A terrifying foe will stop at nothing to destroy Carter Ash and everything he’s built.
The powerful alien empire of the Gumalagians turns their attention to the United Interplanetary Republic. While Carter has faced dangerous opponents, nothing could prepare him for what’s to come.
He must find allies and grow stronger — without sacrificing the people he loves.
Along with an audacious and alluring Admiral, Carter races against the clock to assemble a fleet that can save them all.
The War Not Enough Space is a LitRPG adventure for discerning adults.
This has been an enjoyable series so far, but this one did not do it for me. The MC is so overpowered and has so much plot armor that anything but total victory for the MC is all but assured...it just comes across as boring.
As for the harem, it's grown so large at this point, with so many women that most of them are pretty much background characters. They each get a half a chapter where they're at the forefront of the story and then fade into the background. The newest member is one that has been in the story since pretty much the beginning, but again as a background character. Before now, the MC and her have very little face-to-face interactions and spend months apart, yet she joins the harem and then fades from the story. What started out as legitimate relationship building with the LI's having an actual impact to the story and the MC's motivations has now devolved into Pokemon, gotta catch them all, conquests with little to no impact to the overall plot.
At this point, I'm invested in finishing the series, but it is no longer that enjoyable where I'll pick up the book on release day. I'll read it, eventually....
I enjoyed this book, though the series is feeling a little stale to me considering how OP the MC is compared to just about everyone else. Sure, the author has a few antagonists that are stronger for him to deal with, but he's so much stronger than anyone else that fights with him that most of them sit around watching him be awesome.
One LI joins the harem officially, someone that's been basically just waiting for her turn. The lone sex scene was anticlimactic. It's clear the harem is too large to let each of them have more than a blip to shine.
The ending was kind of a letdown after all the buildup for a major battle between the UIR and the antagonists. And the heavy handedness of the aliens that run the Game takes away some of the sense of winning the MC gets for me.
I will read book 10, and I suspect it may satisfy more than this one did.
Alternate universe, LitRPG, save the universe, harem adult situations
Carter and his very capable ladies have their work cut out for them as challenges to their growing, prosperous civilization continue to arise, including their fiercesome Gumalagians. Above average editing. Enjoyable. And the retro covers are fun, too. Ready for book 10!
What more do you want from me? This is book 9 of a haremlit LitRPG series. There are only so many ways I can say that I like the characters and the author does a decent job with the action scenes.
I have really enjoyed the story of this series as the world premise is a little different from other litRPG in that our MC had chosen to join the game. I like how the story is going to have a definite conclusion and the harem elements are easy to skim past.
