SUMMIT
One of them is hiding billions. The other is hiding bruises. But on the summit, it's hard to hide for long.

The Boss
Christian T. Devereaux is tired of being seen as a bank account instead of a man. When his family buys a Montana ski resort, he’s happy to be the boots on the ground and take a break from his fast-paced New York City lifestyle. Only, instead of arriving in a suit, spouting orders, he arrives as "Talon," a seasonal worker looking for a fresh start. He wants a true picture of his investment—but he never expected the most valuable thing on the mountain to be the host with the haunted eyes.

The Host
For twenty-two-year-old Zeke, every day is a performance. He’s the smiling face of the resort’s top restaurant, but behind the scenes, he’s just trying to survive. Trapped in a toxic relationship and living paycheck to paycheck, Zeke doesn’t have room for a distraction—especially not a sexy, kind-hearted newcomer who treats him like he matters.

The Risk
Talon has the power to fix all of Zeke's problems with a single wire transfer. But Zeke doesn’t want charity, and he definitely doesn't want pity. He wants to be seen for who he is, not what he lacks. As the Montana winter grows colder and darker, the tension between them reaches a breaking point, and it’s a race to see whose truth will be revealed first.
How do you save someone who refuses to be a victim? And how can Zeke trust a man who’s done nothing but lie since the day they met?

I was gifted an ARC copy of this book, and overall, I really enjoyed it. It’s always difficult reading about a character trapped in an abusive relationship, and this story definitely hit hard at times. Zeke felt completely stuck in his toxic relationship with Derek, and it was equal parts heartbreaking and frustrating watching so many people try to help while he continued pushing them away. Derek was absolutely awful, and the way he manipulated, controlled, and abused Zeke made me so angry on Zeke’s behalf.

When Tal arrives at Summit Restaurant working undercover, he’s immediately drawn to Zeke, even while still thinking he’s straight. I really loved the way Tal cared for him from the very beginning. The small gestures — bringing him coffee and hot chocolate, checking in on him, quietly making sure he was okay — were honestly some of my favorite parts of the book. Even when Zeke struggled to accept help, Tal never stopped showing up for him, and it was really sweet to watch their connection slowly grow. They truly saw each other beyond all the pain and chaos surrounding Zeke’s relationship, even before Zeke knew the truth about Tal’s wealth and identity.

I was definitely relieved when Tal stepped in once everything finally came to a head with Derek and Zeke, though I do think the pacing made parts of the second half of the book feel a little rushed for me. The first half was such a strong slow burn filled with tension and suspense, especially surrounding what was going to happen with Derek, that I wanted a little more time spent unpacking some of the bigger conflicts later on. Conflicts like the power imbalance between Zeke/Tal, and the media/Derek, and the family pushback all seemed to appear and then be wrapped up so quickly. I also would have loved more development with Tal’s family, particularly the storyline involving Lukas.

That said, I really loved how certain Tal was about Zeke. Their chemistry was fantastic, the spice was swoony, and I loved watching Zeke slowly realize he deserved safety, love, and happiness. Eloise was another standout for me because of how genuinely caring and supportive she was toward Zeke. And as someone who loves a good happy ending, the final chapters and epilogue absolutely made me smile.

At its core, this was a really sweet and emotional love story about healing, learning to trust, and finding people who truly care about you. Zeke went through so much, and by the end I just wanted to give him the biggest hug.

If you love friends-to-lovers vibes, secret identity, age gap romance, bi awakening, protective MC's, and a beautiful HEA, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.

ARC REVIEW

Fair warning because this book does get pretty graphic with the physical and emotional abuse.

Zeke seriously has not had an easy life. At 18, his mother leaves him to fend for himself, and he ends up living on the streets. That’s where Derek finds him and takes advantage of just how vulnerable he is. Zeke endures Derek’s abuse for four years, and even though his coworkers try to help him escape, he genuinely can’t see a way out.

Then Talon comes into his life, basically the complete opposite. Billionaire, loving family, supportive siblings (his sister Eloise was honestly the MVP of this book), but because of his money, Talon’s never really had someone love him for who he is. This man was an absolute green flag.

When his family buys Ricochet Ridge, Talon goes there anonymously and immediately becomes completely charmed by Zeke’s gorgeous cheekbones and slutty little glasses… while not fully putting 1 and 1 together right away 😉

Talon’s never been interested in men before, but after Zeke ends up in the hospital, he realizes very quickly that his feelings go way deeper than he expected.

One thing I really loved was how patient Talon was with Zeke. He never pushed him, always respected his boundaries, and genuinely just wanted him to heal and feel safe.

Zeke also never cared about Talon’s money, which made their relationship feel so genuine.

I also loved that Zeke still got to chase his theatre dreams and move to New York instead of giving everything up for the relationship. Talon wanted to give him the world while still letting him stay independent and become his own person.

Sad to be leaving Ricochet Ridge 😭

This is heart wrenching and really sad. If DV is a trigger for you, this is not the book for you.

I’m glad Zeke was able to find peace and safety with Talon and learn to truly love and be loved/protected.

Derek, you can die in a fire… slowly and painfully.

Okay, here’s what you’re gonna need to do:

1. Rip out your heart
2. Put it in a blender
3. Add lots of tears, a little cum and your favorite Harvard hoodie
4. Blend it up real good
5. Dump it all over your kindle

Maybe you can use some tape or something to put everything back together… idk. Or just read the epilogue like 17 times (that’s what did. It helped).

