The year is 273 AD. Within a few short years, the Empire crushed the barbarian hordes that poured across the Danube and brought the East back into the fold. Only Gaul and the errant Western provinces remain outside Rome’s sphere of influence. But there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip… It will take a man with iron in his veins to set things right and accomplish the impossible. From a humble upbringing, a boy emerges who is destined to change history. This is the story of Lucius Domitius Aurelianus.
Part Warrior
With the East reincorporated into the Empire, Aurelian turns his attention to the errant provinces on the far side of the Alps. Unlike the savage enemies of Rome who had been mercilessly slaughtered, the emperor views the errant western provinces in the same way a father regards a prodigal son. But Vitruvia, the Druid priestess who serves Lug, the Dark One, is anything but a repentant child. Employing guile and deceit, she strikes first at that which the emperor holds dear. When his depleted legions eventually return from the East, Eochar the Merciless leads his army across the passes, not to bring errant provinces into the fold, but to settle a debt that can only be repaid in blood.

I have read many book series in my life, but this might be the greatest series of all. If you love historical fiction, warriors, battle narratives, fantastic characters, and great storytelling, the Thrice-Named Man series was made for you. I can’t possibly convey how great this series of books are, but I think you’ll agree that after you read the first book, you won’t be able to stop until you’ve read every single one. This book is just like every other book in the series…perfect. God, how I love these books. Thank you, Hector Miller.
Mr Millar has sparked another book you cannot put down!
Why there isnt a trilogy of movies or at least series to honour the best book series written on the least know history that shaped the ancient world is bewildering! The Thrice named man suffers tragedy after the elation of a grandson. Another dark enemy has his blood oath of revenge to avenge those who wronged his family while the the God of fire and war fills his heart.
I enjoy Mr. Miller's writing style and the narrative he weaves. The Thrice Named Man and his tale is akin to the sagas of old. Do your self a favor, go back to the beginning of this series, and start your journey there, you won't regret it. That's all I will say,; I don't give away details in my observations because the reader should experience the tale on his own ground. Cheers!
Sigh…this was a good one. I thoroughly appreciate all the details that the author puts in on the everyday life of the time. From describing the food, all the different cultures, clothing, and historical details, this book is really delivering. It was so potent in what happens in this book to the overall series. It deepened it and pulled it forward. Thank you to the author. I have truly enjoyed this series. Unforgettable.
I have read the series of books up to this point and I have enjoyed the Trip I love the History I did not know the depth of the Roman Empire and the many faces that made it up Thank You so much for the time and love and labor you placed in writing this series
I have really enjoyed each and every book in this series. The story is extremely compelling and keeps you totally engaged. I have become a slow reader during this series...not wanting to miss a single detail!
Another book about the tale of this man. Bit of heartbreak, most of characters make it to the end, get ready for retirement and the book leaves it open for another adventure. Maybe only 1 big battle in this one.
