journey filled with guardian angels, past lives, friendship, grief, healing, and hope.

Celeste , a Guardian Angel (in training), is simply trying to do her best. She’s desperate to help Norah, her first assigned Soul, learn her final Life Lesson. A Soul only gets twenty-five lives, after all, and, well, Norah is on her twenty-fifth. If Norah never learns her final Lesson, she won’t move on to the afterlife. And Celeste cannot let that happen. When the Council denies Celeste the chance to go down to Earth and shake Norah out of her slump, she does what any great Guadian-in-training would: She defies their orders and goes anyway.

Norah has been on a downward spiral ever since her best friend Sam passed away, but when she meets an unusual new friend named Celeste, Norah finds herself stepping out of her comfort zone. Until she starts to see her past lives.

Celeste must figure out why—without divulging who she really is to Norah. Only, it doesn’t take long for Norah to discover that Celeste may not be who she seems...

A heartwarming tale of friendship, loss, and love that explores the heaviness of grief and how powerful our relationships with others can be. All with a touch of (angel) magic.

Another Life Lesson is a heartfelt magical realism novel that beautifully explores grief, friendship, and the idea that every life holds an important lesson. The story follows Celeste, a guardian angel in training, who is determined to help her assigned Soul, Norah, learn her final Life Lesson before it’s too late. With Norah already on her twenty fifth life, the stakes are high if she doesn’t learn the lesson, she won’t be able to move on to the afterlife.

Another Life Lesson by Michelle Campbell is an inspiring and thought-provoking read. The story is full of relatable experiences and valuable insights that make you reflect on life, choices, and growth.

I really enjoyed how the author weaves life lessons into the narrative without it feeling preachy — it’s engaging, heartfelt, and easy to connect with.

A meaningful read that I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a story that combines wisdom with emotion.

I dare you to try and put this magically heartwarming book down! Perfect for any individual or book club with wonder in their souls!

I immediately fell in love with Celeste & Norah as much for their misguided neurotic similarities as their quirky and strong willed differences. These two lost souls seem to compliment each other perfectly and the connection they share seems to make one another whole.

In addition a community of fun, supportive and sometimes mischievous characters make this a must read for anyone with even a hint of wonder in their mind, heart or soul.

With the intrigue & psyche of “The Afterlife Therapist” and the marvelous beauty of “What Dreams May Come”, when you finish this book you will feel as if you have truly learned Another Life Lesson…

Ahhhh! So cute!!

Okay! Where do I even start?!? Celeste reminds me so much of myself in so many ways, ha ha! She goes to earth to help her little assigned soul, Norah (who I also relate to entirely too much!) the book gave me vibes of like “The Good Place” and “Upload” on Netflix. Now, the book is not like those shows, just gave me the same feelings that those shows gave! Celeste has to keep her distance so she doesn’t reveal who she is to Norah. But, Norah can’t get her act together and Celeste needs to interfere. I love the relationships that unfold in this book. I love every single thing, the emotional roller coaster, the revelations, the love and acceptance, the relatable moments, just everything. I’m terrible with words, so let me tell you how this left me feeling..I did not want to stop reading it. I found myself fully immersed. I wanted more, I couldn’t put it down, I fell in love with the characters. All of them! I loved the ending. I cannot recommend this book enough. It is so, so, so good! Wow. The back blurb had me excited, but the first page had me hooked!! This is a fantastic read!

I really liked this book. It’s a comforting story that inspires reflection and growth. The characters stay with you even after you finish. It’s an honest look at people’s less than best moments with compassion and warmth all while entertaining at the same time.

222. While most largely regard this as an angel number, this is the page number in Another Life Lesson that made me cry.

305. An unassuming number, but this is the page number that invoked a sense of longing as the book came to a close, sealing Celeste and Norah within its pages once more.

Michelle Campbell has an undeniable and inexplicable way of telling this story. It’s not often that a novel can bring tears to my eyes- but this one did. Without saying too much, just know that it’s so beautiful. I absolutely fell in love with Celeste and Norah. Norah was incredibly animated, and her pain was palpable to me as a reader. And Celeste? She’s the friend we all need in life.

This is a moving story about life, loss, forgiveness, pain, and friendship. This is a book that sits with you, that’s leaves you to ponder your own reality and the ubiquitous universe we know little about.