I think this is the book that finally broke me.
And I’m COMPLETELY OBSESSED.
I love the Ricochet Ridge series with my entire being. I have given all previous books 5-6 star masterpiece ratings… that being said, Summit has completely blown every other book out of the water. It’s by far my favorite (which is INSANE because they’re all so fucking amazing). I’m almost speechless. Maybe I’m just too overwhelmed by emotions to focus enough to write a review.

First, I wanna say, Summit was hard to read… I loved Zeke’s small moments in the other books and I was SO looking forward to his book. And now that I know what he was going through that whole time, I’m heartbroken and kind of sick. I just want him to have every single good thing from now until the end of time… In walks Talon, like, “hold my hot chocolate, I got this”. Everything about their relationship, from the very first meeting, was packed with emotion and depth and so much freaking love and caring and protectiveness. I was literally melting by the time Talon realized he had “more than friend” feelings for Zeke. All their little touches and hand holding was seriously better than sex, I could feel their emotion in my bones! THE CONSENT WAS EVERYTHING. The safety they experienced and the trust they had with each other was on another level (and that was before Zeke even knew who Talon really was!!) Talon was everything I could have ever hoped for Zeke to have. I could go on and on about the understanding and vulnerability and intensity between them.

I keep talking about Zeke and how he broke my heart, but Talons story was a sad one too. Never being able to have a REAL connection with someone because of who you are and what you have is devastating and so incredibly lonely. This entire book could have taken place with them just hugging and I would have been A-OK with it.

The age gap (22-32) was *chefs kiss*.
The undercover (billionaire) boss x abused baby boy employee trope was TOP TIER.
The bi awakening was EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE EVER HOPED FOR.
And while the little touches were my bread and butter… the sexy times were SO GODDAMN SEXY.

I cried through most of this book… you probably will too.
Just know, all the tears and pain are worth it to reach the ending.

“I fell in love with Talon long before I knew who he was, and I'm sure it's hard to believe, but I'd love him just the same if his net worth was as low as mine.
People see him for his wallet, but I see his heart, and I'm not willing to walk away from that unless he tells me to go. So, with all due respect, you can keep your money, because the way I feel about Talon is worth more than your entire empire."

Rounded up from a 4.5.

All of the books in the Ricochet Ridge series are so good, but this is the heaviest book by far. The other have dealt with some serious topics but this was the hardest emotionally to read. Zeke we have met in the previous books so we know that something is up with him and it is all reveled in this book he feels like he is trapped in an abusive relationship with his boyfriend. He had a super challenging childhood and did not have a lot of options on where to live so he just stayed. Plus there is a lot of manipulation and controlling. I feel that this is so well written because even though it is hard to read and you feel all of the emotion it is sort of like a fade to black for the really horrible parts. I would caution people to read trigger warning but there is such a good payoff at the other end of the book.

Talon arrives in Ricochet Ridge (which his family now owns) like a Boss undercover. He meets Zeke and is just drawn to him. At first he doesn't really know why he is straight and on paper they don't have that much in common, but he is. Tal is constantly trying to feed, provide and protect Zeke all while finding excuses to spend time with him.

I loved how their relationship evolved and how Talon realized that he was attracted to Zeke. But the best part is how Zeke blossomed with Talon's care and love. They had some hurdles to overcome mostly emotional but the communication in this book is so sexy - yes sexy.

Jillian will be an auto read author for me from now on.

What a finale! I'm sad we're leaving Ricochet Ridge, but excited for what's next! I just fell in love with Talon & Zeke in this one. It was definitely more emotional than the previous installments and a lot lighter on the angst. This one was slow-burn and sweet. I loved how patient and protective Talon was and how Zeke was so fiercely independent. I felt so bad for him and loved that he got the chance to heal. Both boys had a bit of trauma to work through, but I loved how they did it together. It was great how Talon allowed Zeke to be independent, while still helping him achieve his dreams - it was the perfect mix. There wasn't as much Ricochet Ridge in this one, but it worked. I know who's coming up next and I'm so excited to get to Boston. :)

This book absolutely shattered my heart and then stitched it back together so gently that I’m still emotional about it. ❤️‍🩹🏔️

Summit is one of those stories that feels heavy and healing at the exact same time. It deals with extremely difficult topics; abusive relationships, domestic violence, manipulation, sexual assault, trauma recovery; and it handles them with so much care, honesty, and compassion. Please check trigger warnings before reading because this book does not shy away from how devastating abuse can be. 🥺

But underneath all of that pain is such a beautiful story about safety, trust, healing, and learning that you deserve to be loved gently. 🤍

Zeke absolutely broke me.

He’s the kind of character who keeps smiling through unimaginable pain because survival has taught him that falling apart isn’t an option. Watching him navigate an abusive relationship while trying to convince himself everything was “fine” was heartbreaking in such a real way. The way abuse isolates him, exhausts him, and slowly chips away at his sense of self was written SO well. 💔

And Talon?? Oh my god. The GREENEST flag. 💚😭

I loved that Tal wasn’t written as some overbearing savior character. He doesn’t try to “fix” Zeke. He just shows up for him over and over again in small, gentle, consistent ways.

The coffee.
The hot chocolate.
Checking in quietly.
Giving Zeke space while still making sure he knows someone cares. 🥺

Those moments honestly hit me harder than the big dramatic scenes sometimes.

Their relationship develops so naturally too. This isn’t insta-love or over-the-top drama. It’s two people slowly learning how to trust each other while carrying completely different kinds of emotional baggage.

And the COMMUNICATION?? 😭👏🏼
Actual mature conversations. Immediate honesty. Respect for boundaries. Consent. Patience. Understanding.

It was honestly refreshing.

