That’s the funny thing about the It’ll hunt you down until you have no choice but to face it.
It wasn’t his life being spared that put everything into perspective. It was hers. But as Ren realizes he can’t fight the pull to Dahlia anymore, the mounting dangers threaten to expose a part of himself she’ll fear.
Surviving the market horde was one thing. Now, barricaded in a house and surrounded by death, Dahlia seeks refuge in the arms of the only man who has ever made her feel safe. Even as his red flags become harder to overlook…
When Vegas becomes an unlikely haven, the clock begins to tick before Ren’s darkest parts are set free—triggered by a world of corruption, crime, and secrets. As they try to ignore growing doubts about each other, Ren and Dahlia’s passion burns at a pace neither could have expected.
"God, the way he says angel. His voice always reminds me of whiskey and honey and oh, so sinful."
I had to take a few days to process my feelings for this one. I absolutely devoured the first book, and I was so lucky to get my hands on this ARC. It is not an understatement to say it consumed me. It had me going to bed at 2am; avoiding work; ditching plans.
This story is one of the most gripping things I've read, and I read a lot of books. It's up there with Bird Box and Jurassic Park! There's suspense, jump scares, genuine danger, sexual tension, and a slow burn love story of two broken people trying to make it in a broken world. If you haven't read book one yet, get your hands on a copy so you can be ready to jump straight into this book when it hits the shelves.
"I would battle the dead and all that survived Earth's wrath for her."
5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Immaculate, no words! lol okay actually I have words… Ren being a VERY dominate I’m going to get shit done and save your life 🥵😮💨😮💨
The anxiety that Delilah suffers from is soooo relatable, she’s still a bad b*tch but shows she human too.
Honestly I'm having a hard time writing a review for this because what I really have to say is that damn AJ Somers did it again and I need the next one like yesterday!! I need spin offs!! I need side stories!! More Please!!!
I'm usually one to avoid zombie related things but these books have me hooked. I picked the first one up on a whim because it felt like something I could make my husband read and slowly start indoctrinating him into the world of spice. Which I successfully have done! (What's more he loved the first one and is currently entrenched in this one at the moment) Safe to say were both enjoying it and getting to have our own little book club
This book picks up immediately where the last one left off. So don't worry you get some instant answers and if you're like me then you've been waiting to find out what happened in that last scene. This book is action action action from get go and what it was leading up to spice wise definitely hit in this one!! The world is getting more complex in this one and we start to see how other people are living and surviving. Unfortunately though, like most good sequels in a trilogy, it does leave you with more questions than answers. which then brings me back to my first statement of I need the next one like yesterday!!
I recommend this series if your in the mood for the zombie apocalypse version of will they/wont they, yearning while running from the dead, and the full cast of characters are great
The pain Ren carries is so heartbreaking i just want him to have happiness. Everything changed the moment his mother & father were killed .
I have been waiting for book 2 to know what happens, especially for Dahlia and ren ive never read a book like this, and I was hooked since book 1.
I've never been a huge zombie anything but the way Aj has written the characters the details of the past & trauma each one has experienced the found family aspect was so beautiful.
And I was hyped af cause ren and his family are Japanese , to see more characters plus interracial relationships.
They were saved but still unsure if they would be safe. i truly hope they are safe.
When i started book 2, it was like I was back in book 1. The chemistry between Ren and Dahlia has me kicking my feet.
Chapter one was damn delicious lol Juan is definitely feeling like a third wheel .
Ren, im still in love with that man .
Those moments he has when he is with dahlia 😍
Lmao, Juan loves to mess with Ren when it comes to Dahlia.
Ugh, Dillon is that damn note .
Lmao, the zenon comment had me cracking up. i love Juan.
They found a dog she just so stinking cute!!! Her name is Valkyrie..
Lord, every time ren n dahlia are together, he melts, and I fall in love all over again.
Chapter 10 was so good 💦 that the way ren was telling her what she did to him, her presence grounds him. It's something he never experienced but never regretting, just he is trying to understand all the feelings he feels for her.
Chapter 11, Ren & Dahlia 💦💦 And hilarious when Hana saw them
Dirk and Hana, oh shit.
I dont trust connor, especially with the company he had with him when they found Dahlia and Ren.
Rei doesn't like that as well .
Ren just gets better and better. Chapter 20, when he wasn't disgusted by her starting period and bleeding onto the bed and truly wanted help her. I felt for her cause that shit head Dillon made her feel like she was so disgusting for having a period .ren is definitely nothing like that trash called Dillon.
The shower scene 😍 ren 😍 💦
Jay was actually sweet to the little boy no no i can not forgive what he did .
Maybe Jay isn't so bad after all .
And Dean and Mira seem to actually want cure, unlike connor they dont wish to use this as power moves.
Ru is just the sweetest kid ever .
What Ren did for Dahlia in chapter 32 was such a sweet surprise. And the way they can't keep their hands off each other is so good.
[ “You’ve given me something I never thought I’d ever have… a chance to learn what it means to care about someone.” His lips are a breath away from mine. “I feel like I found my own personal angel in the depths of hell.” ]
Fuck Klein i knew there something off with him men like him and Dillon never change.
Chivalry in Chaos starts right where Valor Amidst Decay ended.
Got me out here clutching my chest because it's already terrifying in the first five chapters. At this point, I feel like anyone could get bitten or offed.
Loving the slow burn that is Dahlia and Ren. I know the good stuff is coming though.
Are the zombies getting smarter or is Dillon back?
Zenon! 🎶
Valkyrie 🥺
Truly incredible. This was a roller-coaster of emotion. We learned so much about Dahlia and Ren, both as individuals and as whatever they are at this point in their relationship.
Ugh, so much happened that I can't even form the words to describe how amazing this was.
I am ready for book 3 immediately, because holy moly. This was a ride.
Sexy, emotional, scary! Definitely recommend reading this series.
Chaos that was indeed. You're telling me, right to my eyeballs, that I still have to deal w shady people at the end of the world?! WACK! At least Dahlia gets to keep her sweet baby, but d@mn that hatred for Ren is killing me.😩 I cannot wait for book 2. I will be foaming at the mouth until I get it. The secrets, the deception, the betrayal, and the STALKING?! Zombies with brains? I fear this geared up to be my fav book of the year for Apocalyptic x Dystopian. AJ def threw me for a loop and into the ringer and spit me out at the end w that cliffhanger 🥴 These characters are doing their best to survive and thrive w what they have. or lack to have and need to source violently. The growth is steady and planned and perfected. The plot keeps you coming back for more. The 🌶 is 👌🫣✨️.
Um hello? AJ Sommers has done it again! I was absolutely ecstatic to be able to dive into this book early and completely threw myself in head first! I loved every second of the second chapter of the Amongst Desolation series!
There is tension, terror, and sparks are flying in more ways then one! We learn more and more about our main characters, see there emotions laid out, and see how the story evolves as more secrets get unwrapped!
Gah! Once again I got sucked into a zombie romance. AJ Somers absolutely killed it with book 2 in her Amongst Desolation series. I can’t pinpoint any one favorite point in this book, because it was all amazing, but I absolutely adore Val and am glad Dahl Kia keeping her around.
"We live together or die together. There are no other options."
This second book from A.J. Somers was an emotional rollercoaster that I didn't want to get off of. The slow burn was burning even hotter in this one. Whew....the tension between Ren and Dahlia had me on the edge of my seat along with the crazy twists and turns that A.J. threw at us in this one. I devoured this one and immediately wanted more. My only issue is that the 3rd one isn't available already. Thanks to the author for sending me this ARC.