Thank you to The Indie Author Insider for giving me the incredible opportunity to read this book, a book I may not have come across otherwise. And thank you to Michelle Campbell for unapologetically sharing her story with the world.

I had the absolute time of my life reading this heartwarming story by Michelle Campbell! Seriously, when I say heartwarming—I mean it.

Celeste, a guardian angel, has the most genuine and loving relationship with her assigned Soul, Norah. She is bright, charming, and caring to her core. I would read 400 pages of Celeste just saying sweet things.

And Norah is incredibly relatable, having gone through many hard times in her life. She never comes off as whiny but instead real and HUMAN. Through her eyes, you get to explore what it means to be flawed and yet still capable and deserving of love.

The author’s skill at writing grief and heartache in a way that is understandable and light is phenomenal. I was rooting for our characters and slowly watching them heal, and it was so beautiful to witness.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone in search of a joyful, unique story full of heart—and a touch of magic. 5/5, do yourselves a favor and get your copy!

The most charming book I’ve read in a while. I love the bubbly, light-hearted Celeste chapters balanced with the raw, grounded Norah chapters.

I started this book just having fun with the concept—guardian angels, past lives, etc.—but Norah’s story quickly drew me in. The emotions explored in her story were heavy at times, but the author does a great job at using those emotions to expand Norah’s character and make her flawed and human and relatable.

On the flip side, just about every line of dialogue from Celeste made me laugh, and I loved everything about her. She really helped keep the story light-hearted when it was needed!

For such a character-focused book, there were some clever plot twists that completely caught me by surprise. Such a fun story layered with wisdom and love. A must read!!

Either I’m not looking hard enough, or there aren’t many fiction books that explore the idea of past lives, so I really love the originality of Another Life Lesson! At its core, this is a love story to those we’ve lost, to those we find, and, maybe most importantly, to ourselves.

Campbell’s exploration of grief felt very honest. There’s no pandering—just the acceptance that grief isn’t something that can be ignored or fixed, but rather just is. That part of the story resonated the most to me.

I adored Celeste and Norah’s friendship. They both jumped from the page in their own ways and I think the author did an amazing job at making their voices distinct, which isn’t always easy to do!

Definitely check this book out.

P.S. I LOVE the cover. It’s stunning and is so reflective of the heart of the story.

I did not want this book to end!!

I will admit I went to bed far too late every single night I read Another Life Lesson simply because I found it too difficult to put down. I had no idea how invested I would become as the pages quickly dwindled. The lives of Norah and Celeste (and Sam, Chris, and Barb, too) had me so engrossed and eager to see how their stories would evolve. The author is poetic, and the often witty remarks in the dialogue had me laughing. I'll be gifting this book to loved ones as well, as it's such a beautiful story about life, the opportunities we have to grow, and the unknown possibilities of the future.

I'm holding on to hope that a sequel is possible in the future. I want more!

I loved this book about a guardian angel in training trying her best to do right for her “person” and fumbling as she goes.

Loved all the characters! Especially the angel, Celeste, and her charge, Norah. Both were so lovable, well meaning, and flawed in their own way.

Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I truly enjoyed the story of Celeste and Norah. Celeste is a guardian angel in training and Norah is her first sole to watch over and guide. A story of how friendship and love can help guide us through all of our life lessons. A definite must read.

Another Life Lesson by Michelle Campbell is one of those rare, quietly magical stories that sneaks up on you — and by the final page, you realize it’s done something to your heart that you didn’t expect.
The premise is so clever: Celeste is a Guardian Angel in training, desperate to help Norah — her very first assigned Soul — learn her final Life Lesson. The story that is equal parts warm and witty.
Campbell balances the whimsical with the heartfelt. The dual perspectives — one from a celestial realm, one from the messy, grief-stricken earth — give the story a rich emotional feeling. Celeste is an absolute hoot: eager, impulsive, and deeply caring in a way that feels refreshingly human for someone who isn’t. And Norah, caught in a downward spiral after losing her best friend feels achingly real — many will recognize in themselves or in someone they love.
The friendship that blossoms between these two women is the beating heart of the novel. I loved it! As Norah begins to confront her past lives, the story deepens in many ways.
This is a lighthearted story that blends humor and magic — the kind of book that makes you laugh in one chapter and think in the next.
If you’re a fan of stories that explore friendship, second chances, and the idea that some connections transcend lifetimes, Another Life Lesson deserves a spot on your shelf.