Talon’s patience with Zeke, especially considering everything Zeke had been through, was handled beautifully. He never pressures him, never makes him feel broken, and never punishes him for struggling. He just keeps reminding Zeke that he deserves safety and softness and love. 🫠❤️‍🩹

I also really appreciated that the story acknowledged the complicated realities of abusive relationships instead of simplifying them. Abuse isn’t easy to leave. Trauma changes the way people think, survive, and cope, and I thought the book portrayed that really thoughtfully.

And once Zeke finally starts allowing himself to believe he deserves happiness?? Yeah. Emotional damage. 😭

I also loved Tal’s family and the overall warmth surrounding the second half of the book. After so much darkness, seeing Zeke slowly surrounded by people who genuinely care about him felt incredibly healing.

This book gave me:
❤️‍🩹 healing after abuse
🏔️ emotional slow burn
💚 green flag MMC
🤍 hurt/comfort
☕ quiet acts of love
😭 emotional healing & recovery
✨ healthy communication
🫶 found family vibes

It hurt. A LOT.
But it was also incredibly comforting in a way I wasn’t expecting.

If you want a deeply emotional romance that balances heartbreak with genuine healing and softness, this one is absolutely worth reading. 🤍

“Because I see you, and you’re the first person I’ve met who sees me.”

Zeke's got a hard life and stuck in a toxic and abusive relationship. He met newbie, Tal, and worked alongside him but what he didn't know is that Tal's the new owner of Ricochet Ridge. As they formed friendship and more, they need to learn if their connection is worth it.

I did not know that this is the last book in the series! I'm gonna miss this place.

First off, I know this book gonna make me feel things. I met Zeke in the second book (because I didn't read book 1 lol), and it was hinted that he's in an abusive relationship, and I am looking forward to him getting his own happy ever after. It was def worth the wait.

I love Zeke, he's done things he's not proud of to survive but that's the thing, he's a survivor. He's resilient, he's a good person that dealt with a shtty situation which made my heart broke for him. Tal, on the otherhand, lived a life of priviledge which he did acknowledged and I appreciate that. He got lucky with a supportive support system with loving parents and caring siblings, and on top of that, they are rich rich. With that comes the battle of people getting to know him knowing his net worth so he didn't really maintain genuine connection which he want.

“Ten minutes ago, I was ready to burn the world down to protect you. One minute ago, you reminded me that as long as we’re together, the world can burn eternally. And now I want to be yours again in that way we discovered last night.”

Let me preface, I wished I could go inside the book and just kick the heck out of the abusive bf because he's a scum of this planet. Now I got that out of the way, the main characters' friendship turned out to be rocky and tentative right from the start considering Zeke had this abusive boyfriend. He's this constant storm cloud looming over them but that doesn't stop them from showing up for each other with little things.

They were put in this situation that made their relationship felt rushed. I did appreciate that they communicate, they were adults about the whole situation and knows the difference power dynamics and class difference they had. I appreciate the author taking care of how the entire situation was handled. It was with caution and grace. I'm gonna miss them.

I wished we had some kind of a reunion where characters from the previous book showed up, but alas. I'm gonna miss them.

I will be keeping an eye out for the next Jillian D. Wray book!

I am actually obsessed with Talon and Zeke. ❄️🏔️ This book wrapped me up in a giant snowy blanket of hurt/comfort, longing, healing, and soft devastating love and I never wanted to leave that mountain.

Summit was the kind of slow burn that HURTS in the best possible way. Every glance, every tiny act of kindness, every moment Talon looked at Zeke like he was something precious instead of broken had my chest tightening. Their chemistry wasn’t just hot, it was emotional. The yearning in this book could probably power the entire ski resort.

Zeke absolutely shattered me. Behind all the smiles and perfect host energy was someone barely holding himself together and my heart broke for him over and over again. You could feel how exhausted he was from surviving all the time. And then Talon comes in with his giant heart, quiet patience, and “I see you” energy and suddenly I was crying at 2am over fictional men again. Fantastic.

And TALON??? Christian “Talon” Devereaux was everything. Billionaire romance heroes can sometimes feel cold or over the top, but he felt genuinely kind. Protective without being controlling, rich without acting untouchable, and completely gone for Zeke from the start. The secret identity trope was SO good here because you could feel the tension building every second he kept the truth hidden. I was simultaneously screaming “tell him!!” and “wait no I need more tension first!!”

The Montana winter setting was perfection too. Snowstorms, cozy resort vibes, late night conversations, stolen moments, emotional vulnerability simmering under layers of ice and flannel… this book felt cinematic in the best way. Like a warm drink in freezing weather except the drink is filled with emotional damage. ☕❄️

What I loved most was how carefully this story handled healing. Zeke never felt reduced to what happened to him. His strength felt raw and real, and Talon never tried to “save” him in a cheesy way. He just stood beside him, loved him, and gave him space to choose himself. It made the romance feel so much deeper.

I devoured this book. Stayed up way too late. Cried multiple times. Smiled like an idiot constantly. Talon and Zeke own a permanent ski lodge-shaped corner of my heart now. Five massive stars. 💙🏔️✨

“Because I see you, and you’re the first person I’ve met who sees me,”

Oh, I don’t even know where to start with this one, definitely my so very favourite in the series 🥹
It’s been a while since I’ve literally inhaled a book, and I mean, I knew it was going to be good, but I didn’t expect to be so emotional, in the best way.

