Tad's dream of owning a shop ended far too quickly, but his drive has only increased. He is determined not only to become strong enough to withstand the Order but also to live the life he wants.
His family is drawing closer but he's got a couple more things to do before he's ready for the meeting.
Now he has to build up his team with some outside help, but for the first time he has a truly clear vision.
So, apparently there was a book in between four and five, not part of the series, but I need to have read in order to understand this? And, if not understand it, I’m still missing a good majority of part of the story going forward? Also, I have to read at least 10 books in another series in order to understand the characters that came in and and who they’re talking about? Did everybody else know about this but me? I don’t really know if I should start book 5. Im honestly not sure what to do, but I’m probably going to put the series down and go to something else. Definitely disappointed.
Did the publisher accidentally skip a book in the series? This book does not pick up after book 4 in the Magic Eater Series. I have no clue what is going on in the first chapter.
It’s always a pity when an author decides to ruin a perfectly good book or series by making the MC into an idiot. The author decides to introduce a love interest and the MC suddenly starts doing really dumb things and everyone around him seems fine with it. He’s presented with the option to become more powerful but he says “no that’s not me”. Even though in six months a literal god is coming to kill him and everyone he loves. Hmmm… A fey Queen sends her daughter to seduce him. He says I know she’s been sent to seduce me and trick me into marriage. Let me give a powerful, irreplaceable ancient artifact and add her to my team alongside my closest most trusted allies. Makes me wonder if the author decided to start using AI.
You miss a large chunk of the book in the beginning
I was excited to dive into this new release after loving the precious books. But if you read even the sample, you’ll quickly realize this book heavily crosses over with another of the author’s works—and a significant chunk of the storyline progressed in the other book.
At first I was fine with it. I figured I’d just pick up that one extra book to catch up and everything would make sense. Then I discovered the crossover pulls from Book 10 in the series.
I’m not about to go back and read the previous 10 books in a new series to fill in the gaps.
The author tries to smooth things over by dropping in a few synopsis-style recaps, but it still feels like a large portion of the story—with plot impact—was simply skipped. That left me frustrated and pulled out of the experience.
I genuinely enjoyed the other book and the author’s writing style, which makes this even more disappointing. If you haven’t read the full series up to Book 10, be prepared for the sense that you’re walking into the middle of a conversation.
I don’t understand why this book doesn’t have 5 stars
I have always enjoyed the magic eater series and was introduced to it through Wttm. I like the focus on enchanting and crafting, I like the focus on the responsibility of authority and I like that we’re finally delving into the details of the courts that have been teased for several books. I’m glad the series has continued and tied in so both main characters could grow. Tad has had a rough time throughout so it was AMAZING to see him get some of the emotional payoffs that have been building for years. I didn’t think it was a bad thing that Tony Stark had defining character moments in the Avengers and throw a fit when I watched the next Iron Man movie, and I think that in order for Tad to continue to see growth beyond the threats set up for him, crossing over with Apocalypse Breaker and Wttm is the perfect move.
Tldr- I loved the book, I love the crossover and both series are stronger for the entries. 5 stars.
Of all the Sean Oswald's book multiverses. Tad & co are my consistent favourites. I honestly can't understand why someone would only give 3 stars. It couldn't be for the story. Action or writing, if i had to guess it would be the crossover event with welcome to the multiverse. I was a little put off at 1st as it was unexpected until the book synopsis, where It played up the demon betrayal & i thought I missed stuff at the end of book 4, then after quick reread worked out i needed to jump series & make the decision on Wether i read from book6=10 or just read bk10 of welcome to the multiverse. The latter being what I did ,AND WOW GLAD I DID as I had hit a flat spot with that series and it reinvigorated my love & desire for it and made me realise there were another 2 or so series to read & enjoy them & their crossovers
Pros: The text itself is good; solid core of character and story. The powers and philosophy are thoughtful, with the interactions considered. The characters feel like people. Cons: Major plot threads were resolved in a different book series. Overly florid descriptions of locations and actions. Excessive introspection. The more we see the villain, the less I respect him. Overall: I enjoyed my time and plan to read the next volume. Hopefully it isn't a crossover story.
This series has been great to read so far and I can’t wait for the next one. The only thing that bothered me was how the characters kept repeating information or realizations they’ve already voiced multiple times throughout the book. Apart from that the story was good.
I appreciate the abbreviated stats that allow for more room for the story. Tad's is a great story of growth and wonder. Who would have thought an orphan's parent's families could cause so much yrouble?
I have been reading this authors titles almost exclusively over the past year even those under his pin name. I found this book to be excellent just like all the others I have read and look forward to what comes next in the series.
I am Enjoying this series and loved the crossover between the worlds. Can’t wait to see how they all intertwine in the future. This series and this multiverse he’s made is awesome and I’ll keep reading more
Why put major plot points in another book that’s not part of the actual series?? To try to get more clicks? I was waiting for this book to come out, and now I’m missing key details because you put the plot that was building into a completely different series…… smh
