He wanted revenge. What he got was a war for the fate of his world.
When a ruthless land baron murders his father, Gav Brigham sets out across a harsh frontier to settle the score the only way the Old West knows how.
Then he saves the wrong girl.
Britt isn’t from anywhere Gav has ever heard of—and the enemies hunting her don’t belong on his world at all. What starts as a simple manhunt spirals into a deadly clash of alien warriors, forbidden technology, and a secret so dangerous it could wipe out every human settlement on the planet.
Outgunned, outmatched, and running out of time, Gav must decide whether frontier justice is enough… or if he’s willing to step beyond everything he knows to protect those who can’t protect themselves.
Yonder in the Stars is a fast-paced Western science fiction adventure packed with gunfights, alien threats, outlaw justice, and reluctant heroes. If you love space westerns, gritty frontier stories, and sci-fi that reads fast, this book is for you.

Skyler grew up in Southern California, under the best weather that state has to offer. So, he's shown a little of his insanity over the years in moving to colder, wetter places: New York City; Provo, Utah; Bainbridge Island, WA. He now resides with his family in Texas, which (apart from the humidity) gives him that great weather once again.
Skyler has been and continues to be a leader and executive with multiple Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, working across a variety of functions, both technical and non-technical. In other words, he's very much a jack-of-all-trades but master of none. Maybe that's why he has now decided to be an author as well. In it, he’s finally found the thing he loves to do most.
Mr. Ramirez currently resides in Texas with his wife, Lindsey, and their four children.
Interesting premise and well written as usual by Mr. Ramirez. While old style western motifs are common in sifi, rarely do they actually have a seemingly authentic version (as must as possible given that it is not actually on Earth) of the 19th century American West. Good book. I hope he does something further with the main characters.
This definitely is a science fiction western. Fun quick read with interesting characters, action and plot twists. The author asks if there should be more books to come on these characters. I think a one only is fine. If another book is written, then issues of culture shock arise, plus relationship issues will raise their ugly head. No soap opera please.
I've always posited that sci-fi stories are just westerns set in space. This novel takes that idea to the extreme with an actual western setting (Gav has NO IDEA that there are other planets and space travel), and meets a crashed spaceship. Like Cowboys and Aliens, but way better than that movie. (Not even Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford could save that. Don't watch it. It's not good.) Some very funny scenes. Gav has the classic western novel characteristics (hero, will only kill for self-preservation, how women should be treated). As well as trope-y Western dialogue and mannerisms. "but sure as shootin' was a swear word from whatever strange place birthed her." What really struck me was Gav is the silent hero type, taking over as sheriff of their small town, helping Brittney, even to accepting the strange ideas and mannerisms of Brittney. Now, Brittney, on the other hand, was grating. But also, I understand why? If I were dropped into a world with no electricity where people kept insisting I wear a dress, I'd be snippy, too. But she does have good intentions. Overall, a fun book. Would totally read the further adventures of Gav and Brit.
Well, I have to admit, I was a mite sceptical about the premise when I started reading. Turns out, I shouldn't have been. Was not quite as good as a Louis L'Amour story, but it was not a big let down at all. I found it to be, for me, A very quick read, and enjoyable.
Thank you, to the author, I liked this story quite a bit!
Great read!!! Just the right amount of blood and guts, death and destruction to make it interesting but not so much as to turn my stomach. Is there a follow up? If so I'll read it. I really enjoy this authors style. I've read others of his and will keep reading. 🙂
What a great story and wild west up yonder. Snyder is one fine author. This is the first of his tales he told to me. It, won't be the last one. You'll find great pleasure in reading this tome.
This book was a lot of fun for me. As usual for Mr Ramirez, the story never lagged ,and I liked the protagonists. The romantic story was charming and. not bogged down by anatomical details.
This is a fun read, somewhat predictable, but a good one. Not one you need to censor for your kids, but full of shoot 'em ups with firearms and a version of phasers. Enjoyed it immensely.
As advertised, this fun story reads like an old Louis lamour Western. A planet quarantined, and stripped down to late 19th century tech. Brave cowboys, A smart and pretty girl.... The kind of distraction that I needed.
The universe is not ready for these two. The Authority is definitely over its head if these two and their friends from their home planet set things to right. Another talented quill pusher. Thanks and yes thinking you can spin a few more yarns around these two and their friends.