It handles some really heavy topics: abusive relationship, domestic violence, sexual assault. So please be careful with this and also, because I’ve seen some comments about how Zeke should have walked away from the abusive relationship - please, don’t do victim blaming 🙏🏻

I loved both Zeke and Talon so much 🤍 Zeke is such a strong, sweet and pure person, which really is amazing considering the life he had. My heart was breaking for him the entire time 💔
And Talon, the greenest of all green flags 💚 Which is also a pleasant surprise, considering his background. And I know we all love our fictional men morally grey, but this is a different kind of story, and I wouldn’t change a thing about both of them.

“You give me more credit than I deserve, Talon,” he whispers.
“You deserve the world, Zeke. And I want to give it to you.”

It is such a beautiful story of healing. Like picture-perfect scenario of recovering from the abusive relationship and trauma.
Communication was simply chef’s kiss! 🤌
Both Zeke and Talon addressed all of their concerns instantly, their honesty, consideration and acceptance were like a balm to the heart. Total consent, Talon’s incredible patience and Zeke’s will to heal and move on were so beautifully done 🤍

We have a beautiful slowish burn here, and considering all heavy topics, the chemistry between Zeke and Talon was off the charts. Their relationship grew so naturally, there was no unnecessary drama and all the actions made sense.
I also loved the support of Talon’s family and by the way, the female representation here is really good!

Loved it, zero complaints, heavy, but so very soothing and healing at the same time ❤️‍🩹

Thank you so much to TAA and Jillian Wray for this ARC ❣️

I’m truly so sad about this. I was looking forward to the last book from this series because I’ve loved the other books so much I had high hopes for this one.

I couldn’t stand Zeke, he has such a bad life and circumstances but still his reasons for staying were idiotic and suicidal. Maybe I lack empathy for him and that’s my issue, but you mean to tell me you’re being abused, given a “free” out and still decide to stay with said abuser? And even after almost getting killed, you don’t want to press charges?! Be for real. Also, his whole attitude thing was meh, he’s cold and rude sometimes and then asks Eloise, a virtual stranger to help him dress at the hospital…not the guy who you’ve known for months?

And said guy, Talon…my guy what the fuck? His intro to the reader was already awful, he’s thirty but acts sixteen. His “heart of gold” shows up buy knowing the employee’s names and little things about them, and his instant fixation on Zeke was so random. Also, his approach to his sexuality was so centered on what Zeke wanted it felt removed from Talon’s actual wants and self discovery.

The pacing was wild, their romance moved at hyper speed and the chemistry for the spice was just not there. I’m shocked because Jillian gives is layered characters that connect with one another both emotionally and physically, but it didn’t work on this book.

Oh and what really ticked me? The fucking conclusion to the brother debacle…you mean to tell me he gets by with a “yeah, so I was being mean on purpose but it’s not my fault” bullshit apology? Nah. Both Talon and Zeke, not to mention Talon’s family should have said or done something to hit home how fucked up what the brother did was. IF he had a redemption arc, he didn’t deserve an easy and fast one.

This being said, I want to reiterate that I loved this series…one, two and three lol. And I’m excited learning that we are getting a Logan x Chase spin off and hopefully more in Boston Med!!

Thank you, TAA and Jillian for the advanced copy.

I fell in love with this series from the very first book, and with every new release, Jillian continues to deliver another unforgettable story.🩵

What I love most about the Ricochet Ridge series is that every book works perfectly as a standalone. Each story features different characters, different tropes, and different journeys, and they are all written with so much heart and emotion.

Zeke works at Summit, the high end restaurant at the top of the Ricochet Ridge ski resort. He comes from nothing, and at his lowest point, he met Derek ,a man who promised him a roof over his head and love, but only under certain conditions. Zeke isn’t happy. He’s controlled, manipulated, and treated terribly, yet he feels trapped and unable to leave.

Talon, on the other hand, has more money than he could ever spend. His family owns a successful property business and has recently purchased Ricochet Ridge. To truly understand the resort and how it operates, Talon decides to work there undercover. He doesn’t want anyone treating him differently because of his wealth.

And then he meets Zeke.🩵

Skinny, broken, and emotionally drained, Zeke immediately catches Talon’s attention. Talon can see that something is wrong, no matter how hard Zeke tries to hide it behind a smile.

As their friendship grows, Talon realizes he wants to protect and help Zeke. At the same time, he begins developing feelings he never expected to have, after always believing he wasn’t attracted to men.🥹

But nothing is ever that simple.

Zeke already has a boyfriend.
And Talon is hiding a major secret of his own.

This story was so beautiful. I loved the way Talon helped Zeke see that he wasn’t broken, weak, or a victim of his past. He showed him that he was strong, worthy of love, and capable of finding happiness again.🩷

this book is about healing after pain, learning to trust again, and discovering that your past does not define you. The romance is emotional, tender, and the spice is both passionate and beautifully intimate.🥵🩵

I loved every minute of it!!

Disclosure: I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) of Summit from the author exchange for an honest review.

Jillian D. Wray waited until the absolute end of the Ricochet Ridge series to drop the heaviest emotional damage, and I am completely rendered speechless. Summit is a magnificent, deeply moving conclusion that moves past classic tropes to deliver a raw, realistic portrait of survival, wealth, and human connection.

Zeke is a character who will completely wrap his fingers around your heart. On the surface, he is the smiling face of the resort's top restaurant; underneath, he is desperately trying to survive the physical and mental fallout of a deeply toxic, abusive domestic situation.

Enter Christian "Talon" Devereaux—a billionaire hiding his identity to escape the shallow expectations of his status. The brilliance of their dynamic lies in its purity. Zeke doesn't view Talon as an ATM; he sees him as a human being from their very first interaction. Talon, in turn, doesn't offer pity or charity—he recognizes Zeke's internal strength.

From an analytical standpoint, this book completely shifted my perspective on trauma narratives. We often want to see victims take loud, explosive action against their abusers. But Summit beautifully argues a more heartbreaking truth: sometimes it is infinitely more courageous to choose peace, to walk away, and to heal without reliving the horror for the sake of revenge. Survivors deserve tranquility, and watching Zeke claim his peace was profound.

The chemistry between Talon & Zeke is electric, and getting glimpses of the wider series lore—like the Avalanche Christmas party crossover—was pure joy.

The villain is thoroughly repulsive, the stakes are uncomfortably high, and the emotional damage is a definitive 5/5. But the payoff? A flawless, hard-won HEA.

If you love deep character growth, high-heat secret identity romances, and top-tier hurt/comfort, pre-order this immediately.

‼️SPOILERS‼️

🌟 Read Your Triggers 🌟

I have loved every single one of these books in this series but holy moly, Talon & Zeke had my heart just from the first page I started the book. Each book just got better and better with each couple. This book is definitely going to make you go through your emotions for sure when it comes to these two. All I’m going to say is I wanted to hug Zeke so many times.

Zeke has never known anything positive in his life until he meets Talon, who decides to go undercover to learn more about the ins and outs when in fact, his family owns the ski resort in Ricochet Ridge. From the hot chocolate to making sure he eats and to patient he gives Zeke, I just knew these two were going to be so adorable when they did get together.

Zeke is in a very abusive relations where he gets abused by his boyfriend, Derek. When a certain scene happens they had me in tears because domestic violence is rough. If this is really triggering, I wouldn’t read this book. I sure in fact went through my many feelings.

When Zeke finally learns to love himself and that it’s okay to go for what you want, I was a mess because those moments were so heartwarming to me along with making me ache for more. I laughed when Eloise took him shopping when Talon had a meeting and only got socks! Poor baby didn’t know what to do with himself.

I was so happy that Zeke got the family that he deserved because he deserved it. Talon and his family, especially his sister truly tooo him in when they realized he wasn’t with Talon for his money.

I love books that really make you want more and it has so many plot twists. Also, that last chapter of the book was simply beautiful but I will say when Zeke finally tells his story, I was gripping my kindle because he’s so strong and resilient to everything that has happened.

I cannot wait for the next series. I really need to read more of her work because I’m completely obsessed with the way she brings these characters to life.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Book Rating:⭐ 4.5/5
Spice Rating:🌶️ 3.5/5

So I jumped into Summit without reading the previous books in the series, and honestly, I never felt lost so safe to say, this worked really well as a standalone, and I found myself getting invested in Talon and Zeke's story pretty fast! The emotional side of this book hit pretty hard because Zeke has been through IT. My heart was aching for him. Watching him navigate the reality of an abusive relationship while trying to convince himself he was fine was heartbreaking. There were so many moments where I just wanted to reach through the pages and give him a hug. Needless to say, I cried a few times for him.

What I loved most was how patient Talon was with him. Talon could have easily come in as the billionaire ready to solve all of Zeke's problems. Instead, he shows up in these adorable little ways that matter and just had me swooning!! Bringing him coffee, checking in on him, making sure he feels seen and cared for without asking for anything in return. UGH, I was in love! Their relationship develops slowly, which felt necessary given everything Zeke was dealing with, and it made their connection feel genuine and earned rather than forced.

I also really appreciated the way the class difference was approached here. Zeke never cared about Talon's money, and Talon desperately wanted someone who saw him as more than his bank account. But Jillian did a great job of making it feel fresh and not like a cliche! They both had very different struggles, but there was something really beautiful about the way they gave each other exactly what they needed emotionally. The chemistry was great, and once they finally gave in to their feelings, I just couldn't help but root for them.

This was emotional, sweet, and full of healing. It tackles some very heavy topics, so check your TW, but at its core, this is a story about learning you deserve safety, love, and happiness. Zeke's journey was incredibly rewarding to watch, and by the end, I could not stop smiling for him!!!

Before going into this book, I definitely recommend checking the trigger warnings because this story does deal with abuse and trauma in a very emotional way.

This book honestly pulled me in emotionally more than I expected it to.

Zeke and Talon were such a beautiful contrast to one another, and seeing Zeke slowly learn what genuine care and love looked like after years of abuse was heartbreaking but also incredibly rewarding to read.

Zeke’s backstory was devastating. Being abandoned by his mother at eighteen, left to survive on the streets, and then ending up trapped in an abusive relationship with Derek for four years made it understandable why he struggled so much with trusting himself and others.

Then Talon enters his life and is basically the complete opposite of everything Zeke has ever known.

Talon comes from a wealthy and loving family, but despite being a billionaire, he’s never really had someone care about him for who he truly is instead of his money or status. I loved that connection between them because they both needed something emotionally from the other person.

When Talon’s family buys Ricochet Ridge and he meets Zeke anonymously, you can immediately feel how drawn he is to him. Watching Talon slowly realize that his feelings for Zeke go far beyond friendship after Zeke ends up in the hospital made the emotional side of this book hit even harder.

One of my favorite parts was honestly how Zeke treated Talon. He didn’t care about the money or billionaire lifestyle. He cared about Talon as a person, and I think Talon desperately needed someone like that in his life.

This book was emotional, heavy at times, healing, and very character-driven. Seeing Zeke slowly find safety, support, and people who genuinely cared about him made this such a rewarding read.

⭐️ Overall Rating: 4.25/5

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OH. MY. GOD. 😭😭😭

I am legally obligated to inform you that Jillian D. Wray has officially ruined my life with Summit, and I am NOT OKAY!! This book absolutely consumed my entire soul and I am screaming, crying, and throwing up at how breathtakingly perfect it is!

Talon and Zeke have completely taken over my brain chemistry. Talon is a literal sunshine billionaire angel who goes undercover at a ski resort, and my heart broke into a million tiny pieces for Zeke, a resilient theater-loving survivor who has been dealt the cruelest hand by life. The absolute contrast between them? IMPECCABLE. The yearning? UNMATCHED. The tenderness? CHEF'S KISS.

The emotional depth in this story is staggering. When Talon said, “Is it such a crime to have an empathetic heart? To be the change you want to see in the world?” I literally choked on my tears. And when Zeke confessed, “Desperation and the instinct to survive backed me into a corner I’d never have chosen otherwise,” I wanted to reach through the pages and shield him from the world!

The way Talon cares for him—bringing him warm drinks in the blustery cold and softly defending his space—is everything. “Your words say ‘don’t,’ but the way he’s gripping the cup tells me he’s dying for someone to care.” ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED ME. 💔

🏔️ THE TROPES:
- Undercover Billionaire / Secret Identity 🤫
- Hurt / Comfort (Ultimate Healing Vibes) 🩹
- Grumpy x Sunshine / Pure Empath MC ☀️
- Workplace Romance (Ski Resort Setting) ⛷️
- Socioeconomic Contrast (Rich x Poor) 💸

This is a beautiful, heavy, but ultimately protective and healing romance that handles tough realities with so much respect and care. Wray delivers a masterclass in emotional intimacy, pacing, and true devotion. I need to reread this immediately! RUN, DON'T WALK TO READ THIS! 🚀✨

If you loved this review, I can help you draft a spotlight post for Instagram or compile a list of similar ski-resort romance books to cure your reading slump!

Zeke and Talon’s story absolutely shattered my heart and then stitched it back together by the end. This one gets heavy at times, so please check the trigger warnings.

Sweet Zeke completely broke me. Behind all of his smiles was someone who was barely holding himself together. I already knew from the other books in the series that he wasn’t in a good relationship, but goodness.. I wasn’t prepared for what this sweet man went through. But despite it all he still showed up every day at Summit to greet guests with a smile on his face.

Talon’s family had purchased Ricochet Ridge and he goes undercover around the resort to learn how things are run and get a feel for the employees' likes and dislikes. Lowkey, it gave off Undercover Boss vibes and I was here for it. Talon trains with Zeke at the host stand and quickly realizes that there is something heavier behind Zeke’s smile.

Even the friendship between the two was beautiful. Talon felt like he had made a true connection with someone based off of who he was and not what he could offer. Zeke had found someone who seemed to care for him as a person without wanting anything in return. And when Talon realizes there’s more to his feelings for Zeke? Ugh, it was everything. I loved how patient, caring, and reassuring he was with Zeke. Seeing Zeke learn to trust again and reclaim pieces of himself was truly beautiful. I loved that Talon was the biggest green flag and gave Zeke the safe space for him to heal. He really deserved the world and I’m so glad Talon could give him that.

And listen… I wouldn’t have been that mad if Derek had fallen a little harder on those stairs… just sayin’

I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.

ARC REVIEW
Summit by Jillian D. Wray
⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)

Talon and Zeke’s boss x employee secret identity romance is easily the angstiest relationship on Ricochet Ridge.

When Talon meets Zeke, he’s trapped in a toxic relationship that has worn him down for years, unable to see a way out until Talon quietly shows him something better. Zeke doesn’t know Talon is actually the billionaire owner of Ricochet and Summit, the restaurant where he works. Instead, he just sees a man who notices the little things—whether he’s eaten, how he takes his coffee, the quiet details that make someone feel cared for.

And honestly, Talon completely owned my heart. More than anything, he wants to be loved for who he is rather than what he has. Meeting Zeke under the safety of anonymity gives him a chance to build something real without his wealth hanging over everything. He’s kind, generous, protective, and deeply loyal to the people he loves. Every action he takes comes from a desire to care for others without expecting anything in return.

The romance itself is definitely a slow burn, but it needs to be. Zeke spends much of the book untangling himself emotionally from his ex and learning how to exist in a healthier space before he’s truly ready for a relationship. Because of that, the connection between him and Talon feels incredibly earned. Their relationship leans sweeter than sensual, though the chemistry is absolutely there, and I loved watching them slowly build a foundation rooted in trust, safety, and support.

Honestly, this relationship felt like it was built to last long after the final page.

I’m so sad to leave Ricochet Ridge, but I cannot wait to see what Jillian D. Wray writes next.

Couple: Talon and Zeke.

Structure: 1st person. Present tense. Dual POV. Fourth and last book in a series.

I cannot begin to express how much I loved this series! Every single book gave me a great time and all kinds of feelings.

Summit was probably the one that made me feel the most two very different emotions in all their range: angst and love. I nearly cried from those. Zeke and Talon are so precious, I just wanted to protect them from the entire world.

Seriously, what an adorable couple! Both of them have hearts bigger than themselves. They have seen so many things the world has to offer, and still managed to keep their sweet, hopeful side despite it all. I rooted fiercely from them from start to finish.

There were a few things that happened a bit fast that usually would bother me a little, but I was too enthralled to care. I just wanted them happily together haha The way they bring out the best in each other captured my heart from the start. They are on of the greenest flag couple I've ever read. No to mention a show on healthy masculinity.

They'll for sure stay with me for a long time. I think everytime I remember Summit, I'll first and foremost feel this warmth in my heart the story continuously gave me 💕

This was such a cute and satisfying way to end the series! OMG, Talon and Zeke were absolutely adorable together, and I am always a sucker for a good bi awakening storyline. Their chemistry was so sweet, and I loved the age gap and boss/employee dynamics so much.

Zeke honestly just broke my heart at times. He was such a sweetheart and deserved so much better than everything he had been through. Talon was the perfect complement to him because he was caring, protective, patient, and just genuinely wanting to see Zeke happy and safe, at a time when he needed it the most. I also have to admit I was OBSESSED with the whole undercover billionaire/Undercover Boss vibes. It made the story so fun and addictive.

There were definitely a few moments that felt a little over the top or slightly cringe for me, but I still had such a good time with this book. I actually think it needed some of those lighthearted, goofy moments to balance out the heavy and emotional moments and the romance was super lovable, so that helped. I loved watching Zeke slowly find safety and healing because he deserved it.

Derek was absolutely AWFUL, and I was cheering for Zeke to escape that relationship the entire time. Definitely check trigger warnings going in because there is domestic violence and an abusive relationship on page.

I think this was such a sweet, emotional, and genuinely good MM romance with great chemistry, healing, and all the snowy vibes. A really strong finish to the series for me! I will now forever be looking for the nex book by Jillian because this was a fantastic series.

Thank you to Jillian D. Wray and The Author Agency for the eARC of this book.

First off check the trigger warnings because this does have heavy triggers. If any of them are hard for you, please consider skipping this book. Have you ever read a book that makes you have to sit and process? This book was definitely that book for me.

When Talons family buys Ricochet Ridge, he goes there anonymously to get a feel for the town. Christian "Talon" Devereaux was everything a huge green flag should be. He never expected to be attracted to the host with the haunted eyes. Talon's never been interested in men before, but once Zeke ends up in the hospital, he realizes his feelings.

Zeke’s story broke me. Behind all the smiles and energy was someone barely holding himself together. Zeke is
such a sweet and strong person. Trapped in a toxic relationship while just trying to survive day to day.

Zeke and Talons chemistry is off the charts! I loved how Talon pursued Zeke without it being romantic at first. He just wanted to make it all better for Zeke. He doesn't try to "fix" Zeke. He just shows up for him over and over again and generally listens and cares for him.

Talon's patience with Zeke and the way he handled it all was so beautiful. He just comes in with his giant heart, patience, and "you deserve the world” energy and it makes you love him even more. Zeke finally starts allowing himself to believe he deserves happiness. I loved both Zeke and Talon so much in this.

If you love MM, secret identities, stories about hurt/healing, emotional damage, steamy slow burn, hard won happily ever after, and a green flag MMC, then this will be for you! 5/5

I wasn’t sure if I could love another book in this series as much as the last 2, but once again, Jillian has proven it can be done. I absolutely devoured this book! Once I started it, there was no putting it down! I’m not normally a fan of age gap romances but this one was different. It didn’t feel like an age gap at all, Zeke & Talon felt very much like equals.

Zeke and Talon meet when Talon, billionaire, new owner of Ricochet Ridge Ski Reosrt, goes undercover as a seasonal employee to get to know his employees. He meets Zeke, host of The Summit restaurant and is immediately enthralled with him. Zeke however, has had a rough life and is currently stuck in a toxic relationship with his abusive boyfriend Derek.

These two were drawn to each other immediately. It was clear to everyone (except Talon) that he was having feelings of more than friendship towards Zeke. Watching Zeke gain the strength to stand up for himself was beyond amazing and finding the ability to trust Talon after everything he had been through was beautiful.

I loved how Talon took care of Zeke, even before he knew about his situation. How he found the time for the little things and moments that matter most. Not only was he incredibly protective of him, he did it in a way that made Zeke feel loved, not controlled. The beginning was heartbreaking but the ending healed my fractured heart.

Have you ever read a book that makes you have to sit and process the end because you just weren’t ready?

Summit was that for me.

The latest novel in the Ricochet Ridge series is one that will bring emotions out in the most bittersweet way, and I mean that in the best possible way. This may be the end of a series, but it’s the beginning a story you won’t forget.

Zeke is in an impossible situation full or manipulation and violence. He doesn’t see a way out and has no confidence in his self worth. Talon is the new owner of Ricochet Ridge, and once he meets Zeke, he can’t pull himself away and would do anything to make things better.

Zeke’s story is one that is sadly true for more people than we know and is one that you should read the trigger warnings before beginning. It is heavy, heart breaking, and proof the evil lives in the world……

BUT

It is also the story of a survivor finding love and joy in a world that has torn him down and of the man who wants nothing more than to show Zeke he is worth more than anything money could buy. Their journey is one that will rip your heart out and heal it again.

I was an immediate fan of this author after the first book I read, but she has made herself an auto buy, auto hype one after this. The care she took to tell Zeke’s story and to shine a light on a subject that is so important to those living through it and those that have survived is breathtaking.

Come back to Ricochet ridge for one last time and watch as Zeke and Talon have their lives changed at the Summit.

Summit by Jillian D. Wray
Book 4 in the Ricochet Ridge series

If I could give this 100 stars I could!!!!!

Tropes
MM Romance
Boss X Employee

Hurt/comfort
Bi Awakening
Class difference
Age Gap

Oh my heart hurt so bad for Zeke in this book and I fell in love with Talon. This is by far my favorite book out of this series. Talon is mega rich and is going under cover boss at Ricochet Ridge Resort to understand the ins and out of their new investment. Talon shows up at Summit which is the Restaurant at the top of the mountain of the resort. Zeke is working at the host stand directing everyone where to put all their ski gear before entering. When Talon sees Zeke for the first time he can’t believe how beautiful this man is. Zeke is a shy man that is dealing with so much abuse from roommate/partner. Zeke feels so helpless because of his situation but he is proud and doesn’t want to leave one bad situation for one just as bad so he stays and endures it. Zeke is in the theatre along with working his job at Summit and it brings him more joy than anything. The more time Talon and Zeke spend together the stronger the feelings become between them. Zeke is horribly assaulted and Talon refuses to leave him alone anymore.
The slow way that Talon takes care of Zeke not only his body but his complete well being is beautiful. Let me also give a shout out to Eloise. This women is a badass the way she just make everyone around her at ease and comfortable. The instant friendship between her and Zeke is the sweetest.

Summit might honestly be my favorite in the Ricochet Ridge series so far. Zeke and Talon completely had my heart. This story balances angst, romance, and healing so well, and I was hooked the whole way through.

Zeke’s journey hit especially hard for me because seeing how deeply life, people, and everything they’ve been through can affect someone’s confidence and ability to stand up for themselves put me in such an emotional state. I wanted so badly for him to finally get the peace and safety he deserved. And Derek… yeah, I hated him with my whole chest.

Talon was everything in this book. The way he stayed beside Zeke through every hard moment and gave him space to find his own strength made me love him even more. I loved how Talon wanted someone who truly saw him and not just what he possessed. Their connection felt soft and genuine. The boss/employee dynamic, the secret identity, the class difference, all of it added such a fun layer while still keeping the emotional side strong. Watching them slowly build trust and fall for each other had me smiling so much.

From beginning to end this was such an engaging read. Emotional, romantic, comforting, family drama, healing, and so satisfying by the end. I loved how everything came together in a way that felt satisfying and real.

Zeke and Talon really deserved their happy ending, and I loved getting to watch them find that together. This one gave me all the feelings and easily became a favorite for me.

Summit was a beautiful and emotional conclusion to a series I've loved from start to finish. Honestly, not a single book in this series feels skippable.

Going into Zeke's story, I knew it would be difficult, but I wasn't prepared for just how heartbreaking it would be. Please check the content warnings because the physical and emotional abuse is graphic and difficult to read at times.

My heart absolutely broke for Zeke. After years of abuse, manipulation, and feeling trapped, watching him slowly learn what safety, love, and support look like was incredibly powerful.

And then there's Tal. He was everything Zeke deserved. Patient, kind, protective, and endlessly supportive without ever trying to control Zeke or push him beyond his boundaries. Their relationship felt genuine because Tal didn't want to save Zeke...he wanted to stand beside him while he saved himself.

I also loved that Zeke never lost sight of his own dreams. Rather than giving everything up for love, he continued pursuing theatre and building a future for himself, while Tal cheered him on every step of the way.

This book was heartbreaking, hopeful, and ultimately so rewarding. Zeke finally finding peace, safety, and a love he could trust made every emotional moment worth it.

A beautiful ending to the Ricochet Ridge series, though I'm definitely sad to be saying goodbye to these characters.

6 STARS!!!

This book dragged my heart to the top of the mountain, broke it open at the SUMMIT, and stitched it back together on the gondola ride back down!

Hands down my fave book in the Ricochet Ridge series! Somehow Jillian made each book stronger, heavier, and more emotionally consuming than the last. Every single book has pulled me in deeper, but this one is at the top of the series.

Zeke and Talon OMG. They were EVERYTHING to me<3 My poor baby Zeke, I just wanted to protect him, to make it all better, to give him everything he deserved - and Talon did all this and more. He was absolutely PERFECT. I loved how he pursued Zeke without it being romantic at first. He is just genuinely that good of a person. And Zeke was so strong. Jillian wrote some deep and heavy topics into this book - Zeke and Talon's story was so raw, and painful, and vulnerable, and watching Zeke start to heal tiny steps at a time was so heart wrenching. She's the Queen of slow burn and this one was slow, hot, sweet, emotional, and did not disappoint.

Read if you love...
*MM romance
*when a billionaire boss goes undercover
*emotionally charged romance
*a 10 yr age gap
*when they come from very different classes
*raw stories about trauma and healing
*when a boss and employee fall for each other

I'm so sad to see the Ricochet Ridge series come to an end :( It's been the BEST time, and this series definitely made it to my all-time faves list. I can't wait to see what Jillian writes next!

SUMMIT OH WOW THIS BOOK. It was very important to me to see Zeke happy and that he is. Talon is literally his knight in shining armor and they are perfect for each other.

Zeke has been through so much and the fact that he refused to believe that he was worthy of love just broke my heart. Talon made him realize how special of a person he really is and it made me so happy.

Talon being the very rich man he is has always been used to people wanting him for his money and what he could provide for them. Zeke was such a breath of fresh air to him because he loved Talon for who he is as a person and not because of his bank account. Zeke actually hated taking things from Talon even though all Talon wanted to do was spoil him.

The last sentence of the book made me cry like a baby and it was just so beautiful.

This series has been absolutely incredible. It’s definitely one of my all time favorites. All 4 books are amazing and I’ve arc read 3 out of the 4 books and I’ve loved every second of them. I’m very sad that it’s over but also so excited for Jill’s next series. What a journey this has been and finally seeing Zeke happy, after seeing how much the other characters in the books wanted that, was such a perfect end to the series. I will miss the boys of Ricochet Ridge so much but will definitely be doing rereads 🥹❤️ This series is definitely one that will always stick with me.
